Next week, an exotic gear piece will arrive in The Division 2 . But are new exotic weapons planned as well? “Yes,” says Massive. But there are some caveats.
Here’s the situation: In The Division 2, many “exotic weapons” don’t play as significant a role as they did in the first part. While there are outliers like the “Nemesis”, a very powerful sniper rifle, you can never have enough good Exotics. And the offering in The Division 2 is still somewhat sparse.
On the sidelines of E3 2019, Massive was asked in an interview with Gamesradar whether new Exotics for The Division 2 are planned.
The Nemesis.
This is what Massive says: They say: “There are definitely plans for more exotic weapons and gear throughout the year, yes.”
But designing new exotic items is very labor-intensive. There’s significantly more effort involved than just bringing in more weapons:
“Gear sets and exotic weapons or gear are difficult because there is so much standard equipment, and the expectation for anything beyond that is that it should “bring something,” say the developers.
By “something,” they probably mean the “certain something” that distinguishes Exotics from the rest.
What The Division 2 considers before introducing a new Exotic
What considerations does Massive have regarding Exotics? Before designing a new exotic item, Massive needs to consider: For whom do we want to create the weapon?
Do we want to make it for the people who use spreadsheets and calculate even the smallest DPS gain?
The seemingly ultra-hard and complex action RPG Path of Exile has a new expansion called Legion. There, after just about a week, a player has already reached the new max level. Has the game become too easy and casual now?
What happened? The new expansion Legion for Path of Exile was released on June 11, 2019. Just a few days later, a dedicated player had already reached the new maximum level of 100. And that in hardcore mode, where permadeath exists, and everything is lost after death.
It was also the case that SSF (Solo Self Found) applies. You cannot trade there and must find everything you use by yourself.
It was therefore not possible to trade ideal gear from other players.
Thus, the hardest conditions applied, and yet, just a few days after the release of Legion, the new highest level was reached.
Is Path of Exile becoming too easy or are the players just too good?
Is the game not hardcore enough anymore? Given the fact that after just a few days the maximum level has already been reached, some players are slowly skeptical about whether Path of Exile is becoming too easy.
After all, such accomplishments should take many weeks and months. How can it be that it went so quickly? Is the once highly praised, ultra-hard action RPG alternative now following the path of Diablo 3, i.e., the game that many PoE players vehemently reject due to its alleged casualness?
That’s why the player was so successful: However, the fortunate master of the maximum level was not just any casual bob, but Steelmage202 from Method.
This ambition was likely also at work in Path of Exile, and Steelmage202 has been grinding for hours with great dedication using a particularly effective build.
He primarily uses damage-over-time effects, which he distributes across numerous enemies, who then gradually perish miserably while further damaging their comrades. This is how he grinds through high-level instances.
He kills simply like on an assembly line and does not take much time with looting and other distractions. Thus, he earns XP at a crazy speed and can level up continuously.

That’s why Path of Exile seems to have become easier: The game itself still seems quite tough, it was simply an extremely strong, ambitious player. Nevertheless, it has become less difficult to go wild in Path of Exile.
Because the developers no longer nerf overpowered builds as strongly as they used to, there are better items from league to league, and the overall skill of the players is steadily increasing. Those who have been around for a long time know the systems and can adapt faster than before.
Thus, it is less about the supposed ease of the game, but rather about the rising skill and better equipment of the players that makes Path of Exile seem too easy for some now.
At E3 2019, YouTuber Arekkz was able to try out a demo version of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and fight against two new monsters: Tigrex and Banbaro.
What was shown at E3 about Iceborne? Visitors of the E3 fair had the opportunity to fight against two of the new monsters from the Iceborne expansion. These were the new monster Banbaro and the fan-favorite Tigrex.
Their quests were ranked in difficulty such that Banbaro was recommended for advanced players and Tigrex only for true professionals. Less experienced hunters could take on the good old Great Jagras and beat it to a pulp.
What can be seen in the videos? Arekkz was able to record his fights against both Banbaro and Tigrex. Besides the short intro, the videos are completely unedited, and you can watch the fights in all their action-packed glory.

As the fight against Tigrex was the most difficult in the demo, Arekkz teamed up with three other players. They used the following weapons:
Sword and Shield
Switch Axe
Long Sword
Hunting Horn
Various perspectives were captured during the fight. You can see how the different weapons play in a real combat situation and check out the new combos.

Arekkz, however, faced Banbaro alone. Here, he uses the energy blade and also takes advantage of the new practical slingshot mechanic, which allows you to draw closer to monsters.
