Pearl Abyss, the company behind the MMORPG Black Desert Online, has announced four new MMOs. Among them are MMORPGs and an MMO shooter.
What is Pearl Abyss announcing? In a press release, the developer of Black Desert announced that they are currently working on four new games, all of which are set to be presented at G-Star 2019.
The G-Star is the largest Korean gaming expo, taking place from November 14 to 17. Pearl Abyss will be present and has its own announcement event, which will be streamed on Twitch and YouTube on November 14 at 5:00 AM our time.
Why are the MMOs interesting to us? Pearl Abyss has published dedicated websites in English for all four games. Apparently, the Koreans want to quickly bring the new MMOs to the West.
All four games have their own distinct direction and target audience. We will reveal what lies behind the MMOs.
What new games are these? The first new announcement is Crimson Desert, an open-world MMORPG. It is set in a fantasy world where three tribes fight for control of the continent of Pywell.
Crimson Desert has been in development since 2018 and is produced by Jason Jung, the former game designer of RYL Online. He is joined by Eter Lee, also a developer of RYL Online, who is responsible for the action combat system of the new MMORPG.
It could be that this is Project CD. This game is expected to differ from traditional MMORPGs and mainly be released for consoles.
What MMORPG is coming next? The second MMORPG is called DokeV and is said to be a collection game for all ages. The project is overseen by a former animation director and a game design director from Black Desert.
DokeV is likely the Project V announced in March 2019. The game is set to receive a brand-new engine and become a “lovable family MMORPG.” The first images show a colorful world that could be used for VR.

The first shooter from Pearl Abyss? The third MMO will be a shooter and is named Plan 8, which was previously known as Project K. It is being developed by Minh “Gooseman” Le, who, together with Jess Cliffe, developed the Counter-Strike mod for Half Life. An environment director from Black Desert is also involved.
The world of Plan 8 is expected to be futuristic and rather dark. The new engine, which is also used for DokeV, will be utilized. A first trailer is planned for the announcement on November 14.
MMO shooters are rather unusual for Korean companies, so we are curious to see how Pearl Abyss implements the game.

The Shadow Arena returns: A fourth game being presented at G-Star is Shadow Arena. This is a standalone version of the battle royale from Black Desert.
Only a few hours after the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC, modders were already hard at work. They are developing quirky mods that replace your cowboy with eagles, wolves, or other animals.
What is this mod? On the platform Nexus Mods, there is this tool that frees you from the body of Arthur Morgan and transfers his soul into a wild animal.
The software is simply called “Model Swap” and is still a work in progress. Nevertheless, you can already download and install the unfinished project to swap bodies. It works with various characters or animals from the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. The mod uses files that you can easily load and apply.
So if you want to explore the world as an eagle, you just load the corresponding save game and take to the skies. However, the controls may take some getting used to, according to Eurogamer .
Are there any issues? The creator of the mod, TanyaeNorth, explains that not all models work. So you have to experiment a bit to see what works. Crabs are currently unfortunately invisible, but panthers are said to work. All adult male models are reportedly not functioning.
Additionally, it is important that you first back up your save file elsewhere, so you can restore it if needed. You should also not enter the online world, Red Dead Online, with these mods, but only play singleplayer.
Here’s how to swap your save game: Open your Rockstar Games Launcher, click on Settings, click on Red Dead Redemption 2 under your installed games, and then click on “View save files” and “Open”. It’s best to create a backup of this folder now.
Now download the mod from Nexusmods.com. Open the folder you downloaded from the mod platform, select the appropriate model, and copy and replace it in the target folder. That should complete the swap, and you’ll have a new model to play with in RDR 2.

The open beta of the MMORPG Bless Unleashed has launched on Xbox One. Everyone can join now. The initial reactions are quite positive.
When did the open beta start? On November 7th, developer Neowiz opened the gates to the free, open beta of the MMORPG Bless Unleashed. Now anyone who wants to check out the online game on Xbox One can join.
How long does it last? The testing phase ends on November 21st. The official release of the MMORPG is expected in early 2020. The developers did not specify an exact date. They want to implement feedback from the open beta to further improve Bless Unleashed for the official launch.

Update 1.07 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is coming, and the patch notes are causing a lot of excitement. Claymores and the 725 shotgun will be nerfed after much criticism.
What will be addressed? The patch tackles almost all major complaints from the last few days. Claymores and various weapons will be nerfed. Additionally, the Spec Ops mode, plagued by many bugs, will receive some improvements.
The fans are already celebrating the update because it shows that the developers have listened closely to the criticism and are now trying to implement the community’s wishes.

