The Twitch streamer Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp is the most successful streamer for League of Legends, but is also known as an uncontrollable hothead who regularly has outbursts and flames wildly. As the legendary LoL team T1 now announces the separation, Tyler1 hastily assures: It was not because he poses such a high risk for any advertising partner.
This is Tyler1:
The 26-year-old American is by far the biggest streamer for League of Legends. He plays the role of a raging musclebound character in front of the camera, who believes he is 2 meters tall, even though he apparently stands below 1.70 meters.
Tyler1 is known for his fits of rage on camera. He likes to type in “All Caps” and reminds all teammates that they are far inferior to him and actually quite stupid. Due to his toxic nature, Tyler1 was banned from LoL for a long time; since a Riot employee wished him testicular cancer and was subsequently fired, Tyler1 is back in the game and can pretty much do anything.
In the last 14 months, Tyler1 had a partnership with T1, the huge LoL team from South Korea. Since the “marriage” of Faker from 2013 to 2016, when they became world champions three times, T1 is considered the “biggest team” in LoL – albeit these golden years are already quite a while ago.
T1 announced: On February 1st, T1 announced that Tyler1 is leaving the “T1” family. They thank him for the great time and wish him all the best.
https://twitter.com/T1/status/1488633257390444548
Fans speculated: Tyler1 had been fired
This was the rumor: Quickly, the idea arose among LoL fans that T1 had thrown Tyler1 out because they no longer wanted to take the risk of having such a walking time bomb in their ranks.
The term “brand-safe” means that someone is marketable and large brands can advertise with him without any scandals lurking around. A “brand-risk”, on the other hand, is someone that could be embarrassing or harmful for big brands to be associated with, because that person might do something offensive or damaging to their reputation.
T1 is, after all, a reputable team with numerous lucrative advertising deals, and Tyler1 is considered a walking “Brand-Risk”; the kind that can damage a brand single-handedly.
It is then said that T1’s wording of thanking for the shared time is just “corporate talk” meant to cover up the truth.
The people in the chat laughed:
“Tyler1 was fired on his day off”
Tyler1 was “canceled”
Looked like a dream couple: Tyler1 hugs T1 star Faker.
This is what Tyler1 says: But Tyler1 does not want to leave it like that. In a stream, he says:
So it’s officially… we are out at T1. It’s a sad day, guys, a sad day. It’s amicable. – There’s no specific reason.
“Doesn’t that sound like corporate talk?” No, I am not a brand risk! That’s really not it. I’m not a damn brand risk!

What’s behind it: The idea behind the deal was probably:
for T1 to establish itself more strongly in the US market as a South Korean team and build a relationship with the current LoL scene in the USA to sell more merchandise
for Tyler1 to gain even more “credibility” by having contact with the big names
But both sides probably realized that the effects of such a partnership weren’t that significant after all. Aside from occasional hugs with Faker when meeting at an event once a year, not much happened. The worlds of an explosive Twitch streamer in the US and a South Korean professional team seem just too far apart.
Therefore, it seems the deal has simply run its course.
Even without the deal, Tyler1 will likely not be starving; he is fully occupied with his “You have to play 200 hours of LoL per month” deal with Twitch:
MMORPGs do not go well with leisure planning, especially when you have a family like MeinMMO editor Jürgen Horn. You play differently and usually less intensely. But right now, The Elder Scrolls Online suits me very well, especially with the upcoming expansion High Isle, which has been heavily criticized.
Who is writing here? I have been a father to a little son since 2019 and since then I have had to adjust my gaming habits. Simply gaming through the nights is no longer possible, and complex games are less likely to be an option. Instead, games that offer a lot of fun in a short time are in demand. MMORPGs are generally no longer an option, but that’s not the case with ESO.
Because the upcoming chapter High Isle, which is currently criticized by many fans, will likely be a real hit for me. What many don’t like fits perfectly with my changed gaming situation.

Everything you need to know about The Elder Scrolls Online – in 2 minutes
3 reasons why High Isle will be great for ESO for people like me
But what hardcore ESO players do not like, suits me (and people in a similar situation) perfectly.
The setting and story bring a pleasant deceleration
The last three expansions brought a steady escalation. First, there were dragons in Elsweyr (in your homeland! Dragons!). Then, there was a gigantic vampiric conspiracy in Skyrim. And then the last chapter even literally sent us to “Hell,” where a corporeal Daedra prince wanted to take us down.
How could that be surpassed? By turning a Daedra prince into a vampire and binding him to a dragon? Hopefully not!
Or one could take a break from the gigantism and downshift a few gears. You don’t need a bombastic threat from super monsters to tell an exciting story. And that seems to be exactly what High Isle promises.
It’s time for ESO to become a bit more down-to-earth.
Because completely normal mortal villains are often much more tangible and multi-dimensional than immortal vampire lords, dragons, or even Daedra lords. Just think of nasty guys like King Geoffrey or Tywin Lannister from Game of Thrones. They were ordinary but powerful people who were very dangerous in their lust for power.
I am therefore really looking forward to a whimsical setting full of intrigues and noble feuds, just like I loved in Game of Thrones.
For me, it also has the advantage that the story can be enjoyed at a slower pace. The world is not in immediate danger, I do not have to complete all quests on the first day, and I can portion my gaming time ideally.
The new card game is perfect for taking a break
The news that there will be a cool card game as a “game within a game” made me very curious. Because I love mini-games! In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, I always take time for a round of Orlog and never miss a drinking contest.
And in The Witcher 3, Gwent was sometimes the main activity for me during a whole gaming evening. And just because I loved Gwent so much, I am really looking forward to the new card game “Tales of Glory” in High Isle.
I am extremely looking forward to the card game!
I totally loved the Elder Scrolls card game Legends until it was unfortunately shut down. But I can imagine that some elements will find new life in ESO.
I see myself already spending an entire evening without completing any quests or dailies. Instead, I’ll be hanging out in the tavern all night playing cards with shady Khajiit.
The game will be less complex and thus more beginner-friendly (again)
My last argument for High Isle is also one that many fans criticize about the new chapter. There will be achievements across the entire account, and there will be significant changes in the combat system.
So anyone who has invested time in numerous twinks and their achievements will kind of be at a loss. Because in the future, the achievements of all your account’s characters will be shared. However, what irritates and angers hardcore players suits me as a casual player extremely well. Because I only have 2 twinks, and they haven’t done much. Now, they will all benefit from all of my achievements.
Even better, I find that the combat system will be less complex. After weeks of absence, I always struggle to grasp the gameplay and the mechanics behind it to play my character optimally. But I do not want to spend my limited free time sifting through numerous stats and their effects. Otherwise, the gaming evening will be over before I’ve accomplished much.
With a simpler system that the developers promise, I will have more fun in my limited time. And that suits me very well.
But this is just my opinion as a player with little time. What do you think about it? Let me know in the comments!
Shortly after release, players already found some Easter eggs in Dying Light 2. Some of them are even really useful, like drivable vehicles. Unfortunately, at least for a few of them, there seems to be no way to obtain them honestly.
What vehicles are there? Dying Light 2 offers plenty of secrets, such as hidden safes with valuable loot or Easter eggs. New videos and clips from players moving through the city with vehicles pop up on Reddit and YouTube all the time. So far, 3 have been found:
What use do these vehicles have for me? At least with the bicycle, players are significantly faster than on foot. The two flying vehicles allow for a slower descent, similar to the parachute – but they consume stamina in the process.
The clips and videos excite fans. But they are now puzzling over how to obtain them. Most videos seem to use a trick, but all vehicles can apparently also be found honestly in the game.

