Registeel awaits you in its Dynamax form in Pokémon GO. MeinMMO shows you how to best defeat the boss.
What kind of monster is this? Registeel is a legendary monster that is part of the legendary giants. These include Regice and Regirock, which were also previously available as Dynamax monsters in Pokémon GO.
Registeel will first appear as a Dynamax boss on Monday, May 18, 2026, and is waiting to be challenged and defeated by you. We have summarized how best to accomplish this.
Tips and Counters Against Dynamax Registeel
Which attackers are suitable for the boss? Registeel is a Steel type. This gives it a weakness to Fighting, Fire, and Ground type attacks. To deal maximum damage to the boss, you should use attackers of these types. The following monsters are suitable for this:
- Gigantamax Cinderace
- Gigantamax Machamp
- Gigantamax Charizard
- Dynamax Darmanitan
- Dynamax Excadrill
- Urshifu (Rapid Style)
Which defenders are suitable? In addition to attackers, you also need strong defenders to absorb Registeel’s attacks and fill your Dyna Meter. The following Pokémon are particularly suitable for this role:
- Zamazenta (Crowned Shield) with Metal Claw
- Dynamax Latias with Dragon Breath
- Dynamax Registeel with Lock-On
- Dynamax Metagross with Shadow Claw or Fury Cutter
- Zacian (Crowned Sword) with Metal Claw
- Dynamax Latios with Dragon Breath
Make sure your defenders have a fast (0.5 seconds) Quick Attack and avoid using Charge Attacks. This way you fill your Dyna Meter the fastest.
Registeel has 2 Charge Attacks. If you notice that your defenders have a type disadvantage, you can start a new battle and see if the new Charge Attacks make the fight easier for you. Registeel can use the following Charge Attacks:
- Flash Cannon (Steel)
- Focus Blast (Fighting)
- Hyper Beam (Normal)
- Zap Cannon (Electric)
Which healers are good? If you take on the role of supporter in the battle to heal or shield your team, you can generally use any monster for this. However, due to the large number of hit points, the following monsters are particularly suited for this role:
- Dynamax Blissey
- Dynamax Wailord
- Gigantamax Snorlax
- Gigantamax Lapras
- Dynamax Vaporeon
- Eternatus
How should the battle proceed? A total of 4 trainers can participate in the battle together as a group. Within this group, you should coordinate who takes on which role. If you skip this and all trainers bring their strongest attackers, the battle may become more difficult than if you have a balanced mix of attackers and supporters.
Each trainer should only help fill the Dyna Meter by using Quick Attacks in battle. Once filled, switch to the monster according to your role. Now perform the Dynamax abilities and then switch back to your defenders. Repeat this process until you have defeated Registeel.
If you have trouble in the battle and have no way to add more trainers, you can use the Battle Effects of Zamazenta and Zacian to increase your monsters’ defense or attack in battle. You need to use Stardust and candies of the respective monster for this.
Additionally, you can use the item Dyna-Shroom to double your damage for 30 minutes. However, the item is very rare and typically only obtainable with PokéCoins.
If you’re lucky, you might even receive the boss as a Shiny after the battle.
