In 2025, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure finally returned to Netflix with a new season, and it came with a highly rated episode. However, despite the good news, Netflix angered the fans. Now they are finally getting what they’ve been demanding for months.
How did Netflix anger the fans? On March 19, 2026, the first episode of the new anime JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run (Part 7) premiered on Netflix. With a rating of 9.7 on IMDb, it is also one of the highest-rated anime episodes of 2026. But Netflix did not build well on this excitement.
After the release of the first episode, it was initially unclear when the second episode would start, and many fans feared that they were repeating the mistake of the previous JoJo series with a release of batches, meaning multiple episodes or specials spaced out significantly – fans preferred to revive the JoJo Friday, which meant a weekly release. Netflix’s move was for many fans the death of the hype.
As a result, they flooded the comment sections of many Netflix videos, such as on TikTok. This form of criticism seems to have paid off, as there is good news.
JoJo Fridays are back
What happens with the next episodes of the series? On X.com, Netflix announced that JoJo Fridays are back. Stages 2 and 3 of Steel Ball Run are set to be released weekly starting September 25. Eleven episodes are mentioned.
It is still unclear whether the 11 episodes are one of the stages or both stages directly. After all, fans will have something to look forward to every week until December.
Among the comments, many fans are celebrating the news with JoJo images but are not praising Netflix for it; rather, they are criticizing the streaming service for the original issue. Otherwise, the announcement seems to be received quite well.
