Corsair M75 Air aims to be the “ultimate” gaming mouse for shooters – How good is it in everyday use really?

Corsair has introduced a new wireless mouse for shooters with the M75 Air. The mouse aims to impress with a simple design and weighs only 60 grams. Whether it succeeds is explained by MeinMMO editor Benedikt Schlotmann in his review.

If you prefer playing shooters on PC, you typically look for a mouse with few buttons and low weight. With the M75 Air, Corsair has introduced a wireless gaming mouse for shooter players. Corsair confidently calls the mouse “the ultimate gaming mouse for demanding FPS games.”

However, with the Viper V2 Pro and Logitech G Pro X Superlight, there is already strong competition. In my review, I looked at how Corsair’s new mouse performs and whether it can keep up with the competition.

Who tested it?

I am Benedikt, and I have a passion for gaming mice, owning over 20 gaming mice and a good dozen keyboards privately. Since 2019, I have been testing hardware for our readers at MeinMMO. Mice are among my favorites, along with gaming headsets and keyboards, when it comes to peripherals for PC and console. Nowadays, I am also on the go with the PS5 and the Steam Deck.

Corsair provided me with the M75 Air for testing.

Scope of delivery, design and build

What does the scope of delivery look like? The mouse is delivered with a USB dongle for the wireless connection and a 1.8-meter USB-C cable. Also included is the mandatory manual.

How is the mouse built? The mouse has a symmetrical shape without being ambidextrous. Therefore, it does not include ergonomic features like a thumb rest or a notch:

  • On the top of the mouse, the main buttons are located, with the mouse wheel in between. There is no additional switch to change DPI or profiles.
  • On the bottom, there is a switch to turn it on and off, and you can also store the mouse’s dongle inside.
  • On the thumb side, there are two additional buttons that you can assign via the software.

You can’t really turn off the mouse completely; it only goes into a sort of deep sleep mode. As soon as you click and the mouse recognizes the connected dongle, it becomes active again. I couldn’t find out how this affects battery life.

The mouse can be used via cable as well as through a wireless adapter.

Corsair M75 Air scope of delivery

Processing

The mouse’s housing feels high-quality and sturdy. The surface is rough but offers sufficient tactility. The USB dongle can be securely stored in the body of the mouse without coming loose.

The mouse wheel makes strange creaking noises when turning, which I do not like particularly in everyday use. However, Corsair explained to me that I received a very early sample for the test. It may well be that models available in stores do not have this problem.

Software

The M75 Air uses Corsair’s software suite “iCue.” The software recognizes the mouse immediately without major issues. During the initial setup of the mouse, a tutorial guides you through the settings. This is convenient, but you can also turn it off. If you regularly use Corsair products, you won’t need the tutorial.

It is annoying that the battery life of the mouse is not given in percentage but only through a colorful battery symbol that decreases. This is not very informative. At least you can show the battery level indicator in the taskbar under Windows. However, I can’t keep an eye on that in-game.

It’s also unfortunate that only a single profile can be saved and taken with you in the internal memory.

On the next page, you’ll read everything about weight, ergonomics, and battery life. In the final conclusion, you’ll find out whether Corsair’s mouse is really recommended.

Lords of the Fallen is finally the competition to Dark Souls that I have been waiting for 10 years

Lords of the Fallen will be released soon, along with a new Souls game that many fans of the genre can dive into. MeinMMO author Christos Tsogos was able to play the game before its release and says it was outstanding.

Who is writing here? My name is Christos, I have been passionately playing Souls games since the release of Dark Souls and have spent thousands of hours in various FromSoftware and other Souls games. Therefore, I was allowed to take a look at Lords of the Fallen before the release and examine the game from many perspectives with an experienced eye.

I will now take you into the world of Mournstead, explain what makes Lords of the Fallen so good, and also show you one thing that unfortunately does not work so well. I will try to keep the entire review as spoiler-free as possible, but if you are very allergic to spoilers, you should not read any further from now on. So let’s get started!

Lords of the Fallen is based on inspiration and its own style

First of all: Forget the title from 2014. The new installment has nothing to do with its older self, except for the story that takes place 1000 years after the events of the first part. You are playing a completely new game here with a detailed character creator, a collection of 13 classes (4 of which are secret), countless weapons and armors, as well as bosses.

Start video
The Lords of the Fallen – Gameplay Trailer

The game also includes a useful tutorial that teaches the essential things for combat and exploration. You start as a nobody who randomly gets thrown the lamp of the Umbral world. You are blessed by a priest and can then start your journey – the most important and coolest feature is indeed the crossing of dimensions.

At first, I thought it would annoy me to have to use the stupid thing to progress, but I was mistaken. The lamp gives your exploration an immersive depth that I have never experienced in any Souls game.

Every new place I found was thoroughly explored and searched for secrets. There are also crazy beings that you just have to see.

As a long-time player of the Souls genre, what fascinated me the most was how the developers managed to make the game feel so familiar yet new. The game feels like a mix of Dark Souls, Blasphemous, and Bloodborne, with a touch of cosmic horror.

You can clearly see the strong inspiration from older Souls titles, but the developers define these elements in a way that makes them feel fresh. The combat and bonfire system are familiar, but Hexworks adds new features. Depending on the weapons you have equipped, new combos arise in combat. Bonfires can even be set in certain places to have your own checkpoints. That is cool and feels refreshing.

There is a story, but you will have to find it

Keyword: story. There is one, and it is told in cinematics as well as by NPCs, but you have to find most of it yourself, as in almost all Souls games.

In Dark Souls or Elden Ring, countless items served as messengers of the story, and it is the same in Lords of the Fallen.

However, there is a catch, and that is your skills. The higher your “Radiance” and “Inferno” values are, the more you will learn from the items you can find on your journeys. Before that, you only get a short description of the items that says, “Improve your Radiance/ Inferno to gain more insight.”

LotF-Item-Story
My character is still ignorant, but that can be fixed with the right skill build

I didn’t understand this at first, but gradually I became aware of it. Story-wise, it makes sense that my character needs higher values in the individual attributes to understand and “read” heretical or holy items. Personally, I found this to be an immersive plus point that motivated me to strengthen my character to learn more.

Additionally, tragic stories of past lamp bearers are told at the “bonfires,” the save points of Lords of the Fallen.

If that is not enough for you, the many Umbral Stigmata shed more light on the darkness. These are shadow-like remnants of past individuals that you can interact with using your lamp. They play a short scene and recount past events.

And although Lords of the Fallen is a strong game, I also have to point out a significant downside that often annoyed me in the game – and I mean really.

