Resident Evil as an MMO doesn’t exist, but the free-to-play horror survival game Dead Frontier 2 offers an alternative with its new open world.
On March 9, the free-to-play horror MMO Dead Frontier 2 received a long-awaited feature from the community: an open world. This also provides Resident Evil fans who have always wanted to try a zombie MMO with a cool alternative.
What is Dead Frontier 2?
Dead Frontier 2 is a free-to-play survival horror MMO from the indie development team Creaky Corpse. Launched as an early access title on Steam in September 2018, it celebrated its release on July 15, 2019, and enjoys a rating of 70% on Steam. This is a good rating for the survival genre.
Here are the core features of the game:
Old-school survival horror in a dark, zombie-infested open world
Every building can be entered, search there for scarce resources, equipment, and ammunition
Scattered NPCs offer missions
You can create your own character and customize it with skills
Large PvP zones provide excitement
Play alone or with friends
Free-to-play with an in-game shop for cosmetic items

With the update on March 9, 2020, the developers added an open world. Instead of being in tight alleys, there’s now a dark city to explore.
This is what the open world offers:
Spacious city with narrow alleys, cemeteries, and small parks
All buildings can be entered
Safe outposts scattered across the map, which get attacked every 3 hours
Large PvP zone in the center
Here’s why it reminds of Resident Evil:
The graphic design resembles that of Resident Evil 4 and a sense of nostalgia fills the game
The large, zombie-infested city feels like Raccoon City, just with more survivors in it
The slow zombies are harder to defeat, like in the Resident Evil 2 remake, but alone pose no threat
The few resources must be used thoughtfully like in an old-school survival horror
The community celebrates the open world, but Dead Frontier 2 still has problems
This is what the community says: The community of Dead Frontier 2 celebrates the new open world of the horror MMO. For instance, Reddit user Pavl___ writes: “Great job with the open world. A good start for what I hope for in an open world.” Reddit user AloranSama also expresses his joy loudly: “First 30 minutes of the game: Amazing! Excellent!!”
This is what’s being criticized: Although the majority of players are happy, there is criticism of the game and the update. For example, missions are said to be offered randomly by NPCs, and leveling up the character is very tedious and involves a lot of grinding. Dead Frontier 2 tends to become monotonous quickly.
The developers continue to work on the game and regularly release small patches. The team consists of only a handful of people, and large content updates take time. This is also reflected in the player numbers. The peak of over 10,000 players at the early access launch has never been reached again, and currently, up to 1,000 players are roaming the servers.
Have you played Dead Frontier 2 yet or are you interested in it?
The coronavirus is a major topic in Pokémon GO. Developer Niantic allows trainers to play better from home, but a big problem arises: Where do I get all the balls from?
These are the corona measures: Niantic has done a lot to make it easier to play Pokémon GO from one’s own house. There are more spawns among other things, and the item incense brings more Pokémon and lasts longer.
All this sounds good and certainly allows many players to play more effectively from home. However, this cannot last long, as eventually the Poké Balls will run out.
Corona crisis leads to Poké Ball problem
Here lies the problem: Pokémon are plentiful to catch, but if you don’t have a PokéStop right outside your door, you will quickly run out of balls.
The consequence: You have to go outside and spin PokéStops again. At least you want to have enough balls to use the free incense at least.
The Poké Balls are becoming increasingly scarce
How could one handle the problem? There are several options. Here are some suggestions:
You can open more than 20 gifts and thus receive more Poké Balls
The balls from the gifts are increased – potions are reduced
PokéStops bring more Poké Balls, so you don’t have to spin a lot of stops to replenish your supply
The cost of Poké Balls in the shop is reduced
These are, of course, all measures that must be made by Niantic itself. Especially through gifts, one could quickly reduce the ball shortage.
Gifts are a good supplier for balls
What can be done so far against the ball shortage? The easiest option is to buy balls in the shop. However, they are quite expensive and certainly not a long-term solution.
Otherwise, you can also already get balls by opening gifts. So remember to open your maximum number of gifts daily.
If you need more friends to receive more gifts, you can check out our Facebook group and add new friends there.
What else is being done against the coronavirus? Niantic has taken some precautions to contain the virus:
A new expert report predicts what effects the coronavirus could have on the production and delivery of the new console generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. This time, it is not just about the postponement of the date.
What is predicted? An analysis by DFC Intelligence believes that the planned release of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X is likely to be postponed due to the coronavirus:
The economy is currently in a state of uncertainty like never before. Even if the situation clears up in a few weeks, the opportunity to release a new high-end gaming system has already been heavily impacted.
An holiday season release in late 2020 for PS5 and the new Xbox would therefore be highly unlikely. Previously, other sources had already speculated about the postponement of PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Where does the analysis come from? The analysis company DFC Intelligence has been dealing with video games and consumer electronics since 1994. They are partners of various data services, which provide them with the foundations to make such analyses.
PS5 and Xbox Series X perhaps still in 2020 – But …
What other consequences could there be? DFC Intelligence does not paint a bleak picture for the 2020 release. The analysts caution that both consoles could still actually be released in 2020.
When will I get a console? The analysis further predicts that after the release, the demand for consoles will be immense, regardless of when they are released.
The demand will be “greater than ever before”. The demand for new consoles will far exceed supply.
This means that both PS5 and Xbox Series X will be sold out at launch and likely also a few times later. The challenge for Sony and Microsoft will be to meet the expectations of the players.
What further impacts does the coronavirus have? The outbreak of the coronavirus has a larger influence on the gaming industry, but not only negative.
Since many people are increasingly required to stay at home and in quarantine, the consumption of video games has skyrocketed:
In Destiny 2, the Trials of Osiris are active again. Those who achieve a flawless run can reach the Lighthouse, the ultimate goal for PvP players. What does it look like and what is the reward for such skill?
What is the Lighthouse? In Destiny 1, the “Lighthouse” was a location on Mercury where players who played flawlessly could go. They had to finish with 7 wins and 0 losses to be able to fly to this place. The Lighthouse served in Destiny as a sort of exclusive private club for the best PvP players.
The Lighthouse was an almost mythical place in Destiny: Mere mortals dreamed of reaching it. A group of friends made it possible for their dying buddy to see the Lighthouse once, fulfilling his last wish.
In Destiny 2, the Trials of Osiris started again on Friday, and it didn’t take long for the first players to set foot on the holy PvP ground.
Who was there first? Bungie has yet to declare anyone the first player in Destiny 2 to reach the Lighthouse. However, the Twitch streamer Grenadier Jake was at least early. Fans claim the title for him and his crew. The streamer managed a flawless run and then visited the Lighthouse.
