Since last Friday, you can find Shiny Riolu in Pokémon GO. Getting the new Shiny could be quite expensive. Trainers have calculated that you have to spend 150 euros for the theoretical chance.
Here’s what it’s about: In the Sinnoh event, which ends tonight, February 10th, at 10 PM, Shiny Riolu is appearing for the first time from the eggs. It is even a bit more common to find in 7-km eggs.
However, if you want to have a Shiny Riolu in the end, you’ll have to dig deep into your pocket to have a good chance. You need to spend around 150 euros to have a good probability.
700 eggs for a Shiny Riolu
Here’s how it was calculated: Riolu hatches from the eggs during the Sinnoh event with a chance of about 1 in 14. Additionally, there’s the Shiny chance of baby Pokémon, which is 1 in 50.
If you combine these two chances, the probability is 1 in 700 that you get a Shiny Riolu from an egg. This means you need to hatch 700 eggs to obtain the desired Shiny.
The Shiny form of Riolu is quite rare
How expensive is the fun? If you want to hatch 700 eggs and not rely on the free incubator, you need to buy a total of 234 incubators.
If you buy the incubators currently in the adventure box, you need to buy 13 boxes, as there are currently 18 incubators per box.
To purchase 13 boxes, you need 19,240 coins, which correspond to a value of about 150 euros. At least, you would have to buy the coin bundles for 109.99€ and for 43.99€. Strictly speaking, that puts you at 153.98€, but you would still have 460 coins left.
You need to hatch 700 eggs to have a theoretical chance of Shiny Riolu
This is what reality looks like: The chance of Riolu is only increased during the Sinnoh event. So, to “only” have to hatch 700 eggs, you would have to get them all during the Sinnoh event.
However, that’s not possible, as the Sinnoh event lasts only one weekend. You can’t open that many gifts per day to get a total of the 700 7-km eggs.
On the best day, you could receive about 40 eggs from gifts. If you got that many eggs on all 4 event days, you would only come to 160 eggs, not the required 700 eggs.
Things to consider in the calculations: Of course, everything here revolves around probabilities. You could also have had a Shiny Riolu in the first egg or hatch 1,000 eggs and still not get the coveted Shiny. So, if you already have a Shiny Riolu, you can consider yourself lucky.
This calculation only shows that Shiny Riolu is incredibly rare and can become quite expensive if you really want it.
Additionally, you must consider that this chance was only calculated for the Sinnoh event. Outside of the event, Riolu is significantly rarer in the eggs, making it necessary to have even more luck or spend even more money in the future.
The beautiful anime MMORPG Blue Protocol shows a new trailer. We are apparently really expecting some sort of playable anime.
What does the new trailer show? The primarily Japanese video focuses on the story of the action MMO. A fan-subtitled version of the trailer also allows us to partake in the story.
We learn that we embody heroes who traveled back 1,000 years from the future to save the world from a catastrophe. To do so, they must free the mythical monster Avalitia. However, in the past, it is only a legend.
We see plenty of scenes from the game, including battles as well as some NPCs. The battles run, as seen in previous videos, very action-packed and quickly. There is also a brief glimpse of a wolf-like mount.

Story-Driven Anime MMO
What does the trailer reveal? The video gives the impression that the MMO Blue Protocol is extremely story-driven. If one did not know that it was a game, the trailer could just as easily belong to a 3D animated anime.
The focus on the story and also important NPCs for the narrative indicate that an online game aimed at players who love engaging stories in an MMO is to be expected.
Why was the trailer released? In Japan, the closed beta of Blue Protocol starts in March. Registration will be possible from February 12, presumably on the official website. To spark interest, publisher Bandai Namco has now released this beta trailer.
Beta Offers More Insights
Can we also participate? Apparently, there is no region lock. This means, in principle, you can register and if selected, you can play. However, the game is currently still in Japanese.
An English localization is planned according to a job advertisement. However, whether this will be available during the closed beta is questionable. When the MMO will officially launch here is unclear.
Is there an NDA for the beta? No. Every tester can freely speak and write about what they experienced during the testing phase in Blue Protocol. So we can expect a lot of new information about the game.
Are you excited for Blue Protocol? Did the beta trailer make you want to play it yourself?
We want to know which tasks you prefer to take on in a group. Do you stick to one role or do you enjoy playing everything? Tell us!
What is the “Holy Trinity”? In many modern MMOs, classes are divided into three main categories, which determine the distribution of tasks within an MMORPG group:
Tanks, who absorb the attacks of enemies and draw their attention.
Healers or supporters, who buff the group and keep them alive
Damage Dealers (DDs), who deal a lot of damage to the enemy
This concept gained popularity primarily through WoW and has spread in the genre since. Many players have focused on specific roles over the years.
Some prefer to roam the world as DDs. As mages, they rain death and devastation upon their foes. Or they sneak up behind their enemies as rogues.
Since the days of pen-and-paper games, paladins have been considered the epitome of a tank
Others prefer to don heavy armor and stand up to protect their comrades. They often wield a shield, like paladins, who are often tanks in MMORPGs.
And the third group typically consists of priests or druids, who support the group with their buffs and healing spells. Some would even say they bear the greatest responsibility among all roles.
The roles of the Holy Trinity are, of course, not mandatory and are not represented in all MMORPGs. Are you purists who only play a specific role? Or do you enjoy playing all roles equally? Or do you even reject the Holy Trinity system and prefer hybrid classes? Tell us!

What does the new trailer for Season 2 show? First of all, the video confirms the start date of Season 2. Although it has been hinted at multiple times, it is now certain – the new Season 2 starts on February 11th.
What else is in it?
A closer look at Ghost, the new operator from the Season 2 Battle Pass
New multiplayer maps where you will soon be able to have fun in standard formats like Team Deathmatch or Domination: the popular and already leaked Rust as well as the map Atlas Superstore – a kind of hardware store or warehouse.
Furthermore, there is a new firefight map Bazaar and a new map for the large 64-player mode Ground War. This is called Zhokov Boneyard and takes place in a junkyard with many containers and airplane wrecks.
Additionally, a closer look at the two new weapons from Season 2. These are the Grau 5.56, an assault rifle in the style of the Sig 552 Commando, and the Striker 45, a submachine gun that is reminiscent of the HK UMP 45.
Some skins from the new Battle Pass are also visible.
When will Season 2 finally be officially introduced? Many details about the new Modern Warfare Season 2 are already known.
However, many are still eagerly awaiting the reveal. Because it usually turns out to be more extensive and also offers some kind of roadmap so that players know when to expect what. And not least due to a potential Battle Royale.
Infinity Ward and Activision don’t have much time left for that. Tomorrow, February 11th, probably around 7:00 PM German time, Season 2 starts.
A reveal is therefore due either tonight or at the latest tomorrow morning. Then we should finally learn more details about the new season.
What do you think about Season 2 so far? What are you most looking forward to? Or do the leaked contents so far leave you cold?
A call for improvement in World of Warcraft simply never ends. Players want account-wide essences. Since these are missing, they prefer not to play at all.
Since the release of Patch 8.2, Rise of Azshara, there has been a major point of criticism regarding Battle for Azeroth. The essences for the Heart of Azeroth make up a large part of character strength, but are difficult to unlock.
