On Steam a new coop game starts today. It looks like someone has let the bugs out of Helldivers into Satisfactory.
Which game is being talked about? The game in question is StarRupture: A survival coop game by developer Creepy Jar, the creators of Green Hell. The game launches in Early Access on January 6, 2026, on Steam. A regular release is set to follow in about a year.
StarRupture takes place in a sci-fi world with a satirical undertone. The Claywood Corporation is so kind as to let you serve your life sentence on an alien planet. There, you will exploit, process, and send local resources to the corporation.
The humor of the game is also highlighted in the latest trailer. In this “special message,” the Claywood Corporation addresses its “employees”:
Satisfactory with Swarms of Bugs like in Helldivers
Like a mix of Helldivers and Satisfactory: So far, this all sounds very much like Satisfactory – albeit with less slapstick humor, based on the trailer. There is a significant difference, however, which gives the game its Helldivers DNA.
In StarRapture, your factory is repeatedly threatened, including by nasty alien bugs. These resemble the bugs from Helldivers and attack your factory in hordes to gnaw on the technology. Then it’s time to grab your weapons and play exterminator. There are also natural disasters like massive fire storms.
This is how players react: The trailers make the game already look good, and the demo has generated excitement among some players. A user comments under the trailer on YouTube: “I played the demo and I can’t wait to play this game on release.”
The humor is also received well. When the Claywood Corporation promotes the “benefits” of the planet, GDPDuncan immediately responds on YouTube: “You had me at ‘Affordable housing’. Where do I sign?” Meanwhile, RhoDawg51817 is amazed by the beauty of the planet: “Sign me up! Looks like a permanent vacation!”
