In the MMORPG Ember Sword, you can actually earn money. Specifically by trading cosmetic items via a cryptocurrency.
What is Ember Sword? The sandbox MMORPG Ember Sword aims to provide a player experience reminiscent of Ultima Online. You enjoy many freedoms in the game world. You improve your hero through skills; there are no classes.
Crafting and trading are important, as the economy of the MMORPG is driven by players. However, fighting against monsters and other players is also in focus.

Cryptocurrency should set the MMORPG apart from other games
What is special about it? In Ember Sword, it is possible to trade with your items. Specifically through a special cryptocurrency called Pixel Token.
It is even possible to own land and set up market stalls where players can trade. Or you can conduct auctions. For the services you offer on your property, you then charge money.
The developers state that due to the blockchain approach, your items always have value and you truly own them. This approach is not new. It has been experimented with for a while. The MMORPG Tree of Life, for example, implemented a similar system through its own Booboo cryptocurrency.
What is a blockchain, anyway? A blockchain is a database that is not located on just one computer, but is distributed across many. It allows for secure documentation of digital transactions. The transactions are chronologically added, similar to a chain. Hence the term blockchain.
A transaction is therefore always traceable and can be verified. Since the database is on multiple computers, manipulation is also very difficult.
Become the owner of your virtual items
How does this affect Ember Sword? Through the blockchain, you are registered as the owner of an item and every transaction involving it is documented. Thus, you are not just using a cosmetic item as in other MMORPGs; it truly belongs to you.
That also means you can trade it if you wish. Many online games prohibit the official trade of in-game items. This means that you can use the item, but fundamentally, you may not do what you want with it. In Ember Sword, however, trading is explicitly encouraged. You are the owner of an item and what you do with it is up to you.
What items count? Basically, the items you earn in the game through PvE and PvP activities are meant, but also the items you craft yourself. That’s why crafting plays such an important role.
There are no loot boxes or pay-to-win mechanics.
When will Ember Sword be released? The MMORPG does not yet have a release date. However, you can register on the official website and will be informed about the start of the early access phase.
Today marks the launch of the Shadowkeep expansion for Destiny 2. Pre-order customers and buyers of certain versions will receive some in-game extras. But where can you actually get these items?
What are these items about? Players who pre-ordered Destiny 2: Shadowkeep or bought a Deluxe Edition, for example, will be rewarded with special pre-order and/or bonus items. These are mainly cosmetic items.
How do I get my pre-order and bonus items? There is often chaos and confusion following new DLCs or expansions when it comes to claiming or even finding your in-game extras.
To prevent this phenomenon, Bungie already revealed before the release of Shadowkeep where you can pick up your bonus items. You can get these items directly from Eris Morn after you complete the first mission on the Moon.
You can also find Eris herself on the Moon, which you can explore starting this evening.
What items are available? If you pre-ordered Shadowkeep, you will receive the following pre-order items from Eris:
Exotic rocket launcher “Two-Tailed Fox”
The Hive ornament “Chasing Kitsune”
These items are available to all pre-order customers, regardless of the version of Shadowkeep.
If you purchased a Deluxe Edition, there are a total of 3 bonus items to look forward to, namely:
An exotic emote
An exotic ghost shell
An exclusive emblem
Destiny 2 is going Free-to-Play today: If you want to skip Shadowkeep for now or take a closer look at Destiny 2, it might be worth checking it out this evening. For at the same time as the big autumn expansion, the free-to-play version Destiny 2: New Light is launching today. You can find out more here:
Have you pre-ordered Destiny 2: Shadowkeep? What do you think of the pre-order bonuses? And what do you think of the in-game extras for the Deluxe Edition?
The files on Professor Willow’s PC mentioned by Pokémon GO recently seem to indicate Team Rocket. But what does that mean?
This was found: After many players suspected the mysterious files on Professor Willow’s computer of being the new Pokémon Rotom, opinions are now shifting.
Niantic released new images that indicate Team Rocket. Many trainers now suspect that a new Team Rocket event is imminent.
These clues about Team Rocket were found
These are the tweets: Niantic shows destroyed files on the PC that could identify individuals reminiscent of Team Rocket. However, the 3 characters shown do not resemble the usual grunts.

However, you can clearly recognize the Rocket logo on their clothing and the Rocket symbols are also visible in the background. Additionally, Pokémon GO itself asks in a tweet: “Could these files be leftovers from the last Team Rocket raid?”
What do players suspect behind this? The most agreed-upon suspicion is that these are the evil variants of the 3 team leaders.
They could only fight with Crypto-Pokémon, and you would have to defeat them with your Pokémon. These team leaders might also possess legendary Crypto-Pokémon that could attack you.
Other players believe that these 3 characters will occupy the gyms and you will have to fight them as gym leaders. They could also use legendary Pokémon here.
This would fit now: After the initial hype around Team Rocket, it has now become a bit quieter around the grunts. So it would be time to introduce new and interesting Pokémon in their Crypto form into the game.
It would be ideal if legendary Crypto-Pokémon would come now. This would significantly refresh the battles against Team Rocket.
Other trainers have given good suggestions on how Pokémon GO could look significantly better:
Since the release of Guild Wars 2, players have been wishing for features to save their builds and equipment. This wish is now coming true, but not completely for free.
What’s new in the game? In a blog post, the developers introduced build and equipment templates that have already been announced in the roadmap for upcoming updates. With these, you can save skills, traits, and equipment, and share the codes with other players.
A small number of storage slots is free. For more templates, you will need to spend Gems.
When will the build templates arrive in the game? With a patch on Tuesday, October 29, the save feature is expected to be implemented in the game.
Before that, you can look forward to a balance update that will be released today, October 1, and the Halloween event, which is expected to return in two weeks.
Templates save builds and equipment separately
How do the templates work? ArenaNet introduces two templates that are saved separately:
The first template handles skills and traits.
The second template saves your equipment.
Both templates function separately. While the codes for skills and traits can be shared with other players, the equipment template is only for your personal use.
How do you save builds? Each character has free access to three saved builds. Initially, these contain the current skills and traits from PvE, PvP, and WvW. However, you can fill these three slots as you wish.
If you don’t have a skill or trait yet, you can still save the build, and those positions will simply remain empty when loading the build.
The build templates also save tier companions and the legends of the Revenant class.
Above in the bar, the builds per character, on the left the account-wide templates
In addition, there are three account-wide storage slots that you can access on every character. In these, you can save builds whose codes you want to access regularly or that you just received from other players.
How do you save equipment? Besides the option to save the builds, you can also save your equipment. There are several tabs in the hero menu where you can place the corresponding armors and weapons.