This is what the Lighthouse looks like in Destiny 2: It is an impressive setting on Mercury with a chest at the end, where Saint-14 casually hangs out.
The setting is praised as “impressive.” In a Twitch clip further down, you can admire the location.
What about rewards? When Grenadier Jake opened the chest, several materials (Ascendant Shards) and emblems rained down on him. There is also a special Sparrow and a piece of the “Pinnacle Trial Armor,” the special armor.
Additionally, the chest drops an emblem that is supposed to make the armor glow.
Loot is critically discussed – not exclusive enough
This is how the loot is discussed: There are already discussions about the loot of the Trials. The loot is viewed rather negatively. Flawless runs also need to have “flawless loot,” it is said in a thread on reddit – which apparently does not seem to be the case.
The highlight for many is the armor available there. However, according to Bungie, it can also be obtained elsewhere: The rewards of the Trials would rotate weekly. You do not have to achieve flawless runs to receive the armor, said Community Manager Cozmo on reddit.
It is criticized that special weapons are missing. In previous iterations of the Trials, there were legendary weapons with elemental damage: the Adept weapons. Those do not seem to be available this time as special rewards. Without those, the PvP pros seem to be missing something.
Another non-special characteristic of the Lighthouse now is that you can only visit it until you have opened the chest. You cannot visit the Lighthouse repeatedly once you have left; you have to wait until the next week and the next flawless run.
This is also criticized: The Lighthouse should be a social space for the PvP elite, a sort of VIP lounge, and should be available to them all week long. Apparently, the PvP elite of Destiny 2 does not feel adequately rewarded at the moment.
In Fortnite you can assign your agents to the teams Ghost or Shadow. This not only unlocks various skin variants but also seemingly unconsciously influences the story of Season 2.
What is happening right now in Fortnite? With the start of Season 2, the agent theme has been introduced. With the Battle Pass, you can unlock 5 agents.
However, this choice between the two factions seems to influence the story of Season 2.
Your choice could influence the agent story
What happens in Fortnite when you choose? It seems that the decisions players make regarding Ghost or Shadow have an impact on the story, map, and loot.
So far, it was thought that your choice would only unlock a style variant for the respective skin.
The map changes after the choice
What has changed on the map? At the start of Season 2, we got new locations on the map. These are guarded by the mini-bosses and their henchmen.
Previously, these locations were either neutral or occupied by Team Ghost. However, there were henchmen hideouts that were guarded by Shadow.
However, players could already choose which team they wanted to assign agent Brutus to. After that, there were a few minor map changes with the Update 12.10.
The new location “The Grotto”, where the mini-boss Brutus is located, has now been taken over by Team Shadow.
Either more players ultimately chose Team Shadow and were therefore able to take over the location Grotto, or the team with fewer votes always takes over.
Since you can now also assign TNTina to a faction, “The Rig” will likely change soon and be taken over by a team.
This could then provide more clues on how this voting system works.
The Rig is likely to change next
If we can really influence the story of Season 2, we should pay more attention to our decisions.
Remember what things you could influence with your choice and whether you actually stand behind your chosen team.

The community of the dino hit ARK: Survival Evolved is very active and regularly new content is created. We present you the 5 best mods that you should definitely check out in 2020.
The mod community in ARK is one of the most active in the survival genre. You can already download over 6,600 mods in the Steam Workshop. Today we show you 5 mods that are super useful in 2020.
1. Structures Plus
The Structures Plus mod is one of the most popular mods in ARK with over 2.5 million subscribers. It adds numerous items to the game that are not only useful but also perfect for building.
Highlights of this mod include:
No height limit when building
Storage boxes with a lot of space
Automatically opening doors
Loud structures like the fabricator are quieter
NPC structures that automate various processes like feeding dino babies
Over 50 unique new items
Existing structures are reworked
That’s why the mod is so good: If you like to build a lot, you can’t go past this mod. With the new items and reworked structures, it offers a variety of building options and enhances the overall gaming experience when creating houses.
Death Helper and Pet Finder are two different mods from the same creator. Together, they have around 1.9 million subscribers and do exactly what the names suggest.
Highlights of these mods include:
Your corpse is clearly marked
The position of your dinos is clearly marked
You receive a suicide potion in case you get stuck
That’s why the mod is so good: Anyone who has ever died in ARK or lost a dino in the dense forests will love these mods. Even though there is a marker for your own corpse in the game itself, the markers of the Death Helper mod are much more noticeable. And the Pet Finder is worth its weight in gold, as there is no official solution for finding lost dinos. Not to mention the GPS marker, which you can only unlock in the late game.
Ultra Stacks also does what the name says. All items are stacked in very large quantities. From 200 stacks of wood or stone, this mod goes up to 10,000. The mod has nearly 1.2 million subscribers so far.
Highlights of this mod include:
Stacks items in extreme quantities
Reduces weight
Extends durability
Warning: Since the devkits for the Genesis addon are not yet available, the mod does not work on the Genesis map or with Genesis-specific items. However, the mod is regularly updated.
That’s why the mod is so good: If you like to gather resources and are constantly loaded with items, then this mod is just right for you. It stacks all items neatly into large piles and reduces the weight at the same time. So it not only gets clearer, but you can also carry more and thus increase your efficiency.
Upgrade Stations adds a new station for crafting that allows you to manually upgrade any armor and items. You can develop your standard items into Ascended items. Over 900,000 subscribers are playing the mod.
Highlights of this mod include:
Improves all items
Mod items are also compatible
That’s why the mod is so good: Until now, items could only be found randomly in airdrops or after boss fights with a higher quality. Usually as blueprints for personal crafting. But with this mod, you can bring any item to the highest quality level, provided you have the right resources.
MarniiMods: Wildlife simply adds more animals to ARK: Survival Evolved that come from the current era. With under 25,000 subscribers, the mod is not one of the best of all time, but it is very popular in 2020.
Highlights of this mod include:
Lions
Cows
Snow leopards
Chickens
Exotic birds
Cats
Rabbits
Geckos
Owls
Pumas
Compatible with all maps
That’s why the mod is so good: If you are tired of only keeping dinos or other strange creatures, this mod will make you happy. Real animals bring fresh air into the dino daily life, and especially cat lovers shouldn’t complain.
Dead Survival Alpha has just over 4,800 subscribers, but it completely changes the gameplay in ARK. This is not a full conversion mod that would fundamentally change the game.
The mod simply adds zombies. You cannot tame them; they are hostile and hunt you in packs. You should turn off the spawning of dinos on your server for the best experience.
