The servers of Fortnite will be shut down today, Thursday, July 16, 2026, for a patch. We are live for you and will provide you with the most exciting information about leaks and server status.
Today your patience is required again, as Fortnite receives a fresh update to version 41.20 and brings various new features to the game. However, the servers will be shut down, and you won’t be able to play for a while.
To help you know when you can play again and what new features to expect, we are here with the live ticker, collecting all the important information for you so that you are up-to-date. As soon as there are patch notes, you will find them here as well.

Good morning! It’s about to start! The matchmaking has already ended, so until the servers are back online, you can’t play anymore.
If it goes as known, you should be able to play freely again around 12 or 1 PM. However, we will keep you updated in case it gets shorter or longer.
All important information about the downtime and new content in brief
- When will the servers go offline? On July 16, 2026, probably starting at 10 AM. A short time before, usually about 30 minutes prior, matchmaking will be disabled, and you won’t be able to get in.
- When can I play Fortnite again? With most updates, you can get back into the game after about 2 – 3 hours. Therefore, the servers should be back online around 12 or 1 PM.
- When will patch notes be released? Epic Games only sporadically posts patch notes for updates and usually only after the downtime. As soon as they are available, you can read them with us.
What content will there be? On one side, the summer event in Fortnite called “Hot Bat Summer” will start. Additionally, there will be a collaboration with the new film Odyssey by Christopher Nolan, where you can secure fitting skins. Also, there should be some new sprites with Batman, Seven, and Air.
