With the expansion Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, a new set of weapons comes into play. The weapons of the Acid Glavenus have the highest base attack.
The weapons and armors in Monster Hunter World are divided by monsters. Each armor set and each weapon tree has its own skills and attack values.
You get the weapons from this monster: The Acid Glavenus is – as the name suggests – a subspecies of the Glavenus. Its tail is sharp like a sword and it uses it accordingly. The tail of the Acid Glavenus is additionally coated with acid. Its greatest weakness is the fire element, so you should counter it with that.

Do Acid Glavenus weapons have a weakness? A major drawback of Acid Glavenus weapons is their comparatively low sharpness. However, you can avoid this or at least make it easier for yourself.
The skill Protective Polish, for example, prevents your sharpness from decreasing for a certain time after sharpening. Handicraft increases your sharpness bar right from the start, and Fast Sharpening allows you to sharpen faster.
How to get even more damage out of your weapon
Can I increase the damage of my weapon further? There is a very simple way to enhance your attack value. You only need a weapon without an active element. The weapons of the Acid Glavenus have a hidden element. If this remains hidden, the weapon is considered elementless.
Then a decoration called Elementless Jewel 2 comes into play. It includes the skill Non-Element Boost at level 1. This increases the base attack of your weapon even more.
Can I somehow utilize the element that is on the weapon? If you want to forego the additional damage from Non-Element Boost, you can activate the element. For this, you need the skill Super Weapon. This can be especially useful for paralysis. You obtain this skill, for example, through the Kirin Armor of the Master Rank.
