In Pokémon GO, there are various types of eggs that you can hatch. But which Pokémon are inside them and how can you obtain them? We at MeinMMO have taken a look and explain it to you.
What kind of eggs are these? In Pokémon GO, you can not only catch Pokémon but also collect and hatch different eggs. These vary not only by their hatching distance and color but also by their contents.
Depending on the egg, you can encounter various and sometimes very rare Pokémon. The following eggs are available:
- 2 km Eggs
- 5 km Eggs
- 7 km Eggs
- 10 km Eggs
- 12 km Eggs
- Daily Adventure Egg
- Eggs from Adventure Sync Rewards
Update from March 4, 2026: We have adjusted the contents of the eggs for the current season and updated the article for you.
You can find the trailer for the season here:
How do you get the eggs? To secure an egg, you only need enough space in your egg storage. This holds a maximum of 12 slots, with the last three reserved for 12 km eggs and eggs from Adventure Sync.
You can obtain the eggs through various methods, such as spinning the photo disc at PokéStops or gyms.
Pokémon that you can also get in their shiny form with some luck have been marked with an asterisk (*).
All Monsters from 2 km Eggs
You receive 2 km eggs by spinning the photo disc at PokéStops and gyms. You can recognize them by the green spots on their shell. According to the statistical collection from The Silph Road, you find these eggs more often compared to 5 km and 10 km eggs. Currently, you can expect the following Pokémon from them:
- Dunsparce*
- Wimpod*
- Tadbulb*
- Cleffa*
- Igglybuff*
- Smoochum*
- Larvesta*
All Monsters from 5 km Eggs
You can also obtain 5 km eggs by spinning the photo disc at PokéStops and gyms. They are somewhat rarer compared to 2 km eggs. You can recognize the 5 km eggs by their orange pattern. You can look forward to the following Pokémon from these eggs:
- Sizzlipede*
- Snom
- Fidough*
- Munchlax*
- Indeedee (Male)*

All Monsters from 7 km Eggs
In contrast to eggs with hatching distances of 2, 5, and 10 kilometers, you do not receive 7 km eggs by spinning photo discs, but by opening gifts. As before, you need to have corresponding free slots in your egg storage.
You only need to go to your friends list and open the gift of a friend. Unlike the other eggs, 7 km eggs have a yellow shell with pink spots. They are easy to recognize.
The following Pokémon are currently found in 7 km eggs, which you obtain from gifts from friends, according to Niantic:
- Galarian Meowth*
- Galarian Zigzagoon*
- Galarian Darumaka*
- Galarian Stunfisk*
- Galarian Corsola*
- Alolan Geodude*
- Alolan Diglett*
Additionally, you can also secure special 7 km eggs from the gifts you receive from Mateo at the end of a completed route. The following monsters will hatch from these in the current season:
- Galarian Corsola*
- Galarian Slowpoke*
- Hisuian Sneasel*
- Hisuian Growlithe*
- Basculin (White Striped)*
The contents of the various 7 km eggs are thematically changed for some events. This means that certain event Pokémon will hatch from the eggs you receive during these periods. We will share these changed contents through our respective event announcements here on MeinMMO. It’s worth checking back regularly.
All Monsters from 10 km Eggs
Just like the 2 and 5 km eggs, you also receive the 10 km eggs by spinning PokéStops and gyms. These eggs can be recognized by their purple spots. They not only have one of the longest hatching distances but also contain one or another special Pokémon that you rarely find in the game, such as:
- Deino*
- Honedge*
- Impidimp*
- Dreepy
- Charcadet*
- Tinkatink*
- Larvesta*
All Monsters from 12 km Eggs
Another special feature are the red-patterned 12 km eggs in Pokémon GO. You can only obtain these as rewards from battles against Team GO Rocket bosses Sierra, Arlo, Cliff, and their leader Giovanni.
Accordingly, some of the monsters found in these eggs are quite rare. Some of these Pokémon, like Gladiantri, Ganovil, or Molunk, can only be obtained by hatching the eggs. You can find the following monsters there:
- Sandile*
- Vullaby*
- Shroodle
- Pancham*
- Salandit*
- Varoom

You do not lose any of your incubators, and no space in your egg bag is used for the egg.
With the daily adventure egg, you can receive the following monsters. These include all starter Pokémon from the main series games that exist.
- Bulbasaur*
- Charmander*
