Overwatch turns Bastion upside down and gives him many new values. But Mercy is also significantly more useful now – at least on the current PTR. Read here the Overwatch PTR patch notes.
A new patch is currently being tested on the Overwatch PTR and it has quite a few changes in store. Especially Mercy and Bastion can look forward to some adjustments that are clearly to be considered buffs.
Bastion – The tank destroyer with more endurance
Several weeks ago, the developers announced massive changes to Bastion, as he is rarely picked in the current meta of the game. He was simply too stationary and too easy to counter – which is supposed to change now.
Configuration: Sentry
- Activation time reduced to 1.0 seconds (previously 1.5 seconds)
- Bullet spread increased by 50%
- The bullet spread is now always at maximum
- Magazine size increased from 200 to 300
- Headshot multiplier removed
- No longer deals critical damage
Configuration: Recon
- Bullet spread reduced by 25%
- Magazine size increased from 20 to 25
Self-repair
- Can now be cast while moving
- Now on the secondary fire button (right mouse button)
- Is no longer interrupted by damage taken
- Has a new resource that is consumed upon use and recharges when not used
Configuration: Tank
- No longer grants additional armor
New passive ability: Armored
- Bastion takes 35% less damage when Configuration: Tank or Configuration: Sentry is active
Oh dear, Bastion is almost getting a complete overhaul. Our favorite omnic (no offense, Zenyatta) will likely be picked much more often when all these changes go live.
Mercy – Undefeated instead of victim
Resurrection
- While Mercy is casting Resurrection, she temporarily becomes invulnerable, just like the resurrected allies
Although it is only a single balance change for Mercy, it should have a significant impact on her playstyle. So far, Resurrection was often used in a way that “throws away one’s own life” to save the team. Now Mercy can also continue to participate in the fight after the resurrection if the allied team acts quickly and strategically.
Apart from these two changes, the new patch also brings several other adjustments to the settings, allowing mouse sensitivity to be adjusted more accurately for various abilities.