Changes to footsteps: Adjustments have been made that slightly dampen the sound of footsteps, but Infinity Ward also announced that an upcoming patch will further change this and make the footsteps significantly quieter.
This will please many fans, as it has often been criticized that one cannot move quietly. You would be heard everywhere.
Various adjustments to weapons: The biggest highlight here is probably the nerf for the 725 shotgun. It was almost regarded as a sniper rifle and is now being adjusted.
Alongside the shotgun, the M4A1 assault rifle was also criticized. It has now been nerfed as well. It has a stronger recoil and the damage range has been reduced.
In addition to these weapons, there were further adjustments to firearms. This affects, among others, the PKM and the UZI SMG.

That’s why it’s something special: No team has ever managed to achieve the Grand Slam in LoL – not even the dominant Koreans like SKT1 (World Champions 2013, 2015, 2016) or Samsung Galaxy (World Champions 2014, 2017).
Last year, the Chinese team Royal Never Give Up had the opportunity to win the Grand Slam before the Worlds. They had won both splits in China and the MSI, but things did not go well in the Worlds.
Star-player Uzi and RNG won the MSI in 2018 and were seen as favorites for the Worlds – They failed against Jankos and G2 Esports.

In Pokémon GO a new event has started around Team GO Rocket. For the first time, Shiny Meowth and additional spawns related to the villains will be introduced.
How long does the event last? The event started yesterday at 10 PM. It lasts exactly one week and ends on November 14 at 10 PM.
During the event period, there will be increased spawns of Pokémon related to Team GO Rocket and a new Shiny will be introduced.

What about new raid bosses? Niantic has announced new bosses, but initially, the old bosses continue to appear. However, players are now reporting that they are finding new Pokémon as raid bosses.

The layering in WoW: Classic will soon be turned off. But the problems have been piling up in recent days. Can this work?
In World of Warcraft Classic, “Phase 1” is rapidly coming to an end. Phase 2 is set to begin next week on November 12, bringing new content. Much criticism on Reddit: In the WoW: Classic subreddit, there are currently several posts daily complaining about the problems in PvP. Some report that the delays occur even when players gather in completely different locations. For instance, when several hundred players are present in Stormwind, it can lead to problems in all areas struggling with lag.

When is the patch coming? The hotfix will be deployed overnight from Thursday, November 7, to Friday, November 8, on all platforms – by midnight. The new patch includes a lot of adjustments, both for Bloody Harvest and for the game outside of the event.

What’s changing with Captain Haunt: Since Bloody Harvest started, players have been able to chase ghosts for strong loot. Captain Haunt should mainly fill the inventories, but until now, he hasn’t done that. That’s changing now: The chance for legendary loot has been drastically increased.
However, the boss is also getting a bit stronger: His shields will be improved. According to Gearbox, this is because many players have taken him down too quickly and thus missed out on “entire phases” of the boss fight. So it’s worth challenging the top ghost again!

Further changes in Bloody Harvest: There are further changes that players will be pleased about. On the one hand, the ectoplasm rate has been increased.

What has also been adjusted: Even outside the event, some adjustments have been made. On the one hand, anointed enemies are no longer immune to cryo damage. While you still can’t freeze them completely, you can at least slow them down. Zane players will likely appreciate this news.
In addition, Gearbox responded to feedback that the screen was sometimes too filled with explosions: “Explosions caused by enemy badass weapons now have a much faster explosion effect to reduce the chaos on screen.” This should make it significantly clearer, especially in the endgame.

What is Black Desert Mobile? The MMORPG for smartphones takes place in the same world as Black Desert Online, and PC players will immediately recognize areas, certain NPCs, and enemies.
However, the two games are not identical. The differences mainly lie in the combat system, the instanced world, and various small details. Consequently, there is no crossplay, not even with consoles.
Who can already play Black Desert Mobile?BD Mobile was released on October 24 in various countries. Currently, only Sweden and Ireland from Europe can try out the new game.
However, the mobile game is supposed to be released in every country by the end of the year. Fans from Germany will therefore get access by December at the latest.

