In Cyberpunk 2077 you can literally make the walls shake. Many areas of the game are completely destructible. Additionally, there will be the well-known “color code” for items, which makes their quality instantly recognizable.
At E3 2018, some journalists had the opportunity to get hands-on with Cyberpunk 2077 and had in-depth discussions with the developers. This revealed many details and exciting insights. It was disclosed that Cyberpunk 2077 will feature destructible environments and the well-known color schemes for items.
Destruction of the environment. At E3, a representative from CD Projekt Red confirmed that Cyberpunk features a “full destruction system”. This makes sense, as in Cyberpunk, weapons can fire through walls. Whether whole buildings are destructible remains to be seen. At least players should be able to create chaos with the interior design if they wish. It remains to be seen whether the system also allows for destroying rooms and seeking cover behind debris.
Chaos within limits: Elsewhere, it was stated that one can also create chaos in Cyberpunk, such as running over citizens with cars (like in GTA). However, this is only possible “to a limited extent”, as those who create too much chaos will soon become the talk of the town and face the wrath of the megacorps.
Cyberpunk 2077 has the well-known color code for items
Color coding for loot. Anyone who has played any RPG in the last 12 years will likely be familiar with the color system. Depending on the color of the text, an item is particularly rare and thus particularly powerful. White usually stands for “common”, while purple stands for “epic” and orange for “legendary”. However, it has not yet been revealed whether the rarity of items in Cyberpunk depends on randomness or is strictly predefined.
Are you excited about destructible environments and “typical” RPG elements like item rarity?

The press conferences of E3 2018 have taken place and the fair is slowly coming to an end. Time to reflect and pick the presentation highlights. What were the biggest games and the best moments of E3?
The last few days have been like Christmas for gamers. At E3 2018, countless games were announced during the fair itself or at the press conferences, which developers are currently working on.
Did you miss the press conferences or the announced games? We briefly summarize the individual presentations and the highlights of the press conferences for you.
EA – “Show us games, not players”
How did the presentation go? Electronic Arts had some highlights this year, such as BioWare’s Anthem and Battlefield V. The platformer Unravel 2 and the indie game Sea of Solitude were particularly well received online. In addition, the often-requested content for Clone Wars for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 was briefly introduced.
How did the presentation go down with the audience? Players were puzzled when the new Star Wars game from Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, was announced in a brief aside without any visual material.
The mood shifted when EA introduced the next installment of the Madden football game and brought pro Madden player Young Kiv and NFL player Juju Smith-Schuster on stage. Then followed a 15-minute segment on the mobile game Command and Conquer: Rivals, which completely sank the ship. The Reddit community criticized that people wanted to see games, not players. Thus, the Madden and C&C segments missed their target with the audience.

Xbox – 50 titles, many for the first time, few exclusives
How did the presentation go? Microsoft packed a particularly full package this year and announced a whopping 50 games, including 15 world premieres, during the Xbox press conference. They also stated that they are already working on the next Xbox consoles and intend to significantly expand their portfolio through studio acquisitions.
They showed a trailer for Halo Infinite, but as it turned out later, it was meant to showcase the new engine. The visuals had nothing to do with the game itself.
The first gameplay footage of Cyberpunk 2077, which we have embedded for you below
How did the presentation go down with the audience? The Reddit community particularly appreciated the multitude of games presented and the execution of the presentation. Given the few exclusive titles, it was suggested that the presentation provided little reason to purchase the Xbox One. A special highlight awaited at the end of the event with the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077, the new game from The Witcher studio CD Projekt.

Bethesda – Yes, we are bringing Skyrim to every platform
How did the presentation go? Bethesda’s presentation this year was quite lively: Andrew W.K. entertained the audience musically, and several titles were announced that players have been waiting for years. There was also a lot to see about Fallout 76 – again with a humorous, confident presentation by Game Director and Executive Producer of Bethesda Game Studios, Todd Howard.
and Fallout 76, which had already been seen earlier at Microsoft
How did the presentation go down with the audience? Some viewers from the Reddit community found the presentation quite embarrassing until Todd Howard came on stage and introduced the real blockbusters. Especially the humor was well received, such as the video for Skyrim: Very Special Edition for Amazon’s Alexa, which at least exists in the USA. Overall, the community describes the press conference as “solid”.

How did the presentation go? The biggest problem with Square Enix’s press conference was that many of the games had already been shown in previous presentations. Games that fans were particularly excited about, such as the Avengers Project or new information about the Final Fantasy VII remake, were omitted.
How did the presentation go down with the audience? The audience on Reddit generally received Square Enix’s presentation less well. The company was accused of simply not being adequately prepared for such a large event. Other users speculated that no showable games were ready.

How did the presentation go? This year at Ubisoft it was all about “more of the same.” Instead of announcing a plethora of new IPs, there was a lot of love for the already existing franchises at the French company’s press conference. The conference had an artistic, colorful, and varied slant: It was more of a “show” what was presented.
What were the multiplayer highlights from Ubisoft?
How did the presentation go down with the audience? On Reddit, it was particularly appreciated that Ubisoft did not neglect their already established games and continued to provide updates for titles like Rainbow Six Siege, For Honor, and The Division. Additionally, in this year’s announcements, the integration into the program was regarded positively by players. The presentation of Just Dance 2019, for example, worked wonderfully as a show opener.

How did the presentation go? At the PC Gaming Show of the gaming site “PC Gamer” in 2018, the games that would otherwise go short at the fair were presented. The result was a colorful, chaotic mix of titles that unfortunately interested very few viewers from start to finish.
How did the presentation go down with the audience? Some viewers on Reddit expected more from the presentation and were left bored, while others loved the variety of titles presented and celebrated the presentation. The fact that the conference lasted about two hours was also criticized.
Despite its length, the presentation did have some small highlights that could excite their fans.