With these tabs, you can easily switch between them. The catch is that equipment in inactive tabs does not take up inventory space. You have two tabs available for free per character.
How is it in PvP? The equipment in PvP works a bit differently and currently has some issues. However, ArenaNet did not want to hold back the build templates any longer.
Save features will initially only appear for PvE and WvW and will be added for PvP later.
Monetization of the build templates annoys players
How are the build templates received by players? Many players welcome the introduction of the build templates. Particularly the fact that the codes can be exchanged and that the saved equipment does not take up inventory space is positively received.
However, the monetization bothers some players. Only three builds per character and even only two equipment templates seems too little for many. As the Reddit user AiryAerie writes:
I’m disgusted. This is the greediest step I’ve ever seen from ArenaNet.
Three build templates per character – If you play a character in all three game modes, then congratulations, that’s all the slots.
Three account-wide templates are still the least objectionable, mainly because many players do not play multiple characters.
Two equipment templates per character – most players I know have at least two sets of equipment per character, and usually more. What’s the point of legendary equipment when I have access to all stats if I can only save two templates? […]
AiryAerie is not alone in his opinion. Many other users are also dissatisfied. For raids, three to eight different builds are used per character, and the open world and WvW are not even taken into account.
Particularly the legendary equipment, which was recently supplemented by legendary runes and sigils, is not optimally utilized in the new system.
How much do additional storage slots cost? The blog post does not currently reveal what additional storage slots will cost. It only states that you always get three account-wide templates in a bundle.
Immediately upon the release of the build templates, there will be a limited-time special offer. You will receive three of the account-wide slots for 0 Gems.
If you want to take a look at the feature, you can do so today, October 1, in an official livestream at 9:00 PM.
In Guild Wars 2, something exciting is expected to happen every month now. In September, there was the prologue “Bound by Blood”. The next episode could already come in November:
League of Legends is full of unique characters with a rich backstory. However, one champion is actually “just” a reference to a guild from World of Warcraft.
It is well known that MOBAs like League of Legends actually originated from a map for Warcraft 3. But did you know that a character from LoL is a direct reference to a guild from World of Warcraft? This is about Veigar, a small and wicked sorcerer.
Who revealed this? Kevin Jordan, one of the original developers of World of Warcraft, revealed some interesting details in a live stream. He explained that he was part of a guild that only had gnome warlocks. They called themselves “Tiny Masters of Evil”. Tom Cadwell, who is responsible for character design in League of Legends, apparently liked the guild so much that he designed Veigar after it – a little master of evil.

This is how the guild Tiny Masters of Evil was: Anyone who wanted to play with the Tiny Masters of Evil had to play a gnome warlock – all other classes were not allowed. The ranks in the guild were not assigned based on trust or importance, but were repeatedly decided through duels. Anyone who wanted to rise in rank had to win a duel against someone of a higher rank.
This concept of “rising in rank by defeating someone” is also still anchored in League of Legends. When Veigar kills enemy champions, his power increases with each kill.
Other games also have references: By the way, Veigar is not the only reference to the guild Tiny Masters of Evil that has made it into other games. There was also a reference in Hearthstone, as Ben Brode explained a few years ago. The card “Tiny Knight of Evil” shows a small gnome in armor riding a devilish mount. That was also a reference to the mentioned gnome guild.

The Division 2 receives a comprehensive weapon balancing with Title Update 6. Find out which weapons benefit the most and what the developers have to say in this overview.
What does the next Title Update 6 bring? The release of the next major update has been confirmed by Massive for mid-October and coincides with the release of the content expansion “Episode 2”. The largest update so far for The Division 2 not only brings fresh content but also a lot of balancing changes and revisions.
More than 50 weapons will be revised
The next update is seen by the developers as a “rebuild update.” The mechanics of “Passive Talents” will be revised and many beloved builds will be turned upside down.
However, the weapons will also receive a major overhaul and around 40 buffs for standard weapons can already be found in the preliminary patch notes.
How the weapons will actually look at the launch of Title Update 6 remains to be seen.
40 weapons will be strengthened
Which weapons are getting the strongest buff? Hardly any weapon class is left out in this big weapon balancing. But the strongest buffs per class are going to the following examples:
Submachine guns: MPX + 38%
Rifles: M16 +68%
Snipers: M44 Special +19%
Assault rifles: M4 +10%
LMGs:MG5 +9%
The rifle M16 receives an incredible buff of +68% to its base weapon damage, showing how much some weapons need this strengthening.
Why are the weapons being changed so drastically now? This is somewhat related to the changes to armor talents. The upcoming update wants the developers to create more variety and rewarding options in the build creation of The Division 2.
In order to rarely need to make such large build interventions, Massive is trying to kill as many birds with one stone as possible so that agents don’t have to rely on entirely new builds with the next update.
Moreover, only a few weapons are currently being effectively played. The weapon team at Massive wants to give all firearms the chance to become part of a specialized build.
Massive is striving for more viable weapons
How are the developers tackling the problem? Massive interacts a lot with players on social media and communicates changes during the weekly livestream “State of the Game” or in the Ubisoft forum. In doing so, the developers share a lot about their thoughts and approaches to the upcoming balancing.
As a first orientation, they use the raw numbers and facts from the game. Which weapons are being played and why? At the moment, these questions are quite easy to answer:
P416 – Assault rifle with high fire rate
M60 – LMG with plenty of ammunition
With the help of these benchmarks, the responsible developers are now trying to raise the other weapons to a similar level without excessively weakening the meta weapons.
Your feedback is requested
In addition to the bare facts, Massive also values player feedback very highly. Until today, October 1st, a test server (PTS) is running for PC players with many TU6 changes, where testers are also encouraged to participate in regular surveys.
To meet the community’s wishes and their own guidelines, the developers implement the weapon balancing in two steps.
Align the weapons within the weapon classes
Align the weak weapon classes with the strong classes (assault rifle/LMG)
Will my weapon become useless? Strong weapons are meant to remain strong. The P146 will be slightly nerfed (-5% damage) but should remain competitive as it will still benefit from certain talents more than other assault rifles due to its above-average fire rate.
To illustrate the alignment within the weapon classes, Massive showed some graphics in the “State of the Game” from September 25th. They show how the damage output is distributed over a certain period – before and after Title Update 6.
Assault rifles compared – before Title Update 6 left axis: damage / right axis: time
Assault rifles compared – after Title Update 6 left axis: damage / right axis: time
And what happens with the individual weapon classes? In addition to the colorful graphics, the developers have also put into words their current opinion on the individual classes. We also show the current state of the damage adjustments from the preliminary patch notes.