You can also see how Banbaro uses elements from the environment, such as rocks or tree trunks, to attack the hunter.

The new shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently still in a “Pre-Alpha” stage. Hearing this made some players so nervous that a developer from Infinity Ward had to step in to clarify.
This is how Call of Duty appeared at E3: Activision Blizzard did not have its own conference at E3 2019 and did not make much of an appearance at Microsoft either. Therefore, the major games from Activision like Destiny or Modern Warfare held smaller talk sessions, from which some nuggets of information were extracted.
A statement from Infinity Ward during E3 caused unrest in the community.
A developer said, while discussing cross-play, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is still in the “Pre-Alpha” phase, so still relatively early in development. He used that as an excuse for not being able to make definitive statements.

This is how parts of the community reacted: The statement spread across social media. After all, the release is already on October 25: There is not much time left and “Pre-Alpha” sounds far from a release in the ears of the players.
Unrest arose. There was a video in the community where a YouTuber said he was very concerned (via YouTube). The topic has been brewing a bit over the last few days.
Tour de Force, but as far along as previous titles
This is how Infinity Ward now reacts: A developer spoke up on Friday at Reddit to provide clarification. He says it is his 4th Call of Duty and the 9th game in his career. So he has some experience.
There are parts of the game that are already in alpha, and others are before alpha and content lock. This is because the departments work differently. It is a huge undertaking to bring the entire game into alpha, and until Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reaches the point where one can say: “We are now content locked.”
Between alpha and beta, it will still be polished, bugs will be fixed and they will look for ways to improve the game, the developer continues.
Since the production of Modern Warfare started, they have been developing with the latest technologies and have never taken a moment for granted.
This is how players react to the explanation: The players on Reddit seem satisfied with the explanation and praise the developer for the open communication, which has dispelled some concerns.
Others say, however, that one can only really assess everything once the game is actually out.
This is behind it: When players hear “Pre-Alpha”, they think of early access games from indie developers that remain stagnant for years and make only little progress. These “openly developed games” that rely on crowdfunding are developed differently: they have to show early to generate revenue.
You don’t normally hear such terms as “Pre-Alpha” from AAA studios because games in this state are not talked about. However, for developers at a AAA studio, “Pre-Alpha” apparently is a term without much emotion and merely means: “More content is coming.”
The heated discussion shows, however, that many players are still uncertain about Modern Warfare currently as no gameplay has been shown yet – especially the multiplayer mode is still completely missing.
XL Games, the studio behind the popular MMORPG ArcheAge, is currently working with Moonlight Sculptor on a new online game. This offers a very interesting story.
What is Moonlight Sculptor? The new MMORPG from XL Games and Kakao Games will be released for smartphones, but is expected to offer a large, open game world. The online game was announced back in 2016, and now we can see the first artworks.
The developers are currently holding back on details about the features. However, it is said that players will enjoy great freedom in the open world.
The developers are known among other things for ArcheAge. An iconic race of the game, the Firran, can be seen in the title image and was used here as a symbol image.
An artwork from the mobile MMORPG Moonlight Sculptor.
An MMORPG with a novel basis
What is special about the game? Moonlight Sculptor is based on the South Korean novel series “The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor”. These novels tell an interesting story.
What are the books about? In the books, Lee Hyun tries to pay off his family’s debts. He is a very successful player of the MMORPG “Continent of Magic” and eventually sells his powerful character “Weed” at an auction for 3.1 billion Won, which equals about 2.3 million Euros.
However, he loses almost all the money to loan sharks. Now he is trying to earn enough money with the new VR MMORPG Royal Road to help his sick grandmother and pay for his sister’s education.
In Royal Road, he also achieves great success. As one of the few, he gains access to the secret class “Legendary Moonlight Sculptor” and is allowed to post his videos of the MMORPG online as one of only 500 players.
During his adventures in Royal Road, he meets many interesting players and even manages to become the “Greatest Ruler of the North”.
Moonlight Sculptor is based on a South Korean novel series.
An MMO in a VR world?
What could this story mean for the online game? It seems that we also play a character who finds himself in the MMORPG Royal Road and explores the world there, wanting to go far. So similar to Sword Art Online.
What is there to see so far about the MMORPG? First artworks show colorful landscapes and cute characters typical for Asian MMORPGs.
When will the game be released? Moonlight Sculptor is expected to be released this year in Korea for mobile devices. There is currently no information about a release in Europe and the USA.
The Classic version of World of Warcraft will do a few things differently than the current retail version – for example, it will have different names for places.
