Stumbling City is emerging as an essential tipping point that will shake up the dynamics of the series once again. At the center of this is Ormund, who is planning his next move in the episode.
Meanwhile, Rhaenyra’s steadfastness crumbles as she learns that she has been lied to by her own husband (and uncle).

Rhaenyra’s power is crumbling
What is Rhaenyra’s situation? The pressure on Rhaenyra continues to mount. The problem in Stumbling City still persists, and Aemond is still lurking around. To gather information, she questions Helaena, who seems to have visions. She is likely a dreamer of dragons. It is apparent that Rhaenyra is slowly losing her patience. She seems to doubt whether she is truly meant to be queen.
Meanwhile, Alicent has arrived in Harrenhal, just as Rhaenyra planned. Before that happens, however, there is a scene where Aemond intends to sleep with his mother, but it is actually Alys Rivers – which visibly shocks Aemond.
Aemond kills Alicent’s companion, but he seems not to distrust his mother – leading to a conflict with Alys. She deceives him, poisons him with wine, but it can’t be that bad. He staggers through the poison to Alys, who only reacts with fool
. Alicent flees.
Alicent seems to have carried out Rhaenyra’s order, but another problem re-emerges before her. Addam and Baela discover that the sheep-thief seems to be flying again with a rider. Daemon still tries to help his daughter Rhaena, but suddenly Addam, Baela, and Rhaenyra appear as well. They capture Baela, and after a brutal fight with Caraxes and sea smoke, the sheep-thief escapes injured.
However, Baela does not seem to have been thrown into prison. Clean and in front of a fireplace, she meets her sister, who embraces her despite the events. Daemon also tries to apologize to Rhaenyra, who throws him out in tears.
Mysaria, Rhaenyra’s advisor and essentially mistress of whispers, meets with an old friend, who accuses her of not caring for the common people anymore. Later, Rhaenyra discusses with Mysaria about Daemon’s actions, but the argument ends with both of them sleeping together.
Ormund has an ace up his sleeve
What is Ormund planning next? Ormund kidnapped Lord Corlys in the last episode and although he plays nice at dinner, he cuts off one of Corlys’s fingers. He sends it at the end of the episode to Alyn, who is currently maintaining order in King’s Landing.
Daeron and Gawan are now doubting whether Ormund has a plan to defeat Rhaenyra and protect the city. In the end, however, we see his new secret weapon. He has befriended Ulf and promises him land and a lordship. Ulf, who was humiliated by Daemon, seems to enjoy this. Another dragon would be a strong upgrade for Ormund.
But another major problem for Rhaenyra also awakens elsewhere. Aegon no longer wants to flee and confronts an army from House Muton, allies of Rhaenyra, together with Tyland Lannister (Larys has fled).
In one final act, Aegon wanted to die as king, but during his speech, Sunfire suddenly appears, his presumed dead dragon. With that, the army is no longer a problem, and like a villain, Aegon laughs heartily.