How did the presentation go? Sony took a more reserved approach at the PlayStation presentation this year and focused on fewer innovations, which were instead presented in detail. The conference struggled periodically with technical problems: sound dropouts, strange cues from the direction, or a complete crash of the transmission on the streaming platform Twitch.
However, the audience got to see exciting trailers for The Last of Us Part 2 and the upcoming Destiny 2 expansion Forsaken.
How did the presentation go down with the audience?Sony’s presentation at E3 2018divides the community on Reddit. Some are disappointed that there was so little to see about the games and instead much was discussed about the titles. Other viewers defend this approach by stating that Sony did exactly what they had announced in the weeks leading up to the event. They showcased fewer games but focused specifically on them.

How did the presentation go? It seemed that Nintendo was fully focused on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch this year. The company dedicated 30 minutes of its presentation to the upcoming fighting game, where numerous Nintendo characters compete against each other.
How did the presentation go down with the audience? Many viewers on Reddit found Nintendo’s presentation boring or one-sided. The heavy focus on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was received unfavorably. Additionally, Pikachu and Co. were too briefly addressed for some viewers: Pokémon Let’s Go was only discussed in-depth in the following days during Nintendo’s Treehouse broadcasts.
Warframe finally has a story update again. In “Sacrifice,” you will learn how the story continues and finally discover what your Warframe suits really are!
Since the legendary story update “The Second Dream,” we know what is inside the Warframes. In “The War Within,” the mysterious “Operators” were finally described in more detail and equipped with their own abilities. But we still do not know what the Warframes themselves represent.
However, there are some extremely disturbing story snippets that hint at a gruesome secret. This is now partially unveiled with the new update “Sacrifice”.
Major Update Sacrifice Released for PC
The new story update Sacrifice has been announced for a long time. Now it is finally here – at least on PC. The console versions are expected to follow in the summer. Sacrifice brings a wave of new content. The new Warframe “Excalibur Umbra” is particularly eagerly awaited.