The beta of WoW Classic has been running for quite a while, but the German player community has been asking one question for some time: Will the Classic version of World of Warcraft also use the “old” names? In the past, places like “Ironforge” were not yet known, as they simply had the English name “Ironforge”.
After a long silence, Blizzard’s localization team has finally responded and clarified: Yes, WoW Classic will also use the old English names!
Localization has changed over the years: The way World of Warcraft is localized has changed significantly over the years. This is also explained by the Community Manager Toschayju in the German forum:
Throughout the history of World of Warcraft, our localization process has changed significantly. This includes translating certain words and phrases. For WoW Classic, we want to retain the original localization of the game as much as possible and create a player experience that feels authentic and true to its origins. For example, you may visit Bloodhoof instead of the village of Bluthufe, and you will encounter the dwarves of the Stormpike Expedition instead of the dwarves of Sturmlanzen.
There were discussions back then: Just before the release of “The Burning Crusade”, Blizzard decided to fully localize the game into the respective languages to create a linguistically uniform game world. This resulted in many places and terms being “Germanized”. While this barely went unnoticed for some names like “Whisperwind” (which became Wisperwind), it was more obvious for names like Proudmoore (which became Prachtmeer).
So the name remains “Thunder Bluff” and not “Donnerfels”.
Tyrande Whisperwind – authentic with the h!
This did not please everyone and already sparked fierce discussions back then. For some, the original names were something important, they were considered “proper names”. Others only understood why the world had previously been translated half-heartedly and were happy that finally all places and names had a German term.
The money saved for the trip to visit family was spent by the nephew and niece on tons of in-game currency in Fortnite: Battle Royale.
What are V-Bucks? This is the in-game currency of Fortnite. With these V-Bucks, you can buy outfits, gliders, battle passes, or other cosmetic items. The cheaper items can be bought for 500 V-Bucks (about 5 €). Extravagant items can cost as much as 2,000 V-Bucks, which is about 20 €.
The purchased items do not provide any gameplay advantage. It’s only about cosmetic changes that represent the played character or their weapons and vehicles differently than usual.
How did the kids get the money? On Reddit, user A_Sad_Frog1 shares their experience in the “Today I fucked up” subreddit.
Because his nephew and niece do not own many games on their PSN account, the Reddit user (their uncle) let them play on his PSN account. Since all payments require a verification number, he was sure that they could not buy games using his bank information.
The kids apparently bypassed this security measure by first filling the PSN account wallet with money. As A_Sad_Frog1 writes, this payment did not require a verification number. Afterwards, the kids could buy V-Bucks with the PSN wallet money – without verification.
The problem was only noticed after 65,000 V-Bucks had already been purchased. The father of the nephew contacted the Reddit user and asked, “Your nephew is currently playing Fortnite and has 65,000 V-Bucks. Is that normal?” Over the course of a week, the children spent this amount of in-game currency.
In total, $531 was deducted over the course of a week. Most of it happened yesterday. When I wanted to check the damage caused, 20,000 V-Bucks had already been spent.
I saw that the PlayStation wallet can be topped up before every purchase. So they probably paid by first buying wallet currency, which apparently did not require a code.
A_Sad_Frog1 on Reddit
A_Sad_Frog1 found these bookings in his PSN account
A_Sad_Frog1 then immediately disconnected all bank accounts from the account. After his search, he concluded that there was no way to get his money back. The bank could not retrieve it, and the PlayStation Store had no protection against accidental purchases.
Why wasn’t this noticed earlier? Many users on Reddit state that you are notified by email when purchases are made with the PSN account. A_Sad_Frog1 agrees that such emails exist. However, his PSN account is linked to an email that does not send notifications to his smartphone.
What was the money planned for? The situation worsens, as the money was taken from an account that the girlfriend of uncle A_Sad_Frog1 used for her savings.
She is visiting her family in America and had saved this money for that purpose. They had planned many activities together, which she will now likely be unable to participate in.
What happens now? It seems there is hope for this case. In the comments on Reddit, user zemorah writes:
“You can get a refund!
Who told you that you can’t? In the PlayStation Store, there is a one-time (as in once in your life) chargeback for exactly these cases. I know this because my son did the same thing. He spent about $400. I called PlayStation, and it took about 30 minutes to clarify the situation. After a few days, I had all my money back.”
Additionally, the community coordinator of Fortnite, “MrPopoTFS”, spoke in the thread and offered his help. Together they plan to work on a solution. Whether the money will be back in time for the vacation and if the trip can still take place as planned is still unclear.