For many players, this is a huge hurdle that keeps them from playing their alt characters at all. The desire for “account-wide essences” has been a major concern for players for months.
What is the problem? Essences for the Heart of Azeroth are an essential part of character strength in the current World of Warcraft. They not only provide strong passive bonuses but also additional active abilities. While Rank 1 of an essence can usually be unlocked in a few hours, higher ranks often require significant effort that can take days or even weeks.
Especially with the reputation factions or PvP, this is difficult when players do not enjoy these types of content at all.
The grind for essences is overwhelming for many players.
This is what players have to say about it: In the recent post on the WoW subreddit, many players voice their opinions and share their perspectives. We want to reproduce some of their comments here. They represent many voices as they have received numerous upvotes.
For example, Roentgen1666 writes:
I love WoW. I love raiding. I have little time to play. I love playing alt characters. But I can’t, because the things that should be account-wide are not. Instead of playing more because I enjoy my twinks, I play less because I’m bored with my “main” and definitely do not want to invest all the hours to repeat all the things I’ve already done just to make a second character playable. These grinds do not increase playtime, Blizz, they lower it. (…)
This is responded by yuriaoflondor:
Yep. Today I decided that I want to try a priest in raids. I had leveled him to max level at the launch of BfA, but that was it. Then I realized that I first have to unlock my [legendary] cloak, grind the daily quests to level up my cloak, then do the horrific visions, find a new weapon, and grind for essences, and ONLY THEN would I be able to have fun in raids. That’s just too much.
What is Blizzard doing? Despite all the criticism, Blizzard has not released any plans to unlock essences account-wide. However, they have indeed reduced the grind for some essences. Just a few nights ago, the reputation requirements for the latest essences in Uldum and the Vale of Eternal Blossoms were lowered from Exalted to Revered.
Would you play more with account-wide essences? Or is it fine that each character has to unlock them individually?
In FIFA 20 the TOTW 22 (Team of the Week) will be released on Wednesday. Find out here which players have a good chance of getting a spot in the new Team of the Week.
What are TOTW Predictions? The predictions for the Team of the Week are forecasts made by the community. The aim is to guess which players will be chosen by EA for the next TOTW based on their strong performances over the weekend.
Surprisingly often, the predictions hit the mark and many players are accurately forecasted. However, the predictions are not a guarantee.
Prediction for the Team of the Week 22 in Ultimate Team
These players from the Bundesliga could be included:
Kevin Volland had a really strong game and scored 2 goals in the top match against Borussia Dortmund. Thus, he could have earned his first Inform card in FUT 20.
This could be how Volland’s first Inform card looks like
Alexander Schwolow kept the Freiburg goal clean with 6 saves. Whether this strong goalkeeper performance will earn a TOTW card, we will find out on Wednesday.
Robin Quaison scored all 3 goals for Mainz 05 in the match against Werder Bremen with his hat trick. A strong performance that could certainly be rewarded with an Inform card.
Timothy Chandler played strongly and contributed 2 goals to Eintracht Frankfurt’s 5:0 victory against Augsburg.
Marius Bülter secured the victory for Union Berlin against Werder Bremen with his 2 goals. Thus, the midfielder could receive his first Inform card.
When the TOTW 22 will be released: Starting Wednesday, February 12, at 7:00 PM, the new Inform cards will be available in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team.
How you can now use the predictions: To quickly earn some coins in FUT, you can use the TOTW predictions. Here we tell you what to keep in mind:
In FIFA 20, you can earn top cards this year without spending a single coin. We show you the best cards that can be obtained completely for free and explain how you can benefit from them.
This is new this year: EA Sports is increasingly releasing tasks in FUT 20 through which FUT players can earn exclusive special cards. There are top cards that can only be unlocked by completing gameplay tasks. Many FUT fans are pleased about this.
You can only get this top defender if you work hard
This is why the task cards are worth it: The biggest advantage of these cards is that you don’t have to spend any coins to obtain them, making them accessible to every FUT player. You also don’t need luck when opening packs. Currently, anyone can earn the 88-rated Akanji, who would cost around 200,000 coins on the transfer market.
Additionally, these cards are exclusive and often quite strong. They cannot be purchased on the transfer market. This makes them special, and especially fans of certain players are excited about top cards of their favorites that are also free.
How to get free cards: As part of many FUT events, EA releases additional task players. For the current Future Stars event, there are 3 players that can be earned through tasks. Many players also find the league tasks interesting, which are always available where you can choose between various free cards.
Additionally, with FUT 20 the Icon Swaps were introduced. Here, you earn swap tokens that you can exchange for various icon cards.
However, new free cards occasionally appear as well.
Strengthen your team – Here’s how to benefit from the free cards
The best free cards so far: Among the free special cards released so far, there is really everything. There are young talents, established players, and former stars. Many leagues are also represented, so in principle, everyone can enhance their team with one card or another. Staying on top of this can significantly strengthen your team.
11 of the best free cards
Particularly strong and popular are the cards that can be further improved with some luck. While Plea and Mbabu are already quite good and have decent stats, these cards can receive further upgrades throughout the season.
However, midfielders like Ziyech (90) and Iniesta (90) are also very popular as they are significantly stronger than their base cards.
These free cards are currently available: Right now, during the Future Stars event, there are 3 cards that you can acquire for free. The special thing about these cards is that you can even improve them yourself through specific tasks.
You can earn upgrades for these cards
Additionally, strong special cards like Verstraete (86), Moi Gomez (86), and Politano (87) are available through league tasks. And in the season tasks, there are various storyline cards to choose from each season once you’ve collected enough XP.
The community’s take on the free content
The community is pleased: Reddit user Fragrant-Dingo says: “I think the opportunity to earn these cards makes up for the poor rewards you get for Division Rivals and Weekend League week after week.”
And Stereo-Zombie also has only positives to report: “As someone who doesn’t play Weekend League and has little coins, I’ve had a blast with these cards.”
Or HeiZenBast, who says: “For me, these tasks are the best part of FIFA this year.”
However, there are players whose opinions are mixed. For example, DaveShadow says: “For me, the tasks have somewhat ruined Weekend League. I can play 30 WL matches on the weekend only to end up with useless Red Inform cards. Or I can play 30 matches and improve Odegaard and James and additionally earn Icon Swaps tokens. These cards are at least playable.”
There are hardly any really negative voices here. What do you think about the free cards and which ones have you already collected? Let us know in our Facebook group.
In World of Warcraft, many years could pass soon. The reason for this is a small detail that suggests a faster passage of time in the new expansion …
In the next expansion of World of Warcraft, we will venture into the “Shadowlands,” the realms of the dead. But players are already speculating about the time afterwards, which could be particularly interesting. After all, there are hints in the game that time passes differently in the Shadowlands. This could mean that after “Shadowlands,” we will experience a significant time jump in the history of Azeroth.
Where does this information come from? On Reddit, a user pointed out that death knights were able to complete a quest chain for their mount in Legion. One part of the quest is given by “Salanar the Horseman.” He is an NPC who was last seen in the starting area of the death knights, where he had a connection to the Shadowlands (“Realm of Shadows”) where he resided. In Legion, he says:
Greetings, deathlord. Years have passed since our last encounter, but for me, it has only been a few days.
This is a clear indication that time passes slower in the Shadowlands. While only a few days pass there, weeks, months, or years pass in the “real world.”
