Next year, the anime of Dragon Ball will celebrate its 40th anniversary, while the manga already celebrated it last year. Accordingly, the creators want to know in a survey which character is your favorite.
What kind of survey is this? Dragon Ball features 212 characters from the manga. Fans are supposed to vote for which character they like the most. In the international voting, there are iconic heroes like Son-Goku or Piccolo, but also side characters, whom the mangaka had temporarily forgotten.
However, there are also characters that you would have never thought would be up for selection. They only appeared briefly in the manga but were still considered for the vote. These include:
- A dolphin
- Bee the dog
- Police officers whose car gets destroyed
- A man participating in the Genkidama
- A panda family
- A farmer with a power level of 5
In addition, there are numerous characters who at least have been given a name but are also only seen briefly.
Here’s how you can participate in the Dragon Ball survey
How can you participate? To take part, you must cast a vote on the official survey page. Choose the character that has captured your heart and click the vote button at the bottom. The survey is available in both Japanese and English.
You can only vote once per day. The survey updates every day at 4 PM Central European Time.
Over time, more and more characters will be eliminated. So check back regularly to vote for your favorite. After each elimination, there is even a chance on X to bring back one of the deleted characters to the survey.
Until when does the survey run? The final results will be available on January 24, 2026, on YouTube. The time is yet to be confirmed.
