In Destiny 2 a bug has appeared that makes you unbelievably powerful. And the developers even say you should use it.
On June 9, 2026, after 12 years, the final expansion of Destiny 2 was released. While the expansion caused a player rush and became a bestseller, many players will likely look sadly towards the end of the loot shooter.
A bug has now become known in Destiny 2 that is causing a stir. Because it makes you unbelievably powerful. And while you shouldn’t typically exploit bugs in games, the developers are actually encouraging you to do so in this case.
“Send us your videos”
What kind of bug is this? The bug allows you to put any number of mods in an artifact – even multiple times. This means you can currently become so powerful that you can defeat some of the strongest enemies in the game with ease.
We will not describe how the bug works here, as it involves exploiting game glitches. However, you could watch this video:
What do the developers say about it? While developers are usually interested in quickly fixing bugs, this is different in this specific case. On X, the developers of Destiny 2 posted a message stating that they will fix the bug next week.
Until then, you’re encouraged to take advantage of the bug for some fun. The post also states: “We think this will be a bit of fun. Let’s go. Get out there and take down Atheon. Take out some bosses. Do your thing,” as well as “Do something crazy. Send us your videos. Have fun. Be bold.”
So you shouldn’t feel guilty about exploiting this bug. On the contrary – you are officially encouraged by the team behind Destiny 2 to use it and have fun.
Have you already used the bug yourself? Feel free to let us know in the comments. While the end of Destiny 2 may bring sadness to many players, there are also players who look forward to the end differently. Just like MeinMMO author Christos Tsogos: After over 8 years with Destiny 2, I have to say goodbye to the loot shooter, but instead of mourning, I celebrate.