Are the vehicles available legally in the game? For the hoverboard and the flying broom, you need to complete a few challenges and be good at parkour. The broom is a bit easier: complete the “Baba Yaga” challenge at the VNC Tower. However, you can only get there after reaching the Central Loop.
To get the hoverboard, you need to go to the Cathedral of St. Paul on Saint Paul Island. Climb the church and enter the bell tower. There, you need to complete a series of tasks:
get a cable from the bottom of the tower
power the box at the top
go through a window one level down
interact with the radio/device there
pick up the first piece of the hoverboard that is lying there
use the survival sense and follow the displayed red trail
the second part is on the bridge in the southeastern corner of Muddy Grounds
the third part is in a trunk in the southwestern corner of Muddy Grounds
The bicycle remains somewhat more mysterious. User Taki7o7 claims to know at least 2 locations in the game where bicycles can be found. In one video, he shows one leaning against a tree on a high-rise building. To get it, he apparently has to kill himself. Whether that is true, we cannot confirm.
How else can you get the vehicles? Since the vehicles are apparently made for challenges, they shouldn’t actually work in the open world. However, there is a trick here.
Dying Light 2 can be expanded through mods. Mods change certain game contents or bring new ones in. In this case, there is a mod that brings the developer menu into the game (via NexusMods).
Through the menu, you can activate cheats (like “back in the day”, no tools like from shooters), change decisions, or spawn items. This way, players have apparently discovered the vehicles and obtained them.
If you’re having trouble reaching the locations with the hidden vehicles, we have some tips for you:
Is this the beginning of a particularly thrilling and atmospheric film series in Destiny 2? Quite possible, as the fan project “Destiny: Solas” has taken Bungie’s New Light entry to a new level. The short film series is exceptionally well-received in the community and is even better than the original.
For those new to Destiny 2, your first mission awaits you on Earth in the Cosmodrome.
You are a “New Light” and have no idea who you are.
There you will initially experience disturbing encounters with aliens who are not friendly.
However, when you find a weapon, you can defend yourself against them.
Your Ghost is always by your side, guiding you on the right path.
The mission itself is quite unspectacular and quickly completed. But those who take 20 minutes to watch this short film from a passionate player project can lean back and experience the entry into the Destiny universe from a new perspective. And it’s brilliantly emotional.
A home, among friends
What makes the video so special? The video is a so-called “Immersiplay”, a unique mix of immersive role-playing, let’s plays, and scripted original Destiny gameplay. This means it blurs the boundaries between actual game content, as Destiny players typically play, and fabricated elements.
You feel like you’re watching an exciting series. Though one must say, not much has changed in the story itself. However, the events are better staged and more engaging.
Moreover, the series looks into the heart of Destiny 2. The new Guardian Vero Solas quickly finds friends on his mission who take him along and support him. Shortly thereafter, he is no longer alone but has found a community that accepts him as he is and welcomes him. But his adventure is just beginning.
Who is behind the project? The idea for this short film came from Destiny 2 player Gage Allen. He also works professionally in the creation of video game trailers and film sequences. He had the idea of making a real Destiny series for a long time.
I spent so much time tinkering and playing around with this idea to create a series that feels ridiculously cinematic and immersive. 6 years of experimenting, and I think Episode 1 here is a pretty good start. I have a weakness for Destiny, so it just felt right to take my love for this world and try to write something in it. I hope you enjoy it.
And what does the community say about it? Many players commented that they felt transported back to their early days by the video. They had almost forgotten what it’s like to find secrets around every corner, to explore the world while continuing to discover, and to make friends along the way.
This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. The story of this game is really cool and has never felt so accessible. Not only that, the direction, the framing, the voice acting… All the little things make a production feel as if we are all outstanding. I would pay for more of this.
The short film shows Destiny at its most beautiful
And Melissa finds the experience even better than the original from Bungie:
As someone who started playing Destiny for the first time last season, I would have given anything for a ghost like this to accompany me. I’ve learned more about the D2 lore/backstory from watching this one video than the game has ever given me. Beautifully produced!
Bungie has also taken notice of the brilliant production: The first episode of the series “Destiny: Solas” was declared by the community managers at Bungie the “Movie of the Week” in the official “This Week at Bungie” blog. A small accolade from the Destiny developers for enthusiastic fans.
The video seems to be a welcome change for some Guardians, especially after such a long season like this.
We are certainly looking forward to the second part. What about you? How do you feel about the fan project? Would you tune in to Episode 2 of the first “Destiny TV series” or would you rather play yourself and write your own story? Let us know.

The new MMORPG Lost Ark is just around the corner and it is also the only MMORPG you must play in 2022, at least according to MeinMMO author Mark Sellner. Because Lost Ark has something for everyone and values your time.
What is Lost Ark anyway? The new MMORPG, which celebrates its release on February 8 and 11, is actually not new at all. The game has been running successfully in Korea since 2018.
It is one of the most popular online games there and, even by a significant margin, the most popular MMORPG in Korea. The title was released in Russia in 2020 and there were also efforts to launch Lost Ark in Japan.
Now the game is finally coming to Europe and even in a version that does not lag far behind the Korean one in updates, unlike the Russian version.
Lost Ark is an action MMORPG in an isometric perspective. You move with mouse clicks and look down on the game world that your character traverses.
Your character can do this as one of 15 different classes at launch, slaughtering hordes of enemies, building your own island, recruiting NPCs, sailing the seas, fighting in PvP arenas, and so on.
Lost Ark has a lot of content and offers something for every MMORPG fan to invest their time in. The game employs various mechanics to be rewarding for both hardcore and casual players.

Systems that value your time: Many of you may initially think “Oh no, timegates!” – and in principle, you are right. Annoying time restrictions are not very popular in many MMORPGs and are often just a bridge to artificially extended content.
However, Lost Ark simply offers so much content that you can actually be grateful for the timegates, as they ensure that players with little time do not fall behind. Moreover, most of these gates act character-bound in Lost Ark.
Hardcore players can simply create a second character and still access and play more content, while those with little time each day can still keep up.
Additionally, timegates are a good indicator of how much time you should dedicate to various tasks each day or week. This may sound crazy at first, but believe me, a lot of content awaits you and especially as a new player, you can quickly lose track.
But it’s not just the time restrictions that ensure your time feels well invested. Also extremely short match times in PvP and the relatively short 20-minute duration for Guardian Raids is a point that the MMORPG does very well.
Here, the fun or challenge is not diminished; you can even enjoy this content more and they can be more challenging since you can act more focused within such a short duration than is often the case in many other games.

