So Riot Games intervened. The bug is apparently so severe that they had to completely remove the character before Riot Games found a solution to the problem. The next patch will come on December 7th. By then, the bug should be fixed, if not sooner.
In the last patch, only two champions were adjusted and it changed their player experience. We are curious to see what the next patch will bring for the preseason.
How is the community reacting? The players in the game don’t seem to like the bug in their ranked matches, while the rest of the community has been greatly amused by it. On Reddit, users are writing:

In Destiny 2, players can now grind for a good cause in the loot shooter. Bungie has initiated a new community event where you can help improve the Fallen’s hideout. We show you the rewards of the event, what you need to do, and whether it is worth it.
What kind of event is this? Bungie started a community event during the Weekly Reset, where players from the entire community can help. The goal this time is to assist the Fallen in the last city and finance them with Captain’s Coins.
Guardians collect this special currency in their daily excursions and then hand it over at the donation chest at the Tower. The goal is to break the mark and donate a total of 400,000,000 coins. What do I have to do? Basically, you just have to hand in Captain’s Coins at the Tower. According to Aztecross, you can receive them in the following activities:
Lost Sectors (difficulty doesn’t matter) – 14 coins
Note that the bug with the activities has been fixed and you can now also collect coins in Gambit, Crucible, and Vanguard (via. Twitter)
How do I get coins the fastest? If you have a fast raid group, you can earn the checkpoint from the Sisters and Oryx and run it repeatedly until you have the necessary coins. This is also a way to farm conquest loot, which you can then redeem in the rework of the Deep Stone Crypt weapons.
If you are not playing a raid, you can farm the lost sector “Atrium” in the EDZ. Here, you can quickly run to the boss, defeat him, and open the chest with the coins in under 1 minute.
What rewards are there? However, the event does not leave you empty-handed. You will receive materials, loot chests, and two cosmetic items:

Is the grind worth it? The grind is especially worth it because of the gift boxes. When the fourth community goal has been reached, players can purchase the Eliksni Quarter Giftboxes at the donation chest. These give you a chance for Deep Sight resonance weapons, Eververse engrams, Glimmer dust, and Glimmer.
So if you still need Glimmer dust or a weapon crafting plan for your forge, the grind is definitely worth it for the chests. Other than that, the event only offers the Ghost shell and the emblem. These are likely time-exclusive and can only be obtained now during the community event. So if you’re a collector, you should grind as well.
However, be aware that the grind is laborious. If you only want to farm with the lost sectors, you will have to run the sector 185 times to defeat the boss for 2,400 coins. This is not only tiring but also time-consuming.