Highlights of this mod include:
Zombies populate the map
They are attracted by noise
Zombie attacks cause a plague that can only be eliminated by a specific remedy
They can destroy and damage structures
Every night a zombie horde can spawn near a player
Every 10 minutes, a plane drops a supply crate
The mod is regularly updated and constantly receives new features and content. So far, there are already 3 different zombie types and 3 more are planned. If you like zombies, check out the mod.
That’s why the mod is so good: The mod changes the experience you normally have with ARK and offers a good alternative to the dinos. Without pets, survival becomes significantly harder, and especially the nights are terrifying. If you like 7Days2Die, you will also enjoy this mod.
A player in EVE Online flew valuable cargo worth approximately $5,000 through space. However, he was ambushed and his possessions were destroyed. It appears that the attackers were waiting for him deliberately and with meticulous planning. They had even allowed him to pass before.
What happened? The player Lactose Intolerant has been playing EVE Online for 16 years and has collected many blueprints that are very valuable in the MMO.
He wanted to fly a large part of his possessions from one location to a larger trading hub to exchange them there for currency. During this, he was attacked and lost his ship along with blueprints worth more than $5,000. The blueprints were particularly valuable because most of the 800 blueprints had already been fully researched. This increases their value even more.
The authors of the English site PCGamer spoke with the player and the alleged attackers. According to this conversation, it seems the ambush was meticulously planned.
Battles in EVE Online can be brutal
Alliance is laying a trap for the player
What do the attackers say? One of the attackers, who wishes to remain anonymous, reports that they had observed Lactose Intolerant several times flying carelessly:
Lactose Intolerant was stubborn and didn’t care about it. On at least two other occasions, we stopped him in the game and could have destroyed him with extremely valuable loot.
But usually, I often let someone go to see if they continue to transport even larger amounts.
Aggressively Average, the alliance behind the attack, decided on that Monday evening not to let Lactose Intolerant fly by again.
Such ganks on known trade routes in EVE Online are difficult, as NPC police quickly appears to attack the attackers. Planning and the use of simulators beforehand were therefore particularly important.
The plan for such ambushes is as follows: One group destroys the opponent, then gets taken out by the NPC police, but a second group of pirates is already at the spot to pick up the loot.
Orcas are large ships but not necessarily fast
What did the attackers benefit from? The attackers benefited from the ship choice of the EVE player. He used an Orca ship, which is large and can carry a lot of cargo. However, it has little chance in battle.
That’s why players resort to ships for such transport actions that can be so heavily upgraded with mods that they can flee extremely quickly and are hard to target.
Although Lactose Intolerant is said to have equipped his ship well, the attackers were also significantly superior thanks to a numerical advantage of 17 to 1 and their planning. They say:
There is no amount of armor you can put on a ship to make it invulnerable. Groups like ours will always find more people. It will just take us longer.
Contrary to initial assumptions, Lactose Intolerant did not fly with an autopilot, but the choice of ship was definitely a mistake.
The loss might be a reason why he continues
What does the victim say? Lactose Intolerant admits to PCGamer that he made a mistake. He only wanted to sell the blueprints and pass the proceeds on to his corporation.
He was burnt out from EVE and wanted to turn to a new game. He takes the whole situation with humor:
I would have preferred to liquidate the BPOs in a different way, but just look at all the ISK [in-game currency] I’ve saved on transaction fees.
Losing ships and cargo in EVE is very punishing
What will happen to him next? While EVE Online offers grief counseling for newcomers, Lactose Intolerant will probably not receive this. Because the player is an experienced trader, and his reputation in the game is especially important to him. And that reputation has now suffered, as the victim of the attack has been harshly mocked in recent days.
The player initially wanted to quit the MMO, but does not want to give his attackers the satisfaction:
I have to admit that I had trouble sleeping in the next two nights [after the attack]. I want to keep playing and not give my attacker the satisfaction of driving me away.
It’s just that the reactions I’ve received are hard to bear, and I hope they wear off soon.
With the reactions, he refers to mockery and derision in the forums and on Reddit. Many other players express themselves condescendingly about Lactose Intolerant.
But usually, such a story doesn’t last long because in EVE another news soon causes unrest:
The PvP league of Pokémon GO has officially launched into the first Season. Numerous bugs have spoiled the fun for many trainers so far. In an interview, Niantic revealed how they are addressing this.
This was the interview: We from MeinMMO had the opportunity to speak with Matt Slemon before the start of the PvP league. He is the Lead Product Manager at Niantic and provided us with numerous insights into the development of the feature.
Part of our questions also related to the bugs that occurred in the league’s demo. He revealed that they are indeed working on them and have already made significant progress.
Bugs are known – Update has already fixed a lot
Here’s what he says about the problems: Slemon addresses the current quality of the league. He says: “We are aware of players coming from all corners of the world, all with different network connections. But we also know that the quality in the PvP league is good; otherwise, we wouldn’t have launched the first Season.”
This often refers to the poor connection in battles. However, Slemon and Niantic do not see this as a major problem. If it were indeed that big, they would have extended the testing phase.
According to Slemon, the Super League around Panzaeron and Altaria was the most popular league.
Slemon also talks about the ongoing problems:
But we have also found that some players are still complaining about issues, and we are looking into that more closely. (…) We have a new update that was released a few days ago, which has resolved some of these issues. However, we know that this is not the solution for everyone, and we will continue to monitor it.
Matt Slemon
So are the bugs already history? There is still much to be done for Niantic. Matt Slemon emphasized this work in our interview. Nevertheless, some improvements have already been made with the past update.
However, it remains to be seen if Niantic will work on this further and what systems they might fundamentally improve.
Here there should be help for players: Slemon also talks about tools that are to be introduced in Pokémon GO in the future. These are intended to help trainers when choosing Pokémon so that they know which monsters are good or bad.
Slemon believes that they are looking into ways to give trainers more insight. They want trainers to understand why they may have lost. Slemon referred to this as the “Lose and Learn” strategy.
What’s next for the PvP league? The PvP league has just started. In our interview, Slemon also talked about the future of the league. To help you through the battles, we link some useful guides here:
Our author Patrick Freese is not lacking motivation for Season 20 in Diablo 3. He has the clear goal of getting this bat pet
What is happening in Diablo 3? On Friday, March 13th, Diablo 3 launched into its new Season 20. For those participating, it starts fresh and without aids at level 1. This is the program that D3 has been offering for years now. No one is expecting new addons anymore. Every few months, a new season starts, along with some balance changes, and that’s it. The last major new content was the Necromancer DLC in 2017.
Lack of new content has often been the reason why my motivation waned in the seasons. I am the typical player who intensively plays a new season for a week, spends some evenings in Greater Nephalem Rifts during the second week, and then gradually drifts away from the game.
