Diablo 4: Skill Plans – The Best Skill Trees for All Endgame Content

With the War Plans, you can put together your endgame content in Diablo 4 yourself. We show you the best builds for all trees here on MeinMMO.

The War Plans are basically a playlist for your endgame content in Diablo 4. You choose which activities you want to tackle to earn rewards. If you don’t like the options, you can reroll them as often as you have Signs of El’druin. You can have a maximum of three and earn them by completing War Plans.

How should I build the War Plan trees? This mainly depends on what is most important to you in the respective activities. Below, we show you builds that we can generally recommend. Both our own experiences and tips from various Diablo experts like wudijo on YouTube are included.

War Plans: The best build for the Whispering Tree

Best build for the Whispering Tree

1. Gruesome Revenge
2. Colossal Foe
3. Tree of Abundance
4. Whispering Insight
5. Favor of Chaos

The Whispering Tree is not a standalone activity in the War Plans. You complete the tasks almost on the side and are rewarded with loot that you can further customize.

We especially recommend the middle paths, as this allows you to decide individually which rewards you want to receive – such as more materials, more chaos collections, or more XP. In the end, you should skill the chance that Whispering Chests contain a Magnificent Spark. You can always vary the middle path as needed.

Through the right path, you unlock Whispering Ambushes where enemies and even bosses attack you. If you defeat them, you have the chance to get more chaos collections with often powerful loot.

War Plans: The best build for Nightmare Dungeons

Best build for Nightmare Dungeons

For the Nightmare Dungeons, the right path is recommended, as it gives you an increased or even guaranteed chance of rare events and treasure goblins in the dungeons. This way, you can get strong loot more easily.

The middle path is also worthwhile, as it gives you escalation seals and access to horadric portals. This brings a lot of loot and especially important materials.

You can invest your 7th skill point either in the left path for even more loot or put it towards the treasure goblins.

Best build for Hell Flood

1. Hell’s Maw
2. Winds and Rot
3. Wretched Vermin
4. Downfall of the Cruel
5. Spotted Shrines
6. Hated Foe
7. Brothers in Flesh/Infernale Rite/Nightmare Fear

The Hell Flood is perfect for leveling and looting at the same time. Here we recommend a mix of all three paths to get the most out of it.

The middle path makes the Hellwyrm events even more worthwhile, as they spawn maggots, chaos portals, and bloodseekers. The points in the right path allow maggots and more heralds to spawn, which in turn gives you more Anomalous Ember.

The left path makes your threat level rise faster, which in turn increases enemy density. Hellwyrms, for example, spawn when your threat is at least half full. You can also choose whether butchers and more Hellbloods attack you and what they drop.

For the Undercity, especially the left path is worthwhile due to the portal prankster. If they spawn, extra rewards await. This can be combined with the middle path as a cabochon trader spawns there, who sells you runes and gems for gold after you defeat the prankster.

The remaining skill points can be invested in the right path for more XP and tougher monsters as a challenge – or you can alternatively invest them in the middle path.

6. Runes Hideout
7. Hideout of Abundance

Here, a mix is advisable to trigger random boss events and snag loot. Set your points so that Grigoires Knights in the Hell Flood as well as the Beast in Ice and the Amalgam of Wrath can spawn in Nightmare Dungeons.

The middle path is ideal for opening portals and fighting against two hideout bosses at the same time. The left path also grants you an additional hoard chest when you defeat a hideout boss (except Belial).

4. Method and Madness
5. Impending Doom
6. The Black Pact
7. Forged in Flames/Immaculate Find/Total Chaos/Oath of Chaos

The Hell Hordes are among the less popular War Plan contents. They often take long, and the rewards are – even with the right perks – highly dependent on chance.

If you want or “have to” go through the activity, we recommend a mix of the left and middle paths. The left path gives you more loot and a talisman chest. With the middle path , you influence your gifts and waves.

For The Pit, a mix of the middle and left path works best. This way, you level your glyphs much faster and get through the individual runs quicker.

Note that the build of your War Plans is not a rigid construct that must remain the same until the end of the season. Depending on what your focus is at the moment, you can reskill the trees at any time.