PvP, PvE, Housing, and Role-Play – Lost Ark offers you everything
Why only Lost Ark? MMORPGs consume a lot of time. Many of my friends even tell me that they don’t want to start Lost Ark at all because they have no time for a new MMORPG.
And to be fair, Lost Ark also likes to consume some hours of your time. But if you should sacrifice some of your valuable time for MMORPGs, then it should be for this one.
Many other titles in the genre focus particularly on one aspect of their game and leave others wanting. The all-in-one MMORPG is very rare and games that can really do everything are scarce. And when they do exist, they often require monthly fees, like genre pioneers World of Warcraft or the all-rounder Final Fantasy XIV.
But Lost Ark is exactly that, only free. The MMORPG offers you well-thought-out systems and plenty of fun in absolutely every aspect of a genre title, and especially if you have too little time for a new MMORPG, you should play Lost Ark. Then you really don’t need any other.
And even if you are still playing other MMORPGs, the timegates ensure that you can also play Lost Ark as an additional MMORPG by only focusing on a single task.
Who is writing here? Mark Sellner is an MMORPG author at MeinMMO. As a passionate fan, he has spent thousands of hours in over 100 different genre representatives. For him, Lost Ark is the great ray of hope on the horizon, which is why he eagerly absorbs all information about the game.
What is there to do?
What content can you expect? The vast majority of content in Lost Ark features timegates that help you keep track. However, what you can do is already revealed here.
Instanced content: Going into detail here would go beyond the scope of the article. This includes countless dungeons of various difficulty levels, a tower that you can ascend, raids with tough bosses, a mode where you must survive waves of enemies, and more.
One of the main focuses of the developers is on this content, and you can tell that in the game. So there is quite a lot for you to do.
Open world: The world of Lost Ark encompasses several continents that you can freely explore. This happens in divided areas that come together to form an open world. Here, the focus is on finding collectibles, defeating world bosses, and filling the adventure compendium.
Role Play: Lost Ark is a role-playing game at heart. Accordingly, you can also spend a lot of time optimizing your character. Collecting the right equipment and coming up with different skill builds that can be particularly strong in the right situations.
But even beyond that, Lost Ark offers a lot for true role-players. Because the NPCs in the game react to you. With many of them, you can even build a closer bond and invite them to your own island, which you can design and expand yourself.
This is what your own island could look like.
PvP: Lost Ark can shine in this aspect as well. Because besides the completely normalized arena PvP, which awaits you in various modes, there is even more to experience here.
Even if you are not a fan of climbing the rankings, the MMORPG has even more action in store. You can challenge your friends to free duels in the open world or play matches with your own rules in the arenas.
Guild vs. Guild battles as well as the PvP continent Rowen, which features open-world PvP and gigantic battles with 96 players, are not available at launch. However, these will be added later and expand the PvP repertoire.
Life Skills: Besides all the fighting, Lost Ark has even more up its sleeve, namely the life skills and relaxation moments of the game. You can fish, go treasure hunting, mine stones, and harvest herbs. Hunting wild animals is also part of the life skills.
It’s especially fun to do this together, as felling a tree with a friend goes much faster. Here, you do not compete for resources, but share them.
You can invite your newly made friends to your island, which can accommodate up to 50 people at the same time as a chill-out area.
If you want to play an MMORPG this year, it should be Lost Ark. It values your time and gives you all the means you need to be happy in an MMORPG.
What do you think about it? Will you play Lost Ark or do you think Mark is wrong and that the MMORPG is not worth your time? Feel free to let us know in the comments here at MeinMMO.
The 10 best Ice-type attackers in Pokémon GO are summarized in this guide. Why they are well suited for use in raids and what special features they have, you can read here on MeinMMO.
To be well prepared for the upcoming raids, we have summarized the 10 best Ice attackers below. They are particularly effective against the types Grass, Flying, Ground, and Dragon and should be used. The best attackers of all types can be found in our corresponding guide.
How did this ranking come about? Our overview of the best Ice attackers takes into account all monsters that can already be found in the game. In addition to legendary Pokémon, the following mainly lists monsters that you can catch in raids or in the wild or obtain by hatching eggs.
For each Pokémon, we show you the respective best moveset and explain why it is worth using in raids. However, Mega Evolutions and Shadow Pokémon have not been considered in our ranking. In the last two sections of this article, you can find the best Shadow Ice attackers and the best Mega attacker in separate overviews.
1. Galar-Flampivian
Galar-Flampivian normal (left) and shiny (right)
Best moveset: Ice Fang and Avalanche
Galar-Flampivian is the evolution of Galar-Flampion. The Pokémon comes from the 5th generation and is an Ice type. Galar-Flampivian can impress with a high attack and stamina value.
And also with its moveset consisting of Ice Fang and Avalanche, it has a fast attack combination. This secures it the first place in our ranking of the top Ice attackers.
Can you catch shiny Galar-Flampivian? Galar-Flampivian is already available in Pokémon GO but can only be evolved. To do this, you must first obtain a shiny Galar-Flampion. You can usually find this in eggs or catch it in raids or the wild during certain events.
2. Mamutel
Mamutel normal (left) and shiny (right)
Best moveset: Powder Snow and Avalanche
The Ice and Ground Pokémon Mamutel comes from the 4th generation and is the final evolution of Quiekel. Its attack is slightly weaker than that of Galar-Flampivian, which is why it only ranks second. However, its stamina and defense are slightly better than those of our first place.
Is there shiny Mamutel? Yes, but you cannot catch shiny Mamutel in the wild. To secure a shiny specimen, you need to look for a shiny Quiekel and evolve it accordingly. You can recognize it by its greenish body.
3. Snibunna
Snibunna normal (left) and shiny (right)
Best moveset: Ice Shard and Avalanche
Snibunna, the evolution of Sniebel, is of the Dark and Ice type. Its attack is slightly worse than that of Mamutel, and its stamina is also a bit lower. However, it can score points in defense.
Is there shiny Snibunna? Yes, shiny Snibunna can be developed from shiny Sniebel. Like Mamutel and Galar-Flampivian, Snibunna is usually not catchable in the wild. You can recognize the monster by its pink body.
4. Glaziola
Glaziola normal (left) and shiny (right)
Best moveset: Ice Crash and Avalanche
Another strong Ice attacker is Glaziola, an evolution of Eevee. The Ice-type Pokémon from the 4th generation also impresses with a strong attack.
With the moveset of Ice Crash and Avalanche, it is a bit slower than Snibunna but still deals significant damage. A major advantage of Glaziola is that Eevee spawns relatively frequently in the game, making it easy to obtain.
Can you catch shiny Glaziola? Shiny Glaziola is available in the game, but it can usually only be evolved. To do this, you first need to catch a corresponding shiny Eevee. In the past, there have also been exceptions where you could encounter a shiny Glaziola in raids or the wild during specific events.
5. Mewtwo
Mewtwo normal (left) and shiny (right)
Best moveset: Psycho Cut and Ice Beam
A Pokémon that is not usually expected to be on the list of top Ice attackers is the Psychic Pokémon Mewtwo. However, the legendary monster from the first generation is a real all-rounder and can learn Ice-type, Electric-type, Fighting-type, Fire-type, Ghost-type, and Normal-type charge moves in addition to its Psychic attacks.
Mewtwo also benefits from a really high attack value and strong stamina. In addition, its Ice Beam charge move deals significant damage. Mewtwo can also score points in defense, which puts it ahead of some typical Ice Pokémon.
Is there shiny Mewtwo? Yes, you can catch shiny Mewtwo. The legendary Pokémon is occasionally available in its shiny form in raids. You can recognize it by its green belly and tail.
What exactly kind of Pokémon Mewtwo is and where you can get it is explained in our corresponding article:
A relatively new Pokémon in the game is the Ice Pokémon Arktilas. The monster from the 6th generation is the evolution of Arktip and has been available in Pokémon GO since the Christmas event 2021.
With its moveset of Ice Fang and Avalanche, Arktilas primarily has a fast charge attack that deals significant damage. However, the Ice Pokémon has slightly lower attack compared to the previous placements.
Is there shiny Arktilas? No, you cannot catch shiny Arktilas in the game yet. Its pre-evolution Arktip is also not available in its shiny form in Pokémon GO.
7. Rossana
Rossana normal (left) and shiny (right)
Best moveset: Ice Crash and Avalanche
The Ice and Psychic Pokémon Rossana also uses a moveset of Ice Crash and Avalanche. In attack, it is slightly better than Arktilas, but its stamina is slightly weaker. Its defense value is also only average, making it vulnerable in battles.
Can you catch shiny Rossana? Yes, Rossana is available as shiny in Pokémon GO and can be caught in the wild. You can recognize it by its platinum blonde hair, pink dress, and purple body.
8. Articuno
Articuno normal (left) and shiny (right)
Best moveset: Ice Crash and Ice Beam
The legendary Ice and Flying Pokémon Articuno is also a good choice for your team of best Ice attackers. Its attack value is about as strong as that of Arktilas, but it can perform slightly better in terms of defense and stamina.
Thus, it can last longer in battles. Since it is somewhat slower with its moveset of Ice Crash and Avalanche, it ranks lower than Arktilas and Rossana.
Can you catch shiny Articuno? Yes, Articuno can be caught in its shiny form in the game. It is occasionally available in level-5 raids. The shiny form differs only by a slightly lighter shade of blue, so pay attention.
9. Siberio
Siberio normal (left) and shiny (right)
Best moveset: Powder Snow and Ice Hammer
Another strong Ice attacker is Siberio. The evolution of Petznief comes from the 5th generation and is also an Ice type. It can especially score with a high attack value that rivals Glaziola. Additionally, Siberio has good stamina.
However, its moveset of Powder Snow and Ice Hammer deals somewhat less damage compared to the other contenders. However, its charge attack is quite fast, so don’t underestimate Siberio.
Is there shiny Siberio? Yes, but shiny Siberio cannot simply be caught. To get it, you need to catch a shiny Petznief and evolve it to Siberio. You can recognize the shiny by its dark blue icicles and dark paws.
10. Porygon-Z
Porygon-Z normal (left) and shiny (right)
Best moveset: Hidden Power and Blizzard
Another surprise among the 10 best Ice attackers is Porygon-Z. The final evolution is of the Normal type. Accordingly, it can only perform attacks of this type in instant moves. However, it can rely on the ice attack Blizzard for its charge move.
Although Blizzard takes a relatively long time to charge, it deals a lot of damage. Additionally, Porygon-Z has a very high attack value that truly competes with that of Galar-Flampivian. This makes it overshadow other Ice attackers, like Rexblisar, and secures the 10th place in the ranking.
Is there shiny Porygon-Z? Yes, you can catch shiny Porygon in Pokémon GO and evolve it to Porygon-Z. You can recognize it by its blue head and purple body.
Are Shadow Pokémon worth it? An unreleased Shadow Pokémon can be quite helpful in raids as it benefits from an attack bonus. While defense decreases, making it easier to defeat, it still deals 20% more damage to its opponent in battle. Therefore, it is worth keeping a strong specimen as a Shadow and not releasing it.
Best Mega Ice Attacker
Mega-Rexblisar with Powder Snow and Weather Ball
Is Mega Evolution worth it? Currently, there is only one strong Ice-type Mega Pokémon in Pokémon GO: Mega-Rexblisar. The monster impresses with a high attack and good stamina values. Its defense is also solid. With the combination of Powder Snow and Weather Ball, it has a fairly fast moveset.
While Mega-Blastoise also has an Ice-type charge move, it is slower in its moveset compared to Mega-Rexblisar and deals relatively less damage. If there are further Mega Ice attackers in Pokémon GO in the future, we will of course update this article accordingly.
Which Ice attackers do you like to use in raid battles? Do you also rely on Shadow or Mega Pokémon? Feel free to share your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments and exchange ideas with other trainers about it.