But sometimes, the urge to slay monsters grabs me – and now in Season 20, a bat is to blame.
What kind of bat is this?
This is how it looks: A skull belt with fangs, a rag of linen draped over its head, and huge wings. This is not the description of my deadly barbarian, but that of the new bat companion.
This cool pet and a portrait frame are the main goals of Season 20 in Diablo 3.
Whoever successfully completes the entire seasonal journey in Season 20 can claim this cool companion. And I will be among those players!
Because let’s be honest: Some companions in Diablo 3 are really lame. The two horses, Unihorn and Piers Dream look particularly similar, just like the two floating skulls. The Korcalf has to be unlocked, but it doesn’t look that cool either.
A small selection of companions in Diablo 3 – It was time for something new
So a new pet like the bat comes just right. Visually, this cool bat pet absolutely appeals to me.
This is my plan
In the coming days and weeks, I will focus on completing the seasonal journey. Finally, I have a goal in Diablo 3 that keeps me engaged during a season. In S19 it was still the cool seasonal theme, that pushed me into the highest Greater Rifts.
This time it’s a cool pet.
Will you join me? Then you are well prepared with our guides.
There is currently a new special card of Jerome Boateng in FIFA 20, which is really something. If you are playing a Bundesliga team, you must definitely get this card.
After months of having a significant shortage of strong center-backs for the Bundesliga, a new, strong CB card is being released almost weekly in FUT 20. However, the new Boateng card is particularly strong.
Which card is it? It is the new Flashback card of Jérôme Boateng. This card is extremely strong and should enhance any Bundesliga or hybrid team with its outstanding attributes.
The card has been available in the game for a few days and can be unlocked via Squad Building Challenge.
This is how strong the new Boateng card is
This is what the card can do: Such a strong center-back card has not been available in FUT 20 for the Bundesliga yet. It has really good attributes and shines especially with strong stats in the areas of Speed (83), Defense (91), and Physicality (92). Additionally, Boateng is 1.92 m tall, which is also a significant advantage.
When comparing the new card with his standard Gold card, the jumps are particularly visible. Especially in these areas:
Speed: 66 ⇾ 83
Dribbling: 66 ⇾ 85
Defense: 84 ⇾ 91
Physicality: 82 ⇾ 92
This is how the card gets even better: If you use the chemistry style “Shadow”, the Flashback card improves significantly. You boost his speed to 94 and his defense to nearly maximum 98. With that, you have a defender at endgame level, capable of preventing many goals.
Here you can see the improved stats with Shadow in detail:
That’s why you should get the card: Even if you already have good Bundesliga defenders, you should consider acquiring the new Boateng card. Because it is, for example, significantly better than the recently released Shapeshifter-Zakaria (87) or Shapeshifter Alaba (88). It also significantly outperforms Flashback-Hummels (91) in terms of speed and defensive attributes.
Moreover, Flashback-Boateng can even compete with absolute top defenders in FUT 20. Boateng outperforms the strong Inform card of Van Dijk (approx. 600,000 coins) in several areas:
This is how you get the card
This is what you need to do: To include the Flashback card in your team, you need to complete two SBC tasks. The special thing about this SBC: You have as much time as you want. The challenge has no expiration date.
However, the card is still not cheap. On the PS4, you currently need around 330,000 coins. However, if you have strong untradeable cards in your club, you can make the SBC a bit cheaper.
Here are solution suggestions that can be completed without loyalty and position changes:
Just in time for the return of the Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2, we chatted a bit with Bungie in an interview about the most popular PvP mode in the series. Did they anticipate the success of the mode in part 1? What do the developers consider the most iconic feature of the Trials? Will the Trials evolve or remain a fixed format?
This is what many have been waiting for: On March 13, 2020, it was finally time. After a long absence, PvP in Destiny 2 now has a proper top activity with Season 10 – the Trials of Osiris are back.
For many PvP fans, this is the most popular Crucible mode of all Destiny. What the PvE elite are to the Raids, the Trials embody for PvP experts.
What’s the deal with the interview? Just before the start of the Trials, we had the opportunity to talk with Bungie developers in an interview about the development and history of the Trials.
As interview partners, Lars Bakken, the Creative Lead of Season 10, and Rob Adams, Associate Art Director at Bungie, offered themselves to discuss the Trials mythology. We have summarized the most interesting questions and answers for you below.
By the way, before you ask why we didn’t ask anything about X or why topic Y was completely left out: Please note that only questions about certain topics were allowed during the interview.
Bungie in Interview about the Mythology “Trials of Osiris”
Although there were no secret details about the popular mode during this cozy chat, nor tips about the meta or anything similar, we did get some interesting insights into the developers’ perspectives.
Question: When the Trials debuted in Destiny 1 – did you already think that a purely weekend PvP mode would basically develop into one of the most popular activities in the game?
Answer: Lars Bakken took over the response. As he explained, Bungie considered the Trials to be really cool and engaging internally even back then. However, something like that can never be predicted.
So, it was all the more pleasant to be surprised when they realized that players loved this mode and that it had basically become a kind of ritual for their weekend activity. The fact that they had created something like this with the Trials felt cool, according to the Creative Lead.
Question:The Trials of the Nine from Destiny 2 never achieved the popularity of the Trials from Destiny 1. What do you think was the most important thing that the Trials of the Nine lacked?
Answer: Rob Adams first responded here. The developers would try to improve the game with each new release. They wanted to experiment with a lot of new things in Destiny 2 back then.
However, while working on the new, current Trials, they reflected on what players liked most about the Trials throughout their entire lifespan. They focused on this for the redesign of the Trials in Destiny 2.
Then Lars Bakken spoke again and emphasized that the new Trials were a good opportunity for Bungie to reflect and really understand what fascinated players about the Trials in Destiny 1. They took that as a foundation and mixed it with some changes intended to provide more “Quality of Life” to the established format.
Question:From a lore perspective, how did the Trials of the Nine become the Trials of Osiris? Is there a connection?
Answer: Lars Bakken continued right away. A lot is already explained when you log in for the first time in Season 10 and talk to Saint-14 in the Tower.
It becomes clear there why it’s important to bring back the Osiris rules and why Guardians need to train and prepare for the upcoming war.
Osiris will provide the weapons and armor, and Saint-14 will basically take over the training regimen. He finds it remarkable what Osiris has accomplished with his Trials during the time when Saint was not around.
Question:What is the most iconic feature or aspect of the returned Trials of Osiris?
Answer: Here too, Lars Bakken continued straight away. To him, the most iconic thing about the Trials is the ticket, that is, the Trials Pass. Much revolves around this ticket.
