The launch trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda has been released – lots of explosions and emotions collide in a new galaxy.
In just under 2 weeks, the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda will take place, the next chapter in BioWare’s SciFi universe. To further excite the fans and still doubtful players, BioWare has now released the launch trailer, which offers a first glimpse into the Andromeda galaxy.
The story of Mass Effect: Andromeda begins between Mass Effect 2 and 3, but then places the player nearly 600 years into the future, in the largely unknown Andromeda galaxy. As a “Pathfinder,” a selected team is supposed to search for a new home for humanity here, as the resources of Earth and the known systems have long been running out.
Consequently, humans in Andromeda are the “aliens” invading a foreign galaxy. How the different species in Andromeda will react to this is something you will find out for yourselves in a few weeks.
It is also important to note that the choices of players from Mass Effect 1-3 will have little relevance for the new installment. “Andromeda” is a fresh start and although Shepard is a well-known character, none of the (controversial) endings from Mass Effect 3 are canon now. How exactly this will be resolved, we will probably find out soon enough.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released in Europe on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on March 23, 2017. However, customers of “Origins Access” and “EA Access” can already get a taste of the game a week earlier with 10 hours of playtime.