The Nintendo Switch offers games for every age group. Here you will mainly find games suitable for children.
What kind of games are these? In the following list, you will find various games and game series that are suitable for the youngest among you, featuring simple gameplay and a friendly look. There are exciting games, but also puzzles and brain teasers, as well as games that primarily focus on creativity.
Many of them can be wonderfully played together and are quick to learn – even if you haven’t had much experience with gaming before.
You will find in this list not only an overview but also the prices of the games – these are the official prices from the Nintendo eShop, if you want to download the game directly. However, keep in mind that many of the games can be found significantly cheaper with other retailers.
The following list should not be viewed as a ranking. They are all equally suitable for children – although some are designed for different age groups.
All of these games are especially fun if you can already read or at least have someone to help with explanations. Otherwise, getting started can be difficult.

Additionally, more and more residents appear on the island. These are animals that bring their very own personalities. A cheerful cow with a loose mouth, rocking beavers, koalas, bears, squirrels – pretty much everything is included. Friendships can be built with these residents, and you can swap items or help with problems.
Otherwise, you spend the whole day fishing, catching insects, or designing the island. There are also special events that bring variety.
Overall, it’s very calm, pleasant, and without major traps. The most action occurs when you encounter nasty spiders or bees that can attack – but that is also a rather rare occurrence.
Animal Crossing is therefore wonderfully suited for relaxed video games. Furthermore, if you wish, you can play together with the family on one console or visit friends’ islands.
Genre: Adventure / Building Game | Players: 1 – 8 | Released: 21.06.2018 | Cost (in the Nintendo eShop): €29.99
Age Rating: USK from 6 years
What kind of game is this? Minecraft is definitely not a hidden gem when it comes to games for children. Rather, it has become a classic that still captivates numerous players.
In Minecraft, the main focus is on living out your creativity. Mine materials, craft tools, and then build whatever comes to your mind – that is the core of Minecraft.

The entire game features a friendly block design that may seem a bit outdated but also contributes to Minecraft’s charm.
There is a bit of action in Minecraft as well, if you want it: You can encounter enemies, play survival modes, and build bases to protect yourself against threats.
Consequently, the game is not only for the creative aspect but also suitable for children who want to face a challenge.
Yoshi’s Crafted World
Genre: Action / Platformer | Players: 1 – 2 | Released: 29.03.2019 | Cost (in the Nintendo eShop): €59.99
Age Rating: USK from 6 years
What kind of game is this? It doesn’t get much cuter than in Yoshi’s Crafted World: The little green dinosaur moves through a colorful crafted world, collects all sorts of items, and faces not very fearsome opponents. Interestingly, you can even explore the “back side” of the levels and thus get a new perspective on the materials from which they are made.

Yoshi runs and jumps through the world, must overcome jumping passages, throw eggs, and solve puzzles. However: It doesn’t get too difficult. Yoshi’s Crafted World is a simple, friendly jump ’n’ run with a low entry barrier.
There’s even a “Relaxed” mode where the Yoshis get wings and simply fly over nasty fall obstacles – just in case it gets frustrating. And if you want, you can also play the game with the Joy-Cons in two-player mode.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Genre: Puzzle Game | Players: 1 – 2 | Released: 13.07.2018 | Cost (in the Nintendo eShop): €39.99
Age Rating: USK from 6 years
What kind of game is this? Like Yoshi, the little mushroom Toad is also known from the Super Mario world. Here, he becomes the hero: As a treasure hunter, Captain Toad travels through cube-shaped levels to collect golden stars.
To achieve this, Toad has to find a way over the different cubes. Unlike Yoshi or Mario, Toad does not jump. In “Treasure Tracker”, Toad refrains from jumping and focuses on flipping switches, blocking enemies via touchscreen, or throwing turnips.