It is initially important to understand what kind of ticket you are getting, for which of the special features you are choosing. Then there’s the excitement of how far you can get with the ticket, a kind of rollercoaster of emotions.
I have my team here – how far can I go? Can I make it all the way to the end? To the Lighthouse? Will I get 7 wins without losses on the ticker? The excitement of a win versus the agony of a loss – and that with every ticket. That is pretty cool and that is what makes the Trials, for him, the Trials.
Rob Adams could only nod in agreement. He said he couldn’t really add anything to Bakken’s explanation.
Question:Will the returned Trials remain a fixed format – as in Destiny 1? Or will they evolve over time to better integrate into the changing world of Destiny 2? Will there be new modes aside from elimination? Will there be further formats? For example, 2vs2?
Answer: Lars Bakken believes it is still too early to assess how or why the Trials could change. Currently, it is only important that they come back in a way that players have loved in the past, with some “Quality of Life” improvements. And then they will see.
He thinks Bungie has already proven with Destiny 2 that they are willing to change, update, and experiment. “If the Trials ever need to take a new direction, we will look into it. That will be a shared journey with our player base.”
Rob Adams then added that for Bungie, it was important to not only bring back the mode when the Trials return but also to support it in the long run. They are determined to continue working on the Trials and respond to player feedback. They are not just bringing back the mode and leaving it at that, but will also support it in the future.
Question: Lars, in the ViDoc, you said basically that the Trials are the Raids of PvP. Could you elaborate on that a bit?
Answer: In Bakken’s eyes, the Trials can be compared quite well to the Raids. There are so-called ritual core activities in the game, like Crucible, Strikes, Gambit, Open World. And then there are the high-end activities in PvE, such as Nightfall: The Ordeal and Raids.
While the Iron Banner provides top rewards in PvP, it does not pose a real challenge that requires players to excel in every area of Destiny 2 (for example, chasing higher power, deep understanding of the current meta) and ultimately culminates in a “player versus player” experience. And that is what the Trials now offer.
“So we see the Trials on the same level as Raids. They are things for people who really dive deep into Destiny 2 – not just for PvP players. It is for players who understand Destiny 2 as a whole and want an endgame goal in the Crucible as well.”
Rob Adams added that when viewing the activities as a kind of pyramid, Bungie sees the Raids as the pinnacle of the PvE activities pyramid and the Trials as the peak of the PvP pyramid.
Question: Do you have any community stories or insider stories about the Trials to conclude? Something from the development of the Trials that stands out particularly for you, that you will never forget? Something you still remember fondly today?
Answer: After some jokes, laughs, and back-and-forth on the question, Rob Adams first took the floor here and recalled something related to the “new” Trials. He mentioned the three classic PvP maps from Destiny 1 that returned for the Trials of Osiris in Season 10 – Exodus Blue, Cauldron, and Anomaly.
So the developers had long deliberated which fan favorites to bring back. After all, there were many maps to choose from. They looked at which competitive maps they had designed for Destiny that were the best. They had prepared a corresponding list.
Then they not only looked at data and player feedback but also conducted an internal survey in the studio. Many developers and staff actively played Trials themselves.
The cool thing was that when this internal survey was evaluated, it basically matched the maps on the list and the cards that were the most popular in the community. Thus, they felt strongly validated in their choice of maps.
Then Lars Bakken took the floor one last time and talked about his most memorable moment as a developer related to the Trials. For him, it was the moment when he watched the first teams reach the Lighthouse in Destiny 1 for the first time. The reactions of the players who landed there on the first Trials day and saw the intro where their Guardian first glimpsed the flaming Mercury – that was a very special moment for him.
What also sticks in his memory is the fact that the community came together during the Trials. Many content creators on Twitch and other platforms helped Guardians reach the Lighthouse, who would otherwise never have made it there on their own – week after week. This willingness to help was really cool in Bakken’s eyes and inspired him a lot.
What makes the Trials special for you? What was your most memorable moment regarding the Trials? And what do you think of the returned Trials so far?
Researchers studied a virtual plague in the MMORPG World of Warcraft 13 years ago. They say the insights from back then help them better understand the current coronavirus. Epidemics have a social aspect.
What was that plague in WoW? In 2005, there was a special end boss in the WoW raid Zul’Gurub: Hakkar. He could inflict players with a blood plague that spread to other players and decimated them. This was a boss mechanic that was meant to work only within that raid: a kind of “countdown.”
The end boss back then, Hakkar.
But players could carry this plague out of the raid into the open world. There they infected others with the plague, the newly infected spread the blood plague further, and characters died from it. Especially in major cities like Orgrimmar, tens of thousands of players were affected by the plague.
Researchers wrote about WoW plague in 2007
These parallels were already noted in 2007: This virtual epidemic in World of Warcraft became a subject of research in the following years. In 2007, researchers Nina Fefferman and Eric Lofgren wrote an article about what scientific insights can be drawn from the WoW plague.
The researchers observed at the time that the plague spread rapidly in densely populated metropolises and caused high mortality. But especially the “social chaos” was significant.
In 2007, a parallel to “real-world pandemics” was already seen in the course of the WoW plague:
The virus started in a small area of relatively low interest
It then became an uncontrolled plague that affected millions of Americans, Asians, and Europeans at home
It looked somewhat like this in WoW back when the plague raged.
The researchers examined how players behaved:
There were “helpers” who wanted to heal plague victims, got infected with the blood plague themselves, and passed the virus on
“Griefers” would intentionally infect themselves to deliberately spread the plague
The researchers stated at the time that the event was “unexpected,” a “black swan.”
Lofgren compared the virus at the time to influenza and stated that on many servers, the infections were so severe that the major cities had to be abandoned. Trade came to a standstill. Entire cities were essentially uninhabitable.
There are also griefers in the real world
This is what the researchers are saying today: PC Gamer interviewed the two authors of the paper from back then, Dr. Nina Fefferman and Dr. Eric Lofgren, about what parallels they see to the current virus Covid-19, the coronavirus.
Lofgren stated that the WoW virus helped him understand how people behave in a medical crisis. It’s important how people interact with one another. Whether they adhere to government regulations or not. All these things are chaotic. One cannot assume that everyone simply accepts being in quarantine.
At that time it was criticized: The comparison of the plague in WoW to a normal virus was flawed because there are no “griefers” in the real world who deliberately catch the virus. But people who act recklessly and do not protect themselves are quite close to being griefers, says Lofgren.
People start to say: “Oh, it’s not a big deal for me. I won’t change my behavior. I’ll go to the concert and visit my elderly grandmother anyway.”
