Crimson Desert announced a roadmap 3 weeks ago that planned important features for the next 3 months. Now the developers are nearly finished.
What is this roadmap? After Crimson Desert significantly improved the release version with countless quality-of-life features, the developers presented a roadmap for the next 3 months one month after the release.
In it, they aimed to add more features until July 2026 that would make life even more enjoyable for players. According to forbes.com, the following adjustments were the focus:
- New difficulty levels
- New mounts and companions
- Boss replay
- Enemy respawn when areas are fully cleared
- New clothing and weapons
- New abilities for Damiane and Oongka
- Carrying weapons on the back
- New storage options
A roadmap to check off
How far have the developers come? In every area of the roadmap, the developers have already implemented improvements via patches over the last 3 weeks. Although not everything is perfectly solved yet, the developers are well ahead of their roadmap.
After about two months, Crimson Desert still has some rough edges, yet it’s hard to accuse the developers of progressing too slowly with patches and updates.
How do the players see this? The players of Crimson Desert like to compare the title to Skyrim. For them, it is less about the main story, but more about simply experiencing the open world and having a new adventure with each new session.
However, regarding the pace of the developers, there is a clear difference to Skyrim, as the developers are not exactly known for their speed in the Reddit community:
- KungFuChicken1990: “They are like the anti-Bethesda, as quick as they roll out these updates.”
- XXXLaCroiXXX: “As a project manager, I don’t know how this is happening lol. Either they have a massive development team or everyone is on a heroic dose of Adderall.”
- TheDustMan99: “At this point, I’m wondering what they will do next, maybe a new roadmap? Or are they focusing on all the improvements suggested in the current patches? I feel really good, I bought this game on day one and it has been nothing but fun so far, even without mods.”
- Rumplestiltskin84846: “Is it greedy of me to say that I want to see a reasonably large DLC area? I know they said future updates would be free, but I would love to pay for a DLC.”
Whether the developers will declare their roadmap completed before the deadline and seek new challenges remains to be seen. They deserve a little break after the quick completion.
With Crimson Desert, Pearl Abyss has created a real hit and excited many players. Especially with the last patch that checked off the latest milestone of the roadmap: Crimson Desert players can decide with the new patch whether they want more enemies again