Assault Rifles
This is the most used weapon class
Meta weapons have been slightly nerfed, but many have been strengthened
Change is usually around + 5-8% weapon damage
FAMAS gets an extendable magazine
The basic damage of assault rifles changes as follows:
ACR: +3%
AUG: +3%
Carbine 7: +8%
F2000: +5%
FAL: +3%
G36: +3%
M4: +10%
P416: -5%
TAR-21: +8%
LMG
Each weapon should be able to keep up
The following changes are made to the base LMG damage:
MG5: +9%
KAG: +5%
M249: -4%
M60: -10%
RPK: +5%
L86: +6%
Submachine Guns
SMGs are currently not effective enough, the raw damage output is too low
All SMGs will be buffed and should now be competitive
The changes to base MP damage are as follows:
AUG: +15%
MP5: +13%
MP7: +7%
MPX: +38%
P90: +25%
SMG9: +6%
T821: -8%
Thompson: +12%
Tommy Gun: +6%
UMP45: +14%
Vector SBR – Tactical: +21%
Vector SBR 9: +17%
Vector .45 ACP: +25%
Sniper Rifles
The balancing here is complicated because many targets are one-shots
The M700 serves as a benchmark to which the other snipers should catch up
The changes to base sniper damage are as follows:
M700 Tactical: +19%
M700 Carbon: +19%
Classic M44 Carbine: +14%
Hunting M44: +8%
Custom M44: +19%
SRS: +11%
Rifles
They have high damage per shot, but weaknesses against strong elite enemies and for sustained damage
Most will be significantly strengthened, with only a few being weakened
The changes to base rifle damage are as follows:
ACR SS: +19%
M16: +68%
Classic M1A: +39%
SOCOM M1A: +30%
M1A CQB: +30%
Lightweight M4: +11%
LVOA-C: +12%
SIG 716: -7%
1886: +20%
MDR: +16%
MK17: +17%
Shotguns
The shotguns are getting a completely new property. Previously, all shotguns provided agents with an improved melee attack. However, this has led to pump guns being too weak against strong elite enemies in the endgame.
Now the shotguns have the property “damage against armor” and will be much more effective against the annoying shields of intrusive NPCs.
The new KSG shotgun comes with TU6 and a dual magazine
Exotics in the Spotlight
What about the exotics? For the exotics, talents should play a larger role. Just like with standard weapons, exotics have been limited for many players to a few worthwhile pieces. For some agents, the exotic talents in holstered state are better than the active weapon itself.
You can check out potential changes announced in the preliminary patch notes here.
In summary, the developers say that while exotic weapons have some influence on builds, they should be chosen for their talents – not just for their raw damage.
What else does Massive want to change with the new update? Many things have already been announced, and the test server shows some contents that haven’t even been discussed yet. Here are a few new features that have already been confirmed:
Simultaneously with the Shadowkeep expansion, on October 1, Destiny 2: New Light, the free version of Bungie’s MMO shooter, will also launch. We have summarized the most important information about the Free-to-Play experience for you.
What is Destiny 2: New Light? Destiny 2 will be Free-to-Play starting October 1 – in the form of Destiny 2: New Light (or New Light).
It is a free package consisting of:
the base game Destiny 2
the first 2 DLCs, Curse of Osiris and Warmind
and numerous other selected contents. We will present exactly what they are in the article.
With New Light, Bungie aims to “break down walls” and bring as many players together in the Destiny universe as possible, so they can experience adventures together.
What you need to know about Destiny 2: New Light
When exactly will Destiny 2: New Light be released? New Light will be available on October 1 around 7 PM German time. Currently, large-scale maintenance is underway to prepare Destiny 2 for the Shadowkeep expansion and New Light.
Once this is completed, New Light and Shadowkeep should go live and be available through the digital stores of the respective platforms.
On which platforms will Destiny 2: New Light be released? Destiny 2: New Light will launch on October 1 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC (on Steam).
New Light makes Year 1 of Destiny 2 free – the rest remains Buy2Play
Is Destiny 2: New Light really free? This is something many interested parties are wondering. But don’t worry, Destiny 2: New Light is indeed completely free in its scope. There are no hidden costs.
While there are cosmetic microtransactions in the game, these do not affect gameplay and are present in exactly the same form in the “regular” version of Destiny 2.
However, on Xbox One and PS4, there may be additional costs for a PS Plus subscription or a membership for Xbox Live.
Free Destiny 2 offers over 100 hours of content
What content does Destiny 2: New Light offer? In short: quite a lot!
New Light offers a comprehensive package that allows newcomers to have over 100 hours of fun. Essentially, you now receive content for free that some players spent over 100€ on in 2017 and 2018.
Additionally, you will have unrestricted access to all PvP content as well as various other contents – including from Year 2 and even from Year 3. For example, the Menagerie – a new group activity that only appeared in summer 2019 – is also included. The new Strikes from Shadowkeep are also supposed to be free for everyone to play.
No matter if you want to complete missions alone, tackle a strike (a kind of mini-dungeon) with a squad, or dive into PvP – there is a lot for every player who has previously skipped or neglected Destiny 2 with New Light. Raids, the most challenging group activities in Destiny 2, are also included.
Will I fall behind as a New Light player if I join now? No, you will not. Although you may lack the experience and equipment from the last two years of Destiny 2, Bungie is doing everything to make your entry as attractive and accessible as possible.
Because all players – whether veterans or newcomers – will start at Power Level 750 at the launch of Shadowkeep and New Light. Everyone starts at the same level. This is meant to ensure that new guardians, potential returners, and seasoned players can immediately dive into adventures side by side without having to level up extensively before they can play together.
Additionally, veterans will be encouraged to gather new equipment due to changes like the new armor system Armor 2.0, allowing even fresh protectors of humanity not to lag hopelessly behind.
Also cool: You will be able to unlock all locations in Destiny 2 fairly quickly through short quests. You won’t have to grind through all the DLCs and their campaigns if you prefer not to engage with certain contents and still want to get to the endgame.
However, you can select campaigns from an NPC in the Tower, the social space of Destiny 2, and tackle them one by one and in any order you wish.
Can I as a New Light player progress as far as regular guardians? Again, you don’t have to worry. Upon inquiry, the developers informed us that New Light players can level up just like “regular” guardians.
What does the endgame in Destiny 2: New Light look like? We also inquired with the developers. There are really no major differences compared to the “full game”.
With New Light, you will ultimately also tackle the most demanding activities like raids or Nightfall strikes and participate in weekly challenges like the Flashpoint – albeit in a more limited scope.