This black Excalibur version has been available in China for some time. Now you can finally play it in the West.
In addition to the new Umbra Warframe, there are also:
A new UI: The user interface is being revamped, including the inventory and merchant menus.
New cosmetic upgrades: You will receive Umbra armor parts for all Warframes, Umbra cosmetics for your Operator, new head accessories, and even armors for your Kavats and Kubrows.
You can now also mod the weapons from your skills – including Valkyr’s claws.
A new Captura scene with Sacrifice theme.
Umbra glyphs for your profile.
By the way, if you enter the promo code “OLDFRIEND” on any platform by July 20, 2018, you will get a nice Orokin tea set and a 3-day affinity booster.
Attention: To start the story of Sacrifice, you must first complete all other stories. So Second Dream, War Within, Chains of Harrow, and the Apostasy Prologue.
The Next Shocking Chapter of the Warframe Story
The biggest highlight of Sacrificeshould still be the story. As the lead community manager Rebecca Ford (the voice of Lotus) revealed in an interview with PCGamer, story updates in Warframe are always about answering current questions.
Before “Second Dream,” the question was often “What are Tenno?”
Before “The War Within,” people wondered “What exactly is going on with the Operators?”
The current questions at the start of “Sacrifice” are therefore:
“What are the Warframes now?”
“Where did the Warframes come from?”
“What exactly is Umbra?”
The Fate of Lotus and Ballas
In the search for the answer regarding the origins of the Warframes, Lotus and the mysterious Orokin Ballas also play a role. Ballas “kidnapped” the “Space Mom” Lotus in the last story update “Apostasy Prologue.” He is also the voice in the background of the Prime trailers.
He was significantly involved in the creation of the Warframes, and to get to the bottom of the mystery, Sacrifice will heavily rely on flashbacks. There, you will learn what really happened when the Orokin created the Warframes in their desperation to combat the Sentients.
Moreover, the mysterious Umbra also plays an important role in this. Rebecca Ford just hopes that the appearance of this legendary Warframe does not distract too much from the story. A situation like in the Marvel film Civil War, where Spider-Man’s appearance distracted from the rest of the film, is hopefully not going to occur.
Decisions Might Become Important
Later in the interview, Ford mentioned the decisions you can make in various dialogues in the game. It is still unclear what that will entail. It seems that the developers are currently uncertain about it as well.
But they plan to eventually integrate the decisions into the game. However, not until a later time. Overall, the creative work on the game is never finished; they only have “releases”.
Therefore, it will keep going and Sacrifice will not be the end of the Warframe story. There will always be new questions that will be answered in the next update.
Fortnite (PC, PS4, iOS & Xbox One) has learned in Season 4 and given its most dedicated players a task that has motivated them for weeks. It’s about the blockbuster skin “The Visitor”. It’s now available, but only for the most dedicated players
Motivating hunt for loot! When the Battle Pass first appeared in Fortnite during Season 2, players were already excited. Players consistently leveled up and regularly experienced success by unlocking new goodies in the Battle Pass.
In Season 3, the concept was then expanded with weekly challenges and even more skins and goodies from the Pass.
The problem: Especially eager gamers reached the final stage in the Pass soon and had nothing left to do. By week 6 or 7, hardcore players were done with the Battle Pass in Fortnite. The rest of the season did not interest them anymore.
In Season 4, the developers therefore improved the system again and gave even the most hardcore pros a goal until week 7.
Motivating speed brake in Season 4
How did Epic keep the super gamers engaged? To ensure hardcore grinders didn’t conquer everything again in a short time, the Blockbuster Challenge offered a reward that couldn’t be completed immediately.
Moreover, the challenge had 7 stages. Each week, you could complete exactly one of them. What the reward was, was also completely unknown. All they knew was that there would be a legendary skin.
Story bits at least as exciting as the skin
There was also a story! For the first time in Season 4, a kind of meta-plot was told. There were several themes, including superheroes and the mysterious comet from Season 3. Each week, a new title image was unlocked when all previous challenges had been completed.
The Visitor is the skin you get from the Blockbuster Challenge. He is a type of alien and has a cool cape and customizable helmet displays. A worthy reward for hardcore completionists.
In Season 3, it didn’t matter whether you completed all challenges or not. In Season 4, your effort is clearly rewarded. Anyone who sees a “Visitor” now knows, “I have a really dedicated player in front of me!”
Source: FortniteIntel
Many casual players will not be able to complete all 7 necessary week challenges. Whether due to lack of time, or because they simply can’t get enough kills with traps or sniper rifles.
Additionally, the Visitor comes with a final title image that already teases the next season of the story. We will soon write another detailed article about this here. It remains exciting what Epic has in store for Season 5!
In a documentary by Bild about the FIFA commentators Frank Buschmann and Wolff Fuss, the first icons for FUT 19 were leaked.
Gullit and Maldini available again as FUT icons
Commentator quotes confirm icons. In a short video documentary about “Buschi” and Wolff Fuss, some quotes for FIFA 19 are mentioned. It primarily revolves around players, in this case, even about the first icons. Ruud Gullit and Paolo Maldini were mentioned by name, which is a clear sign that we can play with both icons again in FIFA 19.
In 1987, Ruud Gullit went to the Italian league, specifically to AC Milan […].
Only 14 goals conceded in a season, and of course, Maldini played a major role in that.
Hint at a new German icon? A reddit user jokingly mentioned regarding another quote, that must be Rudi Völler. Presumably due to his viral quote “He never loved football.” Many Germans would welcome Völler as an icon, but several stars might be meant. Who do you think of with this commentator’s quote?
A very important man with an incredible understanding of the game – He has lived football as few others have!
What icons does the community wish for FIFA 19?
It is likely that the icons from FIFA 18 will also be playable in FIFA 19. Nevertheless, EA will surely not miss the opportunity to advertise new icons. What are the community’s favorites?
What is Anthem? Anthem is an online shooter in the style of Destiny. In a futuristic world, you must protect humanity from monsters. You play as a so-called Freelancer, piloting powerful Javelin exosuits. They serve as the classes in Anthem. This is connected with an upgrade system and a BioWare-typical story.
What distinguishes Anthem? With BioWare and EA, two giants stand behind Anthem, which could make it a strong competitor to established titles like Destiny or The Division. Anthem focuses on the co-op experience among friends and will be a purely PvE game, potentially fostering a friendly and passionate community, similar to Warframe. If BioWare can implement its plans as promised, we can expect an exciting AAA title that will be played for many years to come.
What distinguishes Battlefield V? Battlefield V will debut new gameplay features. For instance, there are the Grand Operations: These are large-scale operations and thus the most extensive mode in the multiplayer part of Battlefield 5. 64 players are divided into two teams and compete against each other. Additionally, a Battle Royale mode was confirmed at E3: Many details about this have not yet been disclosed by EA, but it should be revealed later this year. However, it has already been announced that you can drive vehicles there and that teamwork is essential.
What isThe Division 2? The Division 2 is the sequel to the post-apocalyptic MMO shooter (The Division) developed by Ubisoft. The first part was set in New York. A deadly virus broke out on Black Friday, just before Christmas, plunging the city into total chaos. The story continues in The Division 2.
What distinguishes The Division 2? The Division is an established brand. The Division 1 has been significantly improved in recent years and the developers have learned to better understand their community. With The Division 2, they are aware that players expect more content from a game that has a stronger PvE focus. There will be innovations in gameplay and setting that meet community expectations. So far, The Division 2 looks promising for fans of online shooters.
What is Fallout 76? Fallout 76 will be a “real Fallout” but with a mandatory online mode. It will this time be an online RPG with survival elements. After Fallout 4, set in the Commonwealth, Fallout 76 takes you to West Virginia. You are a resident of Vault 76, one of the vaults that opened shortly after the nuclear war. 25 years after the sealing, you are to rebuild the world.
What distinguishes Fallout 76? Fallout is one of the best-known and most popular franchises worldwide. Until now, the games have been purely single-player experiences. Fallout 76 will be the first online game in the history of the franchise. Up to 4 players can team up and play together. However, typical Fallout elements such as quests, a story, and a leveling system will still be present. We are excited to see how successfully Bethesda will implement an online Fallout.
What is FIFA 19? FIFA 19 is the annual soccer simulation from EA. FIFA 19 will see some changes to gameplay aimed at giving players more control. This will be realized, among other things, through a new shooting system.
What distinguishes FIFA 19? Every year, EA strives for new official licenses to stay ahead of Pro Evolution Soccer. The biggest news at EA Play regarding FIFA 19 was the announcement of the UEFA Champions League. The rights were acquired from Konami, which had previously used the license for Pro Evolution Soccer. During the press conference, EA announced that the Champions League will be included in career mode, kick-off mode in FUT (Ultimate Team), and in “The Journey”. This allowed the already substantial giant FIFA 19 to position itself even stronger.
In Destiny 2, the second Iron Banner is coming in Season 3. Learn everything about the start date, the game mode, the loot, and everything else you need to know.
On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, it will be time again: Lord Saladin returns to the Tower and kicks off the June Iron Banner. Under his strict gaze, players will once again be able to capture zones in a 6v6 format and compete against each other in the Crucible for a week.
In addition, players can continue the hunt for new weapons and ornaments from Season 3 Iron Banner – your progress will be retained throughout Season 3. This applies to the ornaments and the Iron Banner ranks.
When exactly does it start? And what loot can the Guardians expect? We have all the important details.
What to Expect in the June Iron Banner
It will again be played in a 6v6 format.
Start: Tuesday, June 19, at 7 PM
End: Tuesday, June 26, at 7 PM
Mode: Control
The power level advantages are disabled in the Iron Banner. However, this will change with the Forsaken expansion on September 4, 2018.
There is normal matchmaking. This time, the experience for solo players against groups should finally improve.
Requirements for Participation:
You must have unlocked the Tower, i.e., completed the main campaign.
You must be at least level 20.
Visit Lord Saladin to start an Iron Banner quest, if you haven’t already.
The Iron Banner has its own playlist in the Crucible overview that you can play.
What Has Changed in the Iron Banner in Season 3
With the Warmind expansion, the system for earning rewards in the Iron Banner event has been updated. Lord Saladin has had a similar reputation system to the Vanguard since the start of Season 3.