Especially cool: The levels can be rotated, allowing you to look at the cubes from different angles – and sometimes you even have to. Often, it comes down to finding clever solutions and the right timing. There are also boss fights, mini-games, and bonus challenges that are more demanding than the simpler basic puzzles.
In addition, the game offers a support mode. Here, a second Joy-Con can be used to shoot turnips at enemies or provide hints. Parents or siblings can help if progress becomes tricky. Since an update in 2019, there is also a real co-op mode, so you can play all levels together.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Genre: Racing Game | Players: 1 – 4 (local), 12 (online) | Released: 25.04.2017 | Cost (in the Nintendo eShop): €59.99
Age Rating: USK from 0 years
What kind of game is this? Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been around for a few years, but it is still one of the best-selling games on the Switch. No wonder: The colorful, action-packed racing game is simply fun – not just as a child but at nearly every age level.
The game features numerous characters from the Mario and extended Nintendo world (such as Link or the Inklings), lots of tracks and cups, as well as a variety of different racing cars and motorcycles. The combination possibilities are vast.
In the races, it’s not only about the skill behind the wheel but also about the clever use of various items: From bananas that make pursuers slip to Koopa shells and bullet bills, there are all sorts of things to throw opponents off track. Those who are further behind get better items – keeping the races exciting.
Mario Kart offers various difficulty levels and speeds so that everyone finds a good entry point for their skill level. From the 50cc cup on “easy” to online matches against opponents from around the world, there are plenty of levels to choose from.
However, one should note: If the performance gap is too large, it can lead to stress. It can be quite frustrating to crawl over the finish line in Mario Kart while siblings speed ahead.
On the next page, you will find two more games and some game series that are great for children.

Farming legendary items in World of Warcraft will become easier. You will soon be able to complete Torghast on a single character.
Patch 9.2 for World of Warcraft is currently still in development, with a new version hitting the PTR every few days. The developers seem to be paying much more attention to player feedback this time and are addressing many requests, such as reducing the grind in new content. However, adjustments are also being made to the “old” content. Farming legendary items will be easier, as resources can soon be exchanged even more simply.
What is the problem? Legendary items are not only a source of a lot of power for your character in WoW: Shadowlands, but in the eyes of many players, they are also a problem because they require a lot of farming work. In particular, the necessary visit to Torghast to obtain Soul Ash and Soul Cinders is a thorn in the side of many players. This is especially true for classes that find little joy in Torghast – due to different Anima powers and playstyles, most players have one class or another that is not much fun in the tower.
What will change? With Patch 9.2, players will be able to send not only Soul Ash between their characters but also the next tier resource, Soul Cinders, can be traded in this way. So you will be able to send Soul Cinders from one character to another.
Torghast in Patch 9.2 – you only need one character now.
As is usual with such systems, there is a slight loss involved. The purchase of the transport item costs 300 Soul Cinders, but grants only 250 Soul Cinders when used. This results in a loss of about 17%.
However, this is likely a small price for the certainty that you only need to visit Torghast with a single character.
You can buy these boxes from the bone smith Heirmir in Korthia – where you can already receive the packages for Soul Ash.
More news about World of Warcraft can be found here:
What does this mean? The change is primarily interesting for players who simply can’t stand Torghast with multiple characters. Until now, it was necessary to visit Torghast with each character to obtain enough Soul Cinders for upgrades from Rank 5 and Rank 6.
Since legendary items at Rank 7 require new items that cannot be obtained from Torghast, all Torghast requirements can be completed on the character of your choice. So if you have a character with whom you like to linger in Torghast, it is completely sufficient to complete a few farming runs with that character.
What do you think of the change? A good thing? Or is it not well thought out and should be resolved differently?

DOTA 2 is one of the largest games on Steam. It has now reached a new peak of players that hasn’t been seen for many months. The reason might be related to Netflix.
What is the current status of DOTA 2? According to steamcharts, Dota had 786,118 concurrent players in January 2022. The last time this MOBA had so many players was over a year ago—in May 2020.
With the massive number of players, DOTA 2 is currently in 2nd place among the most played games on Steam, right after Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and a solid distance ahead of the long-time favorite PUBG: Battlegrounds.
The game from Valve has maintained strong player numbers for years, which rarely fluctuate significantly. This usually happens during major e-sports events that are among the biggest in the world or during new seasons in DOTA 2.
This time, however, nothing occurred to explain such an increase. At least not in the game itself.
At the same time, the game mode Aghanim’s Labyrinth has been updated with new rewards, and an exclusive reward crate for the “International 2021” is now available. The tournament had its finale in October 2021.
What does Arcane have to do with it? At the end of 2021, a similar series to Dragon’s Blood called Arcane was also released on Netflix. However, this one focuses solely on the story of League of Legends, the major competitor of DOTA 2.
Everything about Arcane is fantastic, except for the ending – Review
Initially, Dragon’s Blood caused little stir for DOTA 2. It’s possible that the interest in the series and thus in the MOBA has grown only through the success of Arcane.
Since the player counts for DOTA 2 have steadily increased since September 2021, with some fluctuations before, several factors are likely at play here. The e-sports scene is particularly celebrated in DOTA 2:
On January 27, the content for 2022 was announced for the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. The upcoming DLC Update 33 Legacy of the Bretons will introduce account-wide achievements. Sounds good so far, but there is also a downside. MeinMMO author MiezeMelli gives you important insights.
What do account-wide achievements mean? In ESO, you can create up to 18 characters. Until now, achievements have been bound to the character. However, the developers now want to offer achievements account-wide, across characters.
That sounds good at first. You complete a quest and then immediately receive the corresponding achievement account-wide. But there is a catch to it all. And that’s exactly what I want to write about in this article. Because it affects me personally as a passionate ESO player who has been involved in ESO since the beta with a short break (3/4 year).
Who is speaking here? MiezeMelli has been playing The Elder Scrolls Online since the beta. Since early 2018, she has regularly streamed ESO on Twitch and has been part of Bethesda’s official ESO Stream Team since the end of 2020. Since January 2018, she has been creating videos (Raid Triples, Guides, DPS Tests) on YouTube. She has over 7,000 hours of gameplay on 18 different max-level characters, with which she has already earned multiple Trifecta titles. She currently has 2011 Champion Points in ESO (01.02.2022). On MeinMMO, she has been responsible for everything related to ESO, particularly guides, since May 2021.
Veterans feel neglected in ESO. This unfortunately seems to confirm with this change. And I was actually in good spirits when I tuned into the big announcement stream on the official Bethesda channel (via Twitch) on January 27.
The announcement itself lasted about 30 minutes. The Bretons as the focus for the next story didn’t blow me away, but the card game sounded to me like it could be interesting. Only in the post-show were account-wide achievements mentioned as a “Quality of Life” feature.
You can no longer see which character achieved an achievement
And that hit me really like a punch in the face, as I have spent the last years in ESO unlocking achievements on different characters. It is quite frustrating when this gameplay time and the associated effort are simply gone. And this primarily affects long-time players.
But I still tried to think positively, maybe there would still be a way to see on which character you achieved the achievement. That would solve the problem. So I waited until Monday for the new DLC to come to the PTS.
Unfortunately, my concerns were confirmed there, as it is indeed only displayed which character completed an achievement first.
I checked the achievements of two of my characters, both of whom have completed the achievement “Hero of Level 10”. Indeed, it only states that it was completed by one character for both characters.
Reward effect for repeating achievements is missing
Another problem is simply the missing reward effect. Why would players want to repeat content in the future for which the achievement has already been completed? Until now, there was an incentive to repeat these achievements on multiple characters.
It simply still feels good to receive an achievement. It rewards the player. That would simply be eliminated in the future. I see this as a big problem, as ESO could lose its incentive for some players.
Critical voices are increasingly present in the official ESO Stream Team
Not only do I have concerns regarding the new change. There are other voices in the official Stream Team that address problems with account-wide achievements and even upload their own video for it.
NefasQS posted a nearly 18-minute long video on February 3, 2022, in which he addresses various aspects:

Since the changes are well received by part of the community, I believe a solution needs to be found that is fair to all sides. My idea would be, why not simply have both? Account-wide achievements in the sense that the achievement points are cross-character and character-specific achievements so that you can see which character achieved an achievement at which point in time.
A cross-character insight into all achievements would also be a good idea and indeed represents a “Quality of Life” change for all players.