Maybe don’t do that. That’s the important insight. Epidemics are a social system. Downplaying the seriousness of something is a form of real-world griefing.
Dr. Eric Lofgren
Dr. Nina Feffermann, the co-author of the study on Corrupted Blood, also says that the work back then helps her now understand the social side of an epidemic. She has worked hard since then to develop models that represent risk perception. In this, her work on the plague in WoW has helped her.
Fefferman believes her work is now easier because she invested time back then in following the discussions of WoW players about the blood plague and examining how they reacted in real-time to these discussions.
The way players talked about the plague in WoW back then does not reflect now: The same way is now how Covid-19 is being discussed on social media.
Our colleague Maurice Weber from GameStar believes that Lost Ark has real potential. However, it makes a big mistake.
What is it about? Maurice Weber, our esteemed colleague from GameStar, has tested the isometric MMORPG Lost Ark on the Russian servers and summarized his experience with the game in a detailed video.
He finds that Lost Ark is fun to play and can easily compete with large action RPGs like Diablo. However, he also believes that the developer Smilegate is making a big mistake with the cash shop and the boost items offered in it.
You can watch the video to see what exactly bothers Maurice about the shop:

However, the hype around Wolcen was overshadowed by many bugs and balancing issues. The Steam rating dropped from 93% to 56%.
In the weeks since the game’s launch, many critical bugs and exploits have already been fixed, and updates with balance changes have been released. These include:
In the official bug report forum (link leads to the Wolcen forums) of Wolcen, new reports are still coming in regularly. According to the developer Wolcen Studio, this should change in the coming weeks and months.
In a post on Steam, the developers spoke up and listed measures that should improve the player experience of Wolcen in the future.
They emphasized that initially the top priority was to release new content, such as the first league and the next chapter of the action RPG.
This has now changed. Due to the many bugs and balance issues, they want to first improve the community’s gameplay experience before the new content is released.
This is supposed to be achieved with the update “Operation: Second Dawn”, with which the developers want to create a second ascent of Wolcen.
Operation Second Dawn aims to enhance the quality of Wolcen
What is “Operation: Second Dawn”? It encompasses a series of measures to improve various areas of Wolcen. These include:
Improved testing: To make testing of new patches more effective, the developer has enlisted an external QA team for help. This is intended to allow problems to be detected and fixed faster before they go live with patches.
Balancing: The focus of the balance patches will be on abilities that are currently underused. Therefore, there will be few nerfs. However, the team will continue to intervene immediately if severe balance issues arise.
Server issues: The team is currently looking for additional ways to improve server capacity and efficiency. It is a top priority for both the singleplayer and multiplayer modes.
Improvements to the story: Chapter 3 of Wolcen is set to undergo several revisions. These include new enemies and enemy types to bring more variety to the chapter.
“Quality of Life” improvements: This includes a whole range of different gameplay elements that are not pleasant to operate in the game. Examples mentioned include: the key mapping for the left mouse click, notification windows that pop up in the middle of the screen, and many others.
The developer has not provided a specific date for the improvements. However, they are expected to be rolled out “within the next 4 months”. The first patch 1.0.10 will be released next week and will implement some points from the list.
This is what will change in support: The team also apologized for the lack of communication with the players. They explained that communication during the alpha and beta phases was handled by one person.
Since the community of Wolcen has grown significantly in recent weeks, the support team will also be expanded. The team assured that they will continue to read the feedback and respond whenever possible.
Chapter 3 of Wolcen was criticized for a lack of variety in enemies
The time after “Operation: Second Dawn”
At the end of the statement, the team emphasized that Wolcen will receive new free content over the years. The next patch that will bring new content will be 1.1.0 and will introduce the first league of Wolcen.
It will include gameplay mechanics typical for such leagues:
Players will need to create a new character for the league.
This character will be separate from the characters created before patch 1.1.0.
With the release of patch 1.2.0 and thus the next league, the 1.1.0 character will then be added to the “standard version” of the game. And so on.
Additionally, further chapters are planned. However, the developer warns that the chapters take much longer to develop than the rest of the content. Therefore, they will come later than the leagues.
What do you think of Wolcen’s plans? Is it good that the team focuses on bug fixing or should they pump out new content instead? Let us know in the comments!
While you wait for the updates and improvements, you can take a look at our Wolcen guides:
In the new battle royale of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, “Warzone”, you have to give it your all to survive as the last one standing. It can help if you land in the right spot for a stronger start. We reveal the best spots.
Why is it important where I land? You start in Warzone with nothing but a pistol and need to find or buy the rest of the loot. However, you won’t find good weapons and equipment everywhere.
Therefore, it is important to assess where a landing is worthwhile and where you are likely to waste time.
We show you five landing spots where you are guaranteed to find something or have a strong start to gain an advantage over others. For an overview, we have marked all spots on the battle royale map Verdansk:
For each spot, we briefly indicate where exactly it is located, how dangerous a landing there is, what you find there, what it is suitable for, and what disadvantages it has.
1. Train Station
Where is the spot?? A bit southwest of the center.
Difficulty: Medium. Several trio teams will likely land here and try to grab the good loot.
What do I find there? At the Train Station, there are many large buildings. In the buildings, you often find good equipment and boxes with even better loot. Additionally, there are two shops nearby where you can buy killstreaks or loadouts and numerous contracts that you can take on.
Tips: Due to the many buildings and corners, a house fight will likely take place here when a fight happens. Therefore, we recommend:
Submachine guns
Shotguns
possibly assault rifles
Pro
centrally located
high probability of being within the ring
many houses, thus good cover and chance for loot
Contra
few vehicles, poor connectivity
relatively spacious, so planning must start before jumping
2. Downtown and Stadium
Where is the spot? A bit southeast of the center.
Difficulty: Hard. Relatively many players will likely land here.
What do I find there? Similar to the Train Station, there are a lot of buildings where you can find loot and boxes. However, these are a bit more compactly centered and divided into several groups, so you might be able to gear up faster and more undisturbed than opponents with a bit of luck. You will also find shops and contracts in immediate proximity.
Tips: You have direct access from Downtown to other spots like Stadium (where there are even more shops) as well as a spacious surrounding area. This results in more strong options for weapons. We recommend:
Submachine guns for close combat
Assault rifles, DMRs, or sniper rifles for outside
Pro
exactly in the center
compact distribution of buildings and loot
extremely many contracts
Contra
extremely popular, likely many players there
chaotic
3. Prison
Where is the spot? Completely in the southeast of the map.
Difficulty: Easy to medium. The prison is quite remote and offers too little loot for multiple teams, so there can be an early, hard fight if several teams land there.
