In most MMORPGs, you must choose a class when creating a character and cannot change it later. However, there are also games in the genre that do without a class system. We at MeinMMO show you 5 of them.
What kind of games are these? The selected MMORPGs differ greatly from each other and only have the lack of classes in common. Some focus on PvP, while others focus on PvE. In some games, the story is important, while in others, you can completely disregard it.
By what criteria were they selected? We have selected games that:
focus on multiplayer and online play.
are still actively played.
are still relevant, as we can see from the interest of MeinMMO readers.
concentrate on equipment and skills instead of pre-made classes.
For each of the games, you will find a short description. Additionally, there is an explanation of how the classless system works and what the MMORPG focuses on instead. If you are looking for the currently most popular MMOs, you can find another relevant list here: The 10 MMORPGs with the most players on Steam in July 2022.
What kind of game is this? In Albion Online, you can really let loose. The sandbox MMORPG from the Berlin developers Sandbox Interactive allows players many options to shape the MMORPG. All items are crafted by players, and the economy depends on them.
Albion Online offers PvE but focuses more on PvP – in the end game, you will often be attacked by other players and can even lose your equipment.
You roam through the vast fantasy world, find your own path, and decide for yourself whether you want to beat up other players or monsters. A fixed class system would not fit there.
How does it work without classes? In the combat system of Albion Online, you are what you wear. Depending on the weapon and equipment, your character’s abilities change. You can vary your play style according to your preferences and try out which role you like best.
The keys Q, W, and E hold your three attacks, which are determined by the weapon. You gain additional skills through chest armor, head armor, and boots. This gives you numerous combination possibilities.
Additionally, you determine your playstyle through the so-called “Board of Destiny,” your talent tree.

For over 420 days, the Minecraft streamer MysticalMidget traveled 2,500 hours in one direction to ultimately plunge to his death at the edge of the world.
Background of the action:
With nearly 1,000 followers on Twitch, MysticalMidget is among the smaller streamers on the platform.
With unusual actions, he tries to draw attention to himself
In February 2021, he began his journey to the end of the (Minecraft) world
This ended on July 11, 2022, with a fall into the abyss
To the End of the World
What is it about? In the approximately one-minute clip, streamer MysticalMidget can be seen walking through an extremely glitched-looking Minecraft world while his friends cheer him on. He himself calls out “The world says no” a few times, and then the moment arrives: one more step and he falls with a scream through the ground into the abyss.
After a remarkable 420 days, he reached the edge of the world and clipped through the ground. For a few seconds, he managed to delay his inevitable death by eating bread, which heals in Minecraft, and then it’s “Game Over.”

What exactly happened? Especially in open-world games, players often see reaching the end of the world as a challenge. There are often barriers, invisible walls, or hidden surprises from developers.
According to his own statements, Mystical is the 5th person to have walked to the “far lands” (in English: far lands). These are located at the outermost edge of the generated world. To reach them legitimately, without cheats or teleportation, one must travel about 12 million blocks from the central (0;0) coordinates.
However, he went a few – or more precisely 20 million – steps further and crossed them to reach the actual end of the world. In the newer versions of Minecraft, there is an insurmountable wall at this point. Therefore, the streamer had to time travel and play the Beta 1.7 version. There, there is no wall, and the landscape seemingly continues.
To achieve this curious goal, Mystical invested over 2,500 hours spread over 420 days. Reactions on Reddit are mixed. Some admire the persistence, while others consider it the biggest waste of time ever.
What characterizes the “far lands”? Besides the fact that they are not very easy to reach, the far lands are primarily characterized by their extremely unusual geography. They consist of a wild mix of biomes that one normally does not see in Minecraft.
Additionally, the enormous amount of blocks generated on the long journey affects performance. First of all, movements become jerky, the framerate drops, and the CPU is impacted. This can lead to game crashes.
In the current version, behind the “far lands” you will find a wall, but in the older versions, there are so-called “Ghost Blocks” or “Fake Blocks” that cause you to fall right through as soon as you step on them.
However, Mystical is not resting on his laurels. Still in the stream, he switched to the 1.19 version of Minecraft and continued playing in a different world.
Other content creators also continue to find creative challenges to tackle. This recently ended for well-known YouTuber HandofBlood sparsely dressed in a cauldron.

At the end of June, the action MMORPG TERA was shut down worldwide. Officially, it was stated that the developers would no longer release new content. However, in return, TERA Classic is now being launched in new regions. The game has been available in China and Korea for a while, but it has only attracted a few followers.
In contrast, TERA Classic is a purely mobile game that was released in 2020 for Android and iOS – but only in Korean and Chinese. However, this adapted version did not receive particularly good feedback.
In the Google Play Store, the game received 6,720 reviews with an average rating of 2.5 stars. That’s not much compared to the titles from our list of the best mobile MMORPGs.
Now, the developer Playpark announced the release of TERA Classic for the Southeast Asia region. The game is set to be released in 2022 and will also receive an English localization. Additionally, there will be no region lock, so you can play the mobile MMORPG anywhere you want.
Playpark is known for publishing Korean games in Southeast Asia. They will also distribute the upcoming Noah’s Heart there.

TERA Classic includes elements from the old MMORPG but does many things differently
How is TERA Classic structured? TERA Classic draws on the same game world as the PC MMORPG and offers similar classes – however, each class has only one playable race and one playable gender.
Otherwise, it offers much of what players disdain in mobile MMORPGs:
The interface is cluttered and blinks everywhere
There is auto-run and auto-fight, which significantly diminishes the good combat system of TERA
Abilities are severely limited compared to the PC version
The world is not as open
It is free-to-play, although it is not very clear what can be purchased in the shop
A glimpse of TERA Classic is provided by this video from MMOByte:

If you’re still hoping for new MMORPGs, you’ll find them here:
The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online is receiving Update 35 in August, which is supposed to bring changes to the combat system. MeinMMO author MiezeMelli is critical of the changes. This will significantly alter the player experience.
Performance should be rewarding. In every context, even in a game. This gives ambitious players like me the incentive to play. I quickly lose interest and get bored with simple tasks. I also started very small in ESO and had no idea about MMOs, DPS, and weaving.
But at some point, I wanted to improve, to take down bosses before they could even lift a finger. And so I stood at the training dummy for hours every day to raise the numbers.
It was tremendous fun to see small progress every day. Competing with stronger players really motivated me to keep practicing. I was truly challenged and find it absolutely justified that players who master weaving are significantly stronger. The high numbers represent a direct reward for me.
What does weaving mean? It refers to the “weaving” or alternation of skills and light or heavy attacks. After each skill, there is a light or heavy hit. This requires precise timing in the combat rotation and significantly increases the damage dealt.
That is what makes the fast combat system in ESO special for me, and this is how the MMORPG has distinguished itself from other titles in the genre. I find it unappealing to just mindlessly cast a bunch of skills back-to-back on cooldown.
I have been playing ESO for almost 8 years, have been part of the official stream team since 2020, and one of the biggest incentives to keep playing has always been the prospect of personal improvement. If I can handle the combat system better, my performance will also improve. But that is exactly what the new update aims to change.
The latest major update from ESO is High Isle. You can find all information about High Isle in our article here and in the video the trailer for the update:
Start video
New gameplay trailer celebrates the release of ESO High Isle on PS5, PS4 and Xbox
ESO no longer rewards me for getting better
The damage from light and heavy attacks will no longer scale with attributes. Thus, the damage is reduced. Combat effects that increase damage will last longer.
The developers’ argument is a supposed discrepancy between players who are able to weave and are therefore significantly stronger, and those who cannot master it – thus are weaker.
It is a peculiarity of the game that we have now accepted as such, as our combat feels different and exciting or challenging as soon as you have understood the basics. However, weaving significantly affects the performance, resulting in players who do not fully master this falling far behind those who can.
Unfortunately, I do not see anything positive here, as it seems to me to be a slow but steady development towards a less demanding combat system.
The changes are endgame dumping
In my article about the combat changes in update 33, I already criticized this point. Especially for long-time players, this is an absolute downgrade. This part of the community looks for new challenges. With the extension of combat effects, I envision fighting as a bit like driving on the highway for hours: boring and monotonous.
The Nightblade is my favorite class for a reason – with frequent weapon switching and the high importance of light attacks. This playstyle feels dynamic and exciting.
I absolutely do not agree with the developers’ argument that the above-mentioned change would mean less focus on the ability bar. Of course, you need to focus on that, regardless of which number is ticking down.
There is a continuous effort to bring down the high damage numbers of strong players. It would be refreshing to have something different. Because the upcoming damage cuts primarily affect the players in the endgame again. It’s really getting annoying.
In the endgame, players want to stand out from the crowd. I find it frustrating when there is always a barrier put up, following the motto: “No. You are too good, that’s not how this works.”
Where is the fun competition?
It’s like playing football without counting the goals, and in the end, everyone wins. That’s no fun! There will continue to be a difference, but it will likely become smaller and smaller. At some point, I find myself asking: Why bother? I really find that unfortunate and it definitely takes away some of the fun of playing for me.
If you’re interested in more about ESO, you might also be interested in:
I know that the changes will certainly trigger controversies in the community. The perspective on the upcoming changes strongly depends on what type of player one is. We have a small quiz at MeinMMO: What type of player are you in The Elder Scrolls Online?

A pretty fancy mount has landed in the shop of World of Warcraft. Many of you may have already received it “for free”.
World of Warcraft no longer makes its money just from selling expansions or subscription fees, but also from the in-game shop. This is regularly stocked with mounts, pets, or more recently also toys and transmog sets. Recently, a new mount was added to the shop.
What kind of mount is this? The “Nether-Gorged Greatwyrm” is, as the name suggests, a quite large and fairly detailed mana wyrm.
Visually, the mount seems made for blood elf characters. The saddle and bridle are in golden and red colors, while greenish jewels resemble Fel crystals – this is the same color palette that adorns the blood elf city of Silvermoon. The golden “wing” applications and the head and saddle also strongly remind one of the insignia and aesthetics of the Sin’dorei.

How to get the mount? The wyrm is part of a new promotional action. Anyone who subscribes for 6 months for World of Warcraft will receive the mount as a bonus – in addition to the general 15% discount that a long-term subscription already brings.
What if you already have a subscription? Those who already have an active 6-month subscription need not be upset – you will also receive the Nether-Gorged Greatwyrm. Whether new subscriber or loyal long-term customer with a permanent 6-month subscription, you will get the mount.
However, be aware that it may take a few days for the mount to appear as a gift in your Battle.net app. Once that happens, you have until December 31, 2022, to activate the mount with a click on “Redeem”.
You can redeem the mount with just two clicks.
Can you also buy the mount separately? Yes, that is possible. If you do not want to commit to World of Warcraft for 6 months but are still taken by the Nether-Gorged Greatwyrm, you can also directly purchase it in the shop. Then the mount costs a respectable 25 euros. So, if you want, you can also earn the mount indirectly with in-game gold through the WoW token.
Community reactions: As usual with a new shop mount, reactions on YouTube are rather devastating. It has become common to downvote absolutely every video about a new shop mount in WoW. The comments show clear aversion as well, here are some examples:
“*presses dislike* How many times do we need to teach you this lesson, old man?”
“You keep ruining the game, thank you.”
“Another reskin of the worm model. 10/10, would not buy.”
However, if you look around on fan sites, the mood seems to be rather mixed to positive. On wowhead, for example, many players like the look of the mount, especially in combination with the legacy armor of the blood elves. But there is also criticism that the mount might have fit better in another part of the game:
“It’s even translucent. Are those the ribs? That’s pretty fantastic… I think I want it… very.”
“Oh my god, that looks amazing. If this is any indication of how they design mounts in Dragonflight, then I am excited.”
“Simple and straightforward: This should have been the mount for the blood elf campaign in patch 9.2.5 instead of this poorly resolved green falconer…”
What do you think about this mount? A nice bonus for a 6-month subscription? Or does it not entice you out from behind the couch?

On July 9th and 10th, the Battle Weekend took place in Pokémon GO. The event included a special research, Rocket battles, and bonuses in the Battle League. However, for some players, it was too much all at once. They would have preferred a separation over two weekends.
For fans of Cryptos, there were four new Pokémon as well as battles against Team GO Rocket and special research on Giovanni.
PvP players received 20 battle sets per day, more Stardust, and the chance for legendary Pokémon.
There was an additional free raid pass per day, double raid XP, and special event moves.
Just this list reads like an event that could easily have been split into three weekends. On reddit, this is exactly what is being criticized. There was so much to do that some couldn’t decide or couldn’t reach all the set goals.
“The event should have been split into two weekends”
What do the players say? On reddit, the user pryon-i started the discussion about the Battle Weekend. He felt overwhelmed by the multitude of tasks. Especially the event developments, he would have preferred to see on a separate day. He actually wanted to get a Charizard with Overheat, but couldn’t manage it due to the other content.
In this opinion, the user is not alone. His thread received over 900 upvotes and a lot of support:
AOMax agrees with the thread starter: “Absolutely. The most boring events sometimes last 10 to 14 days, while they bring so much content in just one weekend. That is, honestly, just disappointing.”
Zomino2000 is also dissatisfied: “It’s either progressing super slowly or you get everything in way too short a time. It reminds me of why I’m slowly getting tired of the game.”
TopAcanthocephala also criticizes Niantic’s organization: “It was incredibly overwhelming, especially because I constantly had to check secondary sources in-game due to Niantic’s poor communication. The PoGo editors take so much work off Niantic. I don’t play many other games with a live player base, but I can’t imagine that they all have to rely so heavily on spreadsheets and explanations from third parties.”
pryon-i also sees a problem in the PvP content that hardly anyone could utilize at this event:
Their [Niantic’s] communication is constantly about how to get more people into PvP. Definitely not this way.
What would the solution have been? To extend the event or to distribute the content over two weekends. However, the event calendar for July is already very well filled:
The user ImChillingInReddit says he enjoyed having a weekend full of tasks again.
Also swanny246 found the event good because it prevented players from burning out on a single content. If you are not in the mood for catching or evolving, you could go into raids or PvP.
What do you think about the event? Was it too much for you too, or did you just binge through the weekend? Feel free to write it in the comments.

Valorant has released a new update that brings several changes. Among them is one that aims to protect you from smurfs – players who can quickly ruin your fun.
What is this change? Valorant is changing in the latest update how quickly new players receive their appropriate rank. This is aimed against so-called smurfs. A new detection system has been introduced for this purpose.
The system is supposed to match smurfs more quickly against “other players of similar skill level”. However, the specific accounts that fall under this category have not been specified. Presumably, this applies to all accounts from level 20 that enter ranked matches in Valorant.
What are smurfs? In gaming, players who play with a new account but are actually much better are referred to as “smurfs”. These include professionals like shroud, who recently returned to e-sports – even in Valorant.
In the video, we explain the term “smurf” in detail – as well as some other terms from gaming:
Start video
Do you not understand your gamer friends? Here are 14 terms you should know
Why are smurfs so bad? Smurfs play at low ranks and prey on real beginners. In Valorant, a single good player can already cause an absolute imbalance in a match, regardless of which team they are on.
You win or lose much harder than would normally be the case. This usually makes it neither fun for the victims nor for the teammates of the smurfs.
Patch Notes for Valorant: Change aims to recognize smurfs more quickly
When will the change come? On the North American servers, the change has been active since July 11. It is currently being tested and adjusted there. When it will come to Europe is still open.
What else is in the patch? The update comes with several other changes as well. There are buffs for Phoenix and Yoru, and a tweak for KAY/O. Additionally, there are some bug fixes. You can find the complete patch notes on the official Valorant website.
What do you think of the change? Have you had a problem with smurfs, or did the second accounts of professionals and legends bother you less? Will you give Valorant another chance and maybe return?

No matter if MMORPG, shooter or beat ’em up, jumping is one of the core mechanics in many games and even established a whole genre. But what was the first game in which one could jump?
Hardly any mechanic is as important across genres and used so versatilely as jumping. We jump in shooters, in MMORPGs, in beat ’em ups, and even in some sports games.
Jumping is not only used in different titles to overcome obstacles or similar but is also often a significant part of movement in battles against AI or even against other players.
But the fact that we can jump in video games today is thanks to a cartoon hero that probably most of you know.
[toc]
A gorilla revolutionizes gaming
What was the first game in which one could jump? The internet has been in agreement for years that Donkey Kong from 1981 was the first game in which one could really jump. But was it also the first game that had a jumping mechanic?
Donkey Kong is, alongside Super Mario, Pikachu, Crash Bandicoot, and Zelda, one of the biggest icons in video game history and to this day one of the most successful arcade games. On the journey to help a young woman in distress, the player must climb different levels of the obstacle course and jump over barrels that Donkey Kong throws at us, which then roll along the play area.
When it comes to pure jumping, that is the movement where one pushes off the ground with their legs, Steeplechase is the first game in which one could jump.
Steeplechase is a game that was released on Atari in 1975. However, in Steeplechase, you can neither jump freely nor determine the direction. You race along a straight horse racing track as if on rails and press the button that triggers the jump.
Which game had a greater influence on today’s jumping? In Donkey Kong, jumping is more elaborated. It is no longer just a button press; it feels like a real mechanic. We jump in different directions and use the motion to master the level.
The influence of the iconic gorilla on the jumping mechanic can therefore be considered greater than that of Steeplechase – at least when we look at subsequent titles such as Super Mario Bros. or Crash Bandicoot.
But even though it is significantly limited in executing a jump, Steeplechase still deserves mention among the games that established jumping in the world of video games. Which title was ultimately more decisive for jumping remains uncertain.
For anyone wanting to get nostalgic and watch “Donkey Kong” gameplay, we embed a video from the YouTube channel Carls493. The version shown there is an emulation of the game from Japanese arcade machines.

