In League of Legends, the Worlds 2022 are taking place in the USA. Yesterday, the first semifinal occurred: The Koreans T1 played against the Chinese team JDG on Saturday, October 29th: The 26-year-old Faker had a moment of brilliance, as seen in a Twitch clip.
Who plays in the clip? The clip shows a match that is still in suspense. Both teams have 14 kills after 25 minutes:
We see the three-time world champion Faker (26) playing Ryze, actually a terribly weak champion, who was significantly buffed before the Worlds.
In the clip, he plays a “one versus one” against the 21-year-old Chinese player “369”, one of the best top-laners in the world on Renekton.
Then the bot lane of JDG, Hope and Missing, rush in.
JDG is the best team in China: They were considered top favorites to win the Worlds 2022. In the quarterfinals, they wiped out the best team in the West, Rogue, with 3-0.
Faker wins one versus one – Against Schnappi, the evil crocodile
This is the clip: In the clip, Faker attacks the wounded top laner 369 on Renekton with Ryze: The crocodile is actually perfectly suited for the 1vs1 in League of Legends: With his passive lifesteal, one can hardly win a duel against Renekton.
The tricks Faker uses to win the 1vs1:
Faker already uses his summoner spell “Ignite” early on to prevent Renekton’s full healing and maximize damage.
At the end of the fight, he uses his Flash to barely escape the kill zone where Renekton would catch him.
But Faker has no time to rest, as JDG’s bot lane is immediately chasing after him and would surely kill Ryze: Faker really has no chance to escape in this situation.

On October 25, the strategy game Victoria 3 was released on Steam. MeinMMO author Schuhmann says: In other games, it’s about killing a dragon with a group of knights. In Victoria 3, it’s all about the gross domestic product and debts. So many debts.
If you grew up like I did, you learned a few things early on: Be respectful to women and elders, don’t eat yellow snow, and don’t get into debt.
From an early age, I was drilled to spend only as much money as one has – never more.
Having debts is hell. It’s actually strictly forbidden. One takes on debt at most once in a lifetime: If one builds a house, then it’s just okay.
But even then, debts only mean stress and torment: Because now you have to toil for years to service the building savings contract, and can only then go on vacation and sleep soundly at night when it’s paid off.
I would never have thought of buying a television or a mobile phone on credit: That’s the sure way to ruin and to Peter Zwegat, I knew.
That’s why it was a strange moment for me when the then finance minister Olaf Scholz announced that he was fighting the Corona pandemic “with the bazooka” by taking on incredibly many debts. The consequences of the energy crisis, he later said as Chancellor, he would tackle with the “double whammy”.
Okay.
The debts would then be repaid by “growing out of debt.” I could never understand what he meant. That changed once I started playing Victoria 3 on Steam.
This is the net new borrowing of Germany – you can see a “moderate” increase in 2020 and 2021.
Conquer the world, build a perfect society, become an economic power
Well, in the new strategy game Victoria 3, it’s all about debt and growth, at least if you choose this path. Victoria 3 gives you the choice at the beginning of how you want to play:
If you want to establish the perfect state, with maximum freedom and equality for every citizen, then play as France
If you want to engulf the world in war, tearing half the globe apart with tanks, play as Germany, that is, Prussia
But if you want to rise to become the greatest economic power on the planet, choose the USA
Become an economic power, seize world domination or build a perfect society?
Playing Victoria 3 as Prussia, is a strange feeling: The game lasts from 1836 to 1936, and anyone who is not completely dull knows why it is morally tricky to play with Germany during this time.
The game with the USA also deals with slavery and the displacement and extermination of the American indigenous peoples, but at least I don’t have to invade France over Alsace-Lorraine.
Essentially, the game with the USA focuses on economic growth: Your goal is to have the largest economy in the world by 1936.
You can, of course, grow calmly and financially healthy …
With the USA, you start small and the world is fine. You have 35 construction units available, meaning you can build two new factories within six months. That’s financially feasible, the numbers stay green, everything is good.
The capitalists in your country even help you keep the budget with investments. Investments are a double-edged sword:
If nothing is built or at least nothing funded by capitalists, money accumulates in an investment pool
When the pool is full, it leads to a deceptive sense of security, because the budget looks good
However, once the pool is empty and the state has to finance everything itself, you are confronted with reality: debt
This is how you start as the USA – wait 23 weeks until the first tool factory is established. But at least you are financially healthy.
You have the choice:
Build 2 factories and then sit idle in front of the monitor for 5 minutes watching the useless gold reserves rise, but there’s hardly any economic growth.
But you can also quickly set up 6 new construction companies and then build 4 factories simultaneously: Thus, grow twice as fast. However, you will incur debt.
You can also set up 12 new construction companies and then build 8 factories simultaneously. However, your budget will show a thick, red minus. Hmm!
MeinMMO author Gerd Schuhmann has been a fan of Paradox strategy games since 2004 and Crusader Kings 1. He has already spent 59 hours in Victoria 3 and was one of the first worldwide to achieve the “economic victory”. At least that’s what the Steam achievements say.
The game as Germany is very different from playing with the USA.
“We’ll just grow out of debt”
Ultimately, playing Victoria 3 with the USA is all about growth and debt. Because the joke is: Debt isn’t that bad as a nation. You hardly notice it. You have to pay it off, but the numbers quickly become so immense that the interest barely matters.
The problem arises when the state of “default” occurs, meaning you are so heavily indebted that the bank no longer grants a loan – all construction projects stop and you have to do something.
Then, actually, only bankruptcy helps: All debts are wiped out, but you have to struggle with severe restrictions for the next 10 years.
The state of “default” occurs in Victoria 3 when the debt exceeds a multiple of the gross domestic product. This means conversely:
The higher the gross domestic product grows, the higher the credit limit grows and the more you can go into debt.

