Season 2 of Overwatch is ending soon. We reveal to you what rewards await you.
Time flies and Season 2 of Overwatch is coming to an end. All fans of the competitive game mode should dive into battle one last time to boost their rating, as this evening (November 23, 2016) marks the end of Season 2.
With the end of Season 2, there will also be a distribution of Competitive Points, which can be used to purchase special rewards in the form of golden weapons for all heroes. The number of points you receive depends on your current or highest achieved skill rating this season in the competitive game mode. A golden weapon costs 3000 points but offers no gameplay advantage – it is purely for aesthetics.

Apart from the distribution at the end of the season, you can also “farm” Competitive Points – a victory in the competitive game mode gives 10 points, a draw still gives 3 points. If you don’t want to wait for the end of a season, you will need to achieve 300 wins per weapon.
Didn’t earn any rating for Season 2? Then it’s best to quickly complete the 10 placement matches now, so you can at least snag some Competitive Points.
Additionally, there is a player icon and a spray logo, both in the style of the map “Route 66”.
If all goes according to plan, the 3rd Season of Overwatch will start in a week, on November 30, 2016. It is likely that Blizzard will implement a new patch by then, which will adjust some fine-tuning on the skill rating evaluation.
Cortyn says: I barely made it into Diamond (with a good amount of luck), just to snag some Competitive Points. Many players should now be able to buy their first golden weapon after Season 2. Which one will you get? A mighty hammer for Reinhardt or a discreet cyber weapon for Symmetra?