The newest contents like raids or dungeons from Forsaken or Shadowkeep are not included in New Light. Accordingly, fewer sources are available from which you can obtain the most powerful equipment.
New Light is meant to be the entry point for new players
What options do I have if I like New Light? New Light offers interested parties the opportunity to take an extensive look at Destiny 2. Essentially, you come into contact with all the essential systems and core mechanics that define the game.
After that, you will likely be able to judge whether you enjoy the game and whether you want to continue your journey as a guardian.
If Destiny 2 sparks your interest through New Light, you can separately purchase various contents such as
The Forsaken expansion
the new Shadowkeep expansion
or the seasons
according to your preferences to expand your Destiny experience. More about your options can be found here:
Is Destiny 2: New Light worth it for me? If you have even a slight interest in first-person shooters, enjoy experiencing adventures with others, and like playing together with friends, then you can’t go wrong with the free version of Destiny 2 – especially not for free and at this extent.
If you also value co-op and group challenges, you should definitely take a look at New Light – especially if you’ve previously left Destiny 2 alone.
Even some PvP enthusiasts will get their fill.
Returners also have the opportunity to catch up and try out numerous new contents for free. For them, checking out New Light could definitely be worthwhile. Especially if you are generally considering revisiting Destiny 2 to see what has changed.
In short: Anyone who enjoys shooters and has missed Destiny 2 so far should definitely check out New Light. You can’t go wrong with it.
Will you check out Destiny 2 with New Light or return? What do you think of the free-to-play model and its scope?
Destiny 2 receives a new expansion with Shadowkeep. The October brings some exciting new features for the game. All info, the release date, pre-order and the features are summarized for you in this article.
What is Destiny 2:Shadowkeep? Shadowkeep is the second major expansion for Destiny 2. The expansion is called Shadowkeep in English and is scheduled for release in October.
Before the release of Shadowkeep, there will be a preload for all platforms. PC players can already download the expansion via Steam. The preload is already active.
Console players on PS4 and Xbox One will have to wait until September 30th, the day before the Shadowkeep release. However, the servers will be taken offline on September 30th at 7 PM to prepare for the release of Shadowkeep. Downtime is planned for a full 24 hours and applies even to Destiny 1.
The servers are expected to go back online with the release of Shadowkeep on October 1st at 7 PM.
Previously, Destiny 2 on PC weighed around 87 GB and on consoles PS4 and Xbox One around 100 GB. With Shadowkeep, the game across the three platforms will be approximately the same size.
Story: This is what the expansion is about
We will summarize information on the story of the expansion and Season 8, the Season of the Undying, here.
As our heroes direct their attention to the boundaries beyond the protection of the Vanguard, something stirs in the shadows of our long-forgotten moon.
Eris Morn returns, haunted by visions of her cruel past. She unleashed something that has been lying dormant beneath the moon’s surface for a long time. It is a power that even Eris cannot control.
Our Guardians must now return to the Moon and help Eris deal with the nightmares lurking there. And they must do so before they leave the Moon behind and plunge humanity back into an age of darkness.
What can be seen in the reveal trailer? “A glimpse into the future always brings us back to the past,” says Eris Morn in the trailer. The surface of the moon can be seen, with our Earth and the Traveler in the background.

In the shadows of the moon, the silhouettes of old enemies can be discerned, while Eris Morn continues to speak of nightmares that thirst for revenge. The ancient fears of the Guardians are to return.
What exactly this means is still unknown. However, the trailer shows outlines of some enemies that may be familiar to Destiny 1 players. In between, the scream of the witch Omnigul, Will of Crota, can be heard. Crota himself was even shown in the last ViDoc announcing Shadowkeep.
Is Crota coming back? Here is Oryx’s son seen in Bungie’s ViDoc
What’s coming in Season 8? The next season, which marks the end of Forsaken and heralds the beginning of Shadowkeep, will be called the “Season of the Undying.” In Shadowkeep, it’s not just about the Hive on the moon, as the cybernetic Vex are also invading the universe. To prevent these “invasions,” all Guardians are needed. With the “Vex Offensive,” a new 6-player matchmaking activity will be introduced.
All three editions include the Shadowkeep expansion, but they come with different goodies. Also, not all editions are available for all platforms.
In addition, interested players do not need to purchase the base game of Destiny 2 alongside Shadowkeep. Year 1 of Destiny 2 will be free with the release of Shadowkeep. This version is called “New Light,” which we will provide more information about further down.
This is what is included in the individual editions:
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep – Standard
Shadowkeep expansion
A season pass for “Season of the Undying”
The standard version is available for the following platforms:
Guardians will also revisit the Black Garden in Shadowkeep. That is where the raid will be located that comes with the expansion.
Shadowkeep represents an experiment on what can be done with content that has already been developed over time, according to Bungie. Perhaps players will see more locations from Destiny 1 in the sequel in the future.
Bungie recently showed in a video how the Moon in Shadowkeep has changed compared to Destiny 1. The satellite has been revamped in Shadowkeep and equipped with new lighting and effects. This is meant to make the Moon appear darker and gloomier. The developers are also playing with light and shadow, giving the Moon a more mysterious vibe.

With the release of Shadowkeep, Guardians will naturally also hunt for thematically appropriate armor again. The new gear seems to follow the astronaut theme, as revealed by an image released by Bungie.
The levels each have different modifiers. For the first two difficulty levels, Adept and Hero, there is matchmaking, whereas for the last difficulty, Legend, you need to assemble a strike team yourself.
The new expansion also brings changes to the Nightfall strikes. Guardians are now hunting Champions at varying difficulty levels:
Adept – Power level 750 is recommended
Hero – Power level 920 is recommended
Legend – Power level 950 is recommended
Master – Power level 980 is recommended
The higher the difficulty level, the greater the chance of special rewards upon success. This includes Enhancement Prisms and Ascendant Shards for leveling up equipment and obtaining exotic items.
With these new settings, players can adjust their Nightfall strike
Armor 2.0
With a new armor system, players will be able to extensively customize and individualize their gear. Armor 2.0 is supposed to allow players to equip any mods they’ve unlocked into any armor piece.
Currently, players tend to choose the armors that give them advantages in the game rather than those that look good. With the new system, Bungie aims to focus more on RPG elements and offer players more freedom.
In the ViDoc, the developers show how they envision the new system
Artifacts
In Shadowkeep, players will receive seasonal artifacts that they can level up and thus unlock various perks. According to the developers, artifacts should feel like an exotic item due to the perks in the last column.
However, your power will not rise without limits: At the end of a season, the respective artifact disappears and is replaced by another. With the artifact, the power fades and your Guardian will be reset to the power level he had without the artifact.
