In the Korean version of the MMORPG Blade & Soul, the new class Archer will be released on June 12. To set the mood, the developers at NCSoft created a cool cinematic.
What does the cinematic show? The cinematic for the new class Archer starts with a Jin fighting against an armed order. It kicks off with a shot from a great distance, focusing on the physics of the arrow.
During the battle, another Archer joins in. Together, they face a superior force of enemies and a large, wild beast.
What makes the trailer special? The CGI trailer by NCSoft is elaborate and beautifully done. It is dynamic and captures the fights well.
In terms of quality, it still does not reach the heights of Blizzard’s cinematics for World of Warcraft, Square Enix’s for Final Fantasy, or Riot Games’ for League of Legends. However, it shows that NCSoft wants to continue developing their MMORPG.
Thus, later this year the transition to Unreal Engine 4 is planned to upgrade Blade & Soul’s graphics.
Dynamic class without Gender Lock
What do we already know about the Archer? The Archer is set to appear for the Jin and Yun races, and later for the Lyn. Although all images so far featured female Archers, according to MMOCulture, there will be no gender lock. You will also be able to choose male archers.
The Archer is a mobile class that emphasizes ranged combat. You will need to keep moving away from enemies, and you have abilities that allow you to dodge and retreat.
When will the Archer be released? In Korea, the new class will be available in the game on June 12. As we previously described in the first teaser for the Archer, the release in the West is likely to take place in September this year.
For this month, there will be a big patch in our version of Blade & Soul, introducing a new act of the story, class specializations, and fishing:
