Zenless Zone Zero is celebrating its second anniversary with a new music video. The highlight: Space Marines from Warhammer 40,000. Wait, what?
Yes, you heard it right, and no, I don’t know either. On YouTube, the official Zenless Zone Zero account posted a new video. In less than 5 hours, it has garnered over 60,000 views and over 13,000 likes.
In the video, Chief Engineer Norma Hollowell is trying to get new designs for the cute little Bangboos approved by her boss, Velina Airgid. However, the plan apparently envisions not little bunnies, but… thick armor with futuristic weapons.
These Space Marine bunnies march several times in the video in closed formations like their obvious counterparts, first appearing at second 0:27 – later they dance and showcase their various weapons like built-in rocket launchers.
What may surprise some now: In the game where players like to look under the skirts of the characters, there seem to be quite a few loyal followers of the Empire, if you take a look at the comments.
“Someone at ZZZ likes Warhammer 40k”
Already in the comments under the video, one sees “For the Emperor!” just as often as any references to the latest game from the makers of Genshin Impact. The video is also directly discussed on Reddit – in the various Subreddits of Warhammer.
How accurate these Banbgoo Marines really are is hard to say, as “real” Space Marines have significantly more organs than a human should actually have and must go through a deadly selection process.
Either way, the holy Inquisition probably won’t be too pleased that someone has started to use the precious gene-seed of Space Marines for little bunnies. On the other hand: What can ordinary humans do against an army of genetically modified killer rabbits?
As always in Warhammer, it likely holds true: If you have the firepower to reinforce your argument, you are likely right. ZZZ fans can only hope that the sight of the bunny Marines is a better sign than the one Space Marine: Why you should wish never to encounter a Space Marine from Warhammer 40,000
But now please excuse me, I have to write a report to the Inquisition…