Players can now rank up by earning Iron Banner tokens through participation and exchanging them with the Iron Lord in the Tower. Each rank-up grants progress towards unlocking coveted rewards. The higher you rank up, the more gear is available for purchase.
By the way: Players who did not participate in the first Season 3 Iron Banner can redeem their tokens collected from Season 2. These have been retained and transferred to Season 3. So, those who have saved up a lot can push their Iron Banner rank a bit.
Rewards in the Season 3 Iron Banner
Since the start of Season 3 in Destiny 2, new weapons and armor ornaments can be earned in the Iron Banner.
The following weapons can be earned during Season 3:
Energy Hand Cannon “Finite Impactor”
Energy Auto Rifle “Dark Decision”
Kinetic Sidearm “Allied Demand”
Kinetic Submachine Gun “Multimach CCX”
Sniper Rifle “Locked Finality”
Rocket Launcher “Radiant Sphere”
These armor ornaments were introduced in Season 3 of the Iron Banner:
Each ornament requires a certain progress in the Iron Banner or with Lord Saladin. Progress is counted account-wide. The following requirements apply to the ornaments.
Class item: Reach rank 5 in the Iron Banner
Leg armor: Defeat 100 enemies in the Iron Banner with your Super
Chest armor: Defeat 100 enemies in the Iron Banner with power weapons
The Division recently received a major update, Patch 1.8.2. With this patch, the first four Shield Achievements were introduced. Now, clever dataminers have released a complete list along with tasks. These 12 tasks will then have rewards for The Division 2.
On June 14, Patch 1.8.2 went live with some new features. In addition to new legendary missions and some balance changes, the Shields are finally included. It was already known that there are a total of twelve of them, four with the patch, and the remaining ones are expected to be released on a monthly basis.
What are the Shields? These new achievements are designed to provide various smaller rewards for agents, both in The Division 1 and in Part 2.
DeadEye: Complete all high-value targets in a week
Avenger: Kill 10 named bosses in the Light Zone, Dark Zone, and the West Side Piers
Dataminers find details about the other 8 Shields
Shortly after, diligent dataminers (via reddit) stepped in and provided a complete list of the upcoming Shields along with their associated tasks. It is important to note that this is only the current state of the files. There is no guarantee that these will be final in The Division, but it is considered very likely.
Here are the tasks for the upcoming Shields that have been uncovered:
Sacred (July): Complete ten phases, reach level ten, and kill ten Hunters in the Underground
Phoenix (August): Extract five items, survive five hours, and kill five Hunters in Survival
Talon (September): Reach a commendation value of over 3000
Rebel (October): Reach wave 15 in Resistance
Fang (November): Complete all missions at legendary difficulty
Prime (December): Collect three full Classified sets
Marshal (January): Obtain all exotic weapons and gear
Chieftain (February): Achieve the highest possible optimized Gear Score (290)
In addition to the patches, you can expect special containers and audio logs for The Division 1. If you are diligent, rewards in The Division 2 will be waiting for you at the end.
You can find the exact information about the rewards with us.
Shields are partially retroactive. If you have already discovered the Operations Base, the Shepard Shield should already be in your possession. This will also be the case for upcoming Shields.
If you already have a commendation value over 3000, you will not have any effort in September. Tasks like “Kill ten Hunters in the Underground” will not be retroactive, as the counter for these needs to be activated first.
What do you think about the Shields? Would you have liked more content?
Blizzard has revealed a new detail about transmogging in WoW: Battle for Azeroth. If you are fond of your artifact weapon, you can rejoice: Artifact weapon skins in WoW can now be transferred to anything.
In the Q&A from World of Warcraft, new details about transmogging were revealed. Game Director Ion Hazzikostas mentioned an interesting fact that may please all players who care about the appearance of their weapon. In Battle for Azeroth, you will be able to transfer the appearance of the artifact weapon to any other weapon type.
Regardless of weapon type: Artifact weapons were special in many ways. Sometimes they even allowed a class to equip a weapon type that they normally cannot use. For example, druids are usually unable to wield two daggers at the same time – but with the artifact weapon, they could. Many players have feared that their unlocked templates for artifact weapons would not be usable. However, the new exception now allows exactly that: Transferring the artifact weapon skin to all usable weapon types.
An example: You are a Shadow Priest and still attached to your dagger Xal’atath, but in Battle for Azeroth you are using a two-handed staff? Then you can still transmog Xal’atath and the corresponding off-hand onto the staff and proudly stroll around Kul Tiras and Zandalar with your dagger.
No transmogging of foreign specializations. However, Blizzard still insists on one thing. You will not be able to use the transmogging of another specialization. For example, if you are a Fire Mage, you cannot transmog your weapon to Aluneth (Arcane). This would cause too many problems with the representation of certain spell animations and distort the lore of the weapons.
What do you think of the relaxed rules? Do you like that you can keep artifact weapons regardless of the equipped weapon?
The world of Anthem will constantly be in flux and is intended to function fundamentally like a Netflix TV series. BioWare’s CEO Casey Hudson hopes that players will keep coming back because they are captivated by the exciting storyline.
BioWare aims to follow a TV series approach: In an interview with Variety, BioWare’s CEO Casey Hudson stated that the developers compare Anthem to a TV series. Players are meant to return repeatedly due to story events, discussing the latest happenings in Anthem with excitement.
TV series work by creating suspense and curiosity: Series are often designed to build tension to encourage viewers to want to be present for the next episode. Small events are sprinkled in here and there, hinting at a significant climax. These can be open questions, such as “Did John survive the explosion at the power plant?” Fans start discussing the wildest theories, sharing this suspense together. Series like “Game of Thrones” are a prime example of this.
Away from large DLCs: Inserted events are the future for BioWare
BioWare wants to change the way their games receive new content: In the past, BioWare would develop a game and design it to receive a major expansion. Such a DLC, however, is essentially its own mini-game in production. The developers want to move away from that.
For Anthem, a wide range of events has been prepared that can be sprinkled into the game. There should be hints here and there, and a few weeks later, the “big thing” will come that the game has been hinting at all along. In this way, they also aim to tell a long, interactive story.
Event content should maintain excitement for players: Hudson expects that a portion of players will play Anthem for a long time without interruption. However, this is only a small share. Most players will reach out to other games after a while. Hudson hopes that these players will continuously return for this new event content, just like someone might tune in after months to their favorite series to see how it continues.
This approach requires thorough planning: The most challenging aspect of this approach is that developers must think far ahead. Returning and new players need to remain on a level with those who are constantly engaged in Anthem. This includes level scaling and a narrative approach that avoids spoilers when players in various stages of the story play together. It’s also important not to fragment the community through paid content.
More than Weeklys or Dailys: Anthem should be in continuous evolution
The world will change and players can discover it anew: “The world changes when you return. If you’ve already been to that one town and soaked up the content there, we can say that this weekend a catastrophic snowstorm is taking place in the town. The lake you usually dove through is suddenly frozen, and you can walk on it and discover a new cave,” Hudson said.
This should be linked to a continuous story: Anthem should offer more than daily or weekly events that eventually repeat. The story will evolve in the long term. This should also lead to players wanting to return repeatedly to see what has changed and what happens next. There will be gameplay and missions, but the context will keep evolving.
Anthem should be an experience that players share with each other
Anthem should remain a topic for discussion among players: Hudson hopes with this approach that Anthem always holds a certain relevance for players. His ideal situation would be that players talk about their experiences with exploits in combat or changes in the world. He wishes for characters to be discussed loudly, who suddenly disappear or appear in the game.
Players need an easy return for this to work: For this approach to succeed, BioWare must hold players’ hands well. With constant changes, it can be challenging to stay up to date. Therefore, they are considering providing summaries like those series offer their audiences, in the style of “What happened last week in Anthem.” They hope players are excited enough to share all events with each other. A dynamic could develop where players simply provide each other with updates.
Event-focused storytelling will become a stronger trend
Other games have already pursued this event approach. BioWare is not the only developer building on this type of event.
In both examples, the storytelling approach worked. The community is brought together and experiences significant events in their game together. Anthem seems to want to build exactly on this and fully bank on this strategy. It initially sounds like an ambitious project that could work. Whether the plan will work out for Anthem remains to be seen.
The Season Pass of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is facing harsh criticism from fans. This is because Activision forces players into an “all or nothing” decision. All post-launch content is currently tied to the Black Ops Pass. The “outdated” paid DLC model is also strongly condemned.
All or nothing? Recently, new details about the Season Pass of Black Ops 4 have been released: the Black Ops Pass. With this model, the publisher Activision pursues an “all or nothing” strategy. All content meant to be added to the game post-launch is currently exclusively tied to the Black Ops Pass.
This move triggered a wave of outrage among many members of the Call of Duty community after it was announced.
Season Pass and Content Policy of Black Ops 4 Under Criticism
New direction with the Season Pass: Traditionally, installments of the Call of Duty series receive several DLCs each year. These consist of new map packs for multiplayer and the zombie mode. A Season Pass is also always offered, allowing players to purchase the DLCs at a discount as a bundle.
However, since there was a long period this year without any information about the Season Pass of Black Ops 4, fans began to speculate whether Black Ops 4 was distancing itself from the paid DLC policy. As it has recently become clear, that was not the case. The FAQ section of the Activision product site outlines the contents of the Black Ops Pass as follows:
“Classified,” a bonus zombie experience that will be available at launch
New fresh zombie experiences: IX, Voyage of Despair, and Blood of the Dead
12 multiplayer maps
4 exclusive blackout characters
Additionally, more fresh post-release content is set to find its way into the game.
Furthermore, Activision made it clear: the contents of the Season Pass of Black Ops 4 will only be available as a bundle within the Season Pass. This content cannot be purchased individually.
Does Call of Duty Have an “Outdated DLC Model?”

