In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the “secret” tab in the main menu has now received a countdown. We will tell you when it ends – and what it could mean.
When does the countdown end? In the main menu of Modern Warfare, a countdown is ticking down, which started today, on Monday, March 9, at 4 PM German time. It runs for 24 hours – ending precisely on March 10 at 4 PM.
What is it about? With a new official trailer for the Battle Royale mode Warzone, developer Infinity Ward has now confirmed that the mode will be released tomorrow.
When does the Battle Royale start and how big will the update be? In addition to the countdown, the official Twitter channel of Call of Duty has posted some information. According to these, there are two releases for Warzone:
- Owners of Modern Warfare can start at 4 PM
- The download size will be 15-22GB
- Free2Play players can start at 8 PM
- The download size will be 80-100GB
Leaks and release of the Battle Royale
This is what happened just before: Today, March 9, announcements and leaks regarding the new mode have increased. Twitch accidentally aired an advertisement for Warzone.
Then, a YouTuber also broke the NDA (“Non Disclosure Agreement”) and posted a complete video with gameplay of Warzone. There he also revealed that the mode will be free-to-play – so standalone, like already in Black Ops 4.
What features will the Battle Royale have? In a blog post, Activision has already revealed that Warzone will launch with a trio mode and vehicles. Some other features were also introduced, such as the Gulag.
When players are defeated for the first time, they do not just die. They land in a Gulag, where they can face other players in a 1vs1 match. If they win, they return to the match.
Other players can watch and throw stones at those fighting. However, if the player dies a second time, it’s over.
Alternatively, team members can buy an item to revive their fallen colleague.