Shadowkeep brings some changes to the existing sandbox. Among other things, there are buffs and nerfs to Supers and their energy regeneration, mechanics like auto-reload, or adjustments to damage multipliers.
To ensure that Guardians continue to look particularly cool and are represented in-game, each class will receive its own finishers with Shadowkeep. Some of these have already been introduced by the popular sound guy Dave Samuel.
For Titans, for example, there is a move where the character jumps up, raises his fist, looks at it, and then strikes hard.
With the upcoming expansion Shadowkeep, Bungie will also implement changes to the Crucible. Matchmaking will be revised, and the following changes will be made to the playlists:
The previous Quickplay will be removed, replaced with Classic Mix featuring modes such as Control, Supremacy, and Conflict
The competitive playlist will be replaced with a 3v3 Survival mode, which rewards you with Glory points. A solo Survival mode will also provide Glory.
6v6 Control will be its own playlist
There will be weekly 6v6 and 4v4 rotation playlists with the modes Conflict, Supremacy, Showdown, Lockdown, and Countdown
Moreover, Bungie is currently working on four variations of 3v3 Elimination. This mode is far from finished and will therefore be introduced in the test playlist for PvP modes, Crucible Labs. To test Elimination in a familiar environment, the mode will be playable on the popular PvP maps Widow’s Court and Rift from Destiny 1.
There will also be changes to the economy: Glimmer will only be earnable in-game from Shadowkeep onwards. Dismantled items will now yield Legendary Shards and Glimmer, and recrafting items will only cost Glimmer and Shards.
While this focus was particularly indispensable in group play during Destiny 1, the bubble titan lost its cool bonuses to the Warlock in Destiny 2. This shifted the focus to the Warlock, and the “Bubble Titan” was hardly used anymore.

New Destiny players can create a character and play through the first mission of Destiny 1, where they are revived by their Ghost and fight their way out of the Cosmodrome on Earth. This mission has been revised by the developers.
After the Guardians and Ghost escape from the Cosmodrome, they fly to the Tower and begin their adventure in Destiny 2.
Free-to-play players can visit the Drifter and participate in Gambit
What can Free2Play players do? Free-to-play players can travel to all regions in the game, even to the Moon, which comes with Shadowkeep. They are supposed to “explore every location and complete bounties, play every coop strike, and participate in every PVP activity.” Gambit is also playable, the PvPvE mode that was introduced with Forsaken.
What can Free2Play players not do? The subclasses from the Forsaken expansion will not be available in Destiny 2: New Light. However, if you purchase the Shadowkeep expansion without Forsaken, you will still receive these subclasses.
Other content, such as the Forsaken expansion, Shadowkeep, or the season passes remain mostly paid and can be purchased optionally.
The MMORPG Astellia has officially launched and now offers new editions for players to start the game. These new packages are currently causing great discussions among players.
What happened? With the release on September 29, Astellia has remodeled the purchasable game versions. Until that point, there were pre-order versions with early access, which have now been replaced by new packages.
However, these new packages are so good in some aspects that some pre-orderers feel cheated out of their money. User Sagittarius writes:
[..]Players who did not purchase a headstart package gain nearly double what buyers got in the headstart and have to pay less.
Some players are already talking about Pay2Win and scamming, although neither the packages nor the shop contain such things. Whether the packages are unfairly designed will be examined more closely.
Lower costs and better rewards at the same time?
What is the problem with the standard edition? The first point of contention with the new purchasable editions is found in the standard package, which only costs 30 euros.
What are the problems with the other editions? The deluxe package, which costs 80 euros, is said to be overall better than the pre-order package for 100 euros. At least, this is what some players claim in the forum.
Additionally, the package for 50 euros contains some bonuses that were not available in the 70 euro package from the headstart. Below, we will compare the two most expensive packages.
This is how the packages compare
Legendary Package (100 euros – Pre-order)
Deluxe Package (80 euros – After Release)

These are the advantages of the Deluxe package: For 20 euros less, the Deluxe package currently offers additional character adjustment coupons, a warehouse expansion +100, and Niara’s transition for 2 months – a total value of 40 euros in the shop.
These are the advantages of the Pre-order package: For 20 euros more, pre-orderers received beeswax, which can only be obtained through play. Additionally, there was an exclusive armor and an exclusive mount.
They also had 8 days (due to an extension) of early access to Astellia and access to all beta phases of the MMORPG.
Criticism prompts developers to respond
Is the players’ criticism justified? It is clear that the new package for 80 euros is an extremely good deal, especially in direct comparison to the pre-order packages.
Whether the additional 20 euros are worth 7 days of playtime and some exclusive skins is for the players to decide for themselves. Some players in the forum do not believe they were scammed, as user Xovian stated:
No idea what all these complaints are about. You bought a package. Did you get what you paid for? Yes?
This is similar to complaining that you bought something a month earlier, which then was reduced on Black Friday and others got the item cheaper.
I’m sorry, nothing is wrong here. As others have correctly noted, companies always have to bring “the next big thing” to sell a product, there is no difference here. [..]
How do the developers respond? Just last night, Westley Connor, CEO of the publisher Barunson E&A, responded in the forum:
Hello everyone,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the new packages with us. I want to let you know that we are looking at your feedback and will keep an eye on the thread.
Please continue the discussion but keep it civil and constructive.
It is therefore quite possible that pre-orderers may receive an additional bonus afterward. Many would already be happy about the warehouse expansion and the two months of Niara’s transition.
Our author Alexander Leitsch has already spent over 20 hours in the new MMORPG. This is his opinion on Astellia:
The Chinese mega-corporation Tencent has acquired another developer studio: Funcom. This means that the Chinese are entering the survival MMO Conan Exiles as well as the MMORPG Secret World Legends. But that’s probably not a bad thing.
Who bought Conan Exiles? The company behind the purchase is Tencent. In a press release, Funcom announced that Tencent has acquired 29% of the shares in Funcom and thus holds the majority of shares.
The CEO of Funcom,
Rui Casais, sees this as a positive development:
Tencent has a reputation for being a responsible long-term investor and for its renowned performance in online games. The insight, experience, and knowledge that Tencent brings is of great value to us and we expect close collaboration as we continue to develop great games and create a successful future for Funcom.
Rui Casais, CEO of Funcom
What the change means for Conan Exiles: At the moment, the purchase by Tencent does not mean anything special for Conan Exiles. Everything continues as usual for now. What effects the change will have in the future remains to be seen.
Tencent now owns significant shares in many western studios. The corresponding games seem to be doing even better since then.