Jumping evolves further and establishes a whole genre
Which genre emerged through jumping? The world of video games offers a wide variety of different genres. Many are influenced by the jumping mechanic, but one relies on it: the “Jump ‘n’ Run” games.
In “Jump ‘n’ Run” games, you have to do exactly what the title implies – jump and run. Particularly, one game emerged within this genre and established the most well-known franchise in the video game industry: the “Super Mario” franchise originated around Super Mario Bros.
The legendary platformer Super Mario Bros. was released in 1985 and took jumping in video games to a whole new level. Not only that: Super Mario began its journey there and went on to become the protagonist of numerous games.
Lost Ark, Rainbow Six and Co. – Games that do without jumping
Which games do without jumping? Some of the biggest games in the world use the jumping mechanic that is favored by players and sometimes used excessively. This includes huge shooter franchises such as Call of Duty and Battlefield, but also MMORPGs like World of Warcraft and beat ’em ups such as Street Fighter. But there are also examples of successful games that completely dispense with jumping.
Among the MMORPGs, Lost Ark is probably currently the largest game in which players cannot jump. The same goes for Diablo Immortal.
But there is also a long-standing successful spin-off among shooters in which no jumping mechanic has been built: Rainbow Six Siege.
Ubisoft’s tactical shooter allows you to jump over objects and even pull yourself up onto a roof by rope, but you cannot stand in an open area and simply bounce into the air or jump forward when there is no obstacle nearby.
What do you think about the jumping mechanic in games? Do you think shooters like CoD or MMORPGs like WoW could do without jumping, as you consider it unnecessary, or is jumping a mechanic that you do not want to miss?
If you’re interested in more interesting trivia about gaming and technology, MeinMMO editor Benedikt Schlotmann tells you where the mouse on the PC actually got its name.
Are you looking for accessories or gadgets that you can buy on Prime Day? MeinMMO editor Benedikt Schlotmann presents two mice that he would buy again and again. You can get both devices at a good price right now.
Many gamers buy a gaming mouse because they often offer many additional features that you don’t get with an office mouse.
In my time as an editor for MeinMMO and privately, I have now bought over 20 gaming mice. Two of them are currently available at a great price thanks to Prime Day on Amazon. And these two mice are among my absolute recommendations.
What they are, why I can recommend them, and why I would buy them again, I will explain to you in this article.
My first tip: Roccat Kone Aimo Remastered
Why do I like this mouse so much? When it comes to gaming mice, my girlfriend and I agree on the Aimo Remastered: we both find the ergonomics really well done, both with my larger hands and my girlfriend’s smaller hands. This perfection was not quite reached by Roccat with the Kone XP, which I was able to test, although it is also really good.
In addition to the ergonomics, I also like the surface of the mouse, which prevents it from getting dirty. The lighting and design also make the Kone Aimo Remastered one of my favorites. Only the design of the SteelSeries Rival 5, which I was able to test, tends to please me a little better.
What don’t I like so much? The biggest weakness of the mouse is the scroll wheel. Many people who have already bought this mouse will also confirm this: If you turn in one direction, it may be that the scroll wheel doesn’t scroll smoothly in one direction or clicks correctly anymore.
These errors can be incredibly annoying in the long run, but I wouldn’t want to miss the mouse as it just feels good in the hand. I have been using the mouse for about 3 years now and otherwise it is absolutely fine. One thing that also bothers me is that the mouse cable is not detachable.
The Kone AIMO Remastered (left) with its new sister, the Kone XP. The latter offers more buttons than the Remastered but does not have such great ergonomics.
For whom is the mouse recommended? If you are looking for a gaming mouse for many different genres and enjoy playing shooters, strategy games, or casual games like I do, then I can highly recommend this mouse.
The Kone Aimo Remastered is not exactly light with a weight of 130 grams. If you play with low DPI values and move your mouse around a lot, then the mouse could be too heavy for you in the long run. In that case, I would rather recommend the SteelSeries Prime Mini, which weighs only 60 grams and forgoes the honeycomb pattern.
For 38.42 Euro, you will get a strong mouse if you don’t want to commit to a specific genre and if the high weight of the mouse doesn’t bother you:
Oops, unfortunately this affiliate widget is no longer available.
My second tip: Logitech G502 Hero Lightspeed
Why do I like this mouse so much? The G502 Hero Lightspeed offers pleasant ergonomics and feels secure thanks to the soft contour in the thumb area. The lighting is subtle, which is very nice if you usually have RGB mice on your desk.
Unique is also the scroll wheel, as it can run endlessly without resistance. I like to use that for long texts. Razer has copied that with the Basilisk V3, but the original from Logitech still appeals to me the most.
Simple but highly precise: The G502 Hero (here in the wired variant).
I have been using the G502 Hero for about 2 years now and have had no problems during this time. The scroll wheel works perfectly, and the buttons do as well. The mouse feet underneath the mouse do seem a bit worn out now. Therefore, I positively assess its durability.
With the G502 Hero, you can also adjust the weight with additional weights. Personally, I have never used that feature since I already find the mouse heavy enough at its weight of 114 grams. And the weight is a point where you secretly outpace the competition from SteelSeries:
What don’t I like so much? Logitech uses a micro-USB port as a charging port. That is simply not modern anymore, as almost all manufacturers have now switched to USB-C. The idea of charging the G502 with Powerplay technology sounds great at first. But the mouse pad costs just as much as the mouse. So, I stick with the standard pad and charge the mouse every three days. Small hands also cannot reach all the buttons: My girlfriend complains, for example, that she can’t reach the shooter button in the thumb area anymore.
For whom is the mouse recommended? The Logitech G502 Hero, like the Roccat mouse, is an all-rounder. Thanks to its many buttons, you can play pretty much any game with it, from shooters to MMOs. That’s also the reason why I still like to use it to this day.
As with the Kone, the high weight is also a factor to consider for the Logitech G502 Hero. At 114 grams, the Lightspeed variant is also 7 grams lighter than the regular G502. For 69.99 Euro, you get a really good all-round gaming mouse without a cable.