What do I find there? The prison in the southeast is a spacious area with hardly any buildings to loot. The loot is instead sparsely distributed but rather rare. However, there are plenty of vehicles to help you move faster. Vehicles can sometimes be more important than the right weapons.
Tips: If you land alone here, you have the opportunity to gear up undisturbed and then have free choice for the next area thanks to the vehicles. Prison is particularly suited for solo and duo players. Due to the lack of cover, we recommend during a fight here
Sniper rifles and DMRs
Assault rifles
Pro
many vehicles, providing high mobility
not very popular, high chance of loot for the team
great visibility, thus strong for snipers
Contra
remote
generally less loot
little cover
4. Military Base
Where is the spot? Central in the north.
Difficulty: Easy to medium. The point is somewhat remote but has many important areas and additional zones worth visiting. It is quite popular.
What do I find there? In the military base, you will find many smaller and some larger buildings, where there can be really strong loot. Also, there is guaranteed to be a helicopter, which can help your team move quickly or escape.
Tips: There is a lot of cover directly in the military base, but from outside, it can be easily sniped. Watch out for your position and keep an eye open. All weapon classes have their own advantage here, making looting easier at the beginning.
Difficulty: Medium to hard. Very central, but spacious enough to spread out. Very popular.
What do I find there? The airport is a potpourri of everything Warzone has to offer. You will find large and small buildings with loot, tight spots and open spaces, vehicles, shops, and plenty of contracts.
Tips: The airport is probably one of the most popular or even the most popular spot in Warzone. If you land there as a beginner, do not expect to survive long. However, it helps to look around there and get familiar with the mode.
As a veteran, you should have good confidence in your own performance and that of the team when landing here. Depending on what weapons you find, you should adjust your strategies accordingly.
Pro
many houses, lots of loot
centrally located
extremely many contracts, shops, and vehicles
Contra
very tough for beginners
high likelihood of being pressured by multiple teams
New World, Amazon’s new MMO, has changed significantly in recent months. Therefore, the Game Director has commented on the current situation and the vision of the game. PvE and PvP players are not supposed to play alongside each other, but to support each other.
In it, he reports about the first players who have reached the maximum level 60 in the Alpha, and about new features that were introduced during the one-month test.
He also addresses the general philosophy of the MMO. Many players are currently unsure where the focus of New World lies and how everything fits together in the end. Lane describes the vision of the game as follows:
Our vision is to create a world where the playstyles of PvP and PvE players not only coexist but also complement each other.
We know this can be a difficult balance, but we will revise our game design until we achieve it.
Fights for fortresses are the focus. There is a PvP mode, but also a PvE version
What kind of MMO is New World? Originally, New World was supposed to be a PvP game with survival elements and full loot. This has since changed.
We want players to have quests as an option for leveling and exploration, but they should not be forced to complete them.
We are not trying to build a theme park MMO.
But what do the elements of the game look like? And how should PvE and PvP players collaborate?
PvE missions support PvP players and vice versa
How do the player types benefit from each other? In the letter to the community, the Game Director states that the main goal is for both player types, PvE and PvP, to benefit from each other. This is supposed to work in several ways:
Both player types benefit equally from systems like crafting.
Through additional rewards while the opt-in PvP is active, and through NPC battles for the fortresses, PvE players are to be gently introduced to PvP.
New World relies on settlements that PvE players support their faction
Conclusion on the current Alpha of New World
What has already happened in the Alpha of New World? Scot Lane reports that the current Alpha has been running for just over a month and that the first changes for PvP players have already been introduced:
Influence Race – This involves factions needing to exert influence over an enemy territory before a war can be declared. New PvE and PvP missions are available for this.
Coin rewards for active PvP.
Improvements in scaling in PvP, with another update planned in that direction.
Many exploits have also been fixed, including capturing zones that should not have been conquered and an endless gold exploit.
How do players perform? The first players in New World have already reached the maximum level 60 in various ways:
The first player “Gilden” has reached level 60 and completed only 38 missions.
The second level 60, “Nuko Miko”, has completed over 700 missions.
This shows that there should be different ways in New World to have fun and achieve goals. And there are various ways to do so in New World:
The Trials of Osiris are finally back in Destiny 2. Our author Philipp Hansen has made his way towards the Lighthouse. On his PvP journey, he has laughed, cried, and swore.
The Trials and I: I have been passing the time in the Crucible since Destiny 1. A special PvP event has always been the Trials of Osiris, simply called Trials. In these ruthless duels, there is a unique dynamic.
Here it applies: One death and you’re out. While your two teammates can revive you, the opposing team tries to prevent that at all costs. You can feel the thrill before every fight, your heart races, and after a won duel, you reward yourself with a decent dose of happiness hormones.
Even though I’m quite rusty now, I’m looking forward to the return of the Trials. Last night, on March 13th, it finally happened.
Here’s how to start the journey: You can’t go into the Trials alone; it’s 3 vs. 3. So, quickly message two friends: “Trials, all night Trials?” and luckily the Guardians have time for me. But even if you don’t have friends on hand, thanks to official support, you can quickly find a team.
A short visit to Saint-14 is still on the agenda. The friendly Titan is now the “organizer” of the Trials of Osiris and equips us with loot runs and trial tickets.
Each ticket grants a different advantage and must be filled with seven victories. I can afford up to three defeats, then I need a new ticket. I choose the ticket “Pass of Grace,” because that way the first defeat doesn’t count. I’m being honest with myself: for the first rounds, I need every second chance I can get.
In good spirits, but also well prepared?
This is how the first match goes: Saint-14 provides the first laugh even before the start of the round. He ‘promises’ himself and bellows hoarsely “Welcome to the Trials of the 14th Saint … uh, Osiris”. The Titan with the sweet voice does his job as an announcer excellently and could outdo Lord Shaxx.
We are curious about which PvP map the competitions will take place on this weekend. The game will be played on the map “Burnout”. With this, Bungie made the only right choice:
Burnout is THE Trials map. My veteran heart immediately beats faster. Under the name “Burning Shrine,” this map was the very first where the Trials actually took place.
Even without nostalgia factor, the map is ideal for the PvP mode. There are narrow corridors for shotgun slides, long sightlines for snipers, and the map changes its layout during the match to keep the players on their toes.
The classic Burnout never gets boring
To our surprise, we even win our first match. The first opponent gets a sniper shot to the helmet with precision. Then we charge like a coordinated storm at the helpless Guardians. It goes exactly as in the textbook.
It feels like nothing can stop us; is the Lighthouse really within reach? Euphorically, we look forward to the future and the second match.