Our author Alexander Leitsch played for nearly 7 hours and shares his impressions with you. An Aquaris X with Android 8.1.0 was used for this. Unfortunately, Black Desert Mobile could only be played at medium graphics.
How does character creation work? At the launch of BD Mobile, I created a new character. The character editor of Black Desert is known for being very detailed and deep. The mobile game is no different.
At the beginning, I could choose from various templates or adjust every detail myself. With the help of the touchscreen, I could modify cheekbones, nose size, and chin at will.
All bright areas on the face can be customized
The editor can impress with a large selection. For example, I have 20 different hairstyles available in 256 colors for my Valkyrie in the image above. There is also a save function, which allows me to secure my settings and use them again later.
What classes are available in BD Mobile? While the character editor can certainly compete with the PC version, the situation is different with the classes. Currently, only 5 are available, each only offering one gender, just like the PC version:
Warrior – Male
Ranger – Female
Witch – Female
Giant – Male
Valkyrie – Female
In Black Desert Online, I currently have access to 18 classes, including the relatively new Shai class. However, many of these were added later, so the new mobile game could also be expanded in the future.

Action combat system – Does it work on smartphones?
How is the combat system in BD Mobile? The biggest difference between the mobile and PC versions lies mainly in the combat system for me. Black Desert places great value on dynamics and fast, action-packed battles.
The mobile version also tries to implement this, but suffers from the fact that I only have 8 skills available. Additionally, the game loses some dynamics because I often got stuck on objects or items in the world.
In the fight against Rednose, a boss from Black Desert, small stones were repeatedly in the way, and the walls quickly felt constricting. Together with the small display, frustration replaced dynamism for me.
The first steps in Black Desert Mobile
Nevertheless, fighting was more enjoyable compared to my previous mobile experiences with Lineage 2 Revolution and Perfect World. This was also because there was no auto-fight available, although I had seen this in videos from Korea.
I even found this positive because, although some dynamics were lost, fighting was certainly fun. This was also due to the good integration into the UI:
There are white circles around the combat skills that represent the number of uses. These skills also recharge mana.
Below the large attack button are three small white bars. They display my stamina, which I can use to perform rolls.
Four additional skills are located on page 2 of the skill bar, which can be accessed by swiping to the right. This allows for quick switching between the 8 skills.
Instances in Black Desert Mobile? My experiences in the mobile game start in Velia, a fishing village that can also be found in the PC version. There, I complete the first quests, which can be quickly done with auto-run.
However, I notice that there is a short loading screen after leaving the city. The world of Black Desert Mobile is occasionally instanced, while the PC version is entirely free of transitions. This seems to be a compromise for playing on a lower-performance platform.

However, in Black Desert Mobile, some aspects are intentionally instanced. The fight against the goblin Rednose takes place in a separate scenario. In the Black Desert Online, the same boss is found in the open world.
In fact, I later learn in my camp that there are boss challenges that take place at different difficulty levels. I can challenge Rednose repeatedly, with increasing difficulty each time.
Instanced boss challenges – A cool feature
What is the camp? The most interesting aspect for me in Black Desert Mobile is my own camp. There, I can build buildings, such as the rush board where the boss fights take place.
But I also have a town hall, a pub with new tasks, and a personal storage available. Additionally, there are own fields that can be farmed and harvested.
I can assign workers to either building or gathering tasks. However, they require accommodations, which also need to be built, and they keep working even when the game is not running.
My own camp
A fun activity if you want to play a bit of Farmville alongside the MMORPG. However, some workers can also be lazy, get tired, or need to be fed by me.
But it is worth it in the end because, for example, the refinery rewards me with black stones, which I need for upgrading equipment.
Dungeons in Black Desert Mobile? Also in the camp is the expedition gateway. There, you can set off into a kind of dungeon with up to five players. This offers another PvE content alongside the repeatable boss battles that Black Desert does not have on PC.
However, I could not try this because my equipment level was too low. This video shows that the Ancient Warrior is a larger boss battle.
Dungeons in Black Desert?
How does crafting work? Black Desert Online is known for its freedom, good crafting, and economy. At first glance, the systems in Black Desert Mobile do not seem as deep.
Much seems to take place in the camp, which I personally find more enjoyable. However, a more detailed description would require a more thorough test.
The same goes for PvP, which I have not been able to test so far.
Commonalities between the games
What connects the two MMORPGs? While I have mainly written about the differences so far, it is now time for the commonalities. And there are plenty:
The game world is the same, with many familiar places.
Bosses like Witch Marie or Kzarka can be recognized instantly.
Some NPCs, the Black Spirit, or other details also feel familiar immediately.
You can flag yourself for PvP in the open world.
There is an enhancement system for equipment that is also associated with luck.

