In Arms of God on Steam you fulfill your sacred duty, liberate a cathedral, and fight massive hordes of demons while being blasted with metal sounds. It sounds like Warhammer 40,000, but it really isn’t.
What kind of game is this? It is Arms of God, a dark roguelite with bloody DOOM atmosphere. You are heavily armed and shoot demon hordes in hell to fulfill your sacred duty.
In this single-player experience, you stop the apocalypse, save the Earth from hellfire, and reclaim your order as the last hope of the “Arms of God”. A metal soundtrack sets the mood, blasting into your ears.
Arms of God launched in Early Access on Steam on June 8, 2026. How long it will stay there has not yet been revealed by the solo developer Dominik Sójka.

How does Arms of God play? You choose from 10 characters with individual abilities that influence the gameplay. The heroes wield up to five weapons simultaneously which can be combined and upgraded to create powerful builds. In total, 60 different weapons are available to you.
With their hefty armor and large stature, these heroes strongly resemble the Space Marines from Warhammer 40,000. Some distinctive weapons of these mighty warriors of the Imperium, such as chainsaw swords, can also be found here. Although it is officially not a game of Warhammer 40,000, you can still feel like a Space Marine.
Each demon you encounter on your crusade brings their own abilities and attacks. This necessitates tactical approaches and adjusted strategies for every encounter. On top of that, you will have to prove yourself against powerful bosses.
In the beginning, everything revolves around the recapture of the cathedral, the headquarters of your order. If you liberate this sacred place, it becomes your strategic hub. Altogether, you will traverse 60 areas with different types of enemies and uncover the truth behind the fall of humanity.
How is the game received? As of now (June 16, 2026, 5:30 PM), Arms of God has gathered around 930 reviews on Steam, of which 90% are positive. Players especially praise the fun gameplay concept, reminiscent of Brotato and Vampire Survivors, but in the metal guise of DOOM. For the price of around 10 euros, this ARPG already offers a good amount of content.
However, individual voices express criticism, particularly concerning controller bugs and interface issues. Some also complain that the characters feel too similar in gameplay and that cosmetic skins are behind a paywall.
