As AIs like ChatGPT or Claude become more integrated into everyday life, YouTuber PewDiePie simply launches his own. With this, he aims to provide an alternative to the big tech companies and ensure increased privacy for his users.
What kind of AI is this? In a new YouTube video, PewDiePie spoke about his new project. It is called Odysseus, an AI model he developed himself.
Odysseus has now been officially released and is available for free to everyone. The interface is an all-in-one workspace where users can connect local models or external APIs. Additionally, autonomous AI agents and deep research functions are also possible, as well as document management within the workspace.
Here you can find the website of the AI model on GitHub.
At the end of his video, PewDiePie says the following: “The war against big tech companies has just begun” and adds that Odysseus will never cost anything.
In the MMORPG Prism 2033, even AI NPCs are to be used:
Privacy has high priority with Odysseus
What is special about Odysseus? In the video, PewDiePie mentions that AI gets better the more personal data you give it, such as preferences, documents, workflows, emails, or your calendar.
However, he also sees data privacy issues with big tech companies and wants to create a system where the data is stored locally or self-managed.
The project is also open source, which means that anyone can look at the code and edit it for their own preferences. On the website, PewDiePie encourages users to download, modify, and even self-host his AI model.
It also states: “No sales team, no demo requests, no Trojan horse.”
Besides ChatGPT and now Odysseus, there are several other AI models that have established themselves over time.
