Because portals in an endgame activity in Diablo 4 spawned directly on the loot, many players were unable to pick up item drops and lost important levels for their glyphs. Blizzard has now fixed this issue.
What activity is this about? In the pit, you not only unlock higher torment levels, but also upgrade your glyphs for the Paragon Boards. These glyphs provide massive bonuses for your builds, which become stronger with increasing levels.
To improve the glyphs and collect loot, you must reach the end of a pit run. A portal that was supposed to bring you back to town recently often prevented players from actually taking their progress and loot with them.
“Quality of Life” feature became an annoying trap
What was patched? In recent days, many players reported on Reddit, among other places, that the portal at the end of the pit spawned so inconveniently that they accidentally left the activity too early. Instead of collecting the items, they ended up involuntarily in town and could not return. Particularly frustrating: The glyph upgrades were lost and could not easily be reclaimed in the next run.
On April 30, 2026, Blizzard released a hotfix. In the English forum, the developers write:
Completing a run in the pit or tower no longer spawns a portal to exit. Our intention with adding this portal was a “Quality of Life” improvement (QoL), but it missed the mark.
The community welcomes the change, but immediately delivers further feedback. Many players are requesting a review of the portals in Temis, the capital of the new region Skovos, in a Reddit post. There, the player portal spawns directly next to the blacksmith, causing many players to accidentally teleport back instead of interacting with the vendor. Whether Blizzard will address this issue remains to be seen.
In Temis, you will find not only all important vendors during the course of the new campaign, but also the cool, new Horadrim Cube. Players even advise recycling items in the cube instead of breaking them down classically at the blacksmith. Because this way you can complete your builds in Diablo 4 and farm items almost on demand.