Since Blizzard claims to plan about two expansions into the future, they must have already known when they introduced the quest that we would be going to the Shadowlands in the future. So this information could be a small teaser, especially since it has no other use for the quest.
How likely is that? A time jump like this would mean significant change for Azeroth and would essentially be a “second Cataclysm,” where many areas would need to be revamped. However, it would also be a perfect opportunity to bring fresh wind into the game and perhaps establish a new adversary.
This adversary could have caused chaos during the years of absence of the great heroes. Perhaps N’Zoth survived and created the Black Empire? Maybe the Void has long been attempting to attack Azeroth while we are away?
Chromie is another clue: Another hint that is often discussed on Reddit is Chromie. Chromie is a bronze dragon and is familiar with different timelines. In Shadowlands, Chromie is the contact person for new characters. They can choose an expansion with her and then experience it. The whole world is then brought up to the state of that expansion so that not four different warlords are standing in Orgrimmar.
This kind of technology would also be perfect for conducting a time jump into the future.
Beta will provide clues: It is likely that the beta of Shadowlands will already provide us with initial hints as to whether Blizzard has planned such a time jump. If there are significant (story) quests that regularly take us from the Shadowlands back to Azeroth, then they would need to be sprinkled with such hints. If that is not the case, Blizzard may have abandoned the concept of differently passing time.
However, if there are no quests that lead from the Shadowlands back to Azeroth or “back and forth,” that might also indicate that Blizzard is aware of the time shift and is intentionally proceeding this way.
The European LoL League LEC looks like a clear matter after just 3 weeks in 2020. G2 Esports seems unstoppable. They have now overrun their main rivals Fnatic and made it clear who is in charge of League of Legends in Europe. At the peak, 475,000 people were watching, a seasonal record.
It has been like this all these years: For a long time, Fnatic dominated the European League of Legends. Out of the first 6 championships, 5 went to Fnatic. But with G2 Esports, a rival emerged and both teams delivered exciting battles for the title in Europe.
This is Caps, the midlaner of G2 Esports. His switch was a shake-up of power.
This is the situation for G2 Esports: G2 Esports was only one series away from becoming World Champions last year. However, they lost that series against FunPlus Phoenix.
In 2020, they are competing with the same teams as last year. To bring some momentum, they have swapped 2 positions within the team. Perkz is now back in the mid lane and Caps has moved to the bot lane.
Bloodbath instead of a close match, as the bot lane collapses
This is how the match against Fnatic went: Fnatic was actually considered the team that had to beat G2 Esports to become champions again. They have one of the most prominent players in Europe, Rekkles, as ADC. Fnatic was the biggest team in the West in 2019, even more popular than G2 Esports in the regular season.
However, the match between the two top teams on February 8 turned out to be a bloodbath and was decided relatively early. G2 Esports won in only 30 minutes with 25-9.
The match started badly for Fnatic, as G2 Esports visited the bot lane early. From then on, G2 Esports had a gold lead and never relinquished it throughout the match.

After that, Fnatic fought back into the match and kept it relatively close until minute 22.
But a team fight broke out in the mid lane, which started out favorably for G2 Esports. After Fnatic’s ADC, Rekkles, used his stopwatch to briefly protect himself, there appeared to be a misunderstanding: His team fled, Rekkles was left isolated, and died.
Shortly thereafter, Perkz showed how to use the stopwatch correctly and survived getting focused by Fnatic.
Without the ADC, Fnatic had no chance in the next few seconds. After the fight, the score was 11-6 and G2 Esports was ahead by 5000 gold. At that point, it was basically over. In subsequent team fights, G2 Esports increased their kill count, leading to the bloodbath. The match ended in a one-sided 25-9.
This fight is attributed as a mistake by Rekkles. He misuses the stopwatch and dies early.
Once again outstanding: Perkz on Ryze. He earned his 3rd MVP title in 6 games.
It was an overall strong performance from G2 Esports. Jankos on Elise made an impact in the jungle, Wunder achieved 7-1-4 with Aatrox, and the bot lane also won clearly.
The majority of the criticism at Fnatic was directed at the supporter Hylissang. On reddit , LoL viewers see him as a “coinflip” player: Sometimes he has a good day, sometimes a bad one. This time, a really terrible one. Hylissang died 8 times on Nautilus.
Rekkles also did not have a great day against G2 Esports.

With a somewhat mean tweet, G2 Esports celebrated the victory.
The match was the expected hit with the audience. At its peak, 475,000 viewers watched, making it the most viewed match of the season so far.
G2 Esports perfect – Schalke 04 still winless
What’s the situation otherwise? The top spot in Europe seems already determined, as G2 Esports leads the league solidly with 6-0. Behind them, there are 4 teams tied for 2nd place with 4-2 wins, including Fnatic.

This year is going terribly for the German team in League of Legends, Schalke 04. There is no end in sight. Schalke took a risk before the season and recruited 3 new players to compensate for departures. Among the new signings was a 27-year-old Greek, who was once regarded as a star but difficult. Schalke apparently hoped he would lead the team.
With the new team, Schalke has not won a game yet and stands at 0-6 at the bottom of the LEC. Next Saturday, they will face G2 Esports.
The Shadowbringers expansion has revived many forgotten storylines from Final Fantasy XIV. One of the oldest of these is the Incident of Bozja.
Starting from Patch 5.25, the next quest line in FFXIV focusing on upgradable weapons from Shadowbringers begins, just like the previous relics, Anima and Eureka. This time, the nation of Bozja and the legendary “Queen’s Guard” are at its center.
I believe that Bozja will be important to us not only because of the new shiny weapons. This lore element played too significant a role in FFXIV.
So let’s take a look at what Bozja actually is and what its backstory is.
Warning: Spoilers for the main story of Final Fantasy XIV follow.
The Citadel of Bozja is one of the oldest lore elements in Final Fantasy XIV. It is first mentioned in a cutscene from 1.0 during a conversation between the two imperial legates Gaius van Baelsar and Nael van Darnus.
The region of Bozja is located in the south of the continent of Ilsabard and was home to the Helion-Hrothgar before its conquest by the Garlean Empire. The capital of the same name was the seat of their queens.
Exactly when Bozja became one of the imperial provinces is not precisely known. Garlemald began the conquest of the continent of Ilsabard according to the lore book around the year 1515 and completed it in 1520, meaning about 57 in-game years ago. The fall of Bozja would therefore be around that timeframe.
From the quest line of the job Gunbreaker, we learn that the Gunblade weapon was used by the personal guard of the queens.
The new job Gunbreaker has its origins in the region of Bozja
It all began many years ago with the Hrothgar queen Gunnhildr. The Gunblades have been passed down from one generation of Gunbreakers to the next since then. They allow their users to fire projectiles that are imbued with aether and possess magical effects.
This drastically differentiates them from the Gunblades used by the Garlean soldiers and makes them very valuable.
Of course, the upgradable weapons from Shadowbringers cannot all be Gunblades for obvious reasons. Therefore, my assumption is that our favorite blacksmith Gerolt will create the new weapons based on the technology originally found in the Gunblades.
But Bozja will become really interesting for us for another reason. The Citadel of Bozja is directly connected to the fall of the artificial moon Dalamud, which is one of the most important events in the history of FFXIV.