Where can you find Burt? The merchant has 5 possible spawn points. If you try all 5 at the given server times within 25 minutes, you are sure to find the traveling merchant.
You can find Burt in these locations in East Luterra:
Blackrose Chapel
Leyar Cliffside
Boreas Realm
Crocony’s Coast (south and north)
Here you can see the exact locations of Burt (click to enlarge, via papunika.com).
Why you should visit Burt
The return is also worthwhile: Burt has a collectible item that you need for the adventure journal in East Luterra, and there is also a chance that he will have a valuable collectible card with him. Therefore, it is worth it for experienced adventurers to check in with the traveling merchant more often.
With a bit of luck, you can buy the Seria card from him. You need this card as often as possible for the Lostwind Cliff card set. This is a set that gives you a bonus on critical damage. It is one of the best card sets for DPS classes and a good alternative to the expensive “Light of Redemption” set.
In addition to the Seria card, Burt also has a chance for the Nox and Stormwing cards.
Also suitable for flirting: If you are missing rapport items to improve your reputation with NPCs, you can also visit good old Burt.
He may offer you Azenaporium’s Brooch, Dyorika’s Straw Hat, or a Luterra Sword with a bit of luck. You can give these items to your sweetheart to improve your relationship with that character.
Even a legendary rapport item may be available from Burt, but with a lower chance.
Have you already found Burt and completed your card sets? Or are you still regularly searching for the traveling merchant? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO.
You can currently grab some of the best items in the game completely for free in Diablo Immortal with a bit of luck. The reason for this is a bug in the Shadow War and the Ritual of Banishment. As an apology, there are legendary items, emblems, and gems.
What items are these? During the major Faction War between Shadows and Immortals, a bug occurred this week. Players are currently receiving letters in Diablo Immortal that may contain various rewards. These include:
a selection of normal gems
Candidate keys, which allow you to open chests during the Horadrim trial
Diablo Immortal: What are legendary gems? Facts and locations in 3 minutes
How do I get the items? Open your mailbox in the game and check if you have received mail. The subject line of the respective letter should be “Ritual of Banishment” or “Shadow War Bug.”
According to current information, primarily European servers have been affected by the bug. However, the activity of your clan also seems to be a factor in whether and which rewards you receive.
Some users report that they have not received any legendary emblems or only one letter. If you have no mail, then your clan or server was probably not affected. Otherwise, check your mailbox regularly in the coming days.
Legendary Items due to serious bug in Diablo Immortal
The reason for the compensation is a bug in the Shadow War last week. Some clans were unable to rank up in their table because victories were not counted. The Ritual of Banishment was also correspondingly flawed.
Learn more about the factions and the war in our special:
Still, many players are likely to be happy about the compensations. Because even if you did not actively participate, you will receive a reward as long as your clan participated in the war. And at least the sheer number of players remains enormous:
Are you looking for a little upgrade for gaming or office and don’t want to spend more than 20 euros? We have a recommendation for you that you can buy on Prime Day.
But there are other options, such as a vertical mouse. This will make your everyday life easier in the long run and prevent possible pain. MeinMMO introduces the vertical mouse to you and also gives you a few recommendations, suitable for Prime Day.
This article does not replace a personal conversation with a doctor. If you have health problems from sitting or working, please consult your trusted doctor. You can find extensive health tips at the Federal Ministry of Health (via bundesgesundheitsministerium.de) or in a conversation with your personal family doctor.
With a vertical mouse, you relieve your arm and hand
What is a vertical mouse? A vertical mouse is a mouse for your PC where the buttons are arranged in a vertical plane and therefore at a much steeper angle than on a normal mouse. You grasp the mouse as if you were shaking hands with someone. This is called the handshake grip.
What are the advantages? With a normal mouse for gaming or office, you have to twist your arm if you want to hold the mouse correctly. If you do that all the time, you risk arm and elbow pain. This is referred to as tennis elbow.
If you use a vertical mouse, you do not have to twist your arm and hand. Instead, your hand rests in a natural position on the mouse. This way, you relieve your arm.
Most vertical mice offer you additional buttons in the thumb area and sometimes even RGB lighting. There are both wireless and wired versions.
What are the disadvantages? No major gaming manufacturers like Razer, Roccat, or Corsair have vertical gaming mice in their portfolio. With many vertical mice, you will have to forgo extensive software and current top sensors. Therefore, the mice are only conditionally suitable if you want to play competitively with them.
A minor drawback is also the initial period with such a mouse. The new posture of a vertical mouse takes some getting used to. At least at the beginning, you may find yourself busy getting used to a vertical mouse.
Recommended vertical mice for Prime Day
Which mice are recommended? The first recommendation is the vertical mouse from Anker. This costs just under 20 euros and works via a wireless connection. It is plain and offers no special lighting, but it is a real enhancement for everyday life. A few impressions of the vertical mouse from Anker can be found on MeinMMO.
Oops, unfortunately this affiliate widget is no longer available.
The second recommendation is the Trust Verto. You can also get this for under 20 euros for 17.49 thanks to Prime Day. This mouse is also wireless and works via radio. The mouse feels comfortable in the hand and the workmanship is successful. The only downside: if you have very small hands, you cannot reach the two buttons on the thumb side.