This has succeeded, and now a new event awaits all players tomorrow.
Global Challenge Event starts tomorrow – All info
What are the bonuses? During the event, you can hatch eggs faster and earn more candies. So there are:
Double candy when catching Pokémon
Double candy when hatching Pokémon
Eggs can hatch twice as fast
There is always a guaranteed special candy from raids
How long does the event last? From tomorrow, June 18 at 10 PM, until June 25 at 10 PM, the bonuses are active. You have a whole week.
This additional bonus is available: Because each team has completed its specific task, there is also an additional bonus.
Raikou will return to raids and will appear as shiny. The exact time will be announced later, but you can expect a raid day. There, Raikou will return for 3 hours and appear in every gym.
Are there special Pokémon? No special spawns have been announced so far. So it may be that you have the normal spawns, where you can still earn with the known bonuses.
What was done for this? All weekend, players diligently completed numerous quests. Each team had to complete a total of 15 million field research tasks. Players at the GO Fest had to solve 1 million quests.
This is what the tasks looked like at the end of the weekend.
All teams have succeeded, which is why there are now global rewards.

In the current episode of Star Trek Online, Commander Landry from the Netflix series Star Trek Discovery plays an important role. Therefore, we were able to entice the original actress and voice actress Rekha Sharma to a little interview.
Warning: The following text contains spoilers for the first season of Star Trek Discovery!
Who is Rekha Sharma?Rekha Sharma is a Canadian actress of Indian descent. She has appeared in several sci-fi films and series, including Battlestar Galactica, V – The Visitors, The 100, and Aliens vs. Predator 2.
Who is Commander Landry? In Star Trek Discovery, Rekha Sharma played Commander Landry, the tough chief of security of the Discovery and right hand of Captain Lorca.
Rekha Sharma
Unfortunately, Commander Landry’s appearances are very few. The brave woman soon falls victim to a giant tardigrade and is brutally torn apart.
MeinMMO: Do you play online games or MMORPGs? And if so, have you ever played Star Trek Online and how did you like it?
Rekha Sharma: I haven’t played it yet. I game very little … I prefer to perform for other people. I enjoy it so much that I’ve made a career out of it.
MeinMMO:Are you a fan of Star Trek or science fiction in general?
Rekha Sharma: Yes, I am! I discovered the original series as a child through my brother. I grew up as a little non-white girl in a very white neighborhood, and the series made a lasting impression on me. I am an idealist, a dreamer, and an Aquarius.
That was the first time I saw the vision of a future without racism or other forms of discrimination. I was thrilled. I have seen a lot of ‘The Next Generation’, then DS9 and Voyager. That stopped when I got older and ‘cooler’ … now it’s really a relief to be totally UN-COOL again! HA HA!
MeinMMO: What can you tell us about your role as Commander Landry? What is your personal opinion of her? Did you enjoy playing her?
Rekha Sharma: I think Landry was a good soul full of hope and visions, which is why she joined Starfleet. I think what happened on the Buran was traumatizing. It was war (Battle of the Binary Stars), so she could never really process it.
And while she was in such a weakened state, she was further manipulated and misled by Mirror-Lorca. She had SEVERE Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
It is always an honor to embody another soul … no matter how painful that can sometimes be. She was also fun: She’s tough, never gives up, and has a dark, dry humor.
MeinMMO: How did you feel when you first heard about her final fate?
Rekha Sharma: I was traumatized myself! LOL. It was shocking. For all of us! We all understood each other so incredibly well that we didn’t want to say ‘Goodbye’ … but at least we will always have that connection, and maybe one day I can return in some way.
This is the creature that killed Landry in the series.
Star Trek is truly a family. I am grateful to be a part of it.
MeinMMO: How did you feel when you heard that you could play her again after her part in the series ended?
Rekha Sharma: EXCITED!
MeinMMO: What are the differences between Commander Landry on television and in the game?
Rekha Sharma: She is open, naive, in love … and then she has PTSD and has to deal with it and survive. When we see her on the Discovery, she is trying to do this with tireless discipline.
MeinMMO: Do you have any cool anecdotes from the Discovery set or the recordings for the game?
Rekha Sharma: STO treated me so well … there were donuts for me in the recording studio! Ha ha!
Here are more Star Trek interviews: We previously interviewed a voice actor from Star Trek Online. Find out here why the actor behind Dr. Bashir doesn’t play Star Trek Online:
A 16-year-old boy has been shot in the USA. He and his father met with two men to sell an Xbox One. However, the deal turned out to be a robbery that had terrible consequences.
