They are important because they bring many passive upgrades that can significantly affect the gameplay. So, you should always take this opportunity. While you can also find scarabs in the “wild”, the map provides you with the exact locations easily.

Always collect stone sword keys
If you’re currently exploring a fortress, you should definitely keep an eye out for a more hidden chest. Because in this one, you will often find the stone sword keys that you need for special challenges at the statuettes. Depending on the statue, you may need several.
The statues automatically spawn powerful bosses, from whom you can loot special items. The chests are usually found on the upper floors of the fortresses, but also in churches on the second floor or behind the altar.