National debt leads to taking the wrong path until the end
This leads to a very strange way of playing, because you actually know that things are going badly and that you are living beyond your means, but now you cannot possibly stop growing further, because then the bank will come:
In the USA, it is common to go completely into debt while building the iron, coal, and steel industry. This forms an economic cycle that indirectly includes tools, engines, and explosives.
This inevitably leads to the need for expensive infrastructure, such as ports, railways, and administration.
This is a vicious circle because you constantly need more mines to keep raw material prices low, so that tools, steel, and engines remain at least somewhat affordable.
You quickly notice: I am doing nothing else but promoting this industry sector. Yet, historically speaking, we know where this focus on coal and steel has led the USA: to the “Rust Belt” and Donald Trump.
But you actually try to grow out of debt by simply doing more and more of what has already led you into crisis: There’s the feeling that I just have to extract more coal to lower the production costs of steel and continue to stimulate growth.
However, it would actually be the right decision to shift the economy to the production of luxury goods or damn it, just grow slower and healthier.
Oops, did I crash the US economy again.
You then realize: Okay, something went wrong here, I am flooding the world with coal and lead. But historically speaking, I should actually be inventing Coca-Cola and building Hollywood – Where’s the switch for that?
But you also can’t stop now, because then the gross domestic product would stagnate, which has to grow, so that the credit limit continues to rise, which you are fully utilizing.
The glorious, brief moment when the budget turns green again
Victoria 3 reflects historical reality, and between 1836 and 1936 there were always inventions that significantly boosted production. So it is in Victoria 3 as well:
At some point, the promise of technological progress appears on the horizon: Suddenly you are working in the mines with nitroglycerin and dynamite, on the fields with fertilizers, and eventually even with tractors and electricity.
All of these are points where the output of factories, fields, and mines suddenly makes a huge leap, and for a tiny moment, you have a green budget again:
Now would actually be the moment to lean back, reduce the debt, and maybe moderately expand the economy, take care of other industrial fields, perhaps build a few universities or open a new IKEA
Or … you establish even more construction companies and coal mines. I’ll just grow out of debt!
While playing Victoria, I felt that I understood the current political debates better:
Like Christian Linder, I also hoped for “technical progress” that would suddenly solve the misery I had maneuvered into
Like Olaf Scholz, I saw debt as not a big problem: As long as the gross domestic product rises, you actually grow out of it in Victoria 3
Only for Robert Habeck did I not gain any additional understanding while playing Victoria 3. The game has nothing to do with environmental protection and climate crisis: I don’t even want to know what it would be like to live in my “USA” – with all the coal power plants and without Hollywood, universities, and Coca-Cola
In Victoria 3, everything revolves around the economy, while in Crusader Kings 3 it’s about heirs:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 offers a wide range of weapons that players can unlock and use in combat. However, one of them has particularly caught the soldiers’ attention. The MP5 variant from MW2 – Lachmann-MP. We show you how to get it and which setup suits it.
How do I unlock the MP5? The infamous MP5 also exists in MW2, but it is known there under the name “Lachmann-MP”.
It cannot be unlocked at the very beginning but must be unlocked at the Gunsmith 2.0 via the “Lachmann & Meer platform”. To get a better overview of its unlock requirements, you can proceed as follows:
Go to your weapons in the menu
Select a loadout and then go to your primary weapon
Press “Switch” and select the category assault rifles
There is the “Lachmann-762”, now click on the corresponding platform
You should then see a detailed representation of the necessary unlocks.
Here’s how to unlock the Lachmann-MP (MP5)
To unlock the MP5, you need to reach rank 16 with your account level. Only then will you gain access to the Lachmann-762 – a semi-automatic assault rifle.
If you have obtained the assault rifle from the Lachmann factory, you need to level the 762 model to level 13. Then you unlock the Lachmann-556 – an assault rifle. The 556 model must then be leveled to level 12. Once that is done, the Lachmann-MP will be automatically unlocked.

