At the end of June 2019, the two auto-chess games Dota Underlords and Teamfight Tactics were released. Both were very successful at the beginning but are now struggling with different issues.
How did the release of the two games go? Dota Underlords and Teamfight Tactics were both launched very close together. Valve’s auto-chess game started its open beta on June 20, while Riot Games followed with TFT in Europe on June 26.
Which game is more successful? On Twitch and also in terms of overall media interest, Teamfight Tactics has been leading significantly. This is also shown in the overview provided by Google Trends below.
However, you cannot make an accurate statement about player numbers, as there is no separate figure for TFT.

But both games are currently struggling with declining interest:
Dota Underlords had an average of 32,246 players in the last 30 days according to Steamcharts, while in the entire month of July, there were still 58,456.
Teamfight Tactics, on the other hand, lost 40% of its average viewers on Twitch in the last 14 days according to Sullygnomes. Where 40,000 people were watching daily in the two weeks prior, now only 23,600 are left.
Where are the issues? Both games initially benefited from a massive hype that has since worn off. However, both also have their own individual problems.
Dota Underlords is currently experiencing an identity crisis, while Teamfight Tactics has released many new features but neglected a crucial aspect.
Therefore, we will take a closer look at the problems of both games and their plans for the future.
Dota Underlords in an Identity Crisis
What is the main problem with Underlords? Underlords was developed from the outset for both PC and mobile. However, this has led to a real identity crisis.
While visually and from the interface, the PC version resembles a mobile game, the rounds simply take far too long to be played on the go.
Typically, players spend 10 or 20 minutes on a mobile game while commuting or during breaks. However, a round of Dota Underlords can easily take up to 50 minutes. Clearly too long for a mobile game.
What is currently happening with Underlords? Even though the numbers have declined, Dota Underlords is still ranked 13th in the Steam charts. It still has a large fanbase.
Updates are also being released regularly. On August 30, the auto chess game received a brand new tactical component. You can now build barricades and structures that influence the gameplay.

The former Chelsea forward has become a legend in London and has many fans. Accordingly, his card is likely to be quite pricey.
Zinedine Zidane
This is how strong Zidane will be: Zinedine Zidane is one of the cover stars of FIFA 20 and should also be an absolute star on the pitch. The Frenchman and current coach of Real Madrid was also high on the fans’ wish list.
Zidane’s stats are brutal. His weakest card already has a rating of 91, while the strongest will have a score of 96. The card is so strong that some fans on reddit are already talking about it being too strong.
This does not diminish the excitement for the card itself. At least concerning one’s own team – since as much as one would like to have Zidane on their team, facing him as an opponent is likely less enjoyable.
This is how strong Zambrotta will be: The Italian defender may not have the highest ratings of all Icons. But Zambrotta is already becoming a hidden gem in the community.
Zambrotta was known for his versatility during his playing days – a fact that Reddit user “zokunAFC” addressed in a post. The very fact that his cards are spread across three different positions already indicates this – and his stats are really not bad at all. With a bit of luck, Zambrotta might also fall into the category of more affordable Icons.
Especially considering the other full-backs in the game, Zambrotta could become a hot candidate for many Ultimate Teams. His stats would also allow for deployment in midfield – and if he were to have a weak foot with five stars, he would be usable on both sides.
“Psst, stop drawing attention to him, I want to buy him cheap. I saw the stats at the release and knew immediately that he is a must-have,” commented a reddit user under the post. If you are still looking for a full-back for your team, Zambrotta could be the right choice for you.
This is how strong Dalglish will be: With Kenny Dalglish, an absolute Liverpool legend returns to the pitch – at least virtually. The Scottish forward was also a desired candidate for many fans and will now be playable.
Dalglish is considered perhaps the best Scottish striker of all time. The 68-year-old played a total of 435 matches for Liverpool FC, scoring 133 goals and assisting 57 others. For his country, the Scot has appeared 107 times and scored 32 goals.
Numbers that you hope to match in FIFA 20, should you manage to get Dalglish on your team. The stats definitely speak for themselves: Dribbling, speed, and shot power are extremely good – some fans even find him to be a bit too fast, as noted on reddit.
This is how strong Garrincha will be: If Garrincha should play against you, expect to get dribbled past. The two-time world champion is one of Brazil’s absolute football legends – some even consider him stronger than Pelé. Therefore, the joy in the community was immense when Garrincha was announced as a FIFA 20 Icon.
On reddit, Garrincha is one of the players many fans agree on: “This is a player we will be working towards.” The Brazilian was known for his incredibly strong dribbling – so expect Garrincha to be among the 5-star skill players who have all skill moves in FIFA 20.
That Garrincha’s dribbling stats are high is no surprise. But speed, shot, and passing also boast strong values. With Garrincha on your team, you definitely have a real weapon on the wing – if you can get him. Because Garrincha won’t be cheap either.
These Icons will also be strong in FIFA 20: Of all the new Icons that will be in FIFA 20, one should not forget the “old” Icons.

In Pokémon GO you can complete more free Raids this weekend. Niantic is giving away two passes per day after a bug in the game.
What you get this weekend: Normally, trainers in Pokémon GO receive one free Raid pass per day. With these passes, you can currently challenge the legendary trio of Entei, Suicune, and Raikou in Raids. You can also challenge other bosses, mainly from the Johto region, in their Shiny forms.
This weekend, however, you can go on double hunts. Niantic announced that trainers can collect a second free Raid pass on September 7th and 8th. Why?

This is likely related to issues with the current Raid bosses Suicune, Entei, and Raikou. When the legendary dog trio was introduced into Raids at the start of the “Johto Journey”, only Raikou appeared in its Shiny form at times.