On Wednesday, a 16-year-old from Merriville, Indiana, was murdered. He and his father had driven about 15 minutes from Gary, Indiana, to meet with two men. The boy had previously met them online through a sales app.
He wanted to sell the two men his “Xbox One Elite” console for $250 to buy himself a new phone.
This was the ad he used to sell his Xbox One. Source: Fox32
As Gamerant reports, father and son arrived in Gary and met with two men. They led them to a house that was unoccupied. However, the father and son were not aware of this.
The boy plugged the Xbox into an outdoor socket so that the sellers could verify that the console was working. That was when the father noticed that one of the two supposed buyers was carrying a firearm.
Father and son then fled, but the son reached for the console while the father shouted at him to just run away.
The son was shot in the back, but managed to make it to his father’s car. According to his mother, the boy still said, “Dad, I’m hit” and died shortly after. The boy was sitting in the passenger seat, still holding his Xbox One in his arms when the police arrived.
The autopsy revealed that the boy died from a gunshot wound, and the death is classified as a homicide. The father was unharmed, according to the police.
The two men are described as being in their early 20s or late teens, wearing basketball shorts, one in a black hoodie and the other in a white one.
The mother says, “They killed my son for nothing.”
One day after the boy was shot, his driver’s license was in the mail.

A small change in the upcoming patch of World of Warcraft will ruin island expeditions for level groups. That is fully intentional by Blizzard.
Anyone who wants to bring a second or third character in World of Warcraft to level 120 might level through island expeditions. This gives a lot of XP and is relatively quick. However, those who rely on premium twinks for help will soon find themselves out of luck. An XP penalty will ensure that island expeditions will no longer be worthwhile for such players in patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara.
What was the problem? Many players used twinks at level 110 who still had legendary items and their artifact weapon from “Legion.” With the best possible gear, they activated an XP stop, so they would not gain experience points. Since enemies in island expeditions scale with the players’ level, these “super-twinks” could clear islands solo. Two other characters that needed to be leveled quickly just had to follow along and could be showered with experience points.
Many players also used these super-twinks to quickly level other players from level 110 to 120 for gold.
What exactly will change? From now on, all players will receive a debuff when a teammate activates the XP stop on island expeditions. The experience gained will then be reduced by a whopping 95%, making it virtually nonexistent.
Why is Blizzard making this change? There has been no official statement from Blizzard on this so far. Considering previous statements from the developers, it seems that the reason is that they want the respective content to be played. The “turbo leveling” through island expeditions with super twinks was probably just too effective and did not align with how Blizzard envisions the leveling experience for players.
Normal island expeditions are unaffected: Anyone who wants to level “normally” through island expeditions, that is, who plays with other characters that have not activated a level stop, will continue to receive the full experience points. So nothing will change for these players.
The change goes live with patch 8.2. There is no exact release date for it yet, but it is expected to be released in a few weeks.
What do you think about this change to island expeditions? Is it a sensible adjustment because an exploit was previously being abused? Or is it a typical case of “fun detected” where Blizzard strikes again?
The Destiny universe still has some secrets up its sleeve: A developer recently asked on Twitter about the most popular examples of assets being reused in games. A former developer from Bungie responded, declaring that Raid boss Aksis in Destiny 1 isn’t actually a boss, but a vehicle.
Which boss are we talking about? On Twitter, developer Xalavier Nelsen Jr. recently asked fans and colleagues for their favorite examples of how studios have reused existing models or other assets in games. Several users responded and shared exciting or funny stories about “recycling.”
One of them was Kelly Snyder, who worked at Bungie during the time of Destiny 1. She revealed that Bungie got a bit creative with Aksis, the boss from the Wrath of the Machine raid, and repurposed existing designs.
Here is Aksis in retrospect prior to the launch of Destiny 2
Aksis was, in the story of Destiny 1, a former Archon Priest of the Fallen who merged with SIVA and emerged as Archon-Primus. The leader of the Devil Splicers had six legs and moved similar to a vehicle that already existed in the game.
What’s wrong with the boss? If Aksis’s description sounds familiar, you’re right: Bungie used existing runners, the tanks of the Fallen, as the base for the boss.
According to Kelly Snyder, this is also the reason why Three of Coins never worked on Aksis. The boss isn’t actually a boss but a vehicle.
Three of Coins were a consumable in Destiny 1 that Guardians could purchase from Xur, which increased the chances of exotic engrams.
