ARC Raiders was a huge hit last fall. The shooter captivated hundreds of thousands of players on Steam for months. However, in recent months, the mood has changed. Fans have increasingly complained about a lack of content. Now the developers are responding.
This is the current situation with ARC Raiders: In a blog post from May 13, 2026, the developers announced they would radically change how they update the game. Instead of the previous monthly drops, there will now be larger updates only twice a year.
The next update, Frozen Trail, is therefore not expected until October 2026, but it will also be the largest so far, featuring a huge map, new enemies, and a first look into the background of the ARCs. You can read the entire post on the official ARC Raiders website.
The developers are responding to the ongoing complaints from the community about the lack of content. They explain: The monthly update cycle puts too much pressure on them, and the updates have less impact.
In the meantime, there will continue to be fixes and events. Furthermore, the developers want to use this time to work more intensively on the other major problem of the shooter: the damned cheaters.
ARC Raiders is dead, long live ARC Raiders
This is how it is being discussed: The decision unsurprisingly caused a huge uproar in the community. The X account ARC Raiders Informer, which regularly shares news about the game, stated in a post that the creators have just killed their own game.
The content creator Loochy represents on X a completely different view, however. He writes that players should simply accept that for a purchase price of 40 Euros, they would have received enough. They could always return for new content and play something else in the meantime.
Also in the subreddit for ARC Raiders, the mood is divided: some players complain that one should not make a live service game if one does not want to treat it like one. They accuse the developers of putting the shooter on the back burner after cashing in, to focus on other projects.
One fan titled on Reddit: We are so back, baby! Another quips: Back in October.
