Looking ahead to the upcoming expansion Biting Cold, which will be released on May 19, 2026, the team at Neverwinter has extended the quick start event. Perfect for fans of MMOs and Dungeons & Dragons to return to the game now.
What is currently happening at Neverwinter? The new management at Cryptic is currently working on modernizing and making more attractive the MMORPGs that have been running for many years. The studio is known to also offer the currently largest online RPG for Dungeons & Dragons: Neverwinter.
One goal of the developers is to lure players back to the servers who turned their backs on Faerûn years ago. They want to achieve this with a quick start event that provides you immediately with a pre-made character at level 20 if you have ever played a hero at level 16 or higher. He has everything you need to dive straight into all the content.
More time for you! The new information is that the developers are extending this event until May 26, 2026. The reason: On May 19, the next expansion of Neverwinter, Biting Cold, is launching. The developers want to ensure that players who return specifically for the new module also benefit from the quick start event.
What does Biting Cold bring? Module 33 was already on the test servers from April 23 to May 4 and is set to bring the following highlight innovations:
- New adventure zone: Reghed Edge
- Heroic Encounters
- Zone mechanic: Advancing Frost
- Dungeon: Jotunskar in Normal, Advanced, and Master modes
- Heavenly Shirts & Pants
- Heavenly Rings with additional attribute bonuses
Further innovations and improvements such as a fundamental dungeon overhaul and extensive class adjustments are to follow in the coming months.
The 2013 released Free2Play MMO may have gathered some dust over the years, but the action-packed battles and the strong D&D universe still provide fun today. Moreover, it has a small but dedicated community that welcomes reinforcements. What Cryptic currently still plans can be found here: While everyone else is tired of MMORPGs, one studio brings back the old guard for a new attack