In New World, there are three different factions. At level 10, you need to choose one, but you can switch later. We at MeinMMO reveal how to switch factions, how often you can do it, and what consequences such a change has.
How do I switch factions?
Open the character overview with “K”.
Open the “Biography”.
There, you can click a button labeled “Faction Switch” in the bottom left.
Then you will be shown the other two factions. However, you cannot switch to the faction that currently controls the most territories.
To switch factions, you also need to leave your company. A company can only include members of one faction.
How often can I switch factions? After a faction switch, you must wait 120 days before you can switch again.
You lose all progress and have to farm reputation again
What are the consequences of switching? There are several. First, you will now be fighting for a different faction when it comes to the wars over territories. Your former friends and guildmates can attack you in the open world and may even face you as enemies in wars. However, you can circumvent this problem if you switch with the entire company.
Additionally, your earned reputation will be completely lost. Each faction has different ranks, to which rewards are tied. Those who reach the highest rank in a faction can purchase Gypsum Orbs and items with the tokens.
In the new faction, you start from scratch again and have to grind reputation and tokens anew, completing quests to rise through the ranks.

The release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 didn’t go quite smoothly. This is particularly felt on Steam. After nearly 16,000 reviews, the CoD shooter lands with a meager 60% approval – “Balanced”. We’ll show you what’s happening on Steam at MeinMMO.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is on the market and simultaneously back on Steam. World War II (2017) was the last CoD that celebrated its release on Steam, after which the franchise temporarily disappeared from the platform.
If you look at some of the reviews on Steam for the new CoD MW2, you’d think some players wouldn’t mind if it hadn’t appeared on the platform. Because they are at times devastating to downright malicious.

CoD Modern Warfare 2: Important changes explained quickly – With gameplay
How are the ratings on Steam? At the time of the article, there are 15,806 reviews in the guestbook of MW2 on Stream. 60% of them are positive, which leads to a “Balanced” on Steam.
Although most of the reviews are positive, a score of 60% is already considered rather poor. Battlefield 2042 fared much worse back then. So far, MW2 has reached nearly 250,000 players at the same time.
What do players like? Among the positive reviews, there is a lot of praise for the campaign of Modern Warfare 2. The graphics are praised, the almost photo-realistic environment in Amsterdam is often mentioned.
But the story and the overall structure of the campaign are well received too. Thanks to the generous early access, the story could be played 8 days before the official release – this left a positive impression on many players, which they like to share in their reviews.
One exciting review was from the user “PSycho” (via steam.com). The user writes that it was his very first full-price game and that just for the campaign it was worth it: “Haven’t really played through a single-player in a long time, but this one hooked me!”.
However, if you take a look at the negative reviews, it quickly becomes clear which way the wind is blowing – because as good as the campaign is received, the comments on the multiplayer on Steam are abysmal.
Why are so many players complaining? The release of the multiplayer was particularly poor for team players. As soon as you sat with 3 or more players in a lobby, Modern Warfare 2 became extremely unstable.
The reports describe that often at least one teammate from the group drops out and thus does not participate in the match. In addition, there seem to be constant crashes and freezes during the game search.
There are some statements like the one from user TTV:ray6696 (via steam.com): “I won’t recommend it as long as you can’t play with 4 in a party without at least one crashing out”.
Especially the stability issues are a major concern for players. Again and again it is read that the game crashes when playing in a party. One user simply calls MW2 “Crash Simulator 2022”.
In gameplay-relevant topics, it’s relatively balanced – the focus of negative reviews is clearly on the state shortly after release.
Are the developers working on it? Yes. A few hours after the release, the developers confirmed that there is a problem with game crashes related to player parties.

