The new patch 7.51 for Final Fantasy XIV has been released and brings a new epic raid along with other innovations. Included is a taco and a shovel that seem more important to the community than the great threat posed by a clown.
What’s new in the patch? On June 2, 2026, patch 7.51 was released. It includes the new ultimate raid, new side quests for the Cosmo exploration, as well as a new area or a new mount and minion. Additionally, there are several other minor new features that you can check in the official patch notes.
The ultimate raid is called Dancing Mad. There, you must face the clown Kefka, who is already known from the Omega raid series. However, to tackle this intense challenge, you must first clear the fourth Savage raid from the heavyweight class of the Arcadion.
Amid all the innovations, an ordinary taco and a shovel ironically steal the show.

What’s the deal with the taco and the shovel? Also part of the patch is a new emote and a fashion accessory.
The emote involves eating a taco, reminiscent of a moment from Graha Tia in the Dawntrail trailer where he blissfully bites into a taco. In the Reddit post about patch 7.51, it was made clear that the taco emote is a real star in the community.
There are several users in the comments who are very excited about the new emote. A GIF was posted, showing the ruby weapon from Shadowbringers, with the caption: “Big Fat Tacos”.
This comes from a meme of the soundtrack where many players initially mishear the lyrics as: “BIG FAT TACOS, A BIG FAT TACOS, A BIG FAT TACOS, SO BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG”.
This is also a phrase commonly typed in chat during the ruby weapon’s trial as soon as the music starts. But just listen for yourself (starting at 0:18):
Besides the taco, the shovel is another star: Along with many taco comments, the shovel is also represented – not as often as the taco, but noticeably often. The Reddit user Kireag wonders: “Why am I so damn excited about a shovel?”
Another user responded to him, mentioning that such fashion accessories could mean that Square Enix will bring more of this kind into the MMORPG. According to him, such items would lead to better poses for pictures – or just AFK standing in one spot – and more role-play possibilities.