Performance is poor and some graphical issues are present

I played Lords of the Fallen on my PS5. I thought that would be enough and my console could maintain 60 FPS, but that was not the case. In almost every boss fight, my FPS plummeted to what felt like 20 frames (per second). That is not only annoying for the eyes but has cost me one or another death.

I have nothing against poor performance, but especially in such games, performance is crucial. Low FPS can decide victory or defeat. It is even more annoying when you are stuck on a boss for 3 hours just because of this. Additionally, there are some graphical errors in the world, but they are not so severe that they are bothersome.

I hope that these are just bugs that will be fixed with the upcoming patch. Until then, I will still play Lords of the Fallen to the end and treat myself to the platinum trophy.

Conclusion: Lords of the Fallen is a strong game that every Souls fan should check out. It takes what’s familiar in the genre and shapes it into something innovative that has not been seen before. Additionally, the cross-play from console to PC (unfortunately not console to console) offers a great opportunity to explore the game with friends and even duel with them. For this reason, I see Lords of the Fallen as a direct competitor to Dark Souls that hopefully can establish itself in the future.

What do you think of Lords of the Fallen? Will you play the game or do you prefer to stay loyal to Dark Souls or Elden Ring? Let us know in the comments!

Anime are having less and less story – but instead more and more waifu

The world of anime is changing. A story is becoming less important, while characters are gaining significance. Even some of the biggest anime creators see it this way.

While anime series used to often be action series aimed primarily at children or young men, the world of anime has become significantly more colorful and diverse over the last few decades. Nowadays, even niche genres like Yuri are getting more series, and in the isekai genre, there are now so many representatives that even hardcore fans can barely keep up with the series.

However, there is another change noticeable in the anime sector: The story of a series is increasingly taking a backseat, while something else takes its place: waifus.

It is much more common for the focal point of an anime to not be the progression of the story or the plot, but simply the depiction of an attractive young woman who is practically the perfect “waifu material.” This is not just an observation from fans but is also seen that way by well-known producers in the anime sector.

Here are some good anime on Netflix for you:

Start video
3 fantastic anime series that you can watch on Netflix

Who is claiming this? This observation was made by Toshio Suzuki (former CEO of Studio Ghibli), Gen Urobuchi (screenwriter of Psycho-Pass and Maho Shojo Madoka Magica), and director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, Avalon – Play for Your Life) during a conversation (via yaraon-blog.com).

Oshii said: “In the last 15 years, the ‘story’ has disappeared from fantasy. Nowadays, no one wants to write a story anymore. No one needs that. Neither in anime nor in film.”

Urobuchi confirms this perception: “I suddenly had to focus more on the characters than on the story.”

Oshii says something more drastic about this:

Nowadays, I feel like I’m watching anime, but where is the story? There is a plot, but there is no story with a beginning and an end. (…)

Recently, anime fans have been attracted to the characters and want to stay connected with them.”

According to Oshii’s perception, this is also a wish of the fans. The longing for a coherent story with a beginning and an end is decreasing; many prefer to spend time with beloved characters they enjoy. This, in turn, also leads to creators of these series (both manga and anime) developing their characters less frequently or even parting with them. Everything basically has to stand still to ensure that the beloved character remains just that.

Anime My Dress Up Darling Marin Smile 1920x1080
Lovely waifus instead of a progressing story. Marin from “My Dress-Up Darling” is just such a case.

An example of this is the character “Hatsune Miku.” She “took the world by storm without a story behind her.” When this happened, Oshii felt a “professional fear as a screenwriter.”

Meanwhile, this is even influencing how he has to write stories:

I would like to end stories by making characters happy, making them suffer or letting them die. But that is increasingly being denied to me. Everyone is starting to be afraid of it. (…)

In the past, I was afraid that things couldn’t end. Now, I am afraid that things could end.

Can this be substantiated? If you look at the anime of recent months and years, it can definitely be observed that more and more series are appearing that put an attractive and lovable lady at the focus of the plot as their “selling point”. Some prominent examples from the last seasons:

  • My Dress-Up Darling
  • Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro
  • Komi Can’t Communicate
  • Tomo-Chan Is a Girl!
  • A Couple of Cuckoos
  • Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie
  • My One-Hit Kill Sister
  • And You Thought There Never Is a Girl Online?

None of the above series is inherently bad because of this. After all, even series that primarily revolve around a “waifu” can still be very successful and appealing – especially “My Dress-Up Darling” was quite popular and had many beautiful moments.

However, a departure from a clear story, with a beginning and an end, can be observed in more and more works.

What do you think about this development? Do you share these observations? Or do you find it acceptable as long as there are at least a few series with a good story and a beginning and an end?

We’ve explained why your favorite anime isn’t getting a second season.

Destiny 2 players receive financial compensation because Bungie banned them unjustly

As it has now been revealed, Destiny 2 has confirmed that it wrongly banned some players from the loot shooter. Meanwhile, these bans have been lifted, and not only did they apologize, but they also provided the affected players with appropriate compensation.

Here’s why players were wrongly banned: In a recently disclosed incident, Bungie wrongly banned a small number of players who participated in the loot shooter’s PvP.

  • The reason for the bans in Destiny 2 was likely to combat cheaters and players who violated the game rules.
  • Unfortunately, innocent players were also affected.

The developer revealed that “this detection can be triggered in extremely rare cases for reasons that are not the player’s fault“.

Start video
Everything you need to know about Destiny 2 – in 2 minutes

€49.99 in in-game currency as compensation

Here’s how they apologized to the players: In an email, which was made public on Twitter/X by Tom Warren, Bungie personally reached out to the affected players and informed them of their official unban and rehabilitation.

The exact number of players affected is not known. However, Bungie refers to “a small number.”

For these players, there was compensation of 5000 Silver, the in-game currency of Destiny 2. This currently corresponds to a cash value of €49.99 and can be used for purchases in Destiny 2’s cosmetic shop, the Eververse, which includes buying dungeons and season passes.

In the email, Bungie writes:

Your Destiny 2 account has been immediately unlocked, and within a week we will grant you 5,000 Silver for use in the Eververse. We sincerely apologize for what must have undoubtedly been a frustrating experience.

Bungie writes in an email to wrongfully banned players

Here’s how they explained the unjustified ban: Bungie also apologized in the email for the unjust ban to those affected and explained that some accounts were mistakenly flagged as causing issues with the game client functionality.

A spokesperson from Bungie also commented on the incident, stating to Kotaku that “this issue was limited to a specific wave of bans, and [Bungie] has made changes to the review process to ensure that this issue does not happen again.

cheater-Destiny-2-duell
In Destiny 2’s PvP, you often face cheaters

What does the community say about this? Those still affected by a ban are less impressed. It is also difficult for banned players to pinpoint exactly why they were banned.