These include:
As Funcom itself is an indie developer (or was), the support from Tencent could actually help the studio to expand further and also bring some new features to Conan Exiles – such as the promised magic, which is still missing.
What’s next for Conan Exiles?
Here are the plans for the future: In the near future, Funcom has already announced that Conan Exiles will receive mounts. This will be a free update that will be released together with the ninth DLC “Riders of Hyboria” in December.

According to the corresponding roadmap for 2019, only the “Mysteries of Acheron” DLC is expected to be released, which has already been renamed to “Debauchery of Derketo” on Steam. What will follow afterwards and in 2020 remains open.
Bungie has spoken in a brief interview about the future of the Destiny franchise and the entire studio. The plans are ambitious and extend until 2025. They aim not only to transform Destiny and pursue a vision with the game series, but Bungie also plans a new non-Destiny game.
What does Bungie have planned for Destiny? In an interview with IGN, Bungie’s CEO, Pete Parsons, spoke about the future of Destiny and Bungie itself. Big plans are in store for both as Destiny is to be “transformed”:
We must begin to transform Destiny. The Destiny we truly believe in and think it should become. […] The one, single, evolving world. We must focus on that.
What exactly will happen with Destiny is not further elaborated by Parsons at this point. He speaks of a “very specific path” that must be followed for this.
At the end of these plans, the new Destiny is likely to emerge.
October 1st is a moment for Parsons where Destiny 2 players remember what a cool place Destiny is. For new players, it will be exciting to discover it.
What is the purpose of this? The goal of the transformation is for Bungie to become one of the “best entertainment companies” in the world – by 2025.
Bungie has just over five years left to realize these plans.
The separation from Activision was not the stress factor that some had feared, but rather opened up the opportunity to bring products to market and to customers.
Destiny is not the only game brand of Bungie
What else is Bungie planning: In addition to the “transformation” of Destiny, Bungie wants to release at least one more game that is not Destiny. It should be ensured that Bungie also has “other franchises on the market”:
I think Bungie’s long-term vision is that we have worlds like Destiny that are great for making friendships. And then we start introducing new worlds that matter to people.
Will something similar to Halo return?
There are still no specific details about what exactly will happen or which games are coming. Possibly, something towards Halo or Myth will continue to be worked on, but perhaps something completely new will also come.
Many players have criticized the near-death experience in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. However, it is intended to remain the same. Infinity Ward provides good reasons for this.
These are the near-death experiences: When hit by enemies and on the verge of elimination, the screen turns black and white. The darker it gets, the closer you are to death.
For many fans, it is too dark. This makes it difficult to recognize enemies when injured. This frustrates players, leading them to demand its removal.
Developers’ stance on the near-death experience
What does Infinity Ward say about it? A fan reminds the developers that they should address the issue surrounding the near-death experience and not neglect it.
Ashton Williams, Communications Manager at Infinity Ward, explains that this serves a specific purpose and is important for the health mechanics. The less color one can see, the closer one is to death.
It does not seem that Infinity Ward is planning a change here. After all, this mechanic is important for the health indicator in the game.
How is this statement received? Williams faces a lot of criticism for this. Players also say that Infinity Ward places too much emphasis on realism. There hasn’t been a CoD title that handled it this way, and players could still see how much health they had left.
modern_slinke writes on Twitter: “The screen doesn’t need to desaturate, as it only causes disorientation. The last games had blood splatters, and there was nothing wrong with that. Why do developers always have to change things that aren’t broken or need change?”
Why is the feedback interesting? Throughout the beta, Infinity Ward repeatedly responded to player feedback. After massive criticism, they even added a new type of minimap and promised improvements in spawns.
Now, however, it seems that the developers are staying firm and not fulfilling this desire of the player base.
For more issues that players had during the beta, read here:
Anyone who has been playing Pokémon GO for a long time knows that the game has hardly changed visually. Players are now explaining what could be changed.
This topic came up: On Reddit, a player asked what happened to the sunsets that Niantic showcased at an event in 2017. Since the announcement, nothing has really happened.
In response, many players said that in addition to sunsets, many other visual elements could be added to the game. The ideas are impressive.
Players suggest: The dreary environment on the map bores many players. One player, hereo_, suggests:
Skyscrapers and buildings could be more realistic and not just flat blocks, but they would still be transparent, so players could tap Pokémon on them. Mountains and hills would fit well into the game instead of just flat land everywhere.
The player Kai_Wai explains that he finds the transition between day and night really cool, but a sunset and sunrise would fit ideally.
A few weeks ago, the player “duskyxlops” already brought up the topic and mainly talked about the backgrounds when catching Pokémon. These could be adapted to the environment in which the Pokémon appears.
The trainer even created images to illustrate how he envisions it:
Is such a change conceivable? It is possible. After all, Niantic knows where houses are located or where a sea begins, for example. They could also show a suitable environment here.
As the opening number for the Grand Finals of the second season of the Overwatch League, DJ and music producer Zedd performed. His performance was preceded by a brief look at an unreleased skin that is now driving fans wild. Many Overwatch fans want the “Zedd” skin for Widowmaker.
What kind of skin is it? The skin is a new outfit for Widowmaker, which differs only in color and some details from her default skin (“recolor”), similar to the skins of the Overwatch League teams.
The skin features blue-green and pink tones. Widowmaker has the musician’s logo tattooed on her back. The logo can also be seen on the side of her weapon, the Widow’s Kiss.

The Widowmaker skin was only visible for a few seconds as Zedd took the stage, in the form of Widowmaker’s well-known highlight intros.
Who is Zedd? Anton “Zedd” Zaslavski is a German-Russian DJ known for his electro-house music. Zedd has been nominated for Grammys multiple times, has released two albums, and several top 10 hits. He has even been jokingly compared to Lúcio:
Is the skin really coming? Last year, DJ Khaled performed at the Overwatch League Finals. He did not receive a skin, which has led some fans to fear that the Zedd skin may not come either.
However, this year’s performance was much better received, and fans really want the skin.
Ubisoft has announced the launch times for the tactical shooter Ghost Recon Breakpoint. In Germany, it starts at midnight on all platforms, and those who want to can start playing in just a few hours.
When does Early Access start? Ubisoft will release Ghost Recon Breakpoint in several phases for different platforms and regions. After the Open Beta is over, it will soon be in release.
The earliest start in Europe is 0:00 midnight on October 1st, so already tonight for players with Early Access.
Who gets to start early? All versions from the Gold Edition onward will get Early Access, namely:
Gold Edition
Ultimate Edition
Wolves Collector’s Edition
These versions are also a bit more expensive. The Gold Edition costs about €99.99 in the Ubisoft Store, while the Standard Edition only costs €59.99.
