You play Palworld and are looking for the crafting material leather? MeinMMO tells you how to get leather the fastest.
How to get leather: If you want leather, you need to catch or defeat certain Pals that drop leather.
Palworld: Finding leather
Who drops leather? Currently, there are several Pals that can provide you with leather quickly, especially at the beginning:
- Foxpark: A fire Pal that you can find in your starting area, hence has a low level.
- Fuack: You will find it directly when you leave the starting area and stay west along the beach. Here you will encounter several of them. They also have a low level.
- Eikthyrdeer: Especially worth it, because it drops a lot of leather (3 – 4 pieces). Eikthyrdeer is at least level 9 or 10 and thus still very strong at the beginning.
- Melpaca: Looks like an alpaca and might appear in the starting zone with a bit of luck. However, it can only be found at higher levels.
- Direhowl: You won’t find it in the starting area, but only when you leave the starting zone towards the northwest into the autumn forest. They roam in packs, which you can already hear howling.
- Chillet: The water and dragon Pal can be found north of your starting zone. The boss Pal is at level 11 easier to defeat at the beginning than other bosses.
- Direhowl: Also found in the northwest or north of the small settlement (fast travel point). They often hunt in packs and drop leather, money, and even rubies.
Tip: At the beginning, we would recommend that you do not kill all the Pals, but instead catch them. Because catching Pals is one of many ways to level up quickly in Palworld. You will unlock many strong buildings and items only with advanced levels.

Palworld: Farming/Making leather
Producing leather: If you want to produce leather regularly, you need a livestock farm. Certain Pals will then wander here and drop materials such as leather, eggs, or wool after some time. You can unlock the livestock farm at level 5.
For the livestock farm, you need the following materials:
- 50 wood
- 20 stones
- 30 fibers
Pals that can produce leather on the farm include:
- Melpaca
- Vixy