In fact, cheating is not always the reason for a ban or suspension. In Destiny 2, even thoughtless use of third-party software can lead to a ban. Or if one frequently leaves PvP and Gambit matches prematurely.

Therefore, some players criticize Bungie for the lack of transparency in its appeal processes following a ban, and that one often never really finds out what they did wrong.

On the other hand, Destiny 2 is indeed in a tough battle against cheaters.

Unfortunately, errors can also occur. However, some players appreciated that the compensation now takes responsibility for such errors and actively tries to restore the trust of wrongfully banned players.

What do you think of Bungie’s email and especially the amount of compensation? Would that be an appropriate amount for you if you were wrongfully banned from the game? And has this happened to you before? Then feel free to write your answer and experiences directly in the comments.

However, it’s not just cheaters who ruin the game: Destiny 2 brings an important nerf for PvP, but players fear it will also “ruin” PvE

New game from the strategy geniuses in Sweden cost 28 million euros, yet is for the publisher “a big disappointment”

The Swedish publisher Paradox Interactive is known as the developer of great strategy games. However, with their latest project, the strategy geniuses have to take a defeat. The Lamplighters League has only been available for a week, but the publisher already knows it won’t cover the production costs.

What is The Lamplighters League?

  • You form a team of several outsiders and outlaws to take on nasty henchmen
  • The fun begins even before the actual round: We can sneak around with the characters, perfectly position them, and kill enemies in advance
  • The game world is inspired by the 1930s and leads to deserts, jungles, and shipyards

The game has a positive rating of 73 percent on Steam. Fans are thrilled by the setting and visuals, and the game is fun thanks to its tactical XCOM style. Also, on Metacritic the title can settle at a score of 75 points.

MeinMMO author Schuhmann also believes that despite its weaknesses, the game should be tried in the Game Pass.

Despite the rather positive rating, The Lamplighters League is a financial disaster for the publisher. In a statement Paradox Interactive announced that it made a revenue forecast and found that the costs of around 28 million euros cannot be recouped.

The impact on the profit for the fourth quarter is estimated at -21.5 million euros. This means that the profit generated in the fourth quarter will be reduced by 21.5 million euros. Paradox states that this would be a “great disappointment.”

The Lamplighters League looked promising in initial images:

Start video
The Lamplighters League shows the gameplay in the trailer

Paradox sees the reason for the failure there

Why did The Lamplighters League fail? According to Paradox Interactive, the game had many strengths and was able to achieve a “positive player count.” However, this only applied to free subscription services, as the title was included in the Game Pass.

The “commercial reception” was too weak, which means not enough copies could be sold. Paradox admits that game projects are inherently risky, but at the end of the day, the team “did not deliver the performance it should have”:

That’s painful, but it makes us even more eager to roll up our sleeves and get better.

Fredrik Wester, CEO at Paradox Interactive

Paradox Interactive is therefore confident that the weak sales figures will not be a setback for the company but will strengthen it instead.

It was already evident beforehand that the title was not marketed optimally. Paradox tried to promote The Lamplighters League via Twitch. However, the gameplay is not suitable for streaming on Twitch due to its long rounds.

This only created a short hype, but in the long run, this type of advertising was not worthwhile.

Paradox Interactive has several irons in the fire with which they could recoup the costs. These include Life By You, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, and Cities: Skylines II.

Life By You is considered a direct competitor to The Sims and appears very promising at first glance: New game on Steam will be Sims for adults – but with nudity, as it comes from Europe

Designer of Baldur’s Gate reveals which RPG classic inspired him and made his characters look ‘like cardboard cutouts’

One reason why Baldur’s Gate 3 is so popular is the great characters. However, it was a long journey to get there. Some of the characters come from previous installments, which were adopted largely due to their special popularity among fans. In an interview, designer James Ohlen reveals which games inspired him in his work.

Who is James Ohlen?

  • In his early career, the Canadian led two D&D campaigns alongside a comic book store.
  • He was then recruited by the founders of the game development company BioWare and worked there for 22 years as Creative Director.
  • There, he was responsible as Lead Designer for the first two parts of the “Baldur’s Gate” games.
  • He was also significantly involved in games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Dragon Age: Origins, and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

You can find out more about Baldur’s Gate 3 here:

Middle finger to the AAA industry: Baldur’s Gate 3 was no coincidence

“I am very competitive”

In an interview with “Rock Paper Shotgun”, Ohlen states that the team behind Baldur’s Gate 2 was heavily inspired by the character Cloud and his gang from Final Fantasy VII.

This is Final Fantasy VII:
The role-playing classic was released in 1997 and revolutionized the genre through the combination of profound story, innovative battle system, and previously unparalleled graphics.
The story revolves around the seemingly cold-hearted mercenary Cloud, who gets involved in political intrigues, personal dramas, and philosophical themes.

How did this happen? During a smoke break, a colleague explained that the characters in Baldur’s Gate were not nearly as well developed as those in Final Fantasy VII.

“I am very competitive,” Ohlen explains. Therefore, he started playing Final Fantasy VII himself and concluded: “Oh my God, these characters make ours look like a bunch of cardboard cutouts. That’s terrible.”

This led the team at BioWare to work twice as hard to create unforgettable characters. They also revised existing characters and gave them deeper backstories in Baldur’s Gate 2.

For example, Jaheira – with her grumpy yet protective nature and her tragic backstory – became the beloved companion she is today.

It is no wonder that to this day, particularly memorable and beloved characters are repeatedly adopted. For instance, the companions Jaheira and Minsc with his space hamster Boo from the predecessors have returned in the latest installment, Baldur’s Gate 3.

The fans’ love for the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 shows that the excursion to Final Fantasy VII was definitely worth it.

Aside from a great personality and interesting backstory, companion Jaheira can also impress with further small details.

More about this can be found here on MeinMMO:

Players in Baldur’s Gate 3 celebrate small details: “Finally an old woman who actually looks like one”

Overwatch 2 will 40 € for a single skin – even if that’s not true

For the latest skin in Overwatch 2, you have to pay 40 €. Is the skin worth it? And why is the community so angry?

Season 7 of Overwatch 2 has just started. Fitting for October, the whole game now has a Halloween look, and the horror this time is strongly inspired by Diablo IV.

Already the trailer showed some interesting skins for popular characters – but no skin attracted as much attention as the “Lilith” skin for Moira. This transforms the popular support character into Lilith from Diablo IV – along with some new voicelines.

Start video
Overwatch 2 Season 7 Trailer

This is how the community reacts: However, there is an outcry within the community. Because anyone who wants to have Moira’s Lilith skin has to pay 40 €. The Lilith skin is part of a hefty bundle that also includes two other skins and plenty of other stuff, including the Battle Pass and enough in-game currency to buy two additional Battle Passes.

