In Crimson Desert you can experience the game completely differently with a setting, and it works better than you think.
What kind of setting is it? Most players probably never touch the settings in the Accessibility tab. However, hidden there in Crimson Desert is precisely the function to significantly adjust the camera perspective.
Perhaps you have zoomed in so closely in Crimson Desert that you could view Kliff and his companions from a first-person perspective. However, in the settings, you can achieve exactly the opposite.
If you set the right things there, you will view your main character from a bird’s-eye view. It then looks as if you are already playing Diablo V. Fighting is also possible with this.
Better than expected
How does the mode work? The developers probably did not think that Crimson Desert would be played from an isometric perspective. Nevertheless, the open-world adventure works better than expected, despite the Diablo perspective.
In two videos, a user shows on Reddit and YouTube what the game looks like with it:
In combat, the perspective seems to have no negative impact at all. Aiming, executing attacks, and dodging appear to work well despite the “strange” perspective. Perhaps some bosses might even become easier thanks to the enhanced overview.
However, there are still problems when it comes to blocking and aiming with the bow. Both center the camera, which completely disrupts the isometric perspective. Also problematic are leaves and trees that do not fade out like in a “normal” isometric game when the character disappears under the foliage.
What setting needs to be adjusted? To play Crimson Desert from a bird’s-eye view, you first need to go to the Accessibility settings. There you will find the sliders for camera view distance and camera distance. Set the camera view distance to 0 and the camera distance to 100.
However, remember how you have been playing Crimson Desert so far. The default value for both settings should be 50.
Since the settings have already laid the foundation, it is conceivable that in the future modifications could make Crimson Desert even better resemble Diablo V and solve the current problems.
