AI chatbots write texts, create images, and know answers to the trickiest questions. A man has now developed a chat that works entirely without artificial intelligence: he simply answers the incoming questions himself. However, the rush was greater than expected.

What kind of chat is this? Behind the project is 32-year-old Tucker J. Bryant. He is an artist and former Google employee. In April 2026, he launched the chatbot “ChatTJB.” The idea gained traction only after he rented a billboard in San Francisco for about $6,000.
The project quickly spread online and became a hype. Tucker was inundated with requests. Since the billboard, according to Fortune, more than 100,000 requests have been made to ChatTJB. At times, he received over 5,000 new prompts per hour.
At first glance, the website resembles “competing products” like ChatGPT. Users can type a question or a task into the text field and eventually receive an answer. However, this answer does not come from a real AI, but from Tucker personally.

This is how the project will continue: Answering thousands of requests alone is hardly manageable even for the most motivated person. Tucker had to admit this as well. Therefore, he eventually opened the project to others.
Meanwhile, more than 10,000 people have stepped forward to help Tucker answer the questions.

What’s behind this? The project aims to show that people often trust AI blindly. Studies show that even false statements are often perceived as truth.
ChatTJB plays on this trust. Behind the supposedly intelligent chat window could also sit a completely normal average guy, or indeed thousands of them.