That the community is not very enthusiastic is evident both in the official forum and on the Overwatch subreddit and on Twitter. Just a few impressions:

What is actually in the bundle? If you take a closer look at the bundle, it is, given the other prices in the shop, a pretty good deal. Before you tear me apart, calculate that:

Let’s leave out all the “small stuff”, like the 20 Battle Pass skips, spray logos, and highlight intros. That is just filler material and nobody really cares about it.

You then have the Battle Pass for the current season (10 €) and 2,000 Overwatch coins (20 €) – so already 30 € in value. For regular players, that is definitely worth considering, as with the 2,000 Overwatch coins you can buy the next two Battle Passes as well. These 30 € would be spent anyway by an active player who buys the Battle Pass every season.

So there are the “additional” 10 €, for which you then get 3 skins:

  • The legendary “Lilith” skin for Moira.
  • The legendary “Inarius” skin for Pharah.
  • The epic “Pumpkin” skin for Bastion.
Overwatch Season 7 Bundle
They want 40 € from you – is the bundle really worth it?

Anyone who actively plays and plans to continue doing so gets at least two really detailed skins with their own voicelines and a cool Diablo look for “10 € extra”. For all who already know that they want to play for at least 2 more Battle Passes in the future, this is a solid offer.

Or to summarize: Anyone who actively plays and buys the Battle Pass every month and likes playing Moira or Pharah has a pretty solid deal here.

I don’t want to defend the whole system at all. That the skin can only be obtained from the bundle is a disappointment that I can fully understand. Because no matter how you turn it – if you want this skin, you have to pay 40 € or hope that it will eventually be available individually in the shop.

I’m also aware that Blizzard has consciously marketed this as a “carrot in front of the nose”. The Lilith skin was promoted in the trailer, and making it available only through the most expensive bundle is a deliberate decision to get more money.

Is that greedy?
Definitely.

Is it really as bad as people are making it right now?
I don’t think so.

Ultimately, this is about a single skin in a game where you only see your characters’ hands 99 % of the time anyway.

Overwatch Moira Lilith Highlight Intro 1920x1080

When you think about it rationally, it is of course “insane” to spend 40 € on cosmetic stuff. With that money, you could also grab 1-2 smaller, good games on Steam.

It’s a shame that the (subjectively) best skin of the season is behind a 40 € paywall. But to put it casually: Didn’t you all expect this anyway? This is how most Free2Play games work nowadays, and from this perspective, you have to consider Overwatch 2 as well.

It doesn’t make it any better, of course. But at least it’s more understandable.

Someone at Blizzard must have calculated that they will make more money by selling the skin in a 40 € bundle instead of offering it individually for 10 €, 15 €, or 20 € in the shop.

I mean, this has become commonplace in gaming. Because where do premium skins, the really special outfits or pre-order mounts usually go in games? In the most expensive bundle available. Then you pay 20-40 € on top of the base price of the game “just to have the cool skin”. It’s no different here – except that the base game is Free2Play.

If you don’t like this: Vote with your wallets. Don’t buy it. Then the skin will surely land as an individual offer in the shop sooner or later.

The whole skin topic causes Overwatch 2 – once again – to start a new season with a negative connotation. And this, despite the fact that the game is actually doing a lot of things right right now. Because the new map, the Sombra rework, and the new event mode are really fun.

It’s just a shame that Blizzard “in passing” ruins the good points again and overshadows everything once more with the questionable pricing policy.

More news about Overwatch 2 will be available at BlizzCon 2023 – in just a few weeks.

This means that players on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S do not have to wait as usual for the update but can load it directly with PC players.

How big is the update? On PS5, the update takes up 1.45 GB of storage space.

What changes with the patch for EA FC 24? While the first two patches for EA FC 24 were quite straightforward and mainly addressed stability issues, the new patch notes contain a lot of changes.

We summarize the patch notes here for you.

EA FC 24: Patch Notes for Title Update 3 – What changes are coming?

The patch notes show: A total of 117 bullet points made it into the patch notes for Title Update 3 from EA Sports FC.

The complete list of changes can be found on EA’s Trello board regarding changes in EA FC 24 (via trello.com). Especially there are a lot of small details and bug fixes that could change the game.

What changes in gameplay? Among other things, adjustments have been made to ball speeds, various animations, faulty skill move movements, and referee logic in certain situations. Numerous bugs have been addressed, such as unintended volleys when one intended to perform a header, or goalkeepers running far out.

The list of gameplay changes is very long but seems to mainly address smaller points. How this will affect gameplay remains to be seen until the update is live.

What, however, is not in the patch notes are adjustments for noticeably strong mechanics like R1 dribbling or the defensive settings that ensure strong pressing. Many had expected this.

EA FC 24: How the new dribbling mechanics work

What changes in Ultimate Team? Here, mainly bugs have been fixed. This includes various menu issues or a bug that prevented one from pausing Squad Battles after watching the end highlights in the previous match.

An important point is the card of Ada Hegerberg that was broken. It is expected to function again after a server release in the near future.

Additionally, there will be corrections to things like broken texts in stadium items from pack openings, faulty timers for rewards, incorrect time displays before Squad Battles, and other display issues. Work has also been done on various menu errors.

What changes in Clubs? A bug that interrupted the connection when attempting to start Drop-In matches has been fixed. This was a major issue that prevented match starts.

There were also sometimes incorrect data in player summaries after matches and stability issues. Additionally, skill games utilized the base attributes of virtual pros.

What changes in Career? Here, too, bugs have been fixed. For example, there could be incorrect numbers in the “best possible deal” display after signing a new player.

Furthermore, adjusted tactics could be reset again when changed outside of matches, and goalkeepers from the youth academy did not bring any playstyles.

Additionally, the bug occurring when dismissing a coach is addressed. Hopefully, this will be resolved.

What changes in Volta? The notes here provide only two points: the “Team Keepaway” arcade game did not always end when the timer expired, and a faulty, large goal net was displayed at times.

Further changes: Aside from the previous points, EA also addresses some cross-mode points. For example, a total of 162 new star heads will appear in the game, meaning realistic faces.

Additionally, there will be adjustments to various audio, gameplay, and graphics issues.

How does the update impact? This remains to be seen for now, as there is no extremely significant change in the patch notes, but many small points and especially bug fixes.

However, how this will affect gameplay is expected to become apparent soon once the new update is live.

One Piece on Netflix: The producer reveals what happens if the series is canceled too early: “Doesn’t want a false ending”

One Piece had such great success with its first season that Netflix greenlit season 2. However, once the series is no longer profitable, it may be that Netflix cancels it before Luffy and his friends reach the end of their journey. Producer Matt Owens now reveals what would happen in that case.

