What is Faker’s most significant trophy? In the Korean version of Fortune Magazine, Faker recently gave an interview. Part of it was translated by user Yujin-Ha and published on Reddit. In the interview, Faker is asked which trophy means the most to him in his career. He has a plausible answer:
Nowadays, I don’t attribute much significance to the trophy itself. That’s because the confidence I’ve gained from overcoming the injuries and setbacks I’ve encountered on my journey is much more important to me.
From this perspective, winning the World Championship in 2023 was particularly significant. It had been a long time since we won, and it was a time when both the team and the fans desperately yearned for it. Personally, I struggled with injuries, and there were many challenges on a team level as well.
In 2023, T1’s victory at the Worlds felt like the start of a new era. With a pretty strong team, for some fans the best team in T1 history, Faker and his teammates defeated Team Weibo 3:0. It didn’t seem like Faker was in the best position beforehand, as he was plagued by an injury.