Fortnite was present at E3 2018. They were giving away goodie bags, which also contained a special E3 spray paint. The spray logo is now the latest hot item on the internet and is being sold for a lot of money on eBay!
At E3 2018, there were special goodie bags at the Fortnite booth. Inside was a pin with a Battle Bus, a voucher for 2,500 V-Bucks, and a code for a unique E3 spray paint.
Especially the spray logo is a must-have for many players and is therefore being sold for a lot of money on the internet.
300 Dollars for an E3 spray logo?
What’s so great about the spray logo? The spray paint from E3 is particularly funny and features one of the typical loot llamas from the game. The llama also says “EEE!”, so three times an “E” like in “E3”. It looks wonderfully silly and according to the current information, the logo will only be available during E3, possibly only at E3 2018.
How do I get such a logo? The E3 spray logo is currently only available in the E3 goodie bags. But many players want it, and therefore the trade of the goodie code is booming on the internet.
What does it cost? The prices are pretty absurd. Offers over 300 dollars are quite common. The included code for 2,500 V-Bucks (about 25 euros) is probably irrelevant. Fans clearly want the spray paint and are willing to spend a fortune on it.
What if Epic starts selling the spray paints?
But keep in mind that Epic might eventually offer the spray paints in the regular shop. Then they would probably cost far less than 300 dollars, and anyone who bought them for that much money would be rightfully annoyed.
On the other hand, this case also shows that Epic may also offer exclusive goodies for major events in the future. It’s quite possible that special Fortnite logos or items will appear at GamesCom 2018 as well.
In the video, you can see the spray logo.

