Game on Steam fulfills my childhood fantasy of a Jurassic Park, where (almost) no one gets eaten, is now cheaper than ever

If MeinMMO author Ody were offered the opportunity to visit a real Jurassic Park, he would probably accept the offer without hesitation. This dream, which he has had since childhood, is fulfilled by a game on Steam – and it is currently cheaper than ever. The chance of being eaten by a dino is also low (but not zero).

The first Jurassic Park movie was certainly one reason why I developed a strong fascination for dinosaurs. But one thing has always disappointed me a bit: None of those wondrous places – be it Jurassic Park or Jurassic World – have truly lasted long. Sooner or later, the dinos always found a way out of their enclosures (and many of the guests found their way into a dino’s stomach).

Fortunately, there are games like Jurassic World Evolution 3 (short JWE 3), where I can determine the fate of my park and fulfill my childhood dream of a functioning Jurassic Park.

If you share my dream but don’t yet own Jurassic World Evolution 3, there’s currently a discount on Steam. Until June 25, 2026, you save 33% on your purchase – the most it’s ever been. For the standard edition, that means you pay €40.19 instead of the usual €59.99.

You might be able to invest the excess money into the new expansion. This delivers content from Jurassic World Rebirth, the latest film in the franchise. It includes a new campaign as well as building components and creatures, including the massive Distortus Rex – a mutant that is somewhat like the Godzilla of the Jurassic franchise.

JWE 3 is a lot of fun – even when everything goes wrong

Whether with mutants or without, building a dino park in Jurassic World Evolution 3 is just fun. In over 80 hours, I have built several parks, each one more elaborate than the previous. My current park has been built gradually down a mountain, which looks really stylish thanks to modular building.

In fact, none of my guests have been eaten in this park so far. It has looked different in other parks: sometimes an animal is unhappy with its enclosure and breaks out, sometimes a storm damages the protective fences. Or the entire power goes out due to nasty sabotage.

This can occasionally lead to a few guests being eaten. But with enough money, this image damage can often be quickly repaired (or you play in sandbox mode and disable dino outbreaks completely).

It was funny in a way when one of the “collateral damage” in my park included a politician whose political opponents wanted to repay their colleague’s “accident” with a cash gift. Of course, it is not good for publicity when my dinos suddenly become tools for political assassinations.

Even though I don’t like to see my dinos breaking out, I have to admit: When I’m sitting in the cockpit of a helicopter during a heavy storm trying to catch a large carnivore that is feasting on the guest buffet, the adrenaline really pumps.

Most of the time, my Jurassic Park is just a zoo with dinos, and that is the biggest appeal of the game for me. If you also enjoy it, now would be a good time to dive into JWE 3.

MeinMMO author Ody has been in love with Jurassic World Evolution 3 since release. Right on the first evening, he played the new park builder for several hours straight, and his conclusion was overwhelmingly positive, even though he is not a fan of the World movies. Why that is, he explains in his preview report: I already spent a whole 8 hours in Jurassic World Evolution 3 on release day, even though I don’t even like the movies
