As Michael Douglas revealed in an interview, he had a very special wish for his character in the third Ant-Man movie, even though Marvel did not fulfill it.
Recently, Michael Douglas appeared on The View to promote his new series Franklin. In response to a question, he mentioned that he wanted a very special exit for his character in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania.
He plays Hank Pym in the MCU, a brilliant entomologist and physicist who also invented the Ant-Man suit.

He wanted a spectacular exit from the MCU
What did the actor wish for his character? As Michael Douglas shared, he wished for his role to die in the third Ant-Man movie.
However, he wanted to have a very special exit from the franchise and to die in a spectacular way.
Michael Douglas also had a very concrete idea of what it should look like:
[To be killed] was actually my wish for the third film. I said I would like a serious [death], with all these great special effects.
There must be a fantastic way for me to shrink down to ant size and explode, whatever that is. I want to use all those effects.

This was not the first time the actor expressed this wish. Already on the red carpet for the third Ant-Man film, the actor told Hollywood Reporter that he would do a fourth installment as long as he died in it.
Will we see Michael Douglas as Hank again? It doesn’t sound like it. Because even though Marvel did not fulfill Michael Douglas’s wish and Hank Pym survived the film, he seems to have no interest in a return to the franchise.
The actor mentioned during the interview on The View that he likely would not return for his role in a fourth Ant-Man film:
“But that was last time. Now I don’t believe I will [appear in a fourth].”
However, there has been no information from Marvel about how Hank Pym will continue in the MCU or if there will even be a fourth Ant-Man film.