Would you actually spend so much money for a spray logo if you knew it would never appear again?

With Battle for Azeroth, there are significant changes to the “Mythic+” dungeons in WoW. Players will no longer be able to change their gear – we will reveal why this is so.
With Battle for Azeroth, Blizzard aims to change many of the game mechanics of World of Warcraft. The “Mythic+” dungeons are also being adjusted. One change is likely to be particularly dramatic and will especially displease professional players. In the future, it will no longer be possible to change gear during a dungeon.
Why is Blizzard doing this? The Game Director Ion Hazzikostas revealed during the livestream that this change is intentional and well thought out. Players should prepare at the beginning of the dungeon for what to expect. This way, they have to make a decision instead of selecting the optimal set after every fight – because if there is always a perfect answer, then there is nothing to decide.
Multiple sets – standard for professionals. Especially professionals often had multiple sets for the same specialization, which they adjusted after each fight. Were there particularly many enemies in the next pull? Then the AoE set was equipped. Is there a boss fight with an enemy starting at 30% HP? Then they take the execute set. Those who wanted to perform optimally needed two, three, or even four sets. Blizzard now wants to avoid this.
Difficulty will be adjusted. Those now concerned that dungeons at a high “Mythic+” level will become impossible, can be reassured by Blizzard. The dungeons will be adjusted to this changed rule, so there should ultimately be no difference.
Currently, however, there is a way in the beta to bypass this hurdle – those who leave the instance can adjust their gear outside the dungeon and then return. However, this is likely to cost more time than it saves in most cases.
What do you think of this change? A good thing? Or should Blizzard leave it alone?