Nice graphics on the smartphone, if it is good enough
How does BDO look graphically? In many tests, Black Desert Mobile is primarily praised for its good graphics. This is probably true if you can play the game at maximum graphics and then consider the small screen.
However, I could not maximize the graphics on my Aquaris and find the result on the PC monitor rather disappointing. You have already gathered some impressions from the screenshots.
On the other hand, I have already seen some videos and screenshots that look significantly better. There are many settings available, so the game can run on many devices. The result would probably have been much better with a high-end smartphone.
Fighting in Black Desert Mobile
How is the interface? I have mixed feelings about the interface in Black Desert Mobile. While I’m completely convinced by the UI around combat skills, I find it somewhat cluttered otherwise.
However, it is positive that you can collapse the map. This significantly gains space.
How is the battery life? I was also surprised by the heavy drain on my battery. In tests, about 70% of my battery was drained in roughly 2 hours of gameplay. My smartphone has a built-in LiPo 3100 mAh battery that lasts from morning to evening under normal usage.
Pay2Win in the shop?
What does the Black Desert Mobile shop look like? I cannot currently answer this question. The pearl shop was disabled for me. Apparently, there were some things in the shop that fall into the Pay2Win category.

Will Black Desert stay on my smartphone? After about 7 hours, I can say that the time was not wasted. The boss battles and my camp particularly appealed to me and kept me entertained.
Especially the camp made sure that I checked in on the go (from Wi-Fi) into the game. Something that no other mobile game has managed. Accordingly, Black Desert Mobile gets many things right that other mobile MMORPGs fail to achieve. These include:
The combat system is fun, and the opponents are challenging. I died with Rednose, just as I did with the goblins when I pulled too many. This did not happen to me in Perfect World and Lineage.
There is a good achievement system, and it feels very rewarding.
The UI looks neat.
The graphics are very good, even if not on weak smartphones.
The camp offers many side tasks that always encourage checking back in.
The only downsides currently are the shop, which already looks quite Pay2Win, and the controls in general. I find this difficult with many mobile games.
Black Desert Mobile has individual gameplay features that excel in their own right and distinguish the game from the PC version. That’s why it stays on my smartphone. However, there are many areas in which I prefer the PC version, also because I prefer playing MMORPGs with mouse and keyboard than on a smartphone.
In Pokémon GO, the hunt for the Rocket bosses and Giovanni has officially begun. The new special research brings new elements – apparently also a legendary Crypto trio.

In Destiny 2 the hotfix 2.6.1.1 has been deployed today on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The servers also went offline for a while – so there was no downtime. Read here everything about the course of the maintenance work, the server downtime, and the patch notes.
This evening you can expect a new update for Destiny 2 – and at an unusual time. Normally, updates are always released on Tuesdays. However, today it’s not a big update but a hotfix that aims to solve some urgent issues. This is already live and can be downloaded. On PS4, the patch is approximately 4.12 MB in size and will be applied in-game during log-in.
These times are important today: As part of the update, there will be maintenance that takes the servers offline for 15 minutes. Provided that everything goes according to plan, here is the schedule for this evening:
Maintenance starts at 5:00 PM German time.
At 5:45 PM the servers will be shut down, and all Guardians will be removed from their activities. Some features of the Bungie.net site, the companion app, and third-party services will be unavailable.

The 17-year-old player FaZe Jarvis has been banned by Epic for life in Fortnite . Now Epic has commented on the case: The young YouTuber can hardly hope for mercy. How could you grab the emblem? Originally, the emblem was probably only intended for China. On Bungie’s Weibo page, two captchas were displayed – but with Chinese writing.
However, some Guardians from the West quickly figured it out, and guides were created. Those who could successfully get through the double captcha process received a unique IP-related code.
This had to be entered on the Destiny 2 code redemption portal. This is how players received the corresponding emblem in-game.
What is the problem? Apparently, many Guardians did not want to miss out on this free and rare emblem. It was in such high demand and the rush was so large that the captcha website was overwhelmed extremely quickly.
For some time it still worked flawlessly, but soon had to be reloaded multiple times to even see the captcha puzzles. And since today, the site has not worked at all.
Can you still get the emblem somehow? Players are now reporting that they can no longer redeem their codes. Many find it disappointing because they would have liked one too. Especially some passionate collectors are upset about it.