It all started with a rather small item. The “Lunar Transmitter,” a long-lost Allagan artifact, originally belonged to the Garlean noble house van Darnus. It was a valuable heirloom of the family.
After detailed examination of the item, the Garleans realized that it was capable of influencing the moon Dalamud. In hopes of developing new types of weapons through the artifact, the “Meteor” project was initiated.
The orders for this came directly from Emperor Solus zos Galvus and were also supported by the general population. The project was then entrusted to the brilliant scientist Midas nan Garlond, father of Cid.
Just like his father, Cid is a brilliant scientist and inventor. He leads a group of engineers and is a key figure in many quest lines in FFXIV.
Midas assembled a team of top Garlean scientists and brought the transmitter to Bozja. We do not know how long the experiments and tests regarding the artifact were conducted. However, it must have been several years, as Midas’s obsession with Project Meteor led to him raising his son Cid without a father.
During his research, Midas discovered that Dalamud was not a natural moon but an artificial satellite. The test attempts lasted until the year 1562, when a catastrophe occurred.
Although the scientists managed to awaken Dalamud from its slumber, the costs were devastating.
A beam of light shot from the core of Dalamud and consumed the citadel. All life there was eradicated in a single instant. People going about their business… Children playing in the streets… It makes me sick to think of how many innocents had to give their lives.
Cid nan Garlond
Dalamud only fired a brief salvo, but it was enough to completely annihilate the fortress of Bozja and the surrounding city. In the explosion, not only did Cid’s father die, but also the family of Radovan, the main NPC of the Gunbreaker storyline.
The destruction was so massive and total that it even deterred Emperor Solus from using Dalamud as a weapon, and Project Meteor was canceled.
After all that we now know about Solus aka Emet-Selch, he must have assumed that all possibilities for controlling Dalamud were lost with the downfall of Allag. I think further research on the moon was not worth the risk to him, that the next beam could hit the imperial capital.
However, Legatus Nael van Darnus saw the destruction of Bozja as a successful test of Dalamud’s power. He would recreate the Lunar Transmitter and drop the moon on Eorzea 10 years later.
The artificial moon Dalamud fell to the world at the end of the Patch series 1.x, causing a gigantic catastrophe. With it, the reboot of the MMORPG also came.
The Consequences of the Bozja Incident
The catastrophe of Bozja was an important turning point in the history of Garlemald. The empire lost not only one but two of its brightest scientists with the death of Midas nan Garlond.
After Cid learned what had happened in Bozja, he and some of his followers decided to turn their backs on Garlemald and flee.
However, with Midas’s death, almost all of the accumulated knowledge of the Garlean people about Allagan technology also died. The library of Bozja contained the largest collection of writings and artifacts from the time of the Allag, which were obliterated in the explosion.
It was a hard setback for the advancement of weapon development in Garlemald.
Since the destruction of Bozja, Legatus Gaius van Baelsar has been an opponent of Project Meteor.
For the ruling elite of the empire, the incident was a blot on their record. There were various attempts to cover it up, also to hide what losses the empire had incurred, but the news of the complete annihilation of one of the largest trading cities of Ilsabard spread quickly.
Especially Legatus Gaius van Baelsar vehemently spoke out against the use of Dalamud and against the resumption of Project Meteor in the year 1572, when Nael van Darnus attempted to use the moon as a weapon again.
It is better to conquer a land than to have nothing. What do we gain from ruling over the empty? I do not want to experience the Citadel of Bozja again. If you manage to bring down Dalamud, Eorzea will cease to exist.
Gaius van Baelsar, Legatus of the XIV Imperial Legion
Always a pragmatist, Gaius saw no value in governing an area devoid of all life. Perhaps it was also his memory of Bozja that prompted him to rethink, after witnessing the incredible destructive power of the Ultima Weapon in the Praetorium.
In any case, the catastrophe of Bozja was an important event in the history of Final Fantasy XIV, whose consequences are still felt today. But with Patch 5.25, the citadel will likely return and play an important role for us again.
In the recent live letter, Yoshida made it clear that the quest line through which we will receive new upgradable weapons connects to the story of the Ivalice raid. This makes sense:
Now that a civil war has practically broken out in Garlemald, now is the perfect time to support other provinces in their fight for independence.
Bozja is currently being governed by the Legatus of the IV Legion, Noah van Gabranth. He was the one who conquered Dalmasca for the Empire 30 years ago, and his full attention is currently focused on Ridoranna.
So we will do what we do best: Join the resistance and officially get on the empire’s nerves.

As seen in the trailer for Patch 5.2, we will be supported by Cid and Mikoto. Cid’s father died in the explosion of Bozja, so it only makes sense that he wants to join us on the trip there.
The question is: What will we find there? In the trailer, the scenes with Cid take place in two “locations”:
Inside a Garlean facility that could be a Castrum (from 2:16 min)
Outside in a freaky environment where everything is destroyed and parts of buildings are floating (from 2:00 min)
The second location is particularly exciting. It seems to me like a snapshot of the Bozjan Citadel just before the beam from Dalamud strikes.
Gravity is failing, buildings and streets are breaking apart, and most notably, you can see Dalamud hanging in the sky, but the city is not as utterly destroyed as it is later described.
This becomes even clearer when looking at the surroundings in the trailer sections where Cid appears: The tall building in the background of the combat scene starting from 2:05 min and the tower over which Dalamud hangs at the end look identical.
This reinforced my assumption that we are experiencing the moments right before the destruction of Bozja. So far, we could only look at the past, with the small exception of Estinien in the latest patch.
This building from the trailer is most likely the Citadel of Bozja.
However, in the trailer, we see ourselves actively fighting Garlean soldiers and mechs in the area. And we are not only traveling with Cid and Mikoto; the video also shows several Hrothgar fighters who likely belong to the resistance.
So if we are indeed experiencing the moments right before the major catastrophe in the trailer, how did we get there? I can only speculate about the answer to this question. I have a feeling it will have something to do with the white crystal seen in the trailer starting from 2:13 min, but that is pure speculation.
However, I believe that we will not only learn more about what happened in Bozja 15 years ago but also get new information about Dalamud. It is another open story thread that is being concluded.
Alongside Bozja, Ruby Weapon will also make its entrance into Final Fantasy XIV:
Deniz is the first region players visit in Temtem. A particularly strong Temtem to start with is Ganki. We explain why that is, where you can find and evolve it, in this guide.
What is Ganki? Ganki is a Temtem with the elements Electric and Wind. The Temtem looks like an oversized bee. You can find Ganki relatively early, as it is one of the common Temtems in Deniz. However, it is worth having Ganki in your team and evolving it. The traits and possible evolution make Ganki particularly strong on the first island Deniz and in the first dojo.
The Temtem “Ganki” looks like an oversized bee and is the only Electric Temtem that can be found on the first island Deniz.
That’s why Ganki is special: Ganki is the only Electric Temtem that can be caught on the first island. If you’re looking for a strong counter against Water and Wind, Ganki is the way to go. On the first island, there are also a few particularly rare Temtem to catch with Nessla, Oceara, and Barnshie.
Why is Ganki so strong in Deniz? On the first island of Deniz, you mainly fight opponents with the elements Water and Wind. The best counter against Water is Electric, and here Ganki is the best choice.