What would happen then? In a Q&A session on the reddit forum, user Speashasha wanted to know what would happen to the Netflix adaptation if it were canceled prematurely. According to him, Netflix and other streaming services have the habit of ending series after three seasons.

That’s why he is concerned about what would happen to One Piece if Netflix only approved one final season. His question has been translated by MeinMMO into German:

Given the long production time of this series and the fact that streaming providers usually cancel everything after three seasons, how long do you think the series will run and would you make drastic cuts to the source material if Netflix came to you and said they would do a final season?

via reddit.com

Matt Owens responded shortly after and promptly stated that he has a clear idea of how the ending should go. He wouldn’t want a “false ending” like in the video games and would try to bring the series to a clean conclusion:

Do you know how at the end of Pirate Warriors 3 they threw in a bunch of Yonko stuff in Dressrosa and the last levels of the game? I don’t plan to do that. I don’t want to rush things or create a false ending for the series. When we know we’re approaching the end, I hope we can finish the story appropriately where we are and that people will pick up the anime or manga to continue the journey.

via reddit.com

It seems that it’s not a problem for Matt Owens if the series ends prematurely. Actress Emily Rudd, who plays Nami, has already said that she could retire peacefully if One Piece were to be canceled.

Owens suggests that fans should read the manga or watch the anime if they are interested in the story of One Piece. Should it come to the point where the Netflix series must be concluded before the original story ends, Owens wants to ensure a standalone ending.

So far, the live-action adaptation of One Piece has only one season. The appropriate trailer for it can be found on MeinMMO:

Start video
One Piece – German Trailer for the First Season of the Live-Action Series by Netflix

Owens wants to prevent a false ending

What was the problem with Pirate Warriors 3? In the last chapter of the video game, Luffy goes to Dressrosa. One Piece mangaka Eiichiro Oda published the first chapter of the arc in 2013 and concluded the arc in 2015.

However, the video game One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 was released on March 26, 2015. This means that the Dressrosa arc was not yet completed during the concept phase. Since the development team didn’t know how the arc would turn out, they had to come up with an alternative ending.

There was a similar case with One Piece Pirate Warriors 4. The Wano Country arc ran from 2019 to 2022 in the manga, but the video game was released in 2020. So there was no chance to incorporate the conclusion of the arc.

That’s why the ending of the video game deviated from what One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda had in mind for the manga. In the video game, antagonist Blackbeard appeared, who was neither on the island at that time in the anime nor in the manga.

But this problem should not exist with the Netflix series. The series is many years behind the anime and manga, which means there is still plenty of time to tell Luffy and Co.’s story as closely to the original as possible.

In the Netflix series, the adventures continue in season 2. There we meet a new character that fans are already eager to see: One Piece on Netflix gets season 2 and a new character is involved.

The developers of Star Citizen want you to find and defeat them – reward you with a 300 Euro ship

Star Citizen is celebrating its anniversary and you’re getting the gifts. In a special event, you can find various tickets. The prize is a spaceship that would normally cost you around 300 euros.

Star-Citizen developers CIG (Cloud Imperium Games) are known for offering very expensive spaceships in the shop of the space MMO. This way, several hundred million dollars have already been raised to further finance the massive game. On the occasion of Star Citizen’s anniversary and the upcoming CitizenCon, CEO Chris Roberts and co. are in a generous mood. In a special event, you can earn a spaceship that would normally cost you around 300 euros. What you need to do for this, you’ll read about here with us.

The event is a good way to distract from the current problems with Star Citizen.

The official trailer for the event

The hunt is on – Star Citizen is giving you a 300 euro spaceship, you just need some luck and skill

Why is Star Citizen giving away such an expensive spaceship? Developer CIG is in a celebratory mood. The space game is celebrating its anniversary and in a few days, the CitizenCon 2023 will also begin. To celebrate this properly, there is a special event in the game until the start of the event. In this, you can win an Anvil F8C Lightning, a heavy combat spaceship, and with some luck, keep it forever.

What do you need to do for this? To receive the spaceship, it is basically enough to loot boxes and NPCs in missions. With a bit of luck, you will find a golden ticket/license relatively quickly this way. With that in your luggage, you then steer towards a space station with the appropriate terminal and redeem the license there. Through a pop-up, you will receive a confirmation for the successful redemption. You will now receive a free version of the F8C Lightning for your hangar for 24 hours.

How can I secure the ship permanently? By redeeming, you simultaneously unlock the purchase option in the shop. There, the spaceship costs you about 300 euros depending on the payment method. If you pay with fresh real money, the price is about 290 euros with a lifetime guarantee. If you still have enough shop credits in your account, you need to pay around 330 euros and will receive a 6-month insurance for the ship.

Can you also keep the ship for free? Yes, but you have to work hard for it. In addition to the golden ticket/license, there is also a platinum version available during the event. You can only find this license with Star Citizen developers who are present in the game.

How do I get the platinum edition? To take the platinum ticket from them, you need to shoot them down. With the valuable loot, you should then quickly head to the next terminal to redeem it. If the license is in your inventory, all players on the server will be informed of your location. You will go from the hunter to the hunted and need to be careful not to lose the ticket yourself.

Are there any other ways to get the spaceship? If you are a big supporter of Star Citizen, the F8C Lightning might already be in your possession. All supporters from 10,000 euros are members of the ‘Chairman’s Club’ and do not need to search for the spaceship. This will automatically await you in your hangar.

If you have no luck hunting for tickets and you are not a support heavyweight, there will be another way to get the heavy fighter. Once the single-player story Squadron 42 is available, you can unlock the spaceship by completing the campaign.

What about you? Are you already looking for the coveted tickets?

Star Citizen has raised over 600 million $ from its fans – bringing a spaceship for 500 $ with the new update

CS2: You can currently move like Michael Jackson when you play with the right weapon

Michael Jackson is currently one of the biggest topics in the community of Counter-Strike 2. Many players are reminded of the musician when they encounter opponents with a certain weapon and call it the “Michael Jackson” – aka “Smooth Criminal” – peek.

What is the Michael Jackson peek? In Counter-Strike 2, you can currently encounter other players who lean strangely to the side and take a very unnatural posture when running sideways with the AWP.

It looks like the player’s character is standing at an angle because the legs remain in the old position while the upper body continues to move. This strange posture reminds many players of the musician Michael Jackson, who assumed a similar posture in performances of the song “Smooth Criminal”.

Now, there are a variety of videos in the Counter-Strike community on Reddit showcasing the “Michael Jackson” peek – often with the appropriate musical accompaniment.

A clip of the “Michael Jackson” peek can be seen here:

Counter-Strike 2: Valve once again impresses with the launch trailer

Counter-Strike 2 is criticized despite the “Michael Jackson” peek

What is the current status of CS2? A few weeks after the release of Counter-Strike 2, the tactical shooter is in a difficult position.

Although the player numbers of CS2 on Steam are still outstanding, not much has changed compared to CS:GO, but many players complain about the state of the game. Even professional player s1mple criticized Counter-Strike 2 and advised against playing the shooter at the moment.

Valve recently responded in two patches to some of the biggest criticisms. The developers fixed broken hitboxes when crouching and also worked on matchmaking. Many fans, however, are still not satisfied, and so Counter-Strike 2 is now one of the worst-rated games by Valve on Steam – their own platform.

A new event is coming to Pokémon GO – brings many Shinys, but also receives criticism

The harvest festival takes place in Pokémon GO in October. There you will get the new Pokémon Olini with its two evolutions and 8 Shinys. However, the overall scope and the new limited research disappoint many trainers. They had hoped for more.

When does the event take place? The harvest festival starts on Thursday, October 12 at 10:00 AM. It will remain active until Tuesday, October 17 at 8:00 PM.

What does the event bring? The event brings new Pokémon, some Shinys, and a collector’s challenge:

  • The olive Pokémon Olini and its evolutions Olivinio and Olithena appear for the first time in Pokémon GO.
  • Grass moss modules will last for two hours during the event.
  • Grass moss modules attract Irrbis more frequently during the event.
  • During the event, you will receive extra candies for catching Irrbis.
  • There are 8 Shinys that you might encounter: Knofensa, Owei, Sonnkern, Waumpel, Wadribie, Waumboll, Lilminip, Irrbis. Through field research, you can also encounter Burmy with different cloaks as Shiny.

All details have been summarized here for you: Pokémon GO brings new Pokémon with 2 evolutions and bonuses to the harvest festival.

Here you will find an overview graphic with all the Pokémon that appear in the wild during the harvest festival:

Pokémon GO Harvest Festival Wild Spawns

Six days without special bonuses

How is the event received? Many trainers on Reddit seem rather disappointed. This is mainly due to the lack of general incentives, missing bonuses, and a paid quest that does not sound really attractive.

The user DonutDaniel hoped for new Shinys. However, although there are a total of 8 to catch, none of them are brand new.

Regarding the bonuses, AxeIsAxe writes: Six days will be hard, especially since there are no other bonuses like extra candies, XP, or stardust.” In fact, only the moss modules last longer as a bonus effect.

Some users also write that they hoped the harvest event would be more than just a side event for plant Pokémon.

As for the quest, opinions are divided. For 5 euros, there is the creepy-pretty ticket, which contains 4 limited researches that can only be gradually unlocked and must be completed by October 31. Part of it plays now during the harvest festival. As rewards, there are a moss module and encounters with Irrbis.

On Reddit, Ansoni writes: The event is a bit boring, but above all, the ticket seems ridiculous for what it costs.” The post received over 30 upvotes and several agreeing comments.

Other users point out, however, that the ticket also includes premium battle passes, egg incubators, and special candies. So it’s not very innovative, but the price is alright.

The general tone is: The event is among the weaker ones, but Flabébé is at least a highlight.

What do you think about the upcoming harvest festival? Are you excited or rather skeptical? There is actually more happening in October:

WoW: Dragonflight is already over – Patch 10.2 will likely be the last major update

A note on the PTR of World of Warcraft suggests that Dragonflight is already coming to an end with patch 10.2 – at least as far as major updates are concerned.

In World of Warcraft, most players are currently impatiently waiting for the next major patch 10.2: Guardians of the Dream. There, the story of Dragonflight will continue, and there will finally be a big showdown with Fyrakk, the incarnation of fire. At the same time, night elves are looking forward to finally receiving a new home if the World Tree can be preserved from the attack.

However, an item on the PTR seems to confirm what many have already feared: Patch 10.2 is likely to be the last major patch of Dragonflight.

What was found? Colleagues from wowhead found a new item on the PTR of patch 10.2, the “Dreambound Augment Rune”. This is a reusable item that, when used, increases the primary attributes (agility, intelligence, and strength) by 87 for one hour. The rune has a purchase price of 100,000 gold – twice as expensive as in Shadowlands.

WoW Augment Rune Dragon
The new rune will be available in patch 10.2 – for 100,000 gold.

Why does the item signify the end of Dragonflight? Looking at the last expansions of World of Warcraft, such a permanent rune has always been introduced only in the last major content patch. This was the case in Zereth Mortis (Shadowlands), as well as in the Black Empire (Battle for Azeroth) and Argus (Legion).

If Blizzard adheres to its previous plans, then patch 10.2 is the last major patch of Dragonflight – thus the last new area and also the last new raid.

However, please note that this is not guaranteed. Even though Blizzard has previously only introduced this rune in the last raid tier, this time could be different. However, looking at the history of the last expansions, it is a clear hint that Amirdrassil will be the last raid, and we can already start looking toward the next expansion afterward.

Will there be more after patch 10.2? Yes. At least the story is supposed to continue a bit. Therefore, one can assume that 10.2.3 or 10.2.5 will be released, which will at least bring new quests and perhaps a cinematic or two.

We will learn how things will progress in World of Warcraft in just a few weeks. Because at BlizzCon 2023, there will be “a lot about Warcraft”.

A gamer’s gaming PC only starts when a heater is placed right next to it – But he cannot save his PC this way

A gamer has a strange problem: His PC only starts when he places a heater next to it. But in reality, his PC won’t last much longer.

What is the problem? A gamer explains that he has a strange problem. The PC does not want to start as long as it is ice-cold. Then he gets a CPU and DRAM error on the motherboard. However, if he places a small heater next to the PC, the device boots up without any issues after a while.

The reason behind this is a faulty component that causes problems. With the heater, he can only postpone the issues and not “heal” them.

A faulty solder joint prevents his computer from starting and soon dying

What is the problem? His problem can only be solved by replacing his motherboard. Because a solder joint on his motherboard has failed. In English, this is called a “Dry Joint”:

A “Dry Point” refers to a solder joint between the circuit board and the lead of a component that has become weak during use. The reason for this can be either a manufacturing defect or poor handling by the owner.

By warming up the internals of the PC with the heater, he can start the gaming PC, but he is merely postponing the inevitable. Because the solder joint will become weaker over time until it finally gives out. And then nothing will start at all.

Some explain that there is the same problem in the console area: Because with the old Xbox models (Xbox 360 and earlier), the motherboard also eventually fails due to excessive heat inside.

Take your time when building your computer

Can such errors be avoided? If it is a manufacturing defect, then as a gamer or someone who assembles the PC, you cannot do much about it.

