In Fortnite runs Season 1 of Chapter 5 with Patch 28.00. We at MeinMMO summarize the patch notes for you in English.

Patch notes and new content for Chapter 5
This is what we know: Epic Games has officially released the patch notes and we list them for you summarized and in detail.
New POIs with their own character
With Chapter 5, Epic Games is bringing a new map with many POIs that players have not seen before. The POIs include:
- Ritzy Riviera – A chic harbor
- Rebel’s Roost – An abandoned villa
- Reckless Railways – A major train station
- Hazy Hillside – An alpine village
- Grand Glacier Hotel – A hotel
Medals with strong effects
In Chapter 5 Season 1, you can encounter 5 bosses, each holding unique loot, including medals.
The bosses include:
- Oscar
- Nisha
- Montague
- Valeria
- Peter Griffin
If you have defeated one of these bosses, you will receive a medal as a reward. This medal slowly restores your shields. The more medals you have in your inventory, the greater the effect of shield regeneration.
However, note that you will be marked on the map with a radius and every player can locate you. The more medals you carry, the smaller the radius on the map.
New cars and adjustments
Fortnite brings a new vehicle to the battlefield – the SUV Grandeur TrailSmasher. This vehicle easily overcomes rugged terrain and mountains. In addition, Epic introduces a new way for you to customize your vehicles. In your locker, there is now the section “Cars”, where you can customize the bodies, stickers, and wheels.
These customization options are purely cosmetic and do not give you any advantages.
New weapons and items for combat
Fortnite rotates its meta in every new season. This time there are many new weapons and items you can use in Chapter 5. The following are known:
- Ballistic shield
- A shield with a pistol – has infinite durability, but drains your stamina when shot
- Grapple Blade
- A grappling hook with a knife on it
- Cluster Sticky Grenade
- A modified version of the plunger
- Hammer Shotgun
- Automatic Rage Shotgun
- Nemesis Assault Rifle
- Striker Assault Rifle
- Thunder Burst Submachine Gun
- Hyper Submachine Gun
- Reaper Sniper Rifle
- Ranger Pistol
Joining the items is the fruit “Flowberry”. This item provides you and your allies with shields when you consume it. Additionally, you gain weightlessness.
Weapon mods and workbenches
In Fortnite, there are now special weapon workbenches in vaults where you can modify your weapons. These modifications are attachments that you pay for with gold bars. Do you want a larger magazine or a sight on your AR? The workbench helps you with that!
Important changes in Battle Royale
- Medkits and shield potions immediately start restoring your bars when used, and you can now move easily while using them
- Restart buses no longer reset your revival progress immediately but now slowly decrease when your action is interrupted. Progress from other teams can also be used to further shorten the revival.
- At the start of a match, you will see three match objectives. You can now choose one that fits your gameplay style and complete it during the round. These objectives replace the daily ones. In each round, you can select an objective that expires at the end of a round.
- Buildings now have boards on the outer edges, so you can pull yourself up on them like in parkour.
- Fortnite has improved and changed the movements of your skins.
Competitive notes
The following items are not available in competitive mode:
- TrailSmasher
- Sports Car
- Cluster Sticky Grenades
