After the success of Fallout, Amazon is soon launching the next adaptation of a popular video game. Everything you need to know about God of War can be found here.
What is God of War? Contrary to what the name might suggest, this is not a new installment of Sony’s video game series, but rather an adaptation of it in the form of a series.
The focus is on the reboot, which shows Kratos within Norse mythology. This means it is not about Kratos in Greek mythology, as depicted in the first three games.
When is the release of God of War? There is currently no date for the series launch. This is not surprising, as filming has not yet begun. According to Nexus Point News, filming is set to begin in March 2026. A release before 2027 is therefore rather unlikely.
Is there a trailer? Unfortunately, there is currently no trailer for the series. However, Amazon has released a first image from the series, showcasing the protagonists Kratos and Atreus.

As soon as there is a proper trailer, we will show it to you here. Until then, you can get a rough impression from the game trailer of God of War Ragnarök:

God of War: All about the plot
What is God of War about? To the disappointment of some fans, the series tells the story of the reboot from 2018 and leaves out the old games along with Greek mythology.
The story tells of the hero Kratos, who lives in Midgard with his son Atreus. Together, they set off to the highest mountains to scatter the ashes of Kratos’ deceased wife. The journey is a tough test for both and presents numerous challenges that lead to their character growth.
It is assumed that the first season covers the first game, and the second will ultimately focus on God of War Ragnarök. As soon as there are updates about the series, you will find them here.