In general, you should make sure to cool your hardware properly, as this extends the durability and lifespan of your components. Moreover, overheated components will throttle their performance so they can cool down again. Especially dirt and grime can affect the cooling of your PC, and gamers repeatedly show why you should regularly clean your system.

With cleanliness and proper cooling, you can certainly reduce the wear and tear on your hardware and prevent components from becoming damaged in the long run. In some cases, it may even be enough to slightly change the position of the computer or replace a fan.

Other players also search long and desperately for problems as to why their own computer simply does not want to start. One gamer has invested 3,000 euros in his system, but he was finally able to find the error with help:

Gamer despairs for weeks over a new gaming PC for 3,000 euros – Feels like a fool for overlooking a tiny error

Baldur’s Gate 3 does without a boring quest type and no one misses it – „This game has ruined quests for me“

The story of Baldur’s Gate 3 is told exceptionally fluidly and coherently. This is partly because there are no classic RPG content stretchers in the game: so-called fetch quests. Players rejoice on reddit because of this.

How are quests structured in Baldur’s Gate 3? Quests in Baldur’s Gate 3 are quite free: you receive them, for example, while engaging in dialogues, examining items, or entering new areas. However, the quest objectives are always substantial, so you always have to solve a puzzle, rescue someone, or find something. All objectives advance the main story or the story of your companions.

What is entirely missing are traditional collection and fetch quests; the so-called fetch quests. These are temporary tasks where you collect or deliver items for NPCs. These quests often unnecessarily stretch the gameplay and are neither challenging nor engaging.

Baldur’s Gate 3 almost completely dispenses with fetch quests, and the community celebrates the game for it.

No longing for fetch quests

How does the community celebrate the lack of fetch quests? In a reddit post with over 4000 upvotes, user bionickel expresses joy:

I just want to positively note that there are no fetch or meaningless quests in this game. All other studios would have inserted filler quests just to artificially extend the playtime.[…]

bionickel via reddit, 09.10.2023

bionickel lists the following fetch quests that could have fit into the game but are not included:

  • Collect 10 biting herbs for Aunt Ethel
  • Defeat 5 cursed shadows to help the Harpers
  • Collect 5 flute pieces to awaken Art Cullagh
  • Rolan has fallen, and the flying scrolls are going haywire. Help Rolan keep his job by catching all the flying scrolls! (4/79 completed)

Additionally, the user lists several frustrating mechanics that players must deal with in some RPGs. Among them is the need to keep companions happy with regularly farmed resources, or achievements where you have to do a specific task a certain number of times.

bionickel concludes:

But this game, man. This game has none of that. Every quest is unique and contributes something to the overall experience. I will scream internally the next time I see a fetch quest in another game. This game has ruined quests for me in a positive way.[…]

bionickel via reddit, 09.10.2023

The comments on the post reflect bionickel’s feelings. A selection:

  • huskerbolt1: Absolutely. […] Of course, I could just skip everything at this point [in Act 3] and go straight to the boss fights, but the side quests and story make me want to try everything before the glorious buffet ends.
  • suzieisaheadbanger: The fetch quest trophy you get when playing ball with Kratzer made me laugh. They really made an effort to avoid the usual long-term tasks that are otherwise necessary to complete quests in games.
  • Enzeevee: Baldur’s Gate 3 is very good at allowing you to approach quests in various ways, especially when it comes to things outside of a small handful of special dialogue options.

However, the community discusses whether perhaps a somewhat macabre fetch quest has made its way into the game: in Act 3, you must find the various body parts of a clown as part of a quest.

What about you: Do you miss the classic fetch quests? Have you found all the parts of Dribbles the clown?

Counter Strike 2 has upset numerous fans – With a simple trick you can play the popular CS:GO again on Steam

Counter-Strike 2 has upset numerous fans. But with a simple trick, you can still play the popular CS:GO on Steam. MeinMMO reveals how you can do it.

The gaming universe is constantly in motion, and the release of Counter-Strike 2 has divided the community. Not everyone was ready to give up their beloved CS:GO and embrace the successor.

In fact, Counter-Strike 2 has achieved an astonishing feat since its release about two weeks ago – but not necessarily in a positive way. The game is currently one of the worst-rated games from Valve. Players are longing for CS:GO. But with a simple trick, you can now play the popular shooter again.

CS:GO Steam comeback: A rescue in the library

What is this trick? For all those who have not warmed up to Counter-Strike 2 yet, there is a rescue in the Steam library. The popular CS:GO is still available, even if it is not immediately obvious.

Here’s how to find CS:GO on Steam:

  • Go to your Steam library and search for Counter-Strike 2.
  • Right-click to select the properties.
  • Go to Betas and select the option for the CSGO legacy version from the dropdown menu.

Voilà! You now have access to a frozen version of Global Offensive, which you can theoretically play forever.

Where’s the catch? However, on January 1, 2024, Valve will cease all support for CS:GO – the game will no longer receive updates. Moreover, no official matchmaking will be supported for CS:GO. You should still be able to play CS:GO via community servers.

In a world full of innovations and exciting developments, sometimes it’s the old memories that mean the most. The continued existence of CS:GO on Steam, albeit with restrictions, is a small consolation for all those who still love the game.

Final Fantasy XIV was overwhelmed by players a few months ago, today the servers are allegedly empty – How bad is the MMORPG really?

The next expansion has already been announced, the current one is approaching its final stages: The MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV is currently in a lull. However, the community is not entirely satisfied, and some streamers are speaking out.

What has happened recently in the Final Fantasy XIV community? Final Fantasy XIV reached a new peak in player numbers with the expansion Endwalker released at the end of 2021. The MMORPG enjoyed immense popularity.

Since then, the patches from 6.1 to the latest 6.5 have been released. These include more content like the 8- and 24-player raids, the new relic weapons, trials, dungeons, and story content. Currently, the game seems to be in a content drought and experiencing player flight, which is why some streamers have spoken out.

Zepla on the current status of Final Fantasy XIV

What does Zepla say? The US streamer Zepla is one of the biggest content creators in the English-speaking Final Fantasy XIV community. She published a video about a month ago expressing her disappointment with the patch content in Endwalker.

She points out the following issues:

  • The patch story does not match the usual quality.
  • “Traditional” MMORPG content is lacking. She mentions, among other things, the Eureka released with the expansion Stormblood and Shadowbringers Bozja.
  • The “relic weapon grind” has been reduced to a mere currency exchange, making the acquisition of the weapon less satisfying.
  • Since Final Fantasy XIV has recently been upgraded towards single-player, many players have no longer any reason to play group content even with other players.
  • The Island Sanctuary has not turned out to be the cozy game section of the MMORPG as expected, but rather a management simulator.
What are Eureka and Bozja?