Protheon, inflated to three times its size due to a bug
Why is so much being recycled? In the Twitter post, many developers present their own tricks and reused assets. This shows that it is no longer a phenomenon that only affects Bungie.
Reusing assets, or “recycling,” is an important tool for designers to create content efficiently. Designing and animating “new assets” consumes immense amounts of time.
If developers were to give up reusing assets, there would likely be even fewer game contents than there already are.
A jacket from Cyberpunk 2077 for a proud $400. But one shouldn’t jump in, even the folks from CD Projekt Red say so.
Whoever is a big fan of Cyberpunk 2077 wants to stock up on merchandise properly. Right now, such a desire could be fulfilled on eBay, as there are currently several jackets from Cyberpunk 2077 for sale. The origin is probably E3.
What does the jacket look like? The jacket is in the typical colors of Cyberpunk, so bright yellow on one side and black on the other. On the back is the Cyberpunk logo, but also the logo of Johnny Silverhand’s band, so “Samurai” can be found there. Overall, it’s a pretty cool piece of merchandise that is currently quite rare.
Where do the jackets come from? The jackets were probably intended during E3 to be distributed to employees of CD Projekt Red, some VIPs, or certain media representatives. Apparently, however, a few people with other intentions managed to grab the jacket and are now trying to sell these jackets for a profit. The price fluctuates between $200 and $450 – it is likely to increase even further.
What does CD Projekt Red say? Rafal Jaki from CD Projekt Red advised players and fans on Twitter not to buy the jacket for $400 or more on eBay. There is a plan to offer a similar jacket in the future. Although there is no fixed date or price yet, it should be “soon” and probably “under $400”.

This fall, Destiny 2 is all about change as it comes to two new platforms: Steam and Google’s Stadia. As Bungie announced in a recent FAQ, however, players on Stadia will be isolated. The platform will build its own ecosystem and won’t offer crossplay with Steam.
What’s happening in Destiny 2? This fall, several changes are on the agenda for Destiny 2. After Bungie’s split from Activision, there will be some new features around the game:
With Stadia, Destiny 2 is arriving on a completely new platform. Bungie has already provided details about player interaction in an FAQ regarding Stadia.
What about Stadia? According to Bungie, Stadia will not offer crossplay with Steam or other platforms, namely PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Stadia is its own ecosystem, just like the existing systems.
However, all platforms are expected to have Cross-Save. As Community Manager Cozmo states, when Cross-Save launches, players will select an account whose progress will be shared across all linked platforms.
What does Bungie say? Mark Noseworthy, the General Manager of Bungie, has already commented on this decision on Twitter. The studio would love to bring crossplay to Destiny 2 on all platforms. There are no guidelines or technological barriers preventing this on Stadia.
Bungie would like to include every platform in crossplay. However, this year they want to focus entirely on the Cross-Save feature for PS4, Xbox One, Steam, and Stadia.
At least there were separate press conferences from Bethesda and Square Enix, so there were also updates regarding their major MMORPGs The Elder Scrolls Online and Final Fantasy XIV:
When the first users complained on reddit about MMORPGs: Phantasy Star Online 2 is now way too old, someone replied: “Aren’t you all excited about WoW Classic at the same time” – that’s almost 10 years older. That person became the hero of the hour.

From the perspective of MMORPG fans, E3 has been sparse for years. Fans often hope for an announcement, only to be disappointed. This time, online role-players actually expected nothing and received three surprises and two regular news updates. A good E3 for the content MMORPG fans, says our author Schuhmann.
This is how E3 is for MMORPG fans: Not so great. In recent years, hardly any new MMORPGs have been presented and the MMORPGs that came are indie games that do not make it to the fair.
At E3 2018, there was nothing from Asia – no Project TL or Lost Ark. There were no updates on the console port of Blade and Soul or the new airship MMO A:IR.
Anyone who hoped that one of the indie MMORPGs like Crowfall or Ashes of Creation would have a big appearance was also disappointed. Not even Amazon made the effort with their New World.
Since E3 2018, nothing exciting has really happened with any of these games for 12 months. We now know that New World is not an MMORPG but a type of survival MMO.
Therefore, we decided to completely skip the “E3 2019 Preview for MMORPGs” at MeinMMO this time and were then surprised.
These were the usual things: There were two E3 news updates that were clearly expected.
Without much fanfare, just as we MMORPG fans have now come to expect.
When the first users complained on reddit about MMORPGs: Phantasy Star Online 2 is now way too old, someone replied: “Aren’t you all excited about WoW Classic at the same time” – that’s almost 10 years older. That person became the hero of the hour.