Counter means that you deal double damage to another element with one element.
Even the boss in the first dojo, Sophia, uses Water and Wind. Ganki is therefore very useful for this battle as well.
What abilities does Ganki have?
The starting abilities of Ganki are not particularly strong at the beginning, and it cannot attack either.
A high-level Ganki. Most traits are already unlocked here, only the ability “Electric Storm” is still missing. This attack is unlocked at level 32.
Until level 5, Ganki only has buffs like “Spark” and “Quickness” available. However, they do not deal damage to the opponent, and at the beginning, buffs are rather uninteresting.
From level 5, there is a first decent attack, “Wind Blade,” that relies on the Wind type.
Only at level 7 do you unlock the first Electric attack: “Thunder Shock.”
At level 16, “Chain Lightning” follows, another Electric ability that also causes high Electric damage but can hit your own Temtem as well.
Finally, at level 32, you get the ability “Electric Storm,” which deals high damage to a single target.
Ganki: Locations and Evolution to Gazuma
Where can you find Ganki? You can find Ganki on the Gift Bridges and at the top platform of the Windward Fortress. You can also find and catch Ganki in the Thalassian Cliffs.
In the area Windward Fortress in the north of Deniz, Ganki can be found very frequently. At the top of the tower, you also have the chance to catch the very rare Temtem Barnshie.
On the way to the Windward Fortress, you cross the Gift Bridges. Ganki can also be encountered here.
Can Ganki evolve? Yes, Ganki can evolve. With enough experience points, Ganki evolves into Gazuma. With the right tips, leveling up also goes significantly faster. With the Coward’s Cloak, there is another way to level up Temtem quickly.
My Ganki isn’t leveling up, what’s wrong? Ganki needs to level up a total of 27 levels in order to evolve. This means if your Ganki is at level 10 when caught, it needs to level up to level 37 in order to evolve into Gazuma. So you must add an additional 27 levels to your starting level.
The evolution happens automatically after the last necessary level up, with a nice animation transforming Ganki into Gazuma.
Can’t decide which starter Temtem to choose at the beginning? In this guide, we explain which starter Temtem suits you best:
Many are looking forward to the upcoming introduction of the cult character Ghost in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. However, many do not like his new look. They would prefer to have his old style back.
However, one aspect is hindering some players’ long-awaited introduction of this iconic figure.
What is the problem with Ghost? While the popular character is finally returning, he does so in a slightly overhauled appearance. And this new look is not to everyone’s taste.
The first leak of Ghost (Source: Reddit user Senescallo)
In previous leaks, there was already some criticism that Ghost looked strange and worse than before, assuming that he was indeed the one in the pictures.
Another leak of Ghost (Source: Reddit user Senescallo)
However, these were early designs, and it was assumed that this was not the final look, thus the criticism quickly died down.
What exactly bothers the players? Now, a first glimpse of Ghost has surfaced, showing how he will apparently appear in the game soon. And now the criticism has resurfaced.
Source: CharlieIntel
There was a look at the regular Ghost operator as well as a vague impression of an additional skin that will be available at tier 100 of the Battle Pass.
And now it appears – the early leaks were apparently correct. Ghost’s new look is seen as divided and certainly does not excite everyone.
While there are indeed players who can absolutely live with the new style, many wished for Ghost’s look from Modern Warfare 2 to return.
Ghost in Modern Warfare 2
It is said that the new Ghost looks like a voodoo doctor, as if he were painted or had ripped his mask from a cheap plastic skeleton. The new look is more akin to a Halloween costume of a 13-year-old than that of an SAS elite soldier.
In general, some players find his new appearance exaggerated. The cloak, the new, cheaply patched mask – it’s simply too much and the complete opposite of Ghost’s originally tactical appearance.
Ghost in Modern Warfare 2
With the new appearance, Ghost no longer has the special charm from before for many. Back then, Ghost simply wore a standard balaclava with a self-painted skull and cool sunglasses along with a headset.
It was very subtle and fit perfectly with the look of an elite soldier. Many players would have wished for Ghost in exactly that MW2 appearance. Instead, they got “his slow-witted brother” in a Halloween look.
Source: CharlieIntel
What are the chances of an MW2 Ghost? There are currently no official statements regarding this. However, it is quite conceivable that Ghost will receive additional skins – perhaps even one in his original look.
Just like Mara, the new operator from Season 1, was exactly such a Battle Pass reward as Ghost is now. She was also immediately unlocked with the purchase of the Battle Pass and had another skin at tier 100. Through challenges, two more skins could be unlocked for her.
It is likely that the developers will adhere to this pattern with Ghost as well. Because as of now, the structure of the Season 2 Battle Pass is similar to that of the first season. One can therefore assume that Ghost will also receive two more skins – perhaps even his original appearance.
Additionally, selling him as a special skin in a bundle through the in-game shop is conceivable. Many players would certainly buy this character, even for CoD points or money.
Both Infinity Ward and Activision are likely very aware of the cult status of this Modern Warfare icon. It is rather unlikely that they would simply ignore such an opportunity to earn extra money.
What do you think of Ghost’s new look? Do you find his revamped style appealing, or would you have preferred the old MW2 appearance from before?
Recently, we wanted to know from you at MeinMMO where in Destiny 2 you prefer to roam. Now we have evaluated the survey, and the result shows: You fluctuate between “Lord of the Rings” vibes and nostalgic spots from the predecessor.
What is the survey about? Whether a devastated Earth, a colorful alien planet, or a fantastic fairy tale world with a dragon – the Destiny franchise has created some really cool locations that stay in your memory.
Besides all the shooting, there are indeed a few picturesque spots to admire when you send your Guardian on a journey through the solar system.
Places 1 – 3 show: You love nostalgia and Forsaken
A total of 1,478 readers participated in our survey – with the following result:
Earth beats the Dreaming City – but only by a hair: The first place went to the European Dead Zone (EDZ) on Earth. However, the result was super close, with only 2 Guardians voting for the fairy-tale home of the Awoken in the Reef, which thus landed in a “mere” second place.
24% (343 votes) went to the EDZ
Also 24% (but with 341 votes) were attributed to the Dreaming City
The nostalgia location par excellence landed in third place – the Moon.
18% of the survey participants voted for the Hive-infested earthly satellite. That corresponds to 258 votes.
For many a Guardian, both the Earth and its Moon have nostalgic value. After all, many players took their first steps as Guardians right there.
Especially the Cosmodrome on Earth, which can only be briefly visited in Destiny 2, is noted by many as their favorite location. Therefore, it is probably also why the EDZ on Earth is so popular.
But the Moon, where you were already wandering during the Alpha and Beta of Destiny 1, enjoys an absolute cult status among many and is therefore also very popular in Destiny 2.
And the fact that the Forsaken expansion not only brought some of the best content for Destiny 2 in the eyes of numerous Guardians but also has a phenomenal world to offer, is shown by the performance of the Dreaming City. This location is often compared with the homeland of the Elves from the “Lord of the Rings” films due to its aesthetics.
Here’s what our readers say:
SneaX: “Earth and Moon. But the best area remains the grave ship…”
Lars says: “Clearly – the Dreaming City!”
Wrubbel believes: “Moon or Dreaming City in the third curse week.”