All the mentioned versions receive early access for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Uplay. Players who want to play Breakpoint via the Epic Store will have to wait until 12 noon on October 1st.
When is the regular launch? Those who do not want to get the more expensive version of Breakpoint will have access starting October 4th. Again, the start time is unified for all platforms, except for the Epic Store, where players can begin at midnight.
When does the Pre-Load start? To allow you to download Breakpoint in advance, there is a Pre-Load. According to information from Ubisoft at the time of writing, it has already begun on all platforms. You can simply start it through your respective shop.
On the Xbox One, there is also a 13.5 GB Day-1 patch, while on the PlayStation 4, there is a 10 GB Day-1 patch.
Breakpoint – can you play already?
This is how it works even earlier: The times mentioned above apply to digital pre-orders and digital versions of Breakpoint. However, Ubisoft announced that the servers will open as early as September 30th at 1:00 PM.
Those who pre-order a physical copy and have activated it should already be able to play since the servers opened, according to Ubisoft. Additionally, some players report that they can already play using a VPN, as is possible with other games.
A VPN communicates in this case to Ubisoft’s servers that you are located in a region that is already able to play (like New Zealand). However, this is said to currently cause crashes and is not favored by many providers, which is why we currently advise against it.

The new skill-based matchmaking is active in Fortnite. However, some players seem not so enthusiastic, especially PS4 and Xbox One players feel disadvantaged.
What is skill-based matchmaking? The new skill-based matchmaking, introduced by Epic Games after update 10.40, is designed to match players of similar skill levels in the same match.
Before update 10.40, it was always random which players faced each other. Now, that is supposed to change with the new matchmaking system.
PS4 and Xbox players feel disadvantaged
Why do console players feel disadvantaged? Players have noticed that all platforms play against each other. So now PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Mobile are playing in the same matches.
Console players now feel disadvantaged because they have to compete against PC players and have a clear disadvantage there. PC players have an easier time with building and editing structures using mouse and keyboard. Thus, they are usually faster than console players.
Why is this a problem? Particularly for skilled console players, it is becoming increasingly difficult. The better they become, the stronger the PC players they encounter.
Since skill-based matchmaking has now been introduced in all game modes, players have no option to escape. They now have to face equally strong or even stronger players.
“As a PS4 player, I have no interest in mixed platforms.”
The Fortnite player shaggy235, who plays on PS4, recently spoke up on Reddit and explained why he finds mixed platforms with skill-based matchmaking unfair. He says:
“The mixed platform will quickly ruin the game for me. (…) It makes no sense to me. (…) Why disadvantage half of the players? (…) As a PS4 player, I have no interest in mixed platforms. (…) Playing against PC players is very frustrating for me.” (…)
Some players agree with the PS4 player and say:
“As an outstanding console player, I play regular and arena matches every day. I started a solo match today and it was so bad. It was like an arena solo!”
“I consider myself one of the better players on PS4. I never played arena matches because I found it unfair to compete against PC players. Now Epic forces us to play against each other and that is definitely the end of Fortnite for me.”
“They ruined the arena mode with mixed platforms, now they are doing the same with the standard modes. I shake my head.”
“That was the last straw that broke the camel’s back. I’m quitting Fortnite. Thank you, Epic.”
What do you think of the new skill-based matchmaking? Have you noticed any difference from the previous matchmaking?
Ninja-looting in World of Warcraft Classic is annoying. One case has caused a stir. But what can be done against it and what falls under ninja-looting?
Hardly any term in World of Warcraft is as old as the expression “ninja-looting.” But what all falls under it? What is allowed and game mechanics, and what is forbidden? And how can one defend against it if a case of ninja-looting occurs? This topic has flared up again in the World of Warcraft subreddit, so we are also addressing it.
What has happened? In the WoW Classic subreddit a pretty nasty story is making the rounds. An officer from the guild of streamer Asmongold has fraudulently acquired an epic item. During a dungeon run, the epic gloves “Edgemaster’s Handguards” dropped. The player in question announced in the chat that “Everyone should roll greed.”
All players did just that – except for the one who had stated the rule. He rolled need, won the gloves, and left the group to sell them shortly after in the auction house and then buy his epic mount with the gold.
This incident caused a great stir on Reddit, not only because of the audacity of the player, but also because it involved a player from one of the most famous guilds. More than 16,000 upvotes drew a lot of attention.
But the question now is: What can be done about such a case?
Agreements must be upheld: Basically, Blizzard has had special rules since “Vanilla” to prevent such fraud cases. Players should inform themselves about the loot rules when joining a group. If it has been clearly communicated that “all items can be rolled for by all players,” then it would be a violation if the group leader switches to “Master Loot” and distributes the items at his discretion.
The principle is: Agreements made that are recorded in the game chat must be upheld.
This also applies to the aforementioned case and all similar cases. If an agreement on the distribution of loot was made and this was violated, you can report the corresponding player.
If the offense is then deemed actual fraud, the fraudster usually loses not only their gain from the item but also temporarily loses access to their account.
However, keep in mind: If there were no agreements recorded in the chat, then one cannot accuse anyone of having rolled “need.”
Do these rules still apply? There has been no statement from Blizzard so far, so it can be assumed that the “old rules” still apply, at least in 2015 they were still valid. So if you experience a clear case of ninja-looting where the agreed rules were broken, you should report the corresponding player. In the best case, that player then receives a penalty and loses what they earned from the respective item.
No problem in Retail WoW: By the way, ninja-looting in the current World of Warcraft (Retail) is almost impossible, as most items are distributed through “Personal Loot.” Each player receives their loot individually, so nothing can be taken from anyone. This is probably one of the reasons why Blizzard introduced this system in the current WoW.
Have you encountered players in WoW Classic who have fraudulently acquired items and betrayed the group? Or have you been spared so far?
Unchained, the new version of the MMORPG ArcheAge, should no longer feature Pay2Win. But is this really the case? We at Mein-MMO have taken a closer look at the shop.
How is the shop structured? The new shop of the MMORPG ArcheAge Unchained, which is releasing on October 15, offers you rewards for two currencies:
Diligence coins, which you can earn from the free Battle Pass.
Credits, which you can purchase for real money.
750 Credits cost 5 Euros, with better exchange rates for money to credits available if you spend more.
In addition to the free Battle Pass, there are also paid passes. For these, you pay 1,500 Credits, or about 10 Euros.
Where does the shop information come from? We at Mein-MMO have already gained access to the test server of ArcheAge Unchained. There we examined the shop.
Changes are naturally possible before the release of Unchained, though the shop in its current form resembles what was promised to us at Gamescom.