On Friday evening, a major event ran for Pokémon GO, attracting trainers with promo codes. The codes provided free items. However, they were surprisingly limited and excluded many trainers.
What kind of event was it? On Friday night, the four-hour stream of the Mobile Games Show kicked off with famous German-speaking influencers Kalle, Shurjoka, Marius Angeschrien, and Rezo. They competed against each other in various games related to Pokémon GO, LoL Wild Rift, Gumslinger, and Cats in Time.
The team from Pokémon GO announced beforehand that during the stream, 10 promo codes would be released, which each trainer could redeem up to 5. Attracted by this news, trainers waited on Friday evening for the new promo codes and were then severely disappointed.
Promo codes only redeemable limited, thousands left empty-handed
What the codes were supposed to provide: Each code redeemed by trainers grants the account 50 Poké Balls, a lure module, and an incense. With up to 5 promo codes, each trainer could have secured 5 incenses, 5 lure modules, and 250 balls. An exciting prospect that prompted many trainers to take time for the live event on Friday evening.
Those who were lucky and acted quickly could secure promo codes
What the problem was: Shortly after the first promo codes were released around 6:17 PM, some trainers noticed that the codes were not working for them. They were invalid, as indicated by the error message. However, some trainers reported that they were able to redeem the codes.
Within an hour, all 10 promo codes were released. Some trainers could only redeem one to four of them, not the hoped-for five. A bad mood spread in the community. What was the problem?
Apparently, Niantic had set a limit on the codes. Each individual code could only be redeemed by a specific number of trainers. Once that number was reached, the code became invalid.
In practice, this meant that a new code was exhausted within about 5 minutes (sometimes less). So, anyone who was in the chat or with us in the live ticker and did not redeem the code immediately was left empty-handed. Given the reactions in the community, this was the case for some trainers.
What the players say: We have some reactions to the event on MeinMMO.
Also on Twitter and reddit, the action circulated. Occasionally, trainers showed that they were successful in redeeming a few codes. Rarely does someone say that five codes worked.
Conclusion: The promo code action was a good idea that unfortunately was very limited in its execution. In the YouTube stream, where the codes were distributed, there were about 1,500 active viewers in the first hour. When the moderators then announced in the chat that the last codes were distributed and that Pokémon GO would be concluded as a topic, the viewer count dropped to about 500.
The players’ desire to obtain free items through promo codes was and still is great. We experience this here on MeinMMO again and again when new promo codes appear outside of such events.
That Niantic limited the codes to the extent that many thousands of trainers could not redeem a single code is a questionable decision. We hope that future events of this kind will go better.
Did you get lucky? Let us know here on MeinMMO in the comments if you were part of the stream or our live ticker and how many codes you managed to secure. Do you think it’s good that only the fastest trainers were rewarded, or should Niantic come up with a different solution for events of this type next time?

The gaming expert Jason Schreier has commented on the recent announcement of GTA 6. While he aligns with the concerns of some fans, the new GTA installment doesn’t seem to be too far away.
Who is the insider? Jason Schreier is a recognized journalist with strong connections in the gaming industry. He is known for speaking with developers and employees and bringing uncomfortable topics to light. For example, he wrote the major exposé on crunch at Cyberpunk 2077.
He also has his contacts within the GTA developer Rockstar. He already spoke in 2020 about GTA 6 being much further along than many fans think. However, Rockstar has remained tight-lipped. At least until now.
Following the announcement that work on the new GTA installment is already underway, Schreier is now discussing a potential release. While he phrases it cautiously, he seems to be quite confident.
“Wouldn’t be shocked to see the announcement this year”
This is what Schreier says: In a tweet, Schreier reveals that he expects to see the announcement for GTA 6 – or rather the new installment – still in 2022. He specifically says:
I wouldn’t be shocked to see the announcement for Grand Theft Auto VI later this year with a fake release date in “Fall 2023” that then shifts to 2024.
When asked why Rockstar would do such a thing, Schreier speculates about the upcoming quarterly report conference from Take-Two. Other users find the statement plausible, as both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 were delayed after their announcements.
A release in 2024 isn’t as far off as many fans believe. Some anticipate a release in 2025 or 2026, believing that Rockstar Games needs a lot of time for the world and new features.
This is what fans say: The community is currently still skeptical but also somewhat uncertain. Rockstar’s own statement was quite vague. It says: “We are pleased to confirm that active development for the next installment of the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ series is in full swing. We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready.”
On reddit, user turbojeebus states: “That’s like the explanation you give your boss when he asks for the status of a project that you haven’t even started yet.” Speculations suggest a timeline of up to 7 years into the future.
However, 2024 seems to be a tentative date among fans. A release around that time is also frequently discussed. But official statements are still lacking. Of course, we will keep you updated as soon as we know more.
In the meantime, you can look forward to the fact that at least the still ongoing GTA Online will soon also come to the new consoles:
Dying Light 2 is an exciting action RPG with zombie infection and a strong story element, which you can experience completely in co-op with up to 3 friends. When this is possible in the game, who gets the progress, and which problems can occur, you will find out on MeinMMO.
Here you will find all the important info about the co-op mode of Dying Light 2:
When is co-op possible?
How do I join friends?
What happens to the story progress?
Why isn’t multiplayer working?
What about crossplay?
Which versions can play together on PC or console?
What can I do if there are problems?
If you have problems with the co-op mode or just want to know how playing together in Dying Light 2 works, you will find the right answers here.
Dying Light 2: Unlock Co-op
When can you play co-op? In Dying Light 2, the co-op mode starts after the prologue. It takes 90 to 120 minutes until you reach the point in the story that can be played together.
Shortly after you infiltrate a hospital, you talk to Hakon on the roof. He gives you binoculars, and you should scout out a few locations with them. After that, you have free access to the first part of the city and finish the prologue at the same time.
Now you can play together – however, all co-op players must have completed the prologue to participate in the co-op session.
Start video
Everything you need to know about the new survival game Dying Light 2 – with gameplay
What can be played together? After completing the prologue, there are no limits to the co-op mode. The rest of the zombie adventure can be fully experienced with friends.
How do I join friends? There are 4 basic requirements for joining:
To be able to invite friends, you must start a game. Only then will you see the corresponding online menu in the game menu.
In the online settings, you must switch to an online lobby:
Single player: No one can join
Public: Anyone can join, even via a public lobby list
Private: Joining only by invitation
Friends only: Friends can join without an invitation
How does it work with co-op progress? If you join another player, quest completions do not count towards your save. The story progress applies only to the game host.
As a guest, however, you keep your weapons, items, and experience points that you collect. It might also happen that your position on the map changes when you return to your save.
Dying Light 2 has a co-op mode – some things you don’t want to do alone.
Dying Light 2: Multiplayer not working – Problems with co-op
Many of the problems with the co-op mode unfortunately stem from the fact that different versions of Dying Light 2 are not compatible with each other.
Which versions can play together? You need the same platform and the same version. The cut version cannot play together with the uncensored, international version. This applies to PC and console.
Is there crossplay in Dying Light 2? No, there is no crossplay. However, the developers confirmed that they are keeping an eye on the situation and it may be added later.
But if you want to play co-op in the near future, you shouldn’t wait for crossplay to come.
Who can play together on PC? Players on Steam and Epic Games can connect with each other. In the game menu, you have the option to connect your game with the account of the platform from which you did not purchase Dying Light.
Who can play together on consoles? Players on different console generations are unfortunately out of luck – there is no so-called “Cross-Gen-Play.” PS4 players can only play with PS4 players, and the PS5 remains isolated.
Similarly for Xbox consoles. Xbox One and Xbox Series models cannot connect with each other for the time being.
What other problems are there with co-op? There are also reports of technical issues such as disconnects in co-op. The developers have already commented on this on Twitter:

“Disconnects” in co-op mode are high on the priority list for developers shortly after release. Players advise to conduct the usual standard procedures in case of problems:
Restart the game
Restart PC / console
Check on Twitter if there are currently issues with the servers

World of Warcraft has begun its transformation. Better late than never, the game is finally ready to revise its core pillars.
The last few months have been characterized by negative news and reports about World of Warcraft. Boring content, forced systems, a questionable story, and the seemingly endless waiting time between patches have left WoW: Shadowlands more than just a few shortcomings. On top of that, the major sexism scandal at Blizzard has overshadowed everything else.
But slowly, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel, and the news surrounding WoW is improving. Better yet: The developers seem to truly listen to the players and make significant changes. Not only have many boosting communities been curtailed, but the cross-play feature is coming and the necessary grind is drastically reduced in new content.
This clearly shows that World of Warcraft is ready to tinker with the fundamental pillars of the game or even completely tear them down.
After 18 years, WoW finally breaks taboos and is ready to become a different and hopefully better game.
About the Author:
Cortyn has been playing World of Warcraft for nearly 18 years and has been covering the online role-playing game for MeinMMO for 9 years. Along the way, they have accumulated thousands of hours of gameplay without specializing in any particular content.
Whether it’s raids, dungeons, occasional PvP, roleplaying, lore, or simply collecting achievements – Cortyn follows almost everything there is to know about World of Warcraft and shares it with the readers.
The Breaking of Taboos: Horde and Alliance Together in Dungeons
When one thinks of World of Warcraft, the eternal conflict between Horde and Alliance comes to mind pretty quickly. Those who have played the game for many years will surely have some painful memories of friends who also play WoW but with whom one could never do anything together – because they were not part of the same faction.
For 18 years, this was simply a fixed fact: “You and I will never be able to play together unless one of us switches sides.”
And that’s how one had to come to terms with it. Because those who have played for years are rarely willing to give up their faction. They feel a belonging to the Alliance. Or they have been a loyal member of the Horde for years.
Until now, choosing a faction guaranteed that you could never play with the other side.
This previous impossibility is even firmly anchored in the game’s code. Some dungeons are designed to provide different gameplay experiences for Horde and Alliance. These contents were always created without the thought that players might someday be able to traverse them together.
Even Game Director Ion Hazzikostas finds this step eerie. Not because he doesn’t welcome it, but because it shakes the very foundation of what World of Warcraft has been for nearly two decades. In an interview with IGN, he said:
[…]In a game like this, we are stubborn and traditionalists. And it is eerie to say: Let’s uproot this fundamental pillar that the game has had for over a decade. But it was time.
In doing so, some seem to lose sight of the fact that it is only about one thing: more options.
Friendships should be maintained and expanded within the game. It’s not about diluting the gameplay experience or the sense of belonging to the Alliance or the Horde. It’s solely about not hindering friendships and enjoyment by clicking the wrong side 18 years ago.
Because those who believe that the possibility of cross-play weakens the private feeling of belonging to one side have perhaps not fully understood the system.
Anyone who does not want to participate in the system does not have to. In the open world, orcs remain hostile to humans, and trolls will not suddenly jump through Stormwind – or if they do, it will only be because they are currently tearing up the city in PvP.
In the dungeon browser, you can exclude the other faction. When visiting random dungeons, players will never even group with characters from the other faction.
Peace, joy, pancakes! So why not crossplay?
Less Grind = More Fun?
Even though the hype around cross-faction play is currently dominating the news, Blizzard is doing more. Patch 9.1.5 was the beginning of drastically reducing the grind in World of Warcraft again. Anyone who has leveled a second character in Korthia may have already noticed that this went much faster than with the first character.
In Patch 9.2, this trend will continue.
The necessary grind to unlock flying is virtually nonexistent. The same applies for unlocking features like double legendaries. It basically happens “on the side” and requires hardly any significant time investment. Even flying is already possible after about 2 weeks if you complete the story quests.
Here too, it should be noted: The grind is not gone. It’s just optional and mainly of interest for cosmetic rewards. Those who would rather raid all day, visit dungeons, or participate in PvP are no longer indirectly forced to grind reputation with a new faction through monotonous daily quests over weeks.
This is a change that will very likely continue in 10.0, the next expansion, at least if Blizzard wants to demonstrate that they have genuinely listened to the players and do not want to incur a new shitstorm.
Optionality in the grind only for those who truly want specific rewards – and not for everyone who is simply dependent on it to be able to effectively play in completely different content.
In February 2021, Valheim was the surprise hit on Steam and attracted millions of players in a short time. Now, a year later, the game still has tens of thousands of fans. MeinMMO takes a look at what has happened since the anniversary and why the game excites so many gamers.
The Current State of Valheim: Although Valheim was released as an unfinished indie game in early access on February 2, 2021, it remains popular to this day. In January 2022, according to steamcharts, over 55,600 players were playing Valheim simultaneously. Here are some key figures about the game:
at release, Valheim attracted over 498,000 players simultaneously
at its lowest point, the game still had 29,700 players simultaneously in August 2021
On average, the game never had less than 17,000 players, which is an enormous number for a small indie project. The success has even surprised the developers, who decided to simply give away a horse.
Why are so many excited about Valheim? Valheim is essentially a challenging survival game, but it is also less punishing. You need to eat, but you cannot starve. Better equipment makes everything easier, but is only truly necessary in cold conditions.
The game offers many freedoms and approaches to play. You can explore the world alone or defeat the game’s tough bosses with friends. Build an entire city as a clan or create massive structures alone – or plan enormous projects like the Port of Stormwind.
Especially the building system excites most players consistently. They share their creations. The developers even held a competition to reward exactly such builders.
Valheim offers as many creative freedoms as Minecraft, but combines them with a story and forgoes the childish charm. Additionally, it requires no overly powerful computers and is even playable natively on Linux. The result is 95% positive reviews on Steam.
Consistently Strong Reviews, Sporadically New Content
How Valheim Has Developed: Since its release in February 2021, mainly bugs have been fixed. The developers stated from the beginning that they wanted to do everything “right” before new content comes in a big way. Nevertheless, there have been several new features:
some balance patches and graphic updates for bosses
finally Hearth & Home, the long-awaited first update with new building and cooking recipes and a revised combat system
The longer development time does not seem to bother the core fans. Some clever Vikings have created new content through mods. Others want to turn Valheim into a true MMO with 1000 players.
Is it worth taking a look at the game? Even without mods, Valheim is still fun, as the player numbers alone show. If you enjoy co-op games and have a few friends on hand, you should give Valheim a chance – especially if you are creative minds with a knack for building systems.
Those who jump in now also have a good chance of seeing new content in the near future. Right after release, there was already a roadmap with plans, of which the first have been implemented, and others should be almost finished.
New Content is Almost Ready
In a developer update for the anniversary, the conversation included upcoming content. It states that they are currently planning the “final touches” on the new mountain update.
This is set to add caves and dungeons in the existing mountain biome, where wolves and other creatures dwell. When exactly the update will come is still unknown – but we expect it to be around the beginning of summer at the latest.
Additionally, there is already a first look at the new enemies from the planned Mistlands biome. The Mistlands are the first new biome to be introduced in Valheim. At first glance, it looks like an enchanted spider forest, where apparently strange moths will also be found:

Data for the updates is still pending. As Valheim is still the project of a small team that has only recently been able to grow, at least the content that is directly upcoming will probably take a little longer. After all, game development takes years even for large studios.
Afterwards, it should ideally go faster once the team has reached an appropriate size. The developers have, however, already pointed out that Valheim will eventually come to an “end”. We are eagerly waiting to see when that will be.
In the meantime, 2022 already offers several other exciting survival titles that will hopefully quench the thirst for more:
Even before the official release of Dying Light 2, there were complaints about the Denuvo DRM. Now there are reports from players who are being locked out of their own game – apparently thanks to the unpopular feature.
Update February 7: We have received a response from the developer. The issue should no longer occur.
Why are players being locked out? Shortly before the release, developer Techland announced that Dying Light 2 will come with Denuvo. The program provides a copy protection that is supposed to prevent pirated copies of the game from being made – or at least not so quickly.
On reddit, a user explains how exactly this protection affects players. There seems to be a lock that simply blocks the game after it has been started 5 times. However, the start only counts when a new “key” has been generated.
This happens every time you restart your computer. As long as you stay in the same cycle, it still counts as one session for Denuvo – you can start Dying Light 2 an unlimited number of times. However, this does not apply to everyone.

Denuvo as a big problem – especially for GeForce Now
Who is affected? Denuvo is only active on PC, which is why the problem only affects PC players. However, it can hit anyone who restarts their PC multiple times and opens Dying Light 2 during that time.
However, particularly affected are according to reports on Reddit users of GeForce Now. The game is playable via Nvidia’s service. However, since it uses a new cloud PC every time you start, the 5 sessions are quickly reached.
According to affected players, they are then locked out of the game for 24 hours, even on their home PC. They cannot play Dying Light 2 anymore if they have started it too often via GeForce Now.
How can I prevent a lock? So far, we do not know of a reliable solution. At the moment, we advise against using GeForce Now if possible. The software is useful for playing on the go via cloud gaming, but it can jeopardize your access.
If you do not want to forgo GeForce Now, you should not start more than 5 sessions a day. If you need to switch trains too often or have a poor connection, be careful not to log in too often.
We have already inquired with the developers whether the issue is known and if it will be fixed. According to a response from February 7, the limit has been increased and the problem should no longer occur.
Even if PC players have certain restrictions due to Denuvo, they can still enjoy a huge advantage – at least in Germany. Because the dispute over the cut version has largely been settled here:
The 20-year-old YouTuber Schmooey has been considered the best player of Guitar Hero since 2018. However, in recent weeks, doubts have arisen about whether everything was above board. He now admits: He cheated. He will delete all his videos, return prize money, and withdraw from the business.
Whyu was Schmooey considered the best player?
In Guitar Hero, the aim is to play songs on a guitar while staying in rhythm. The more complex and faster the songs become, the harder it is to play them flawlessly.
Even as a teenager, Schmooey established himself as one of the most gifted players of a plastic guitar the world has ever seen. As the site Kotaku writes, he could not only play the most difficult songs of Guitar Hero, but he did it faster than anyone else.
This way, he was able to win several bounties totaling several thousand dollars that the community had put up for mastering particularly challenging tracks.
After 3 years, experts suddenly discover irregularities
This is how he got caught: For years, there were some irregularities in his videos, like a video lag or poor lighting, but everything always looked real. That changed in December 2021 when a video of the song “9 Patterns of Eternal Pain” went live.
In this very complex and fast piece, experts noticed that Schmooey’s hand movements did not match what was actually being played. At the end of the video, the overlay of Windows Media Player was also visible – this raised some skeptics’ alarms.
After Schmooey was confronted with the allegations, he initially defended himself but then admitted that “a few videos” were fake, although most were real.
However, once the suspicion was out in the open, players scrutinized every video Schmooey had ever uploaded. They found evidence of something being amiss in almost all videos, nearly a hundred videos.
Schmooey was apparently a master deceiver who recorded the songs “slowly”, but then played them back in the video faster, making it seem like he accomplished everything live.

This is what he says now: In a video from January 15, Schmooey has now fully admitted his guilt. He announced that he would return the prize money and apologized to the community.
He says he acted out of a mix of greed and envy. He wants to change and feels terrible now. He is now in a very vulnerable position.
He had a lot of “darkness in his life”, but he was still aware that his actions were wrong. Therefore, he does not want to justify himself either.
He says he knows he is now a fraud. But he wants to do everything so that he is not a coward as well, and therefore he is fully facing the consequences of his actions. He is ashamed of what he did, especially in front of those who looked up to him. And he is ashamed of the people from whom he stole deserved attention and recognition.

How could he deceive everyone for so long? The ironic thing is that Schmooey could only cheat because he was really good and was considered an acknowledged professional who could also play Guitar Hero exceptionally well live and even shaped the meta.
Another player explains: He could do such crazy things live in line sessions that people trusted him and didn’t look closely anymore. Schmooey evidently exploited this.
This is what it’s about: The sequence of events in the scandal resembles the exposure of plagiarism cases. Once the slightest suspicion arises that a doctoral thesis or a non-fiction book was not correctly produced, you can be sure that people will scrutinize it so closely that they will definitely find something.
Then the doctorate title is gone quickly.
Ironically, such a cheating case also hit the one who was considered the world’s best Minecraft speedrunner. However, he weathered the scandal easily and is now bigger than ever:
In 2022, some online games will close their doors again. In this article, we reveal which games will be affected and when they will actually close. This allows you to try them one last time.
What kind of games are on the list? The games listed here will not survive the year 2022. The shutdown of their servers has already been announced by the developers themselves.
We will tell you what made the games special and whether it is worth trying them out before their shutdown.
What kind of game is this? Wizards Unite comes from developer Niantic, who are also behind Pokémon GO. Instead of small Pokémon, you will fight magical creatures from Harry Potter here. All well-known characters from the books and films can be found here.
Why was it shut down? There is no official reason for the end of Wizards Unite. However, the game was not nearly as well-known and successful as Pokémon GO.
Is it worth playing it again? Wizards Unite is the first title on the list that has already been completely shut down. So you can no longer play it.
This is the global version of the game, which also included more classes and some revisions. However, this version was also unable to convince the mainstream audience. In recent months, an average of only slightly over 90 people played Kritika. In September 2021, there were only over 200 players online at peak times.
Is it worth playing it again? The MMO is perfect for hacking through dungeons alone or with friends and taking out everything that stands in your way. With the action-packed combat system and huge numbers, fun is guaranteed.
The game featured obvious pay-to-win, but the shop was already deactivated in January. Since the game is free to play, you lose nothing by trying it out. You can download it on Steam, among other platforms.