And GameFreakSeba believes: “Earth is definitely my favorite place. Ever since I set foot there for the first time, I just feel at home. The Moon is nostalgically also gladly visited and traveled.”
These locations you also like
The alien world Nessus is also well-received: In fourth place, with 14% and 215 votes, is the colorful planet Nessus. This place is characterized by its colorful nature, massive Vex milk-falls, a gigantic crashed spaceship, and all sorts of Vex architecture.
This mix clearly appeals to many a Guardian.
MeinMMO reader Sirius says: “Nessus… And the music is great too”
Then, in a bit of a slump follow:
with 7% (105 votes) the Red Planet Mars
with 6% (99 votes) the Tangled Shore in the Reef
These locations may not be among the top favorites, but even here, some Guardians still like to hang out. Especially the popular Warmind setting around Rasputin on Mars or the revenge campaign against the Barons in the Tangled Shore may be remembered by some players.
For example, Snake says: “From D2 definitely Mars, because it reminds me a bit of Rubicon and Co. from D1…”
These places don’t really convince you
Down at the bottom, in the last 3 places lie the planets
Titan (4%, 62 votes)
Io (2%, 30 votes)
Mercury (1%, 25 votes)
Mercury from the much-criticized “Curse of Osiris” DLC has always been considered the worst and most boring location in all of Destiny 2. Neither the current Season 9, nor the fact that you can finally ride Sparrows there could change that.
Also, Io with its many fossils and the mysterious Pyramidion building, as well as the water world Titan with its massive island facility, can inspire very few Guardians.
Were you surprised by the results? Or did you expect this outcome?
23-year-old Imane “Pokimane” Anys is the largest streamer on Twitch. She recounts that a fan suddenly appeared near the house where she streams. The fan apparently mistook her for a friend, as she had thanked him for a donation on Twitch.
Who is Pokimane? There are relatively few female streamers on Twitch with more than 1 million followers. Pokimane is by far the largest streamer on the platform with 3.9 million followers.
In 2019, Pokimane became a variety streamer. She played a range of games. Most of her time in 2019 was spent in “Just Chatting,” where she reacted to videos or interacted with the chat.
She now recounts this encounter: In a stream on February 8, Pokimane talks about a fan who appeared near the OfflineTV streaming house from which she streams.
Pokimane says: “You are my community. And in a sense, we are friends because we interact. But for this guy, it was much more than that.”
Apparently, the fan had donated Twitch currency Bits to her. Pokimane had thanked him during the stream, without giving it much thought.
However, the fan understood it as him being friends with Pokimane and that she knows him personally. Thus, he apparently wanted to visit her at the streaming house and showed up near the house.
“It was hard to deal with because I could see in his eyes that he didn’t understand it at all. Just because I respond to Bits and thank you, doesn’t mean I know you personally or that you can show up at my house.”
Pokimane recounts the incident
Pokimane describes the fan as “not quite there in the head” and the experience as “creepy.”
Twitch problem: Parasocial interaction
This is how Pokimane explains the boundaries: Pokimane explains that while this fan’s behavior is extreme, she encounters the underlying problem frequently: viewers believe they are friends with streamers because they interact with their community in chat. They then send messages and similar things.
Pokimane talks about “parasocial interaction.” This term describes when people build a relationship with an unreachable figure, such as a star or an avatar, communicating with them as if they are real and a part of their lives.
Pokimane wants to avoid being seen this way.
Pokimane says that sometimes she would like to talk more personally with individual members of her community. However, she avoids contacting community members outside of her streams to prevent these kinds of reactions. Pokimane says that there is only losing in this situation:
When you approach people kindly and reach out to them, they immediately think: “Oh, she’s writing to me. She must like me.”
If you don’t write to people, you will be viewed as snobby. Then it’s said that she is a “bitch.”
Pokimane states that when faced with this choice, she is simply a “safe bitch,” a bitch that is safe.
“Real friends” and “viewers”
This is what’s behind it: You can tell by the way Pokimane phrases things that she is cautious about the subject and aware of her role.
Because this “parasocial interaction,” where the streamer is a part of the viewers’ lives without the streamer having real personal contact, is part of the fascination of live streaming. Streamers want to be a part of their viewers’ lives and talk to fans as if they are friends. They share anecdotes from their lives and let fans watch and participate. In doing so, they incorporate viewers into their program.
It is common to thank individual fans for donations and highlight them to establish personal contact and create a bond. Additionally, streamers also answer fans’ questions or respond to their answers in chat.
In the case of some fans, this personal connection seems to work too well.
Data miners found these cool Formula 1 cars in the code of GTA 5 Online weeks ago. But when will the release finally be?
What kind of cars are these? In the large Casino Heist update of GTA Online, which was released back in December, data miners spotted a large number of vehicles hidden in the game’s code. From GTA 5, we are already used to DLCs bringing a large number of new cars that are then released piece by piece, week by week.
There was this batch of new cars from the casino DLC, including two Formula 1 cars. The Progen PR4 and the Ocelot R88. Players were already eager to try them out. Because while there are plenty of fast supercars in GTA Online, Formula 1 cars would be something entirely new.
However, to this day, there is no sign of the speedsters in Los Santos. Well, at least not officially. A few players have already extensively tested the vehicles.
This is how the F1 cars were found in the code of GTA Online – Image source: FoxySnaps
This is how they have already been tested: Clever tech enthusiasts have utilized the car’s code and loaded the vehicles into the offline world.
During testing, the testers noticed that the race cars have a boost system that you can manually trigger. To charge it, you must brake or accelerate.
In the video by Pyrerealm gaming – Rockittt, the cars are sent out for a test drive through the streets of Los Santos.

Even tuning is not neglected when it comes to the cars. Modifications for wings, tires, and more are essential to give the cars your own touch. Everything we know so far about the cars and their tuning can be seen here:
What does Rockstar say? It probably won’t be long before the Formula 1 cars enter the online mode of Grand Theft Auto V. This is supported by the fact that Rockstar Games already announced races of this type.
In 2020, many more contents will follow. For GTA Online, the next one is an open-wheel racing series with brand new vehicle types on the starting line – with thrilling, track-based high-speed races where tight curves, tactical tire choices, and perfectly timed pit stops ensure that every second counts. Additionally, expect further major updates and some surprises throughout the year.
If this description doesn’t scream “Formula 1,” then I don’t know what does.
However, we have not yet been given a fixed release date. But prepare yourselves for the fact that it probably won’t be too long before you can race through the streets with these horsepower monsters.
To ensure you can buy the cars right at release, you should start saving some money. It’s not that hard:
However, you may also just need a bit of luck. As data miner TezFunz2 on Twitter explains, the two F1 cars might also be available as a prize at the lucky wheel in the future.
Even more crazy and impressive are these triplets, all of whom have achieved Rank 14.
What happened? A few days ago, the user realfirstcream posted a screenshot in the WoW Classic subreddit. It showed him and his guild members, all of whom hold the rank “High Warlords.” That is Rank 14, the highest rank for which the most work and the greatest time investment are necessary. The post was titled: “Born on the same day, High Warlord on the same day – I and my triplet brothers fulfilled our childhood dream.”
So, who saw the druid in stealth?
They made the screenshot near Hyjal – a location in WoW Classic that is difficult to access and actually blocked off.
We at MeinMMO asked realfirstcream (Goibon in the screenshot) how they managed to do it.