Eureka and Bozja are additional content in their own instances. Both pieces of content consist of several zones that have been slowly introduced over the various patches. In these, players face hundreds of enemies, special events, and even challenging 48-player raids alone or in groups. The zones have a story based on the main narrative, are part of the relic grind of their respective expansions, and can be used to level up jobs.

For Zepla, these reasons are responsible for fewer players logging in. She sees it as a vicious circle: those who used to come back repeatedly during the patches now stop playing much earlier due to the lack of content. When they return, they find an empty game and log out again.

Final Fantasy XIV Island Sanctuary Screenshot
The Island Sanctuary is your own island that you need to build and manage. You can visit your friends’ islands, but there is no reason to do so within the game.

What do other Final Fantasy XIV streamers think about this? Besides Zepla, other streamers and YouTubers have also spoken out.

Xenosys Vex, a self-proclaimed long-time Final Fantasy XIV player, addresses similar points in his own video. According to Xenosys, players are simply bored, which he attributes to the lack of current, Bozja-like content.

Most other content creators, however, only react to the videos of Zepla and Xenosys:

What does the community say?

Under the respective videos on YouTube, there is much support from the viewers. Here are a few examples:

  • doctorcis3510 on Zepla’s video: “As a player who just recently reached the endgame for the first time, I’m having a great time and feel like I have a lot to do. But, looking back, very little of what I do is after the Endwalker-Patch content.”
  • vrahnkeneisenbach9148 on Zepla’s video: “My problem with the game’s development philosophy has been for some time that they introduce a lot of cool, unique ideas, but they introduce them as dead-end content that entertains for a short time and then is done forever, rather than integrating them directly into the core gameplay.”
  • Longlius on Xenosys Vex’s video: “People also forget that the time between the last patch of Shadowbringers and Endwalker was unusual. During this time, a lot of people came to try out FFXIV, and so the game felt much livelier than it usually does in the drought before the expansion.”
  • batwingpie on Xenosys Vex’s video: “Having played through ten years of content in one go can lead to unrealistic expectations for the current content.”

There is also discussion about the patch content on Reddit. Recently, a discussion in the subreddit “ffxivdiscussion” started about many long-term friends who have drifted apart during the patches – for some of the reasons mentioned by Zepla.

In the discussion, many see the problem also with the new feature of visiting other data centers. Many active players are now concentrating in certain data centers. However, the absence of group content for players who do not raid or at least do not play the high-end raids is also criticized here.

What is the real state of Final Fantasy XIV?

What do the player numbers say? Square Enix usually only publishes the current number of registered players. Whether these are also actively playing at the moment is not known. Steam charts can also be referred to determine the player count, but they only consider Steam players.

A more comprehensive insight is provided by the Japanese blogger LuckyBancho. He uses officially available numbers from the Final Fantasy XIV support page Lodestone and tracks the number of people who achieve expansion and patch achievement titles. According to this, player fluctuation up to patch 6.4 looks as follows:

Player numbers drop slightly between expansions. So, that fewer players are currently participating is normal in terms of the lifecycle of the DLC. The fact that more players did not return in Endwalker than before can be due to the fact that more players were playing at the peak – but also because patch 6.1 starts a completely new story.

What about the content? Here, the streamers seem to have hit a nerve. Square Enix did publish again a three-part series of 8- and 24-player raids and also the high-end content Dragonsong’s Reprise at the beginning of the expansion. However, the latter actually still belonged to Shadowbringers.

The current 24-player raid revolves around the formerly mysterious god world of Final Fantasy XIV. Otherwise, it is a classic raid following a tried-and-true model.

Group content like Eureka and Bozja seems to be sorely missed by players. There, one could have a lot of fun quickly with friends or even just random new acquaintances. Due to the community connection with the relic weapons and the high-end raid for 48 players, all players had reasons to log in regularly.

What’s next for Final Fantasy XIV? In fact, the developers have already announced some of the “missing” and still desired features for the upcoming expansion Dawntrail. In an interview with the Japanese magazine Famitsu, the development of a Eureka/Bozja-like content has already been confirmed.

There is currently no known reaction from the developers regarding community requests for the relic weapons.

Here you can watch the trailer for Dawntrail:

Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail – Trailer for the new expansion

More information regarding Dawntrail will be available on October 20 and 21. Then the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival will take place in London. However, it is likely to take a while until the release of the expansion:

Final Fantasy XIV follows, unless delayed by external influences, a strict release schedule. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, expansions were released every two years in the summer. Since the release of patch 6.5 aligns with this rhythm again, the new content is likely to be available only in June 2024.

How do you feel about the current content state of Final Fantasy XIV? Are you still playing? Have you completed all the exciting content for you? Or are you using the possibly longer waiting time between patch 6.5 and the release of 7.0 to catch up? We look forward to your comments!

Survival Shooter with Zombie Mutants launches today on Steam and Epic, shows roadmap for the upcoming year

In the survival MMO “The Front”, time travel against zombies is the focus. The shooter launches today, on October 11, 2023, in early access on Epic and Steam. Just in time for the launch, there is also a roadmap for the upcoming year.

What kind of game is this? In “The Front”, you play as a resistance fighter who travels back in time to stop the zombie apocalypse. To achieve this, you have access to various guns and their associated attachments, as well as war machines like helicopters and tanks.

In addition, The Front also includes survival elements: you can team up with friends, explore ruins and enemy territories, craft weapons and equipment, and build and defend a base.

The Front Early Access Trailer

The Front starts bumpy, but promises new features

What can you expect in early access? In EA, you should have access to all survival and crafting features and be able to level up to level 60. The promised features include building hideouts, modifying vehicles, and using systems for the automatic defense of your base.

On Steam, The Front is currently receiving mostly negative ratings (as of October 11, 2023, 19:45). If you want to see for yourself what the game is like, you can do so until October 18, 2023, at a 20% discount for €15.60. In the Epic Game Store, you even pay only €14.39.

This is the plan moving forward: Perhaps the new content, which was presented in the roadmap announced on October 9 for the coming year, has the potential to improve the negative reviews.

  • In the first 1-3 months after the EA launch, there should be new vehicles, features, equipment, NPCs, and many new structures. The Steam Workshop is also expected to be supported.
  • After 4-6 months, there should be a new game mode, new features, equipment, and NPCs as well as a new vehicle and a mecha boss.
  • For months 7-12, there will be a new map, additional vehicles, equipment, and NPCs, as well as a new world boss.

If you’re not so into helicopters and tanks in your survival games and prefer a fantasy setting, Enshrouded might be more to your taste. The “Minecraft for adults” is expected to start early access in 2023 and celebrate its full release in 2024.

On Steam, you can play it for free until October 16, 2023.