There are several game modes where you can compete against other players:
Melee: Here you kill opponents for points, which increases the bounty on you. The larger the bounty on an opponent, the more points you get for killing them.
War Loot: You steal gold from NPCs and enemies. At the same time, you have to defend your own gold.
Gates of Fire: You need to grab a flag and fly through gates within the game arena. For this, you earn points. Two teams compete against each other here.
Survival: 18 players in 3 teams compete against each other. The team that remains last wins. A limited number of revivals by team members is possible.
Epic aerial battles as dragon riders
How big are the teams? Matches are played in rounds and in teams ranging from 3vs3 to 6vs6vs6 battles.
What classes are there? In the game, players can choose from four different classes. Each has its own abilities and backgrounds. The options are:
Windwatch: They belong to the Skeld army and are meant to protect the largest kingdom on the continent.
Raiders: They are often poachers and ruthless bounty hunters without allegiance to any kingdom. They are good at tracking and hunting their prey.
Phantom: They are supposedly the only heirs of the first orders of dragon guardians. Their strength lies in stealth.
Stormbringer: They are spiritual guardians of the Valkyrian Mountains. They have the gift to command storms.
New classes will be added over time to enhance the gaming experience.
The equipment of the characters can be customized
How can characters be customized? With each level up, players can further customize their characters and dragons. The items for this can be obtained in-game or through the shop.
Dragons can be equipped with skins, back armors, or saddles. For the riders, there are options for armors, cloaks, or weapons.
In battle, “experience” is also gathered, which can in turn be used to hatch new riding dragons.
All paid skins are purely cosmetic and do not give you any advantage in combat.
How successful has Century: Ages of Ashes been on Steam so far? The reviews are largely positive. Both recent (70% positive from 255 reviews) and overall (73% positive from 12,795 reviews) (via steam, as of 12.07.2022).
What is planned for the future of Century: Ages of Ashes? A release is planned not just for the PS4/PS5 and Xbox One platforms. A mobile version of the game is expected to be released in 2022. The game studio is currently working on it.
Once the console launches take place, Century: Ages of Ashes will feature corresponding crossplay and cross-progression. This allows players across all supported platforms to play together, and their data can be transferred from one platform to another.
What do you think of Century: Ages of Ashes? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
In a podcast, the two Lost Ark experts OhBenjiTV and KanonXO discuss the best and worst DPS classes in the game. One class, which is hardly known by players in the West, performs particularly well. We at MeinMMO summarize.
Who speaks in the podcast? It revolves around a conversation that took place in the podcast of Lost Ark content creator KanonXO. He talks with the expert OhBenjiTV.
Kanon himself creates in-depth guides on YouTube for various classes, engages intensively with Lost Ark, and regularly shares his research with over 70,000 subscribers on YouTube.
Benji is also active on YouTube and Twitch, ranking among the biggest names in Lost Ark. He regularly streams for an average of 670 viewers and has gained over 30,000 new followers in the last 6 months. He also dedicates himself to deep class guides on YouTube and has played Lost Ark for over 10,000 hours.
Which class is the best for DPS? During the conversation, Kanon asks what the best class for DPS is in the West. Benji explains that the Scrapper is the class that causes the most real damage. To be precise, he refers to the “Shock-Scrapper”, mentioning a specific build for the class in endgame.
Furthermore, he emphasizes that he is only speaking about real damage here. This means damage that can actually be inflicted on the boss fight against the enemy. If one only hits a dummy that doesn’t move, and one does not have to react, then Sorceress and Berserker are on top, according to Benji.
However, if you take a look at who regularly pulls an MVP in boss fights, i.e., inflicts the most damage in actual fights or contributed the most to the fight, the Scrapper is seen there much more frequently than all other classes.
The newest boss in Lost Ark is Vykas, check her out in our video:
Start video
The legions raids are the most difficult fights in Lost Ark – See the frightening attacks of the demon Vykas
Scrapper benefited enormously from the update
Why is the Scrapper so strong? Benji further explains why the Shock-Scrapper is currently so incredibly strong. He refers to the first major balance update that came to our version in May. In this patch, many classes were changed, but the Scrapper lost all disadvantages. There’s nothing left that could make the class weak, says Benji.
Due to the Shock specialization, you regenerate shock energy automatically. This is the resource you need to activate your green skills. Thus, you don’t have to use as many yellow skills to be able to use the greens.
These green skills are the ones with which the Scrapper can inflict enormous damage. Due to the Shock specialization and the short casting times, there are no challenging elements to hit his skills. According to Benji, a Shock-Scrapper always hits his skills and does not have to exert himself to dodge, as would be the case with a Sorceress. You just have to make sure to attack from behind and not get caught in animations.
How the build works exactly, we explain in the guide:
New update strengthens Scrapper: Before the patch, the Scrapper had to self-buff before his combos to deal 30% more damage for a short time.
This has completely changed now, as the Shock-Scrapper now passively and always deals 24% more damage. The missing 6% can still be obtained through a buff. However, if you don’t maintain this buff continuously, you don’t lose as much as before. This combination makes the build the currently strongest DPS character, Benji is absolutely sure of that.
No one plays the strong class
Where does the Scrapper stand with us? The entire Fighter base class does not have a good standing in the West. Apart from the newly released Lance bearer, the specializations of Fighters are not commonly played.
If you look at the class distribution from June, you can see almost all fighter classes at the bottom. The most popular is still the Dance of War, which manages to be in 11th place out of a total of 17. The Soulfist is played the least. It currently stands at 16th place, and only 2.11% of the characters in the West of Lost Ark are Soulfists.
The Scrapper lies in the middle among the other fighter classes. 3.87% of the characters are Scrappers, which means the class has actually improved compared to May. However, this only qualifies for 12th place in the overall ranking of all classes in the Western version.
The numbers come from Reddit user Drybear, who publishes them every month:

What is the reason for this? It is hard to say. One suspicion is that the Asian-inspired Fighters aren’t as well received in the West as they are in Korea. Lore-wise, the Fighters originate from the continent Anikka, which strongly resembles medieval Asia. The classes and their fighting styles also are oriented towards this theme.
Some fans in the West might simply not resonate with the general tone of the classes. This is also supported by the fact that the Scrapper ranks 8th out of 22 in Korea, performing significantly better than here. Only the Soulfist is as unpopular in Korea as it is here and also holds the second to last position.
What are the worst DPS classes? Continuing in the podcast, the two experts also discuss the currently worst DPS classes. However, Benji refers to the Korean server. There, he says, the praised Lance bearer is among the worst DPS builds currently available.
Also, the Sharpshooter cannot currently compete with other classes. Furthermore, Benji states that he cannot understand why Western players are so excited about the Summoner. For him and host KanonXO, the Sorceress currently ranks among the worst DPS classes in Lost Ark.
What do you think about it? Which class do you currently play, and will you dig up your Scrapper again? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO.
How do you decide whether you will play an MMORPG or not? What features are decisive for you? Tell us.
As living games that continuously evolve, MMORPGs depend more than other games on being actively played by people. New MMOs lure players with a variety of features and gameplay possibilities to capture our attention and ideally keep it.
And we all have different priorities and preferences when it comes to the features of games:
Some want as much PvE content as possible in their MMORPG, while others swear by open-world PvP
Others, in turn, absolutely want non-combat content like housing or crafting
The list could go on almost indefinitely. Each of us will have our own “checklist” by which we decide whether we will at least give an MMORPG a chance or not. What about you? What features are the most important to you in an MMORPG?
We have defined the term “features” somewhat broadly here. It includes not only gameplay elements and content but also aspects like monetization or graphics, which can also be decisive for many.