He reports how they focused their entire lives around it:
We played it 24/7 every day. Ranking up is a grind! We had about 5 hours of sleep and tailored our lives around it for 3 months.
For example, we always walked all three dogs at the same time and not individually, so that only one of us had to go afk for a while. We took turns to keep it fair.
This is what they say about account-sharing allegations: The post often accused them of account-sharing or using bots – but without providing evidence. We also inquired about this and received the response:
We did not engage in account-sharing because we wanted to make a statement. It would have been very easy for us [to account-share], but we did not need to. The only type of brotherly help we gave each other was bringing cold drinks from the fridge.
The three brothers have fulfilled a childhood dream and reached Rank 14. A remarkable achievement, where surely the daily mutual motivation helped.
Do you also have the endurance for Rank 14? Or did you not even try?
A player aims to highlight one of the most annoying problems in Destiny 2 with a somewhat different kind of speedrun record – the often extremely long loading times. This is likely to resonate with many guardians, especially on consoles.
What is this speedrun record about? Reddit user pedrolopa had some fun and attempted a “daring speedrun.” Specifically, from the loading screen of Destiny 2 to the Tower on Earth.
According to his own statements, he completed this with an “incredible world record” – in under 6 minutes. For his run, the guardian needed only 5 minutes and 51 seconds.
During this, he had to fight through the annoying character selection passage, master a long flight with his ship, and even tackle some phases in complete darkness, with a completely black screen.
You can see his record run here:
https://youtu.be/9e-rwaJdNk0
According to his own statements, he could have done it even faster – if he had used the exotic sword, Worldline Zero, or had a better PC.
(I hope you can read between the lines that it’s fun. For everyone else: It’s fun.)
What exactly is the problem with the loading times? However, through his not-so-serious video and Reddit post, he draws attention to a serious problem for many in Destiny 2 – the sometimes painfully long loading times of the game.
On PC, the problem is not as prevalent – especially with better hardware, it takes between one and two minutes from login to the Tower. However, even there, loading times can become excessive in certain situations – even with decent hardware.
On consoles – even on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X – it’s different. Long loading times are an omnipresent and annoying phenomenon there. The loading sequences often take forever. Several minutes waiting on screens or even up to 10 minutes from login to landing in the Tower are not uncommon.
What do other players say about it? The video is received mixed and sparks some discussions.
Some ask pedrolopa which prehistoric hard drive he is using – with common SSDs, everything would run worlds faster on PC. Problems with loading times are rarely, if ever, found there.
Conversely, others respond that it is also a familiar sight for them – even on PC. Not everyone has an SSD, after all.
And specifically console players complain that the waiting times in Destiny 2 have become somewhat unbearable. For many, they seem to get longer with each additional major update for Destiny 2.
On consoles, a good SSD saves you quite a bit of time, although the difference is not nearly as noticeable as on PC. Even with an SSD, for example, a PS4 Pro still takes what feels like slightly less time than the standard HDD. In some instances, there is hardly any noticeable difference, and there are even strong stutters in menus now.
Even when inserting mods, there are stutters now sometimes.
Is Bungie doing anything about it? Bungie has been aware of this problem for some time – especially on consoles. And as early as late 2018, the studio announced that it was working on solutions for the loading time issues.
However, there has been no noticeable improvement to date – at least not on consoles. On the contrary – as previously mentioned, many players complain about loading times that seem to get longer after each substantial update or content release for Destiny 2. Nowadays, Destiny 2 is even stuttering for many in the inventory menu or when selecting mods.
Whether the overall problem will noticeably change in the foreseeable future remains to be seen. However, Bungie has already improved some areas with the Update 2.7.1 and is continuing to work on improving performance in the game.
Do you also see loading times in Destiny 2 as a problem, possibly a growing one? Or are the loading times still absolutely bearable for you?
A US survey asked 6200 people what their favorite brand in 2020 is. Two gaming brands rank at the top this year among people under 40: Millennials prefer Sony’s PlayStation. Among respondents under 25, Microsoft’s Xbox takes the top spot.
What kind of survey is this? It is the “Brand Intimacy 2020 Study” by the agency MBLM. 6200 people were asked for their opinion about 56,000 brands in the USA, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates.
The New York branding agency (MBLM) aims to find out how consumers perceive brands and what relationship they have built with these brands.
The survey is in its tenth year and will be published in a few days. Some results are already known.
Both brands are extremely popular among people under 40 – but there are differences.
PlayStation replaces YouTube as the most popular Millennial brand
What about the Millennials? In this survey, Millennials (or Generation Y) are considered to be people born between 1981 and 1996. This is a generation where most have now entered the workforce. They are now between their mid-20s and late 30s.
Among Millennials, the preferred brand in 2020 is PlayStation, ahead of Amazon, the retail chain Target, and Disney. Xbox ranks 9th, and Nintendo comes in 10th.
A spokesperson for MBLM says: “PlayStation has been a strong brand for Millennials in our study for years, and in 2020 they are top performers, especially among men.”
Millennials would form strong bonds with brands in the media and entertainment industry.
In the 2019 study, YouTube was still the most popular brand for Millennials, followed by Apple and Netflix.
Could Minecraft be behind the success of Xbox among the very young?
What does Gen Z say? Gen Z, also known as “Zoomers,” are born between 1995 and 2012. In the survey, they chose Xbox as their favorite brand. Following closely are Spotify and Sephora, a cosmetics chain.
Forbes speculates that the connection to Xbox could have arisen due to Minecraft. The game is extremely popular among young gamers.
The survey is particularly interesting in 2020 because gamers will be faced with a purchasing decision at the end of the year:
In October 2019, ArcheAge was released in a new version. Unchained aimed to break with the Pay2Win issues of the MMORPG and present an alternative. But did it succeed? And how do players view Unchained today?
It was to be Buy2Play instead of Free2Play. At the same time, the “optional” subscription system was omitted.
Unchained was to completely avoid Pay2Win.
A system with season passes was planned, allowing new quests as well as cosmetic rewards to find their way into the game.
Unchained garnered attention because ArcheAge was interesting to many MMORPG fans due to its sandbox world, housing, and its diverse class and combat system.
However, Pay2Win in the shop and the mandatory subscription to afford permanent content like housing in ArcheAge discouraged many players. Unchained was supposed to change that.
ArcheAge offers the opportunity for a real pirate life
Unchained launched more than bumpy
How did Unchained perform at release? Even before the new version of ArcheAge was released, there were initial problems. The release was postponed by 14 days, from early to mid-October, allegedly because the developers wanted to fix bugs and deliver a functional game. However, they only partially succeeded:
Following this, Gamigo issued a warning and subsequently there was a wave of bans. However, the bans were not consistent and led to significant discussions. Many players were unbanned afterwards.
Gamigo also decided to deactivate the pass. A return only happened after many weeks.
Does Unchained still have Pay2Win? With Unchained, Gamigo did manage to remove all Pay2Win content from the shop, but there is another method to earn additional gold.
The number of work points per day in ArcheAge Unchained is limited. You can remedy this by using additional accounts. This is even allowed by Gamigo, where a single person may own a maximum of 3 accounts. Nevertheless, many see this as an advantage and use multiple accounts for gold farming.
Unchained – Should actually do many things better than the old ArcheAge
What has happened since the release of Unchained?
