Which platform is it? On June 9, 2026, Destiny 2 will join the Legacy Collection (2025) including the final expansion “The Final Shape” for PS Plus subscribers in the catalog. This will affect anyone with an active Extra or Premium subscription, allowing them to play all the content of Destiny 2 at no additional cost. Unfortunately, Essential subscribers will be left out.
In addition to the base game and all expansions, all weapon packs are included, providing hundreds of hours of gameplay. The bundle offers all interested returning players and newcomers a great opportunity to dive into the MMO shooter. Especially now, as the last update for Destiny 2 ever is dangerously approaching.
A nudge for the dying MMO?
When will Destiny 2 come to an end? At the same time, that is also on June 9, 2026, Destiny 2 will receive its final update. This update will be the very last that the shooter MMO will ever receive. Afterwards, the game will be put into maintenance mode.
All previous content will remain playable, and the DLCs will continue to be sold, so Destiny 2 is not entirely lost. However, whether the game can attract and retain new and old players through actions like the PS Plus catalog in the long run remains rather questionable.