After the big press conferences of the E3 2018, we want to know what you liked the most.
The first days of E3 2018 went well, and everyone is now looking forward to the new releases that were announced. The E3 was a great entertainment show, not just for hardcore gamers.
Some presentations were very well received, while others faced ridicule in the community.
The E3 Highlights from the Mein-MMO Editorial Team
For us at Mein-MMO, the fair was exciting. There were important presentations like The Division 2 and announcement teasers like The Elder Scrolls VI, which we were happy about. Our highlights are diverse.
Cortyn was most excited about the presentation of The Last of Us 2. The trailer with gameplay was shown at Sony’s press conference.
Jürgen’s heart soared when he saw the trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6 – Even if it was just a mini-teaser. He is also looking forward to the ESO add-ons and the new mobile game The Elder Scrolls Blades .
Sven, our shooter expert, already proved his passion for “shooters” during the livestream. During the E3, he enjoyed the presentations of The Division 2, Anthem, and the Destiny 2 add-on “Forsaken” the most.
Micha is on the hype train heading to Night City. The presentation of Cyberpunk 2077 was totally to her taste. Why the Cyberpunk trailer ignited her hype, she explains here.
I, Patrick, had several highlights. Battlefield 5 in first place, closely followed by Cyberpunk 2077. I’m also excited about Ori and the Will of Wisps!
Right now, there is a lot of buzz in the gamer community because those who have registered Fortnite on PlayStation cannot play it on Switch anymore. Therefore, fans are now finally demanding crossplay and cross-progression from Sony. However, according to our guest author DevilRon, Sony is doing everything right!
To put itright from the start: No, I am not a “Sony fanboy”! I grew up with the good old Super Nintendo. Then came the GBA, N64, PS2, Xbox, laptop, NDS, PSP, Xbox 360, 3DS, PS4, PS Vita, PC, and finally the Xbox One in pretty much that exact order.
Crossplay as a Constant Topic
For about two years now, a certain discussion has caught my eye in numerous forums again and again. It’s about the topic of “crossplay.” Crossplay between various systems, between mobile phones and PC, between PC and Xbox One, between PC and PS4, and even between PS4 and Xbox One.
Everything should be interconnected as best as possible. The topic is all the rage and has reached a new peak with the announcement of Fortnite on the Switch. Why? Because now everyone can happily play Fortnite together, only Sony refuses to play along, preventing players from landing on a server with players from other consoles.
A shitstorm is brewing: Twitter and other social media are exploding because of this: Numerous players are complaining, denouncing Sony, and throwing insults.
Rightly so? No, I don’t think so. I am, in fact, quite clear in my opinion that Sony is currently doing everything right. Why? I would like to explain this to you with some arguments.
“This is for the players” – Maybe, but it’s about much more…
…namely clearly about money and this is repeatedly forgotten by passionate gamers. Sony or the Sony Corporation is primarily a company that was founded in Japan in 1946 and specializes in entertainment electronics.
A company always pursues economic goals, wants to secure a place on a national or even international level, make a profit, and grow. Sony is achieving this quite well, especially with the PlayStation. This includes nearly every console that bears that name.
There have never been any real flops with PlayStation, even though now and then there were candidates like the PS Vita that did not manage to establish itself particularly successfully in Europe and North America.
Great Numbers for PlayStation
The current console generation around the PS4 is selling tremendously. At the end of 2017, Sony released some numbers indicating that they:
sold 5.9 million console units and over 55.9 million PS4 games during the Christmas season of 2017.
since the launch of the PS4, over 73.6 million PS4 models have found a new home.
Microsoft Clearly at a Disadvantage
The competitor named Microsoft wants to keep the sales figures of Xbox One exact, but mentioned in May 2018 that they observed an increase in sales of about 15%.
However, we get slightly more accurate numbers from EA. The financial manager of EA named Jake Jorgensen commented in the trade magazine “Variety” on the console war we know and mentioned that Microsoft has not even come close to Sony’s sales figures.
It’s assumed that Microsoft has sold around 30 million units in total, which wouldn’t even be half of the 73.6 million achieved by Sony with the PS4.
Why Should Sony Share Its Success?
But what does this have to do with crossplay? Well, the thing is quite simple: Sony and Microsoft want to win over the same customers: namely us gamers. Whether you like it or not, Sony and Microsoft are clearly competitors from an economic point of view.If a company manages to come out on top, why would they want to share with the second-placed? Why would the king want to share his realm? Because that is exactly what could happen with crossplay!
Boundaries Would Blur
I know many friends, for example, who consciously chose the PS4 because they grew up with PlayStation from a young age. Exclusive titles are not even that important to these people, as they “just want to play FIFA or Fortnite anyway.” At the same time, many friends mention that there’s one thing that is clearly better with the Xbox One, namely the controller.
I can’t even count how many times I’ve heard how extraordinarily good this feels. Nevertheless, they don’t want to switch to Microsoft because over time they have built a whole base of social contacts on PlayStation 3 & 4.
Microsoft Would Benefit More from Crossplay than Sony
Let’s assume crossplay is established. What’s stopping these friends from switching to Microsoft? Nothing, because they could play together with old acquaintances from PlayStation times through crossplay and my friends would also still have the better controller in their hands.
Who would win in this situation? Clearly the second-placed, namely Microsoft or number 3 of the consoles, the Nintendo Switch. These two would benefit from the enormous player base that Sony has built over the years with the PS4.
A Risky Game with Little Gain
There would be a shift in power, with Sony also bearing the greatest risk. Of course, it could also happen that Sony could gain players in this process, but why would they want to bet on this rather dangerous hand of cards if they are currently winning?
The players’ response to Sony’s crossplay policy:
Boycott Sony!
Sony will regret this!
Sony will fail!
But let’s be honest, nothing of this is currently felt. Even the falling stock price by 2% cannot yet be attributed to the crossplay debate, as these numbers are too fresh.
At present, there is absolutely no indication that…
Players will actually boycott the PS4 for the foreseeable future.
The sales figures of the PS4 have dropped and customers are switching to consoles that handle crossplay more openly.
Crossplay is more a buying argument for a specific console than, for example, exclusive titles.
Outbursts of Anger are Not Constructive!
For Sony to engage in crossplay, facts must follow and this does not mean angry outbursts on Twitter, but clear changes that prove that crossplay is a very important issue for people. Only then will Sony act.
That Sony does not just want to annoy the players with this crossplay debate and that there are indeed economic goals behind it has already been shown by the past.
Microsoft Would Do the Same!
Final Fantasy 14 can be played without any problems together with people on PC. But why didn’t this game appear for Xbox 360? Naoki Yoshida, producer of the successful title Final Fantasy 14, hinted that the game was also planned for Microsoft’s console, but this idea had to be discarded because the then Xbox 360 did not support crossplay and Microsoft did not want to make changes to its corporate policy.
Back then, Microsoft also didn’t want to Share
Why didn’t Microsoft want to know anything about it back then and today, several years later, is it different? Well, you only have to take a look at the sales figures of 2013 and it becomes clear that there was always a balanced power relationship between the PS3 and the XBOX 360.
Both console manufacturers sold around 77 million units at that time, it was a neck-and-neck race without a real loser. Microsoft saw no reason to tinker with the successful formula as it was enough to win alone.
The Turning Point in the Console War
The Xbox One and PS4 were released in the same year, thus starting the race from the beginning. While Sony clearly focused on video games, Microsoft developed a bit… um “differently”. Who doesn’t remember the presentation of the Xbox One, where nearly only topics like “sports” and “TV” were presented and video games completely fell into the background?