What has happened since release? Along with Unchained, the major update 6.0 was also released, bringing a new class specialization and new content. Otherwise, not much has changed in terms of pure content.
There have been updates to the shop, bonus weeks, and small balance changes. Only two real news items garnered attention:
What about the Season Pass? On December 5th, the ArchePass returned to Unchained after some tests. There was again a small, but quickly resolved issue.
Since then, there have been no complaints regarding the pass. At the end of January, the pass entered its second season with new quests and rewards, also without issues.
The new ArchePass Season 2
Where are the problems? The support for ArcheAge has a bad reputation. There are reports of tickets that have supposedly gone unanswered since the release of Unchained.
Additionally, the developers from XL Games in Korea are responsible for gameplay changes. Even if Gamigo from Germany requests adjustments or features, XL Games ultimately decides whether they will be implemented or not.
What do the numbers and players say about ArcheAge Unchained?
Where does the MMORPG stand on Steam? Nearly 4 months after release, opinions on ArcheAge Unchained are still very divided. On Steam, it received 126 user reviews in the last 30 days, of which 58% were positive.
However, the game has also lost players on Steam. While in November, an average of 3,714 players were active in Unchained, in February there were only 1,833. At peak, Unchained reached 3,015 players.
A large portion of the community will likely be playing directly via the Glyph client and not on Steam. The Free2Play version of ArcheAge also appeared on Steam but never attracted a large number of players.

What stands out on Steam is that regardless of positive or negative reviews, the issue of grind is often mentioned. So those who have a problem with grind will likely not be happy with ArcheAge in the long term. The experience has also been echoed by our author while playing.
What do the positive voices say: Positive reviews especially commend Unchained for moving away from Pay2Win. ArcheAge itself seems to have fascinated many before:
Tomoko Tanue (144 hours played): “I played ArcheAge when it first came out. I loved it, but it lacked a good story and was Pay2Win. Then came Unchained [..]. ArcheAge Unchained is what ArcheAge should have been at launch.
Zccentric_Solitude (130 hours played): “This game is the last one I would have thought would be an MMO for me, but let me tell you that you will not be disappointed: Many classes and skills and versatility with over 100 different combinations. No one has such a system where it takes only a few clicks to play warrior and mage + another class.”
PauloRevolverMen (200 hours played): “ArcheAge has always been a really cool game. I only stopped playing because it was too much Pay2Win. Now it is different! You can take out members of your own faction, earn gold through the work of others. PvP is an awesome affair here. Now the game also gets a 100% recommendation from me and many friends for MMORPG fans looking for a game so extensive that you don’t need to play anything else.”
What do the negative voices say: Negative reviews especially highlight the grind and the hidden Pay2Win in the form of additional accounts. The community also does not fare well:
Kerillian von Astraea (935 hours played): “Pros: Good graphics, beautiful environment and seas, an above-average character editor, and quests for those who want to play a farming simulator. In contrast: Very grindy, you need alt accounts to play at the top, issues with work points, and the PvP balance is not good. There are many more things I could mention negatively. [Note: We have significantly shortened the comment].
Fastrider (160 hours played): “The game is no longer Pay2Win, but Buy2Pay2Win. [..] Second problem: The connection to Steam is a disaster. Third problem: The community is terrible. The chat is full of foul language, the justice system is dominated by an AFK-Hury who insults the accused. [..] Overall, it’s a club for failures with fat wallets.”
John Swayze (70 hours played): “There is one thing that really ruins the game. Players with max level and the best possible gear can come into low-level areas and wipe you out. [..] This prevents me from progressing in the game, cannot complete quests, and cannot do anything else. This has killed the game for me.
What stands out besides Steam? On the Reddit of ArcheAge Unchained, it has surprisingly become quiet. While there were many new threads and discussions daily at release, it is now relatively quiet. Only 24 new posts were made in the last 7 days.
The topics are mostly about new players asking questions about the content of ArcheAge or advertising their own projects or videos.
A good sandbox MMORPG with obstacles
What our author Alex says: I played ArcheAge at launch and set it aside after a few weeks. Although I truly appreciate the game world and the MMORPG itself, the grind was always a bit too high for me.
With Unchained, there was a second chance, and again the game convinced only halfway. There has only been limited improvement in the grind. Nevertheless, ArcheAge Unchained seems to be the somewhat better version of the MMORPG:
Since both receive the same updates, less Pay2Win, though not completely absent, is likely preferable.
At least players still have to play on the additional accounts and cannot immediately buy strong equipment with real money.
Moreover, Unchained does not require a subscription, giving players in the original ArcheAge an advantage as well.
Housing – Requires a subscription in ArcheAge, but not in Unchained
Those who enjoy exploring a sandbox world, like to compete with others in PvP, and don’t mind grinding will definitely find a home in ArcheAge Unchained.
But to play at the very top, it seems you also need to invest a lot of time and a little money again. It’s actually a shame that Gamigo consciously allows players to have three accounts.
Numerous alleged and leaked dates have passed, yet players, fans, interested parties, and critics are still eagerly awaiting the official unveiling of the PlayStation 5. Sony remains tight-lipped so far. Recently, even the PS5 chief had some fun and trolled fans with a reveal date. When will the PS5 finally be presented?
What is known about the PS5 reveal date? Officially, nothing at all. While there have been numerous leaks and speculations, none of it has been confirmed so far. On the new official PS5 website, you can only read “It will take a little while before we can fully show the next PlayStation generation.”
A date from which some expected more information was, for example, February 5th. This was based on a statement from a supposed internal source. However, this date passed without the unveiling of the PS5, so fans are still none the wiser.
Now, February 20th is being mentioned as a possible reveal date, but it seems to be just a joke from Sony.
What is the joke about? Sony likely hasn’t missed the hype surrounding its next-gen PlayStation. Recently, Shuhei Yoshida, the President of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, apparently made a little joke on Twitter and played with the fans’ emotions.
A desperate fan asked Yoshida: “Please, Shuhei, where is the PS5?”
Yoshida then replied with a picture showing the label P5S in bold – with 20.02.2020 as the date.

Even though some fans speculated that it could be a hint at the reveal date – Yoshida was probably just trolling.
Because even though he apparently used P5S as a direct reference to the PS5 here – in this case, the designation stands for the game Persona 5 Scramble, which launches on February 20th in Japan. Thus, it is unlikely that the PlayStation boss revealed the reveal date, although not 100% excluded.
Which dates are possible for the PS5 reveal? Regardless of whether the date from Yoshida’s trolling action might actually come true or not, February is generally considered likely by experts.
This is because the PlayStation 4 was unveiled at its own event on February 20, 2013. Therefore, a PS5 reveal in February is considered quite plausible – especially given the fact that Sony will skip the major gaming fair E3 2020.
And therefore, some fans also believe that despite the obvious trolling, there might be something to Yoshida’s post, and he consciously chose the date (20.02.) and the acronym P5S – even if it belongs to a game in this instance.
Furthermore, the PAX East fair will take place from late February to early March (27.02. – 01.03.), where Sony (or PlayStation) has already been confirmed as an exhibitor.
What do you think? When will the PS5 finally be unveiled? Do you believe there might actually be something to Yoshida’s tweet? And how much would you actually be willing to spend on a PS5?