What does the gameplay look like in Night of the Dead? In Night of the Dead, you can expect a mix of survival and crafting.
You take care of building and upgrading your base. You can also craft various items and equipment.
You can gather materials while exploring the island by chopping down trees, mining stones, and searching for artifacts and weapons. You obtain food by farming or hunting.
However, the island is full of zombies. You must always be on guard against potential dangers while exploring and defend your base against zombie hordes.
You can play Night of the Dead either solo or together with others in co-op mode.
What do players say about Night of the Dead? Of the total 6,456 reviews, 81% are positive. Thus, the game is rated very well on Steam (as of October 29, 2022, via Steam).
In the comments, players particularly praise the gameplay. User bobisworking wrote in his review: ‘Many improvements since I last played. This game keeps getting better. Zombies, crafting, bears!’

In the Steam hit “Disney Dreamlight Valley”, players can earn the in-game currency “Moonstones” – but currently cannot purchase them. Users on reddit are despairing about this and wish for the option to acquire the rare stones through microtransactions.

Moonstones must currently be earned
What is the problem? “Moonstones” represent the in-game currency of Disney Dreamlight Valley. They can be obtained through quests in the game or by leveling up in the “Star Path” battle pass.
However, players cannot currently purchase moonstones – many users on reddit are not happy about this at all. Many currently desire the option for microtransactions in the game to acquire the rare stones.

MeinMMO spoke with the development team at Respawn about the new legend “Catalyst” in Apex Legends. We discussed her development process, her abilities, and we asked the developers about the best strategies in gameplay.
On November 1, the new season “Eclipse” begins in Apex Legends. As part of this, the new defensive legend Catalyst, whose full name is Tressa Crystal Smith, will be introduced. She is also the first trans woman to compete in the Apex Games.

Ashley Reed: I would describe her as a kind of big sister. She lets nobody dictate to her. She doesn’t really have patience for someone who isn’t doing what they should be doing.
But she is caring when you get to know her. She cares a lot about the people close to her. She looks after her group, makes sure they are doing well, but she doesn’t do it in a very nice way. She admonishes them like this: “What are you doing?! Stop it!” Kind of like: “Don’t get yourself into trouble.”
She can be introverted, a bit reserved. She is definitely home more often, sitting in a room, drinking tea, and watching TV series, but she has a goal here: She participates in the Apex Games to earn money for her family, which had to move because of the Apex Games.

Her ultimate ability gives her a new focus that other characters sometimes lack, which is really good, and this wall gives her the ability to control the space in a much larger and extended way.

MeinMMO: And if I am now on the opposing side and Catalyst uses her abilities, are there any tricks or legends that are particularly good at overcoming her abilities?
Chris Winder: The wall has a specific shape. It is long, it is high to a certain degree and then it stops. Legends that can gain height in any way, like a Horizon or a Pathfinder, could jump over the wall – although you don’t really know what’s on the other side of the wall. So you might not want to put yourself in that situation at all. However, such a situation has never stopped a Pathfinder or Octane.
But such legends can deal with it. You can also shoot at the spikes and sort of carve a way over there when you need to break through to that space.
A Maggie is generally a good character for breakthrough, able to throw the ball and interrupt situations, pushing a team out of a space it is trying to control.

At launch, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 offers a total of 10 6vs6 maps. One of these maps was downright condemned at release. However, it managed to quickly sneak into the hearts of the players.
Which map is it? It’s the map “Santa Sena Boarding Crossing”. It refers to a highway section in Mexico – parts of the campaign take place in the North American country.