With this strategy, Microsoft failed and fell behind, while Sony was able to gain distance. Of course, Microsoft had to make changes to win back the favor of gamers, who still remember “Always-Online”, “Region-Lock” and further aspects of the planned Xbox One. This led to a breach of trust.
Microsoft Wants to Gain Favor with Gamers Again through Crossplay
So, there are not just one reason why Microsoft is relying on crossplay and it’s not just the clear lead of Sony, but also because they want to win back angry players. This strategy seems to work, because as we can see, it is no longer Microsoft being portrayed as unfriendly towards customers, but Sony, the electronics giant from Japan.
What results this will lead to sooner or later, we do not know. However, I believe that Sony’s current disinterest in crossplay is justifiable at least from an economic perspective. Of course, I can also understand the impulsive behavior of people who vent their frustration on Twitter, etc., but whether this alone will suffice for Sony to make changes, well, I don’t think so.
It also raises the question of whether Microsoft would have reacted differently regarding crossplay if their current console generation were doing significantly better, like in 2013 when the balance between PlayStation and Xbox was significantly more even and they didn’t want to support crossplay with FF14.
I would be very interested in your opinion on this.

Studios with a long tradition in single-player and story are suddenly developing multiplayer online games like Anthem or Fallout 76. It makes financial sense. But at BioWare and Bethesda, it sounds as if they accidentally ended up there, believes our author Schuhmann.
Single players can do well, but not for long: Who still talks about Fallout 4 today? The RPG was released in November 2015, had three or four good months, and faded with some DLCs. Although it was a hit at the time, the revenue dried up relatively quickly.
Multiplayer Games: Indispensable for large publishers
Multiplayer is here to stay: Grand Theft Auto V (2013), on the other hand, is still breaking revenue records years after its release. It has been continuously supplied with content by Rockstar and earned a ton of money through microtransactions. In 2017, Grand Theft Auto V, a game from 2013, was the game with the highest digital revenue on PS4 and Xbox One.
GTA still made the most money in 2017 – years after its release.
Games-as-a-Service are the new “Franchises”
Companies need multiplayer: Therefore, it is economically logical for publishers to focus on multiplayer games. They need steady revenue to finance their ever-growing machinery:
In the past, game companies needed hits – those without hits went under
Until a few years ago, studios needed franchises, popular game series, to survive: They had to turn their hits into “series.” Those without franchises were bought out
Today, publishers are hot for the steady revenue of a games-as-a-service. They need to turn their game series into “pseudo-MMOs” that are continuously developed and generate money through microtransactions
But the companies have a problem: Their audience actually does not want online games.
Bethesda and BioWare – strongholds of storytelling: Especially BioWare and Bethesda are closely associated with terms like “RPG,” “story,” or

The moderators of the subreddit of Battlefield 5 have had enough of posts about historical accuracy – and now threaten with penalties.
What happened? EA and DICE have decided that women will play an important role in the upcoming WW2 shooter Battlefield 5. Some players, especially on Reddit, are unhappy with this decision and are complaining. They are also not happy with the prosthetic arm that was shown in one of the trailers.
This brings up many discussions: In the subreddit of Battlefield 5, everything is currently about historical accuracy. Why that is good, why that is bad and who even needs it.
But that is now over.
Moderators say: Enough with the bullshit
The moderators of the subreddit published the post “We’ve had enough, stop it. New rule: No more whining about historical accuracy. It’s a game, not a history book. Violations of the rule will have consequences.”
In summary, the moderators believe that the community is not capable of having a reasonable conversation about “historical accuracy.” Many have expressed criticism of the features and keep doing so in threads of the subreddit. In most cases, this escalates and ends with insults.
“Hate us as you will, but we have had enough of this bullshit.” In an update, the mods made it clear again, “We are not paid or controlled by EA and DICE and are not affiliated with them.”
Nevertheless, they give users another opportunity to talk about the topic of “Historical Accuracy.” In a mega-thread that was created specifically for this purpose. It has already accumulated 600 comments.
What led to this new rule?
In the past few days, more and more threads from users dissatisfied with the policies of EA and DICE have appeared on Reddit. In their opinion, women should not be in Battlefield 5.
There was this thread from a user who introduced himself as a historian. In his post, he complained that he was labeled as “uneducated.” The background is the statement of EA’s COO Patrick Söderlund, who said that it is the uneducated people who complain about women on the front lines.
The end of the story, which no one could foresee, is that the Reddit user was not a historian at all. He also did not attend the school he mentioned. And well, the Reddit thread has now been deleted. But you can read it on ResetEra.
The Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2 will give Guardians the opportunity to boost their characters to a level that enables them to immediately tackle the new content of the autumn expansion. We have the details on character boosting.
New and returning players will have the chance to elevate their newly created or existing characters to a higher level with the release of the Forsaken add-on in September 2018, allowing them to dive directly into the Forsaken content. A boost feature makes this possible.
Boost lets you start with Forsaken immediately if desired
Here’s how the boost feature works: The boost will function similarly to the Spark of Light – the boost item from Destiny 1. This allowed a new or under-leveled character to be elevated to a higher level, saving a significant portion of the lengthy leveling process.
However, there is a significant difference: While the Spark of Light was a consumable item in the players’ inventory, the Forsaken boost will be an additional option on the character selection screen of Destiny 2. This option will be available when launching the Forsaken expansion on September 4, 2018.
Another difference from the Spark of Light: With the boost option, players not only receive a character boost up to the level cap of the previous DLC but also the ability to skip the campaign and all other Year 1 content. According to Bungie, players will be positioned to immediately dive into all the new Forsaken content without having to clear the old content first.
For newcomers and returnees: New players can thus skip the entire Year 1 content if they wish and immediately plunge into the new content of Forsaken. Returnees get the chance to catch up to the previous power level cap with their main, secondary, or even tertiary character.
Are there any limitations? Everyone who purchases the Forsaken add-on will receive one free character boost. Additional boosts can be purchased if desired. However, details on pricing are not yet known.