Lost Ark, Project TL, and perhaps Ashes of Creation and Lost Ark are currently the most interesting new MMORPGs to anticipate – and they will probably just come to us, without a big CGI trailer at E3 and without Keanu Reeves.

At least there were separate press conferences from Bethesda and Square Enix, so there were also updates regarding their major MMORPGs The Elder Scrolls Online and Final Fantasy XIV:

Many players in Fallout 76 do not just want to play the game itself, but also want to portray a special character. One of these “special” players is TighteyWhiteyMan, who stays true to his name and brings joy to his fellow players while wearing only white underwear.
Which player is it about? TighteyWhiteyMan is the character of a player who, true to his name, traverses the wasteland of Fallout 76 dressed only in his underwear. TighteyWhiteyMan has now reached level 65 in the game, having started during the beta with FO76.
In particular, he had a lot of trouble dealing with quests and his enemies in the early levels. For TighteyWhiteyMan, the name is the program: he always wears only his white underwear.
The character TighteyWhiteyMan in all his glory. Source: Reddit
For example, shortly after leaving the vault, he met a player who saved his life: TighteyWhiteyMan was near death when a stranger “came to him like an angel” and provided him with medicine, weapons, and ammunition.
Another time, a player entered TighteyWhiteyMan’s CAMP and introduced himself as the “Morgantown Building Inspector.” He wanted to ensure that the player’s constructions met general standards. The inspector had many complaints that TighteyWhiteyMan either had to fix or face a fine of 25 caps.
TighteyWhiteyMan has also faced the mother of this Scorchbeast.
Why the underwear? The reason he now runs around in white underwear is due to a silly mistake. Once, he accidentally sold the clothes he was wearing to a vendor. But he didn’t realize it and wandered around for hours in just his underwear.
His fellow players then gave TighteyWhiteyMan only positive feedback, which prompted him to create a new character that would only run around in underwear.
After his early game problems, which he solved by sticking to the starting area of Morgantown until level 30, TighteyWhiteyMan is now even taking on end bosses.
With his build consisting of Barbarian, Adamantium Skeleton, Ironclad, Rad Resistant, Lone Wanderer, and Junk Shield, he has already helped take down a Scorchbeast Queen.
In Pokémon GO you can earn 75,000 Stardust at once again tomorrow. We will tell you what you need to do for that.
Why is there so much dust? This is still related to the Adventure Week of Pokémon GO. There were special rewards for Adventure Sync. The rewards are still available this week and you can collect them again next Monday, June 17.
We will show you how to even increase these rewards and thus collect over 75,000 Stardust.
Collect 75,000 Stardust – Here’s how
Are there any requirements? These rewards are only available for players who have walked over 50 kilometers during the week. That’s what the reward is for.
What does the reward look like? You will receive bonuses for which you would otherwise have to play quite a long time. So there are:
50,000 Stardust
15 Rare Candies
In addition, there are the rewards of the other tiers. So you will receive a total of 76,500 Stardust, because you also get Stardust for 25 kilometers.
How to get even more dust: You can even multiply the Stardust. To do this, you need to activate a Star Piece just before the rewards are given out. This multiplies the bonus by 1.5.
The rewards are always given out at 9 AM on Monday. Make sure to activate a Star Piece at 8:50 AM to avoid any issues.
The bonus is still available thanks to Adventure Week 2019
Why is there still a bonus this week? Originally, it was said that the bonus would only last for one week. However, because Pokémon GO is experiencing issues with Adventure Sync, there is still a lot of Stardust available this week.
What other rewards are there? The rewards for Adventure Sync are otherwise significantly smaller. So for 50 kilometers, you only collect 5,000 Stardust. So you are getting the bonus multiplied by ten.
Have you heard about the big crackdown on cheaters?
The makers of the Final Fantasy VII remake have a unique way of motivating themselves. They watch fan reactions. One YouTuber is brought to tears.
There has been a tradition of “reaction videos” on YouTube for some time now. These are clips where (mostly) well-known YouTubers can be seen watching something – a game or a trailer – and then reacting more or less live to it and sharing their opinions.
This is often quite entertaining or emotional, and sometimes also helpful for the developers.
A fan of the Final Fantasy VII remake got to experience that the developers apparently draw creative energy from exactly such reaction videos.
What happened? YouTuber Maximilian Dood was at the E3 2019 and was able to view the new teasers for the Final Fantasy VII remake. Some of the developers were also present. The developers apparently recognized him, as Maximilian noticed that they looked at him from time to time and seemed to talk about him.
