In Palworld you have the opportunity to catch various Pals with a fishing rod. What you gain from this, which rods and baits to use, and what tips you should know, you can find here in the overview.
What does fishing bring? In Palworld, there is a relaxed way to get strong loot and Pals in addition to the hardcore survival adventure with battles – fishing.
Equipped with a fishing rod and bait on the line, you can catch rare resources as well as materials, blueprints, and Pals.
However, there are many factors that can influence your catch. To get the most loot from the waters, we will now show you the most important information.
Palworld: All about fishing rods – These are the best
Which fishing rod should I choose? In total, you have 6 fishing rods available:
- Chillet
- Gumoss
- Cattiva
- Croajiro
- Pengullet
- Depresso
We have listed them from top to bottom in the order you can unlock them. With each advancing model, the fishing bar in the mini-game increases for you, allowing you to reach your bags more easily. So if you have unlocked all, it’s best to choose the Depresso rod.
How do I unlock the fishing rods? There are three fishing rods with three rarities – Chillet, Cattiva, and Pengullet. You can unlock these specimens in your technology tree once you reach the corresponding level. Gumoss, Croajiro, and Depresso are special models of the unlockable fishing rods, but they can only be built with blueprints that you must find.
You can randomly obtain the blueprints while looting and exploring the world. If you do not have them yet, you can, for example, choose the Pengullet rod instead of the Depresso rod as an endgame fishing rod.
Palworld: All baits – Which one should I take?
What do baits do? In addition to fishing rods, you can also work with baits to make fishing easier. Depending on the type, you receive bonuses. So, if you want to get the most out of your fishing round, you should rely on them.
Which should I take with me? In total, there are 4 specimens that you can craft and choose as bait:
- Simple bait – Offers no bonus, meant for smaller Pals and to get started with fishing
- Premium bait – Increases the chance of something biting. Pals swim to the hooks much faster.
- Luxury bait – Provides a larger bar in the mini-game.
- Enticing bait – Significantly increases the mini-game bar and caught Pals drop more loot.
Additionally, there’s a fishing magnet that you can only unlock later. This serves to recover treasures.
You will unlock the respective blueprints as you level up. During crafting, the necessary ingredients vary. While the cheaper baits can rely on flour, the more premium specimens require Pal oil.
Tips for fishing – What should I know?
- Some Pals give bonuses when you take them with you for fishing. It’s best to take one of the following Pals:
- Whalaska (Ignis): Catch meter is slightly filled and fills faster when fishing.
- Ghangler (Ignis): Pals bite faster.
- Jellroy: Receive more and better loot when recovering items.
- Jelliette: Receive more items when fishing.
- Driftwood is the perfect place to obtain rare blueprints: Don’t ignore it!
- To get the rarest rewards, you should fish at night.
- If you find fishing tedious, you can build a pond at your base and have a Pal do the fishing for you.
- For the best loot, you should combine the best rod with the best bait.