Learning to lose: Did I give the impression that we were almost at the Lighthouse? Not at all, and unfortunately our hope takes a few abrupt blows.
Throughout the evening, I have to learn a lesson, and that is: being able to take a hit.
Sometimes I’m overwhelmed with my measly power level of 980 by the presumably strongest Guardians this side of the Dreaming City.
Every now and then, you encounter famous streamers who quickly show you where to get off.
Some opponents seem to land headshots from a pirouette jump with their eyes closed.
But we remind ourselves of the first lesson of the Trials and keep our spirits up – okay, we try. In the meantime, we quickly blame the evil “cheater” or “lagger”. But here I can happily report that the connection quality is consistently very good, all evening long.
Am I having fun? Yes! Time flies by; either someone has moved the clock forward or it’s really already midnight. It’s always: “Come on, one more ticket”. The new system is very accommodating. Simply restart the passage in the quest tab without having to return to the Tower saves time. Time that you can spend in the Trials.
In the end, it’s not enough for the Lighthouse. When I finally detach myself from Destiny 2, my ticket shows five hard-fought victories. And there it is, the carrot in front of my nose, the driving force, the feeling of wanting more.
Victories simply count much more when the defeats almost crush you. You want to pick yourself up and fight back. If Bungie keeps the Trials fresh and rewarding, I will gladly return weekend after weekend. Trying to get better, and I want to adorn my Warlock with the Anubis helm someday.
One day the Osiris gear will belong to me
This was an excerpt from my experiences. Have you also ventured into the Trials of Osiris? What have you experienced?
In Pokémon GO there are further measures to combat the coronavirus. After facilitating playing from home, there are now fewer incentives to go outside.
What measures have been taken? Two new changes now affect Pokémon GO trainers. Future EX Raids have been banned. You will no longer receive invitations to such events.
Additionally, you no longer have to walk kilometers to participate in battles in the new PvP league.
Fewer incentives to go outside
Why is the ban on EX Raids? These special raids are a major gathering place for communities. It is only logical to want to avoid such gatherings.
However, regular raids are still available. Up to 20 players can battle together at the same time. It remains to be seen whether Niantic will cancel the raid hour this coming Wednesday. After all, many trainers often gather there at once.
EX Raids will not be taking place in Pokémon GO for now
Could there be problems? Pokémon GO has already announced Genesect as a new EX Raid boss. This will be available starting in April and will first be obtainable through a special research. It remains to be seen whether Niantic will be able to stick to this schedule. After all, it seems that the virus will still be a major issue in early April, as various federal states have canceled large events until Easter.
Is the PvP league worth more now? Until now, you had to at least go outside for a part of your PvP battles and collect kilometers. That is no longer the case. You can now complete up to 35 battles without having walked a single kilometer.
Currently, you can obtain Giratina from the PvP league. Additionally, the first season started last night and reset your statistics to zero again. If you are staying at home anyway, you can also start working on that and hopefully encounter a Shiny Giratina.
How long will this change last? The PvP league is now accessible for the next 30 days without required kilometers. What happens after that remains to be seen.
If you have no interest in online battling, you can still battle against your friends. Check out our Facebook group for plenty of new friends.
What other measures are there? Previously, Niantic had significantly facilitated playing from home worldwide. For example, the item incense now lasts for one hour and you get 30 of them for just one PokéCoin.
What is the state of the gaming world during the coronavirus crisis? Not only Pokémon GO is reacting to the coronavirus. Worldwide, there are news about various games that are suddenly particularly successful or even being given away:
However, some players want to change the language of the shooter. They post on Reddit and other social platforms to seek advice. The problem often is that the displayed language in the properties on Steam shows “English,” but the game does not run in English.
In this guide, we will show you how to change the language of Borderlands 3 on Steam.
Playing Borderlands 3 in English on Steam – Change Language
We will show you the most common method to change the language of BL 3 in Steam. This is beneficial if you want to use a different language than the default set by Steam. German players are usually given German as default but can use this change to play in English, French, Russian, and other languages as well.
Here’s how:
Open your Steam library
Right-click on Borderlands 3
Select “Properties”
Now select “Set Launch Options”
Choose a language from the table that you want to use
Enter “-culture=XX” in the window [replace XX with the corresponding letters you find in the table. No spaces]
Players suspect they are currently deciphering a huge Easter egg in Call of Duty: Warzone. What’s the deal with the bunkers and phones?
What kind of puzzle is this? In new shooters, it has almost become the norm to hide Easter eggs or secret interactions. The battle royale mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Warzone, is likely no exception.
Mysterious bunkers are now causing players to rack their brains. What do the developers mean by this? How do you crack the code?
On Reddit, the bunkers occupy many players – What could they mean? Source: Reddit
On the huge Verdansk map, up to 150 players can fit. Familiar locations from Modern Warfare can be found there, but also entirely new areas. Players find mysterious bunkers scattered across the map, equipped with a keypad for input.
Players investigate the Easter egg in Warzone
What has been found? On Reddit, players post their findings to collaborate on a solution. So far, bunkers with input fields, phones, and laptops have been found.
YouTuber Drift0r demonstrates in one of his videos how such a bunker is constructed. He lands east of the stadium, enters the bunker construction, and initially finds nothing unusual on the first level. In the basement, he then discovers the large locked door.
Mobile Users: Start the video at about 7 minutes to go directly to the Easter egg.

Drift0r explains in the video that there are three more of these input fields located across the map. Also, there are phones that can be picked up and a computer in the Atlas Superstore.
In the official map guide of Call of Duty: Warzone, you can get precise information about the various Points of Interest on the map. Here, players also recognized hints at a puzzle. The bunkers are referred to as “Classified” and the description text is cryptic.
Φ/Λ: [[REDACTED]]. [[REDACTED]] from the adjacent [[REDACTED]] rocky foothills [[REDACTED]], ending in a [[REDACTED]]. If you’re able to [[REDACTED]], you can [[REDACTED]].
“Redacted” means edited/revised.
What could it mean? It could be that you have to activate the various objects you can interact with in a certain order. This is common practice with Easter eggs. In Battlefield 1, you had to open various valves simultaneously, to summon a giant shark. In Ghost Recon Wildlands, players searched for various clues, to eventually find the Yeti.
As Easter eggs in Call of Duty, players have already found
What the puzzle in Warzone is all about is still unclear. Maybe the solution hasn’t been activated in the game yet. It’s possible that powerful weapons are hidden behind the heavy doors, which will only be unlocked through an in-game event. What do you think?
It is quite possible that Italians will crack the puzzle first, as their gaming hours are skyrocketing due to the Corona virus.
