The Singleplayer in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
After the current “Call of Duty” installment Black Ops 4 did not include a campaign, the new Modern Warfare will feature a classic single-player campaign.
The campaign is said to shock the world public and be very controversial. It is likely to rely heavily on “disturbing, emotionally realistic moments,” as reported by Kotaku. The campaign is said to be strongly inspired by the well-known and controversial mission “No Russian” from Modern Warfare 2, where terrorists commit a massacre at an airport.
It’s about: As a member of various military special forces, it is against global threats – including a renegade Russian general and his minions as well as a terrorist militia from the Middle East. During the operations, you will have access to a rich arsenal of currently standard weapons.
GameStar was already able to play a few missions. Among them was a bombing attack on London’s Piccadilly Circus.
The scenes are said to be unsettling, with terrorists firing wildly into larger crowds. You are said to build an emotional connection to the characters.

The Setting in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
This time it’s different: The 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a reboot of the popular Modern Warfare series. Specifically, this means: The storyline from Modern Warfare 1 to 3 has not taken place in the new Modern Warfare!
And this remains the same: Only the modern military setting in the present remains. However, throughout the game, players are supposed to encounter well-known characters from the previous Modern Warfare series and fight alongside them – for example, the iconic Captain Price from the British S.A.S. A series favorite.
How does the new Call of Duty look? GameStar describes during their visit a noticeable upgrade in graphics. Better animations, lighting, and particle effects are said to make for a more beautiful Call of Duty. And through photogrammetry, it appears more realistic. This is a technique that transfers images from real environments into 3D models.
The PC version also benefits from ray tracing, the new hype technology in graphics. This would make floating smoke and dust look particularly impressive.
And the Multiplayer in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare?
Aside from the statement from Activision CEO Rob Kostich that the new Modern Warfare will have a massive and expandable multiplayer world as well as fun Co-op gameplay, there is currently nothing further known about the multiplayer part. More details are expected to follow here.
One piece of news that is also interesting for multiplayer: The new Modern Warfare will have a character editor where you can customize your soldier.
The cool part: Everything you unlock in Modern Warfare – whether weapons or outfits – can be used across all areas of the game.