After the announcements, Maximilian then tried to get a video with the developers and he succeeded. During this, he received information that completely threw him off balance: Whenever there is a tough time in the development of Final Fantasy VII, the developers would watch their “reaction video” to the original announcement of the remake together. The joy from this gives them the strength and motivation to do their best at work.

This is how the YouTuber reacted to this revelation: The realization that the developers draw strength and inspiration from exactly his video apparently overwhelmed Maximilian Dood so much that he started to cry during the stream and even had to pause the video briefly. For him, this was apparently a very emotional experience.
In summary, it’s a really nice story that shows that developers can also draw positive energy from comments, suggestions, and reactions.
What do you think of this little story? Do you find the YouTuber’s reaction understandable?

You participated actively in the survey and also left some comments, providing us with a fairly good picture of which classes are popular and unpopular among our community.
Not surprisingly, the epitome of a classic MMORPG tank has landed in first place – the Warrior. Meanwhile, at the bottom of the list is the Paladin, who could attract only a few fans.
The result of the survey.
The three most popular classes in WoW Classic
Let’s start with the three classes that made it to the podium and seem to have left a good and positive impression on many players.
The most popular class is the Warrior: With 15% of the votes cast, the Warrior clearly landed in first place. This is probably mainly due to the fact that Warriors in Classic were synonymous with the word “Tank” for most players. When searching for a solid tank, most would have automatically envisioned a Warrior.
Because there was no dungeon finder at that time and there were always too few tanks, Warriors were very popular and often had a server-wide reputation if they were solid players. Apparently, many WoW fans wish to see this return and hope to fill this role.
Rogues sneak into second place: Rogues can be found in second place. In Classic, they were particularly feared in PvP. They could take down many squishies with one or two hits while the latter were regenerating in the battleground. In dungeons and raids, their damage output was also quite solid, making them an excellent choice for quickly chewing through the opponents’ health bars.
Besides, everyone needs at least one good rogue friend to send lockpicks to, right?
Mages land in third place: Close behind the rogue is the Mage. With 13% of the votes, the spellcasting glass cannons landed in third place. Mages were the epitome of damage in Classic. Whether it was big fireballs or frostbolts, Mages could deal significant damage.
But even outside of “pure damage”, Mages were useful and had extremely many abilities that could ease the life of a group. They couldn’t just turn enemies into helpless sheep, but thanks to counterspell, they could also disrupt enemy spellcasters. Plus, they saved the group’s wallet since they could conjure food. Oh, and then there were portals that allowed for quick travel around the world.
Mages could do many things. So many that a large part of our readers wants to play Mages again.
The three least popular classes in WoW Classic
The survey seems to confirm the general perception of Classic regarding the classes.
Shamans in third last place: With only 9% of the votes, Shamans land in 3rd place, although many of you wrote in the comments that you want to play a Shaman. This outcome is likely primarily due to Shamans only being available on the Horde side, making them uninteresting to nearly 50% of players.
At least, Shamans are still significantly ahead of Paladins, who received far fewer votes.
Druids are even less popular: With 8% of the votes, Druids landed in second to last place. There are several reasons for this. Druids are severely limited in their choice of races – if you don’t want to play a night elf or a tauren, you’re out of luck.
Druids also had a hard time in Classic. While they could do everything, they didn’t excel at anything. In raids, they were often included merely to provide mana to “real” healers or to have a battle rez available. By the way, that was the only resurrection that Druids could provide. If a player met their demise, the Druid couldn’t revive them. A significant issue for a healer, which prolonged dungeon visits.
Druids were hybrids and could do a little bit of everything – but in every area, there was at least one class that was significantly better at specialized tasks. Many Druid fans apparently have not forgotten this.
Paladin is the least popular class: In the last place, the Paladin ended up with only 6% of the votes cast. There are likely many reasons for this. One of the critical problems might be that the Paladin can only be played on the Alliance side, making it immediately unappealing to all Horde fans. However, there’s still a large gap compared to the Shaman fans, who are significantly more represented. This could be related to the fact that Paladins in Classic were a class with (from today’s perspective) rather absurd mechanics.
It was not uncommon for Paladins to wear a mix of cloth, leather, chain, and plate armor to achieve the best possible stats as healers.
At the same time, it happened that Paladins “couldn’t do anything right” – in some raids, they were merely buff machines that provided their group with enhancement spells.
Did the outcome match your expectations? Or did you think a certain class would turn out to be more popular or unpopular?