What can you get for credits? In addition to the Battle Pass, you can purchase the following items for credits:
Chests for instruments, music pieces, and furniture – each 1,275 credits.
Various costumes that do not contain any attributes – between 1,850 and 5,850 credits.
Various pets that cannot fight – each 1,675 credits.
Two gliders that only have cosmetic effects – each 5,850 credits.
Six furniture items for housing, including a chest with 100 storage slots. No item for regenerating work points included – each 1,675 credits.
None of the items fall into the Pay2Win category. Even Pay2Convenience, meaning paying for useful items like bag or bank slots that do not provide direct gameplay advantages, has almost disappeared.
What is included in the paid Battle Pass? In addition to the shop, there is also a paid Battle Pass. However, this is also currently free of Pay2Win.
Depending on the selected pass, you will receive
New cosmetic content like costumes or individual skins.
Special content such as dance styles or titles.
Potions that grant you 1,000 crafting badges or 1,000 honor points. Honor points can be earned through quests (between 400 and 1,000 for high-level quests) and crafting badges can also be collected through challenges and quests.
The advantage of the premium pass is that you apparently can complete one more mission per day. This also results in faster progress in the free passes.
Free Battle Pass includes old Pay2Win items
What is behind the free pass? Through the free pass, you can earn items that fall into the Pay2Win category, including:
Potions that restore work points.
Boosts that increase your earned honor points from quests.
Boosts that increase loot drop rates.
In total, there are, at least according to the test server, four passes for the third and fourth quarters of ArcheAge Unchained. One, the general pass, is available permanently and the premium variant only costs gold.
The other three are time-limited and offer the premium version for 10 Euros.
What can you get for diligence coins? Diligence coins are another reward that can only be earned through the free passes. For these, you receive:
Various boosts.
Items that increase the chance of successful upgrades of equipment.
Items for changing gender.
Tax assessments and fuel.
Content for housing.
Weapon skins.
A single hint of Pay2Win
What is the conclusion from the shop? The contents of ArcheAge Unchained apparently truly forgo any form of Pay2Win. Neither in the shop nor in the paid Battle Passes can one find items that provide gameplay advantages on the test server.
The only downside could be the one additional mission through the premium Battle Pass. This could allow you to complete the free Battle Pass faster and gain faster access to the boosts and other advantages from it.
With the release of Shadowkeep, the base game Destiny 2 including some additional content will be free-to-play. We show what you get with New Light for free and what you can look forward to in Season 8 without any additional costs.
Wait, Destiny 2 is going free-to-play? Yes, in the form of Destiny 2: New Light. This allows you to play the base game along with its Year 1 DLCs and some additional selected content without spending a single cent.
What’s in Destiny 2: New Light
When exactly will Destiny 2 go free-to-play? The transition to free-to-play will coincide with the release of the major autumn expansion Shadowkeep, on October 1, 2019 – and this applies to all players on every supported platform (PS4, Xbox One, PC (Steam), and later also Google Stadia)
What Destiny 2: New Light Generally Offers
Recently, Bungie clarified the free content further. Therefore, we updated the article on September 30.
What content does New Light offer? Included in New Light are
as well as in-game events such as Iron Banner, Festival of the Lost, the Dawning, Crimson Days, Solstice of Heroes, or Revelry
be freely played. Also included in New Light are all Year 1 Exotics, i.e. weapons and armor. The following Year 2 Exotics can also be found in the free-to-play version:
By the way, the subclasses from the Forsaken expansion are missing in Destiny 2: New Light. However, if you purchase the new Shadowkeep expansion and skip Forsaken, you will still receive these subclasses.
However, you still have to pay for: Additional content, such as the Forsaken expansion, Shadowkeep, or the Season Passes remain paid and can be optionally purchased.
In a developer blog, Bungie has now revealed which free content will be available to all Guardians in Season 8, the Season of the Undying. The following content will also be completely playable with New Light, i.e., without a Season Pass:
The Moon location: The Moon will be introduced in the paid Shadowkeep expansion, but you can explore the new location on patrol without any additional cost and complete Bounties there.
The first opening mission of Shadowkeep: To get a taste of what the Guardians can expect in Shadowkeep, every player will be able to play the intro mission at no additional cost.
Two new strikes: With Shadowkeep, two new strikes will be added to the game. Both can be played for free.
Crucible updates (PvP): The Crucible is being further developed by Bungie. The changes will come in the form of free updates to the game that all players will benefit from.
Two new PvP maps: Two maps from the Destiny 1 era are returning in Season 8: Widow’s Court and Twilight Gap. All players have free access to these new maps.
Elimination: This popular PvP mode from Destiny 1 will return in Season 8 and will initially be playable in the Crucible Labs (a kind of test environment).
The new armor system Armor 2.0: With Armor 2.0, Destiny 2 is revolutionizing its armor system. Finally, you no longer have to compromise between looking good and functionality. You can read more about it here: The new Armor 2.0 revolutionizes Destiny 2
Seasonal artifact “Eye of the Gate Lords”: Seasonal artifacts are meant to keep the seasons fresh. These are items through which you unlock various perks or bonuses that you can then apply to your Armor 2.0 gear. This way, your character can be further adapted to your personal playstyle. More on this here: How powerful the 1st artifact in Destiny 2 makes you – We know all the bonuses
The new finishing moves: Destiny 2 will introduce what are called finishers with the release of Shadowkeep. For some Super energy, you can stylishly eliminate low-health enemies and even trigger useful effects like additional power ammo drops with mods. Here are more details: What the new finishing moves from Shadowkeep entail
New Pinnacle Weapons? Initially, two new Pinnacle Weapons were announced for Season 8. These are special legendary weapons with unique perks, which are essentially some of the best that Destiny 2’s arsenal has to offer. Both were supposed to be freely obtainable for all Guardians.
However, there has been a change. Pinnacle Weapons in their original form will likely no longer exist. Instead, they are set to be replaced in Season 8 by ritual weapons. There will be a total of three of these – from the Vanguard, from PvP, and from Gambit. Whether these weapons can also be earned by all Guardians remains to be seen.
Free rewards within the season pass ranks: With Season 8, Destiny 2 will receive a kind of battle pass system, with which both season pass owners and users of the free-to-play version can earn various seasonal rewards. You can find out more about it here: Destiny 2 introduces new season pass: season ranks, rewards, monetary investment
These legendary weapons and armors are just a preview of the season pass. If you want the best rolls, you need to play seasonal activities to obtain them.
By the way, upgrade modules are a type of voucher for infusion.
What do you think about the content that can be played for free? Is it an appropriate scope?