Diablo Immortal has been criticized by some players. The Pay2Win discussion still lingers over the game, and the meager first update has disappointed in some areas. Nevertheless, the game has received praise – especially from fathers who have little time.
The big problem is that there are loot limits in the game. Without spending money, players quickly encounter hurdles that hinder their progress. However, some players now say: Immortal is really fun if you just don’t try so hard.
Who enjoys Diablo Immortal? A post on reddit is currently the largest in the Diablo Immortal subreddit. It received hundreds of comments within a few hours. Much agreement was especially received for the response from user eeeealmo:
Yep. As a dad of 2 kids under 4 years old, I don’t have those huge blocks of time to play games like I used to. [Diablo Immortal] is exactly what I need, and I love it when I get the chance. It annoys me that so many people hate it.
Several other fathers confirm that Diablo Immortal is a perfect “Dad Game” for those who can no longer spend much time on the PC. The creator agrees, being a father himself, and appreciates Diablo Immortal for that. This, according to many comments, applies to many fathers but also to anyone who simply doesn’t have much free time anymore and can only play occasionally.
Others, however, continue to criticize that the blockages will eventually appear. Sooner or later, one would hit a limit that would hinder progress. Perhaps these will already be resolved with a new update.
A major factor surrounding Pay2Win are the legendary gems, which are hidden behind emblems. These can only be obtained in limited quantities or cost real money. In the video, we explain how the system works:

“Diablo Immortal is great as a Casual”
That’s why playing less is better: Thread creator SonOfAnAsshole represents an “unpopular opinion”. According to his own statement, he has been a hardcore player for some time, focusing on server Paragon.
Server Paragon is a catch-up mechanic for new players. Every day the Paragon increases by 2. If your own Paragon level is below, you receive significantly more experience, up to 450%. If it is above, you receive less experience.
Veteran players are hindered here, but casuals can benefit from it, as he noticed after a longer break: “It feels wonderful to get 350% experience and gain several Paragon in such a short gaming session.”
Some players use the time to try out new classes. In our Tier List for Diablo Immortal, you’ll find the strongest heroes. Here you can see gameplay for all 6 playable classes:

Diablo Immortal: All 6 Classes in Brief Overview with Gameplay
What’s next for Diablo Immortal? After the 1st content update, more content is expected to come in July. One of the major features is the class switching, which is intended to provide more variety.
Further content is still planned for the future, including more story, more items, and new classes. However, it is still unclear when exactly the new content will be released. Diablo Immortal is expected to be supported with free updates for years to come.
However, there will likely be no change in monetization for the time being. The Blizzard CEO himself fully supports the current method of making money with Diablo Immortal:
Jade Dynasty used to be a popular MMORPG in the Asian style. It was released in 2007, and its end came in 2018. Until now. The developers are releasing a sequel next year: World of Jade Dynasty.
In August 2021, the developers Perfect World Games showed the first 4k gameplay of World of Jade Dynasty. However, there was still no information on when the MMORPG would be released in Europe. In China, it will already go online in 2022.
In 2023, after 9 years of development, the sequel will be released: Jade Dynasty as a modern MMORPG. At the same time, Perfect World is working on a mobile MMO titled Jade Dynasty 2.
What kind of game is it? World of Jade Dynasty is a new version of the classic Asian MMORPG that was played for 11 years. Whether there are strong parallels to the original is still unclear. However, we know that it will take place in the same universe.
The graphics, especially the environment, are very detailed and beautiful. Alpha testers compared the game to Swords of Legends, but noted that the graphics of World of Jade Dynasty are more appealing.

What content does it provide?
The MMO focuses on story and PvP but also offers PvE.
An action-packed combat system
There are 4 seasons and a transition between day and night.
An open game world
A few screenshots from the world show how detailed and beautiful the graphics look:
“Beautiful-looking world, but the same old character design”
This is what the community says: Users on reddit celebrate recent screenshots from the game world of World of Jade Dynasty. However, they criticize the character design, stating that it seems rather boring compared to the graphically demanding world.
Additionally, some users reject Perfect World as the publisher and speculate that the game will feature Pay2Win aspects.
b_zar says: “Very beautiful-looking world, but the same old character design.”
mishka_: “The environment is beautiful – the characters (from the little we have seen so far) are terrible.”
Cymrik_ isn’t fond of the developers: “Perfect World … direct Nope.”
sauceDinho says: “As soon as I see high heels on a female character, I know this is not a game for me.”
xBidisword suspects Pay2Win: “Another soulless P2W MMO from the East, I can’t wait.”
Whether the characters will be visually improved before World of Jade Dynasty is released is currently unclear. Likewise, whether it is designed according to a Pay2Win principle. We remain curious and will see next year if the community’s speculations are correct.
What do you think of World of Jade Dynasty? What do you think of Perfect World as a developer and publisher? Will you start playing the game when it comes out next year? Or did the beautiful graphics not convince you? Did you play the old Jade Dynasty back in the day? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO!
Coins, Crown & Cabal is the name of a new MMO developed by the German indie studio Magni Games. The focus is on economy, construction, and politics. According to the team, they drew inspiration from the RTS Frostpunk and the classic The Guild. We from MeinMMO spoke with Christian Brümmer (featured image) from Magni Games.
What is the game about? In Coins, Crown & Cabal, it’s about economy, politics, and intrigue. You build your own settlement, trade with players, and complete quests for the counts. These are NPCs who control parts of the game world.
You start as a small merchant in the settlement. Over time, you repeatedly rise to the position of governor. From then on, you can also visually remodel your settlement.
You complete tasks for your count, which can also be unpleasant. For example, you are supposed to sabotage other players, although that is purely optional. However, those who do not do it may lose favor with their count. This favor is intended to be an important currency.
It is a strategic MMO and is primarily controlled through menus. According to Christian Brümmer, these are supposed to be structured much better and offer fewer fragmented elements than competing games.
All players of Coins, Crown & Cabal are in a shared world. You can explore this world through a 3D map and visit the settlements of other players.
There will be guilds where you play together and tackle larger quests.
Trading will be possible with other players, but also in the settlement itself at markets.
There is not supposed to be a royal road. Every decision you make is supposed to have different consequences.
The game will not be implemented for the browser but in a dedicated client. The release is planned for Steam, Android, and iOS, allowing for cross-platform play. A console version is also not ruled out.
A first insight is provided by this teaser video:

Kreuzer, Krone & Kabale
3 people are developing the new free-to-play MMO, where fans can have a say
Who is behind the game? Magni Games is a German indie studio based in Braunschweig. Currently, three people are working on the MMO, with the idea originating in 2021. In a dev diary, they provided insight behind the scenes (via YouTube).
How does the game get financed? The MMO is set to be released as a free-to-play title and will be financed through cosmetics in a shop. For example, you can buy different designs for buildings or your own crests. Pay-to-win will be avoided.
Artworks for Coins, Crown & Cabal.
When is it supposed to be released? By the end of 2022, there should be a finished prototype that will then be tested with a group of players. They are also looking for an investor or publisher, although Coins, Crown & Cabal is to be completed in any case.
In this regard, the developers are particularly interested in player feedback. They should help decide in which directions the game develops. Christian Brümmer revealed that the positions of the counts could also be taken over by players if they wish.
Are there issues with the international name? Coins, Crown & Cabal can most easily be abbreviated as CCC. However, as this is a problematic abbreviation, especially in the American context, the game is internationally called Coins, Crown & Cabal (CCC).
Our colleagues from GameStar even refer to strategy games as a “German genre” (via GameStar). Accordingly, it is fitting that Coins, Crown & Cabal is being developed by a German studio and, of course, published in German.
Does the idea of the MMO appeal to you? Or can you not relate to the topic of strategy games at all? Feel free to write it in the comments.

In Destiny 2 wish more and more Guardians want the old DLC model back instead of regular seasons. But would a return to the pure DLC model make sense or could that possibly kill the space shooter? MeinMMO wants to know what the German community thinks about it.At the end, vote with your opinion in our survey.
Seasons vs. DLCs – What is the difference? Currently, Destiny 2 offers its players a so-called “Season Pass model.” It was first introduced in 2019 with the DLC “Shadowkeep” when Bungie turned its space shooter into a free-to-play game.
The season model has since mostly tied to the ongoing story content, but does not offer the scope of a full-fledged DLC. However, players receive new items every 3 months, such as weapons, exotics, seasonal armor sets, and cosmetic items.
The contents of a DLC, on the other hand, are extensive. With “The Witch Queen,” not only was a large, engagingly staged campaign added, but also a new area, a 6-player activity, new strikes, and weapon crafting.
In the past, DLC content was somewhat less extensive.
In the meantime, many players see the seasons merely as fillers between the good content. Even the current season of the Haunted could not really excite all players.
On Reddit and Twitter, Guardians are once again discussing whether the return to a pure season model for Destiny 2 might actually be better. Player TheOriginalFluff writes on the discussion on Twitter:
I would rather have one big DLC per year, and that’s it, or two medium-sized ones twice. The only way I have played seasons is to log in, do the weekly story/pinnacle/challenges, and then log out again. It’s boring, man!
Player TheOriginalFluff expresses himself via Twitter
Bungie is already optimizing season pass content: To ensure that a season does not feel the same, the developer has already tried to counteract it.
Season 17 included, for the first time, a patrol area on the Leviathan. However, the area itself was not new, and longtime players were far too familiar with it.
Old dungeons and raids have been adjusted so that they attract players to their activities weekly with top loot.
Especially longtime players want more: Bungie wanted to offer regular content through seasons. But one must also recognize that this model is simply no longer made for hardcore players who want to play Destiny 2 for several hours a day.
Instead, the focus is on the weekly return of players, who then complete their challenges with moderate effort and farm some weapons.
The progress of the seasonal campaign is now time-gated during a season. This means that Guardians can only continue it for a while after the weekly reset. Therefore, no one can experience the end of the story immediately, but one has to keep at it week after week, at least for a while.
The season pass brings new items, weapons, and armors into the game every three months.
This brings Bungie continuous player numbers: Looking at the figures via Steamcharts, Destiny 2 is currently doing quite well with the season model. In the past, you would complete a DLC and then observe how the player numbers of the space shooter rapidly declined. If multiple small DLCs were made, it would be similar.
By the way, have you discovered these Destiny 2 topics yet?
Many longtime players still remember this old DLC model and they have not forgotten how tough the content droughts were back then. So does Guardian Joey Shaffer:
DLCs are crap, seasons are much better. They give me a reason to play every week. These content droughts with the DLCs were tough. I actually stopped playing between the DLCs because I got too bored […] and nothing interesting was happening.
Without seasons, Destiny 2 often “dried out”: In fact, smaller DLCs, like once “Curse of Osiris” or “Warmind,” added interesting content. But that was all.
At that time, well-known hardcore Destiny streamers, like Gladd, were much more active and grinded through the content in a flash. But even though he no longer hangs around in Destiny 2, he certainly seems to have an opinion on this controversial topic:
You are not even ready for my thoughts on Destiny’s content feed model: Seasons vs. DLC
Not everything was great with DLCs either: There were really long droughts of inaction with the old DLC model of Destiny 2. The campaigns were often completed so quickly that there was simply nothing left for Guardians to do. Quests were not time-gated either. If someone didn’t want to go into the Crucible, they simply no longer played Destiny 2. The longevity of the game was virtually nonexistent during that time.
The seasons, on the other hand, should give players the feeling that they are part of an evolving world. Bungie uses this model to advance the game a little bit every three months while still keeping the fate of Destiny’s story in suspense in the long term.
But now we want to know your opinion on the topic: What do you think about the seasonal format? Should Bungie abandon this model and switch to pure DLCs? Or are you in favor of the season pass model? Vote and feel free to leave your opinion in the comments.
