What happened with the small MMORPGs:
- Would you farm a pet with a drop chance of only 0.00143 percent in your MMORPG of choice multiple times? And even if there was no achievement or other benefit for it? Well, a player from Old School RuneScape did not only do that, but their grind got “somewhat” out of control.
- Speaking of: Old School RuneScape remains successful despite its age. Now, the 12-year-old MMORPG even broke its own all-time record for concurrent players.
- And once again OSRS: The developers are currently preparing to implement the sailing skill, with fresh resources, rewards, and mechanics. So much is included that there was a long blog post by the developers about it on runescape.com.

- The MMORPG oldie Rift received another small patch on August 5 with event contents and bug fixes. You can find the patch notes on riftgame.com.
- After switching to 64-bit servers, there were not only problems with Lord of the Rings Online but also with Dungeons & Dragons Online. You can learn more about it on ddo.com.
What happened with MMORPGs in development:

- On Steam, you can currently download the beta of Calamity. The developers describe their game as a free sandbox MMORPG inspired by genre legends such as World of Warcraft, Lineage, Diablo, and Albion Online. However, due to the pixelated top-down perspective, a lot of imagination is needed.
- In the latest part of the podcast about the MMORPG project Ghost on YouTube, lead developer Greg Street revealed that the blue zones should also cater to small teams of 2 players, for example. They are also considering solo support, but actually want people to team up. Otherwise, it was mainly about sound design and music.
