Who is bowie knife99? bowie knife99 is an AI-controlled driver in Forza Horizon 6 that players must repeatedly compete against in their races. There is no mysterious player driving through virtual Japan, intentionally crashing into you.
Over the past week, bowie knife99 has become a meme in the Forza Horizon community. Whether on Reddit, X, or in videos on TikTok – players everywhere are talking about the AI adversary, as he brings chaos and frustration.
“Who the hell is this BowieKnife99?”
How does he grief players? bowie knife99 is present in nearly every race. At lower difficulty levels, he drives recklessly and uncontrollably. He ignores the racing line and rams players at full speed. Occasionally he even flies over a hill next to the road.
At higher difficulty levels, bowie knife99 suddenly becomes Michael Schumacher in his prime. He takes perfect corners, loses no time anywhere, and drives faster than his car should be able to. Of course, the notorious driver still succumbs to unfair driving maneuvers.
The unique driving style of the AI opponent causes players to lose and have to repeat their races. bowie knife99 is fast but also unfair and is considered a “Dirty Driver”.
This is the experience of MeinMMO editor Dariusz: bowie knife99 is the only name of a bot that I can (unintentionally) remember. Even during my pre-release test, it was always bowie knife99 that I clashed with while playing the campaign – both fairly and unfairly.
When my friends also started with Forza Horizon 6 at release, it didn’t take long for one of them to shout the name on Discord in frustration. He is really as bad as the memes suggest.
