Aion 2 has launched strongly on Steam in early access. The developers at NCSoft are pleased and are distributing gifts in the form of a code to the community.
How successful has Aion 2 launched? The early access launch of Aion 2 is a huge success for NCSoft. On X, the developers celebrate reaching number 1 in the global sales charts. The current player numbers support this. According to steamdb.info, there were temporarily 171,530 players logged into Aion 2 on Steam at the same time. The next day, there are still over 87,000 (7:50 AM).
However, myself and the community seem to agree that Aion 2 is not perfect. The 1,774 reviews so far come to a mediocre judgment (67 percent positive). Many critical reviews focus on monetization and some mobile elements.
Occasionally, there are fans of the first Aion who are disappointed with the implementation of the MMORPG. Other MMO veterans feel differently and celebrate the nostalgia flash. There is much praise for the leveling phase, the combat system, the beautiful world, and more.
